Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Shadows of the Force. Enjoy the 3500-word chapter. I don't own RWBY and Star Wars. Monty Oum, Lucas Films, and Rooster Teeth do.
(Venator Class Cruiser, Trailblazer, Remnant 1:20 PM November 13th.)
Lerek sighed and snapped up the datapad while examining it. the information on it was interesting. He looked at the movie and decided he could enjoy himself and observe the information.
He looked at it. a report from Drifter. It mentioned a Separatist shuttle had been spotted heading to an island close to the city. He frowned.
"Hey, do you…?" Lerek asked as Blake nodded and allowed the Arkanian to sit up and peel himself from the bed.
He tapped the report. A small force. It looked like the start of a staging area. Amassing troops for an attack on Vale? He hummed and typed a response. If the droids were up to something? He'd handle it.
"Something going on?" Lerek heard as his pointy ears twitched behind him. "Your very bad at hiding things," Blake said as Lerek sighed.
"There are signs of the Separatists making a move near Vale. Drifter just reported a shuttle heading to an island maybe 10 miles from Vale." Lerek stated before he sighed. "Well, guess I'll go check that out and let General Ironwood know. I'm guessing you're going to stay here while I and Drifter go handle this?" Lerek questioned, an eyebrow raised at the Faunus.
She said nothing but slowly seemed to sit back up. Lerek only rolled his eyes and sighed as he realized she'd be coming as well.
"I'll tell Drifter you're be joining us then," Lerek said as he started to type in some commands on the datapad before sending the message. "I do need to warn you, someone dangerous might be there if this is a droid base? The count will have someone important in charge of it." Lerek stated before he tilted his head to the side.
He was honestly curious as of the second. Still? He supposed that there was no harm in handling this with her help.
"Alright, I'll talk to Drifter. I just need him to tell Senator Organa and Master Kenobi what's going on before we get onto this." Lerek said before starting to type up the message.
(Venator Class Cruiser Negotiator)
Bail's Consular-Class Cruiser landed in the hanger as a pair of 212th clones saluted the group. Obi-Wan looked at his datapad before turning to Senator Organa as the group exited the craft.
"It seems we won't be talking to Master Zun or Ms. Belladonna for the time being," Obi-Wan stated before he began to gesture the group towards the bridge. "If the Separatists are rallying for an attack on Vale, I do believe there may indeed be more danger here than we suspected," Obi-Wan added to which General Ironwood fell silent.
"These Separatists use an arch of machine-like soldiers, yes? The wreckage from the battlefield shows automated combat droids. They are usually all machines?" Ironwood questioned to which there were nods. "Then you forgive me for not entirely trusting the Jedi. The Atlesian Military does deploy a rather large portion of machines." Ironwood added before Bail hummed, rubbing at his temples.
"If the Republic wanted a war that badly, General? It would not have sent me and Master Kenobi to try and forge an alliance." Bail said before turning to said Jedi. "I believe we should talk to Master Yoda right away. We will need fuel and reinforcements sooner or later. With a Separatist attack? It would also be best to get Master Yoda's perspective on this." Bail added to which there was a nod
(Trailblazer hanger bay)
The LAAT settled into the hanger. There were 6 in total being readied. Lerek knew better than to send a full force unless they force any evidence of a larger enemy presence.
The door slid open and he was greeted by Drifter and a squad of 307th Clones. They saluted the Arkanian Jedi and Faunus Huntress as they climbed aboard. It was time for this to end.
The duo boarded the gunship as the hanger bay doors opened. A pair of ARC-170 fighters and a trio of BTL-B Y-Wings flew ahead of the Republic Sortie as their craft exited the cruiser's hanger. They were going to need to be swift, decisive, and hit the enemy entirely.
He sighed to himself. It was going to be an interesting day. He turned to Blake as she seemed to question what to do next. There was a lot more coming towards them, a lot more that couldn't be handled, couldn't be stopped easily.
"I just want you to know there's a very high chance we die doing this. The Separatists are going to try and shoot down every little ship that gets near their airspace." Lerek added as Drifter tuned in.
"Sir? I and the recon teams are being pinned down, Separatists are hitting the air with everything they got at the moment, it's not that pretty." Drifter reported as Lerek brought his comlink to his face.
