Isaac and Nimi began sorting through the fruits and meats they had recieved.
"You know, Kommandant, youre going to have to address those girl's feelings at some point." Nimi spoke.
"I know that. Its quite obvious from both Eagle and Eldridge that they have feelings for me. Eagle especially. But i can't just accept those feelings. Not until I'm confident that we can complete our mission. The boys at MIT were always saying something about red flags. This falls under one of them. Something about if I proclaim my love for them now, something bad will happen. And if I tell them I'll accept them when we get home, something bad will happen then as well." Isaac said.
"So youre afraid that if you accept their feelings that you'd somehow put us all in danger? That is a bit far fetched, Kommandant, even for you." Nimi said with a hand on her hip.
"And what's that mean?" Isaac retorted.
"You have some crazy ambitions. And those ambitions point to a mind that is capable of thinking well outside the box. But to make a leap in logic that great? It is frankly absurd, Kommandant." Nimi said with a genuine smile.
"I guess youre right... but still. I'll have to give it more thought. After all, I've known most of you for 3 days tops. I-13 I've known for 2. You cant expect a good relationship to be built on 3 days of knowing each other." Isaac said.
"And if you keep thinking that we are like that, you'll never get with any of us. We want what we want. We are weapons. We can sink during battle at any point. So why should we hold ourselves back? We may never get another chance." Nimi said.
"Really? I mean it sounds logical to be sure. But you guys form those attachments that quick?" Isaac asked.
"We want what we want. If what we want is you... i dont think i need to explain further." Nimi said as she found a can of cherries.
"And remember what I told you? About making Rode Grütt? I found the last ingredient I needed to make it." Nimi said with a small blush.
"Wait... we had those on board this whole time... NIMI?!" Isaac cried as he looked at her. She quickly turned away.
"Maybe in our next lesson... I can teach you how to cook if for me, Isaac." Nimi said as she handed him her clipboard and went out towards the docks.
"Nimi too?" Isaac thought to himself as he sorted the food and put it in it's proper place.
Back on land, the girls watched Nimi emerge with a giddy smile on her face.
"Uh oh, Eagle. Looks like another little destroyer just made her move." Rodney said as she poked Eagle's side with her elbow.
"Oh come on. Not you too, Nimi." Eagle spoke dejectedly.
"Don't worry. I have no plans on hogging him. After all, sharing the wealth is something all should strive for." Nimi said as she lent her hands to helping with dinner.
"Why do you like him then?" Eagle asked as Eldridge listened in.
"He cares for us. He has our backs and is actively looking for our sisters in arms. His cause is as noble as the late Kaiser. I cannot help but feel the draw... it also may be that a handsome man has been staring at me very intensely while having our lessons. Hmm. Now come to think of it, maybe one of our lessons could be..." Nimi spoke before Eagle and eldridge clamped her mouth shut with their hands.
"If anyone gets private lessons with him first, it's me." Eagle said before being shocked by Eldridge.
"Stop being selfish, Eagle." Eldridge spoke.
"Why you little..." Eagle said as a voice can be heard on the docks.
"Hey. You arent giving Eli any trouble, are you?" Isaac yelled.
"No, Kommandant. Just came out to help with dinner, that is all." Nimi said innocently.
"I see. Well, from here, the hog looks about done, so why dont we all gather with the villagers so we can have dinner with them." Isaac said.
"Agreed, nyaa. We should go before a brawl breaks out." Akashi spoke quietly.
"What was that, Akashi?" Isaac asked.
"Nothing, nyaa." Akashi quickly replied.
"Okay. Let's go. I think they have set up logs around the fire, so lets go grab one for us." Isaac said as he walked towards the bonfire.
"Of course, Kommandant." Nimi said as she, Eagle, and Eldridge follow him closely.
"They don't know subtle, do they?" Rodney asked as Akashi shook her head.
"Ah, Isaac. I hope you and your crew are hungry. The village made plenty of food." Eli said as Isaac walked up.
"Eli, my friend. You didnt have to do this much." Isaac said.
"Nonsense. The world's hero needs the best we can offer. So for you, nothing is too much." Eli said as he extended a folder to Eli.
"What is this?" Isaac asked.
"A picture one of the villagers took. We managed to get it when that white haired woman was talking with the chief. The camera stopped working after taking this picture.
"You captured a picture of a high ranking Siren?!" Isaac exclaimed as he opened the folder and looked. Sure enough it was a siren with a weird form of rigging.
"Dikya. Jellyfish." Eli spoke.
"Wait. You said her eyes were yellow. You can clearly see that they're blue." Isaac said.
"I personally saw a girl with yellow eyes... maybe this one got past me without me seeing?" Eli asked.
"Commander!" Rodney exclaimed as soon as she saw the photo.
"Rodney?" Isaac asked.
"That is the siren known as Observer Zero. One of the three major players in the Siren Heirarchy." Rodney exclaimed as the others suddenly became frigid.
"So... we are up against that?" Isaac asked.
"Probably not. The Observer as you call her, said she was going after the Sakura and Dragon Empery. But the yellow one i saw, she was given command of the Philippines." Eli said.
"Can you describe that one?" Isaac asked.
"All i remember is she looked like a manta ray..." Eli said.
"Tester Beta." Nimi spoke.
"Any information?" Isaac asked.
"She is a battleship class siren, just like Observer." Nimi replied.
"Hmm. We have a torpedo advantage... but considering they arent bound to Drone ships, we have to target their bodies, and I doubt they'll sit on the water for us." Isaac said as he closed the folder.
"Do not worry. We have faith." Eli said.
"I appreciate it. Let's just enjoy the food." Isaac said as he sat on the log next to the fire. The girls got their food, as well as the villagers. Nimi brought Isaac a plate and sat next to him. Eagle took his other side, causing Eldridge to pout before a lightbulb lit up above her head. She took her plate and sat squarely on Isaac's lap, earning Isaac a glare from Eagle.
"Hey. Eldridge, how am I supposed to eat?" Isaac asked.
"I feed you." Eldridge said as she turned to face him.
"Nope! Nope. You can have my seat, Eldridge. I'll stand behind the three of you instead." Isaac said as he plopped her down where he had been sitting.
"Aww. Okay." Eldridge replied with a pout.
"... youre gonna have to acknowledge their feelings eventually." Isaac remembered from his talk with Nimi earlier.
"I know... but not right now. We need to focus." Isaac argued with the Nimi in his head.
The night passed quickly after that, and after a long string of goodbyes, Isaac and the girls returned to the Eagle to get some sleep.
