Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Shadows of the Force. Enjoy the 1200-word chapter. I don't own RWBY and Star Wars. Monty Oum, Lucas Films, and Rooster Teeth do.
(City of Vale, Remnant, Vale docks 12:30 PM)
Ozpin had gotten contacted by the Oracle? He had questions but in his lifetime? He found it better to listen rather than ask, those questions usually had answers to themselves.
He took a sip of his tea only to notice ripples in the liquid which caused him to direct his gaze upwards. He watched a craft descend, the white paint reminded him of Atlas, as did the symbol on the side… But the artwork of a creature similar to a Grimm told him this was NOT Atlesian manufacturing.
The craft settled down on the water's edge while the doors opened. A squad of white armored soldiers, all covered with slight blueish black armor lines filed out. They swept their rifles around before who Ozpin could only assume was 'Lerek' walked through them.
The boy's snow-white eyes seemed to pierce through him. He also noticed there were 4 fingers on each of his hands. He had a cylinder on his belt which he assumed was the boy's weapon. He wore a hooded robe over a simple tunic.
"Mr. Zun." Lerek heard which caused him to blink.
"How did you…" Lerek started to question before closing his eyes. "The Oracle. You must be Ozpin." Lerek added as he turned to his clones.
The Arkanian made a gesture, and the clones lowered their weapons. Lerek shook his head and walked forward towards the man.
"You are not from Remnant, are you?" Ozpin asked and got a stern no gesture.
"My kind is from Arkania, but I was born on Taris," Lerek stated and got a nod. "I'm going to take a guess you're silently telling me you DON'T know about those planets, and they don't exist here?" Lerek asked and got another nod.
"I do have questions like you, Mr. Zun," Ozpin stated while gesturing behind him. "Shall we continue this somewhere more private?" Ozpin added while Lerek turned.
"Return to the ship, I'll be back soon," Lerek ordered as the clones nodded and piled back into the gunship. "You seem calm for someone who doesn't understand much. I'm surprised you aren't shocked to see the Oracle. I've never known who the hell he was until a few hours ago." Lerek added to which Ozpin merely sipped his drink again.
"I'm familiar with forces beyond human comprehension, Mr. Zun," Ozpin added to which Lerek held up a hand.
"Lerek," Lerek added as the gunship lifted off. "General or not? I don't like the serious stuff unless I have to. The war me and the republic are fighting is already bad enough on things." Lerek added while the duo walked towards the school.
"Yes, he told me about this war of flesh and machinery," Ozpin added, gaining a hum from Lerek. "You should be aware I am used to forces of mythical origin. How about you explain what these 'Arkanians' are first?" Ozpin questioned, getting a nod from Lerek.
"They're mostly like me," Lerek added, gesturing to himself while he cracked his fingers. "Smart, full of themselves, able to see into the thermal spectrum, live to be 200 years. Most of them aren't Jedi, you don't stick cybernetics into your body and use the force just like that." Lerek put in as he turned to Ozpin.
"The force?" Ozpin questioned, pausing every step to place his cane upon the ground.
"Damn it, now I have to explain what jedi's powers are…" Lerek joked before rubbing at his chin. "It's an energy field that ALL living beings are connected to. My side is part of the lighter side of said energy field…. Our enemies tap into the darker side of it." Lerek added to Ozpin's surprise.
"We have such darker enemies before." Lerek heard, gaining a raised eyebrow in the process.
"Yes, well?" Lerek asked and brushed his robes off. "I'm going to take a wild guess and say it ISNT going to help to have an army above you. I brought everyone to orbit in case something goes wrong." Lerek added which got a nod.
"Yes, things are fragile here without visitors. I can see why you'd come alone." Ozpin added before he rubbed at his chin. "But you are aware there is no trust between us yet just because there is no war, yes?" Ozpin asked while Lerek shrugged.
"Better than people cutting each other to shreds over nothing, right?" Lerek asked, tapping a gloved hand against his chin. "I'm not as much of a scholar as the other Jedi are, war means being more adaptive when it comes down to it," Lerek stated, pausing only to take a breath.
"I want you to know if I wanted you or this city dead? It'd be gone." Lerek added and crossed his arms. "Right now, my concerns are about my soldiers, where the enemy my men fought went. Basic things any general would worry about. I'm not one to do things 'by the book.' But…" Lerek started to say before Ozpin spoke up as they reached the hill's base.
"Any good leader puts their people before themselves." Ozpin put in, starting to climb the hill. "These 'Jedi'? They are peacekeepers, yes? You do not appear to be a conqueror, a warlord, a dictator…. But what do I know? We have only just met." Ozpin stated while Lerek chuckled.
"I'm pretty sure most dictators would make a show of force," Lerek responded with a brush of his cloak. "But you have a point, we have no reason to be allies. I apologize for being crass, my friend Ruzul doesn't mince words as I do." Lerek added, following behind the man.
"And where is he currently?" Ozpin added to which no answer was given. "Then we are at a stalemate. You have the information I wish to know; YOU have questions I hold." Ozpin put in while Lerek hummed to himself.
"You're quite the scholar," Lerek added before he crossed his arms.
"I'm as much a teacher as I am a warrior," Ozpin added, turning to Lerek. "You were a student at one point, weren't you?" Ozpin questioned while Lerek drew in his cloak.
"All Jedi are, Mr. Ozpin," Lerek responded and cracked his neck. "Anyway, why don't we continue this inside? It is your school; I'll promise to be as much of a good guest as I can." Lerek added before the duo continued their walk.
Lerek simply thought to himself as he walked, curious as to what came next. The Oracle seemed to have his plans. He knew for a fact there was going to be his plans he had to make.
