Welcome back to the Xenoblade Heart to Hearts series. Last time, Melia made her long-awaited return to the chat, speaking with Spyro for the first time in a long time. Now how does she interact with Cynder this time around? Read on to discover...
Heart to Heart 44: The Gaze of Justice
Participants: Cynder and Melia
Location: Statue Summit
Affinity: Green
Introduction
Melia: The view from up here is incredible.
Cynder: I can't disagree with that, Melia. It's much better than being stared at by these statues.
Melia: You have an issue with the Sororal Statues?
Pass/Pass
Cynder: I just don't like the look they're giving me from down there.
Melia: The look they are giving you? What is that supposed to mean?
Cynder: It just feels like they're judging me for no reason. Looking into my soul and seeing all my sins.
Melia: I'm not sure I understand.
Cynder: Let's just say the details of my past have me feeling strange from these statues.
Melia: I can kind of see it. I mean, these two are the goddesses of order and justice. To someone with a guilty conscience, it would probably be unnerving to have them look upon you.
Cynder: Glad you understand, Melia.
Melia: But from what I have seen, your past actions have undoubtedly made up for whatever ill deeds plague your past, even if you won't tell anyone about them. They have in my book anyways.
Cynder: Really?
Melia: I never lie regarding issues like this.
Cynder: Thanks, Melia.

Pass/Fail

Cynder: It just feels like they're judging me for no reason. Looking into my soul and seeing all my sins.
Melia: I'm not sure I understand.
Cynder: You know what? Forget I said anything. It's not something I like talking about all that much.
Melia: You needn't be afraid to hide anything from me, Cynder. We are allies after all.
Cynder: I know. There's just things I'd rather be left in the past for now, Melia.
Melia: I understand.
Cynder: Thanks, Melia.

Fail/Pass
Cynder: Architecturally? No. They're beautifully carved. But on a personal level, it's sort of a minor thing with me.
Melia: I'm not sure I understand, entirely. You take an issue with them, but you don't at the same time?
Cynder: That... was honestly poorly phrased, I'll give you that.
Melia: Then how should it be phrased?
Cynder: I just don't like how they look at me. It's like they're staring into my soul.
Melia: You... are not the first person to voice this to me.
Cynder: Really?
Melia: I've heard many people claim the eyes of the statues are slightly off kilter.
Cynder: Not entirely what I meant, but thanks for the reassurance. I think.

Cynder: You know what? Let's just drop it. It's not something I'm very comfortable discussing.
Melia: You needn't be afraid to tell me.
Cynder: And some day, I will. But today is not that day. So for the sake of everyone, I advise we drop it until that day comes.
Melia: (Sensing she's under threat) I will concur.
Cynder: Thanks, Melia.

And that wraps up our first chats with Melia in quite a long time. I'll be honest, it was good getting back to her again. I didn't honestly remember that there were chats with her in Satorl Marsh, so I thought we wouldn't hear from her again until we ended up in Alcamoth. So, who's next up to the chat? Tune in next time to discover! Same time... same channel!
