Welcome back to the Xenoblade Heart to Hearts series! Last time, Dunban wrapped up his chats in Colony 6. So, who's next? Someone we haven't heard from in a while. Our favorite Face Mechon, Fiora! So, what do they have to say? Read on to discover...
Heart to Heart 35: Communing with the Ancestors
Participants: Spyro and Fiora
Location: East of Main Entrance
Affinity: Lavender
Prerequisites: Nature Level 5, Special Level 3
Introduction
Fiora: Spyro? What are you doing out here?
Spyro: (Waking up as if from a trance) Huh? Oh, hey Fiora. What's up?
Fiora: When one of you disappears, it's usually Cynder. What are you doing here?
Spyro: Just... connecting with the Earth.
Pass/Pass
Fiora: Connecting with the Earth? I'm kind of confused. What do you mean by that?
Spyro: I really don't blame you. I mean it's literally a concept from another world. Dragons are very connected with the planet. It is said that when a dragon dies, their spirit does not truly leave the world, instead binding itself with nature, offering hope for the future. This binding is shown by our Gems. Gifts from the Ancestors.
Fiora: Wow. That's... deep.
Spyro: It was kind of confusing when I first learned it, but it's become something I've taken solace in as of recent.
Fiora: Can I ask why?
Spyro: (Sighs) No point in hiding it. Those words I just spoke to you, at least the first part, were told to me by my mentor, Ignitus, after he died.
Fiora: So... his ghost told you that?
Spyro: Kind of. But either way, I guess what I'm doing is trying to connect with him here, trying to find some... guidance, in a tough time.
Fiora: Oh... And... is it working?
Spyro: I... think so.

Fiora: And you believe these tall tales?
Spyro: Wow, I have never heard something I've been more offended by. It's more than tall tales, Fiora. At least in my world, it's all real. Ignitus wouldn't lie to me about this.
Fiora: Ignitus?
Spyro: My mentor. He died getting Cynder and I to our final battle with Malefor. I guess this has been my way to see him again.
Fiora: How's that working for you?
Spyro: Not as well as I'd like it to, unfortunately. Probably because you're just badmouthing my entire culture right now.

Fail/Pass
Fiora: What on Bionis is that supposed to mean?
Spyro: I get you're curious, but you could've asked that a little nicer. It's part of what most dragons believe. It said that when a dragon dies, their soul does not truly leave this world, but binds itself with nature, offering hope for the future.
Fiora: Still sounds a little strange to me.
Spyro: Wow, just wow. I admit, it sounded strange to me too, but over time, it started making sense. Especially since it's now my only way to talk with Ignitus...
Fiora: Who?
Spyro: My mentor. The same dragon who told me everything I just told you. After he died, I may note.
Fiora: (Realizing this isn't just some nonsense) Oh. I had no idea.
Spyro: Gee, I never noticed. It's surprisingly comforting. I definitely feel closer to myself because of it.
Fiora: I'm terribly sorry if I offended. Please, carry on, if it helps you.
Spyro: Thanks, Fiora. I may forgive, but I won't forget.

Fiora: So... this helps you talk to ghosts?
Spyro: Are you serious right now?! It's not talking to ghosts, Fiora. It's sort of like... feeling the presence of those we love. Surely Homs have something similar in their culture.
Fiora: I don't know, still sounds like hokum to me.
Spyro: HOKUM?! THIS IS MY CULTURE YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT HERE! It may be to you, but it isn't to me.
Fiora: Okay... I'll just leave you to it then.
Spyro: Please do. I don't need you slandering my faith any further.

And that looks like a good place to wrap up for today. I don't know why I specifically chose Fiora for this chat, but that's what ended up happening. So, how does Cynder interact with Fiora this time? Tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
