"Shuu," Reiji's voice pulls the blonde from his thoughts as he walked towards his room. "You've been quite absent from your classes these past few weeks. Do you have any excuse for them?"

Shuu gives his brother his usual unresponsive glance before turning and continuing toward his bedroom. The sound of Reiji's tongue clicking with a not-so-hushed "deadbeat" was heard through his earbuds.

He really didn't have to answer to his brother. Even with the accumulated absences, Shuu was smart enough to do any homework that needed to be done and pass any test he wanted to without a single missed answer. His brother was just being the tight-ass that he usually is cause he is trying to suck up to their father.

Lazily stepping down the short flight of stairs down into his room, Shuu takes a quick glance out his floor-to-ceiling windows to the rising sun before tossing himself onto his bed. He has been in the churchboy's room the entire night, his libido itching him to just take a small bite of his skin. The self-control that he didn't know he had kept him from doing anything rash. And it really wasn't until the early morning when he heard footsteps making their way towards the room that Shuu finally decides that he's been there long enough to make himself known to the sick churchboy. And hopefully, he would be better in the days following.

"You look like you're feeling better," Grace says as she hands Saul a cup of water with electrolyte powder mixed in and sets a can of ginger ale on his bedside table.

"Stomach is still making weird sounds, but at least I don't feel like throwing up anymore." He responds as he chugs the large glass.

"What do you think got you sick? We ate the same things that morning."

Saul thought of what Father Tadaaki brought over the morning before, and he remembered that he was the only one that ate the smelt fish.

"The fish…" He tells his sister. "I was the only one that ate the fish. That's probably what got me sick."

Grace nods as she also remembers that. "Well, I'll just have to tell father and let him know that Father Tadaaki must have served us old fish without knowing." She picks up the empty glass before heading out of the room. "Take the day to recover. I'll bring you something to eat later if you're feeling better."

Saul nods, giving his little sister a weak smile before looking out the window. It was early afternoon, but he was still fatigued from the slight fever he was still running. His clothes drenched with sweat, clinging to his skin and causing him to shiver. Feeling gross, Saul decides to try to take a shower. Aside for Grace, who was down in the living room, no one was in the home. Grabbing a change of clothes, he staggers his way to the other end of the hall and enters the one bathroom everyone in the home needs to share. How do they have 4 bedrooms in one house but only one bathroom? Saul wasn't going to voice the issue out loud, but it definitely bothered him a bit. Poor Grace and Rebecca having to share one with 5 other boys. At least their eldest didn't come. There probably wouldn't be any more room for another 6 foot 2 demon hunter in the tiny home.

Turning on the shower, he is hit with a sudden stream of cold water before it slowly begins to warm up. But the sudden coolness brought up a very faded memory of a man laying a cool hand on his face. Was that last night? It felt like a fever dream. But Saul definitely remembers a stranger sitting at the edge of his bed, taking off the towel from his forehead. He was going to leave, but the coolness of his skin felt euphoric, causing him to grab his hand and place it back onto his face before the feeling let him doze off soundly.

But the man, who was he and how did he get there?

"How much school do you think you could miss before Karl finds you skipping classes again?" Subaru asks Shuu as he watches him change into a light blue buttondown and reach for his favorite sweater.

"I don't think he really cares," Shuu tells his little brother, buttoning the middle flat button of the cardigan. "Plus, it's the weekend. I don't give a shit about what they think I do outside the home."

Subaru does a bit of a side nod and spins the knife between his fingers. "And the fact that they are vampire hunters?"

Shuu doesn't say anything as he changes the song he was listening to and pushes in the earbuds deeper into his ears, showing that it was also another thing he didn't give a shit about.

Subaru clicks his tongue. "See you in the morning, I guess." He stood from the sofa and disappears from the room, leaving Shuu to his own thoughts once again.

Looking out the windows, he watches the clouds cover the waning moon and stars. He wouldn't admit it out loud, but he was excited to see the churchboy.

Saul lies awake in the middle of the night. He slept all day and he was really feeling better after the shower and some soft food in his stomach. He was no longer tired, but the motivation to pray wasn't there. He didn't know what it was, but usually, if he was up at night, he chose to pray. But not tonight. Something was keeping him from that, and he didn't know what.

There was a sudden weight shift in the room causing him to sit up quickly and look toward the far corner of the room. And there he was, the strange man from the night before. Almost appearing out of thin air. Actually, he probably did appear from thin air. There was no way he got into the room from the window that was on the second story without making a sound. Unless…

"You're real." Saul was able to say in a whisper.

"Would you have been disappointed if I wasn't?" Shuu replies to him, taking a few steps forward toward the bed.

"I just thought that you were a fever dream." Saul takes in the stranger's aura. It's cold but comforting. In the dark and without his glasses, he could barely make out the figure of the man. "But I could only assume that…"

Saul pauses as he watches the man walk closer to his bed. He sits up more comfortably to be able to look up at the dark figure that loomed over him.

"You're a vampire."

Shuu isn't surprised that he figured it out. He wasn't hiding it, but he also knew that as a vampire hunter, he would have the intuition to take an educated guess to figure out that someone isn't human.

But Shuu doesn't say anything. He just continues to gaze at the churchboy, taking in the shadows on his face from the barely visible moonlight being lit outside. Sitting down at the edge of his bed, he stretches out his hand and goes to touch the chuchboy's face like before, only for him to flinch away.

"You are the one causing those girls to become possessed," Saul tells him, a bit of fear heard in his voice.

He had no idea why he was trembling. This wasn't his first vampire encounter. He's been hunting and killing vampires and demons for as long as he can remember. While thankfully he has never been bitten, he has been close to being bit a few times in the past. But even thinking about those events, he wasn't as scared as he was at this moment. Though, he thought to himself: was it really fear that he was feeling? Or something completely new. He wasn't running away. He didn't even have his weapons near him in case the vampire in front of him went in to devour him.

"Those were my brothers. I have no interest in little games like those." Shuu replies to him, continuing to reach out his hand to touch his warm skin. This time without a flinch.

Saul takes in the cool comfort of his hand. It was large but gentle. Touching his cheek with the thumb gliding over half of his lips.

"You shouldn't let me do this, according to your God," Shuu states under his breath before leaning in and meeting the churchboy's lips for the first time.

Saul was caught by surprise, but unlike the first touch, he did not flinch. He had no idea what to do since he has never kissed anyone before this, but the shape of his lips fused together with the vampires almost perfectly. The skin of his lips being warm, compared to the hand that was still on his cheek.

After a few moments, Shuu leans back, feeling the dam of self-control breaking and letting loose the need for this guy's blood. Trailing down to his neck, Shuu grabs the churchboy's chin and turns it away to gain access to his neck, running his lips down the smooth skin and smelling the natural beeswax bar soap on him. Licking his lips in anticipation, Shuu takes a quick second to suck on his skin before sinking in his fangs into Saul's neck.

Saul let out a hushed gasp, a tremble running through his body at the sudden adrenaline from the bite. So this is what it felt like? It wasn't painful, like how people have described it to be. Even with the smell and taste of iron making its way to his senses, he didn't feel like he was dying. There was completely something else. Lust?

Shuu finally releases himself from his skin, licking the loose blood away and healing the puncture wounds on his neck. Leaning back up to the churchboy, Shuu takes in the flushed expression in the dark and had the dignity to try to hold himself back from taking the virgin. Oh yeah, he could taste that he was a virgin. His blood was so rich, delicate, sweet, and… holy. Hell, he is going to make it his mission to fuck the holiness out of the churchboy. He wanted him even more now. Him and his blood.
