Heart to Heart 46: Lost

Participants: Cynder and Dunban

Location: Shining Pond

Affinity: Pink

Introduction

Dunban: Cynder? What are you doing over here?

Cynder: Just the usual, Dunban.

Dunban: You really have a lot to think about on this journey.

Cynder: Huh. I guess I do.

Dunban: So what is it this time?

Pass/Pass

Cynder: I guess I'm just trying to find purpose.

Dunban: Purpose?

Cynder: All my life I've been a weapon of war. And now, back home at least, everything's going to likely be at peace. I guess I'm just trying to figure out where I fit into this.

Dunban: May I offer some advice?

Cynder: I don't see why not.

Dunban: I had no idea what I was going to do with myself after Sword Valley. I felt as lost as you do. But then I realized I did have something to fight for.

Cynder: It was Fiora, wasn't it?

Dunban: Exactly. She was the only family I had left. I needed to keep fighting for her sake, even if I had to do so with only one arm. I'm sure there's something out there for you.

Cynder: (Thinks about it) Thanks, Dunban. I needed that.

Pass/Fail

Cynder: I guess I'm just trying to find purpose.

Dunban: Purpose?

Cynder: All my life I've been a weapon of war. And now, back home at least, everything's going to likely be at peace. I guess I'm just trying to figure out where I fit into this.

Dunban: May I offer some advice?

Cynder: Go ahead.

Dunban: It may not seem like there's anything for you now, but I know you'll find something. You've taken to this mission with undoubtedly the same passion you did to saving your world.

Cynder: Maybe not as much in the first instance, but you're probably right.

Dunban: I guess the point I'm making is it'll be easy for you to find something to fit into. You just need to keep looking.

Cynder: Pretty blunt, but he's not wrong. Thanks, Dunban. I'll just have to keep looking.

Dunban: That's the spirit!

Fail/Pass

Cynder: No offense, Dunban, but there's still a few things I'd rather keep on me.

Dunban: I understand that you don't want to feel like you're putting an unfair burden on the rest of us by telling us your problems.

Cynder: I sense a but coming.

Dunban: You've got a keen sense then. You don't need to worry about something like that. We're your friends, Cynder. Speaking about issues like these don't impose an unfair burden on any of us. We're here for you.

Cynder: At least you kind of understand what's going through my head there.

Dunban: Don't be afraid to talk with us.

Cynder: I won't be. When the time comes.

Fail/Fail

Cynder: No offense, Dunban, but there's still a few things I'd rather keep on me.

Dunban: I understand that you don't want to feel like you're putting an unfair burden on the rest of us by telling us your problems.

Cynder: Please don't take offense, but I'm going to cut you off right there.

Dunban: Why?

Cynder: I know what you're going to say. Something about not worrying about imposing an unfair burden on the rest of you or something. I get that. But this is just something I need to work out for myself. I'd really appreciate if you could just let that happen.

Dunban: Huh. I've never seen her like this about an issue. I understand. But if it does get to be too much to handle alone, don't feel afraid to tell us.

Cynder: I appreciate the offer, Dunban. I really do.
