Welcome back to the Xenoblade Heart to Hearts series. Today, for our 50th chat, we get started on our final duo at Makna Forest. And I think it's time we talk to somebody we haven't heard from in a long time. I'm talking our resident tank, Reyn. So let's not waste a minute! Here we go!
Heart to Heart 50: On Philanthropy

Introduction
Reyn: Whoa, dude! Take a look at this Ether Crystal! It's huge!
Spyro: That's freaking massive! I'd say it's easily 2 or 3 tons on the low end.
Reyn: If we refine this thing, we'll be millionaires, I'm sure!
Spyro: Probably near to it, after paying the refinery to turn it into gems.
Reyn: (Not paying attention) I'm not even sure what I'd do with that much money!

Spyro: I can only hope you'd put it to something useful.
Reyn: Reyn: Guess that depends on what we consider useful.
Spyro: In my experience, the best use of wealth is philanthropy
Reyn: Phil-what-now? I'm not sure I get it.
Spyro: In simplest terms, philanthropy is using your wealth to enrich the lives of others. Generally through charitable causes.
Reyn: Now I get it! So, if we sold off this giant gem and used the money to help rebuild Colony 6, or to fix Riki's village, that would be philanthropy?
Spyro: That's exactly what it is.
Reyn: Then we need to get the mining equipment out here quickly! I'll talk to Sharla!
Spyro: Reyn, wait! We don't have a claim to this place!

Reyn: Reyn: Guess that depends on what we consider useful.

Spyro: It's phil-an-thro-py. The basic idea is using your wealth to enrich others.
Reyn: So if we spent the money on helping Riki pay off his debts, would that be "philanthropy"?
Spyro: It would be a nice gesture, I'm sure of that. But generally philanthropy benefits more than one person. You're thinking with your head now, that's for sure!
Reyn: Cool! I'll go get Sharla and we'll get right on it!
Spyro: We need to get a claim here first, Reyn!

Spyro: Definitely a few philanthropic causes, if it were me.
Reyn: Philanthropic what now?
Spyro: Wow this guy is dense. Essentially I'd use the money to help others. Probably funnel a good bit of it to rebuilding Colony 6 if we're being specific.
Reyn: That's noble. You'd funnel the entire fortune into helping those who need it.
Spyro: That's really, at least in my minds, one of the obligations of the wealthy. To help those who aren't as fortunate.
Reyn: Further proof you've got the biggest heart of all of us, Spyro.
Spyro: Now that's just not true. I'd say you qualify for that more than anyone.
Reyn: Really?
Spyro: I never lie about this sort of thing.

Spyro: Well, I never said all of the money would go into philanthropic causes. I'd set a portion aside for my use, it'd be kind of foolish not to. Got to have something to retire with, after all.
Reyn: Okay, that was just completely out of character for you. I guess I can see it.
Spyro: Though the majority would still be sent to help those who need it.
Reyn: At least we can count on that from you.
