"You're the one that married a Seer.", Luna reminded him.

Rolf threw up his hands. "I can't believe you're fine with our daughter attempting to lure a Death Eater to our home!"

"I'll keep checking for him.", Selene announced. "And so will Delphini."

Her dad turned to her. "Can you at least check...Are you two doing that living half way in the future thing?"

Both of the females shrugged.

Luna dove at him. "Get down.", she instructed.

Delphini, Selene, and Luna had their backs pressed against the stone of the outer wall of Tower Lovegood a second before the black smoke fell from the sky to reveal Rabastan Lestrange.

Delphini asked nervously, "How many did he bring with him?"

Luna raised an eyebrow. "Do you think I would allow my daughter to use you as bait if he was smart enough to bring more than himself? I may allow her to nab a Death Eater because I foresaw she would, but I am still a loving parent."

They barely heard the Banish Curse's incantation before everything on the inner wall they were facing was tossed against it and then slid down. Selene gestured with one hand the general direction of the banishment, pointed with her thumb over her shoulder, and frowned. "He needs to be walking more from the right."

Luna looked at her daughter questioningly.

"Our right when facing him.", Selene explained.

Immediately Rabastan was forced to dive to his left to avoid the two Stunning Curses and the Bat Bogey Hex that were fired to force him on his future path.

Delphini jumped when a firebolt burned a towel hanging on the far wall. Selene snatched her down. "The entire tower's stone, stupid."

"Don't you mean 'beloved', my betrothed?", Delphini grit out.

Selene caught herself rolling her eyes. "Don't distract me."

Luna and Selene looked at each other again. "He's drifiting." They hissed.

A putrid green bolt of sickly magic careened through another window.

Rabastan ducked a barrage of magic that was haphazardly hurled his way. He intended to throw a quick Stupefy before slashing into Protego but the barrage stopped before he gestured. The man spat into the grass, took a step forward, and damn near blew his leg off.

"What kind of ward was that?", Delphini demanded.

"You land mined our lands?", Luna accused.

Selene scoffed. "Of course I didn't land mind your lands, mom. The good ones require/", she glanced at Delphini and sneered. "/elect-trickery to function and could have blown up before even being brought this close to the magic of the tower. So I transfigured a rock to have a pushpin surface underneath hanging above a precussion cap hanging above black powder hanging above nitroglycerin with enough dirt to support the rock but not a man standing on it.

"Now can we go collect the injured, child abusing, wanted criminal?"

Selene raced out the front door and Rabastan stopped pointing his wand at his leg. "No, no, no, no!", the child screamed as he morphed into black smoke. "This isn't how this is supposed to go!", she screamed as she waved her wand wildly at the billowing column.

And then the column collided with the top of the tower. "Oh, never mind."

She turned to the other two. "Don't worry, we have time this time."

And Selene did take her time climbing the steps of her home. Along the way she collected potions and towels and ropes. "Delphini, can you ask mom to find us some better bandages?"

"Um, Mrs. Scarmander?" and the girl was cut off as bandages were put into her arms.

After a couple of minutes, the trap door to the battlement flipped open. Selene stuck a bit of her head out so she could take a look around.

"Aw, did someone try to transmute back into their physical body in a three dimensional net of razor wire I prepared once I realized she could be used as bait?", Selene taunted the injured Death Eater. "Look, the person you've been abusing for years is going to Accio your wand and cast some diagnostic spells at you. If we can determine it's safe, I might have some Blood Replenishing Potions and other goodies for you. If we can't...well, try wiggling your way loose of those micro wires slicing your organs."

With that, her head ducked down and Delphini's took her place. She just stared. In so many timelines, this was the tumor that grew inside her into a cancer of self-submission to inflict one of the most hate filled mad men to eternal power. Selene guessed she was just hesitant of the trap and called up, "Don't worry about the wires. As long as you don't do a full arm extension on your wand movements you'll be alright." And even that brought back memories of Rabastan torturing her for not memorizing curses instead of allowing her to study them. Curses like...no better not if her wand fingers were already twitching.

"Accio wand.", Delphini muttered. A couple more, looking for carried wards and amulets. Cursed weapons? "He's cleared."

Delphini was nearly pulled from the stairway up. "You took longer than we had thought.", Luna told her.

The girl raised an eyebrow.

Selene explained as Luna started shearing the nigh invisible wires. "He's been bleeding out the whole time. We're supposed to deal with his septic shock of cutting his intestines from the inside out when he reformed, not his corpse."

Selene blinked a few times. "Okay, mom! I can reach him."

Selene crawled a crooked path to the man and reached one flask up to his mouth. "Drink or die. Actually, drink or I'll cut a hole in your throat and pour it down."

Rabastian opened his mouth and swallowed the best he could. His wounds seemed more pronounced from the extra bleeding.

"The Blood Replenisher is working and he's still breathing.", Selene called out. "The wire through his skull seams to be through his jaw and ear, not the any parts of the brain. Let's cut him down, bind him, and make sure he'll live for a couple of days."

"Cast your Incarcerous now!", Delphini panicked. "He might escape otherwise."

"No, he won't.", Selene assured. "The idiot tried to reform into razor wire. If he tries anything with that embedded in him, he'll rip gaping wounds in himself.

"However, if we try to bind him before cutting him down, he might literally fall to pieces."

Luna frowned at her daughter. "You know that I'm disappointed in you."

Delphini surmised. "So you're going to pull out the wire then bind him?"

Selene shook her head and lowered her voice. "No, I'm going to have you bind him with the wire still in him. As long as he's not going into septic shock, bleeding into his lungs to drown himself, or something else that will kill him, I'm not pulling out the razor wire.

"That's why my mother is going to be disappointed in me, that I'm not giving my prisoner adequate medical care. This type of apathetic abuse reminds her of what she witnessed during her pregnancy with me. My father tried to keep her comfortable, but what was her rapist going to do - cheer her up?

"It's unfortunate, but I need to keep him an enemy."

Delphini frowned. "Does your mother often help you with your most audacious plans?"

"No, but not out of disapproval.", Selene answered. "It's just with the Sight...the things that happen feel different - and I can only tell from being a natural Occlumens. When you know something is going to happen, it's sometime easier to go with the flow than stop it. Like how when my mom was bullied in school, she never let it upset her. Sure, now that she's a war hero and an accomplished magical zoologist and she owns a magazine that publishes the criminal behavior of her bullies so they get locked up in Azkaban, it all seems worth it. But she hadn't seen that part yet.

"But enough wasting time. Get the trunk. We still need to sneak him back into school before classes on Monday."