"We're land near your position and clear out the droids, Drifter. Send your coordinates and we will see what we can do. Lerek out for now." Lerek responded as their craft slowly raced over the water like oversized insects.
Still? They had been through a lot. They were fast and their size belayed the amount of speed and agility they could use.
Lerek was about to turn to Blake when an explosion rocked the air, followed by at least 2 more. Lerek glanced out the window and remembered that they were being fired at by the enemy.
Lerek sighed as the Arkanian realized the enemy was going to hit them harder and faster than it'd be possible. The more power they put trying to repel them. It had been something that they wanted to put down.
Lerek almost questioned where the air defenses were before a familiar noise split the air. Vulture Droids, they had made vulture droids here which meant that they had been dug in long enough to probably set up an airfield.
Still? They were in the way. That meant they'd get shut down fast. The gunships spread out as their air support spread out to try and handle them while their escorts stayed behind to attempt to stem the tide of the enemy.
Still? It was going to be a lot more interesting to see how best this would go. The air seemed to crackle and blister with the energy from the enemy as blaster fire started to erupt and cut it open. It had made him very curious as to what the hell the droids were doing.
There was an explosion outside as one of the crafts cut into pieces. The vulture droid exploded and came apart in an entire conflagration smoke and fire. It only told him of what was to come as things came apart into millions of pieces and split apart as it seemed to be a lot more interesting as of the second.
They all shared looks as they realized that the craft was going to be in danger sooner or later. It was going to be a lot more insane as of the second. It was a lot more interesting at the time. Still? It did not stop the fleet of republic ships which were now more resolved to pierce the enemy shield which was to be between them and their goal.
"Well, the welcome party is warm as usual," Lerek stated before he sighed to himself. "All units, take evasive action. They have AA. I and Blake will handle them on the ground and allow the reinforcements to come in." Lerek ordered before he drew his lightsaber from his belt.
Another blast of light lit up the area. They were closing in and he supposed that the enemy was trying to soften them up.
There was more on the line than he usually did when it came down to it. he had been interested in what was as of the moment. It had been something that he'd correct if they landed.
Still? It had been something that he wished to handle properly. There was a lot more on the line than normal. He sensed something was off.
"You can survive a drop, right?" Lerek questioned as he opened the doors.
"Yes," Blake said before Lerek nodded and dove out of the craft and towards the ground before this came down to it.
"Never a dull moment with the general, never a dull one at all." Lerek heard as he rolled his eyes.
He watched as the LAAT peeled off and Blake dove out for only a moment. She free-fell towards before he hummed to himself before he tilted his head to the side.
The Arkanian watched as the Trailblazer started to come in. He knew the Venator Class Cruiser couldn't do much for the time being. Its shields wouldn't hold up to the AA cannons which meant that there was only so much that air support could do to support them.
He turned his back in the middle of the air, aiming for a Vulture Droid as he hummed and slid down the war machine, slicing part of it to pieces as he did so. It had been a lot for them to handle anyway. There was a lot more on the line either way.
Blake unfurled Gambol Shroud and swung it at one of the droids. She swung an apex around the machine before she hummed and let go, being thrown into the base and watching as Lerek free-fell into the base. Lerek easily dodged an attempt to shoot him from the sky.
"Are most missions like this?" Blake questioned as Lerek hummed before he turned in midair towards her.
"Just about, yes," Lerek stated before he hummed to himself. "Just about, why? This is how most missions go for us, is there a problem with that?" Lerek questioned before he tilted his head.
He landed in a crouch as he surged forward at the many B1 droids which littered the ground. It had been a more interesting idea that there was a base within spitting distance when it came down to it. there was a lot more that couldn't be done and couldn't yet be dealt with.
His blade sliced through the first B1, freeing its head from its body as he sighed and rolled forward, slashing into one of the droids before force pushing the junk away. He surged forward towards the canons, hopeful to stop them before they shot down his men.
Before he could prepare for the rest of the droids? He heard the sound of metal being sliced through and turned to see Blake slice a B1 in half and kick another which shattered as her Aura smashed its metal shell into pieces.
He rolled his eyes before turning to deflect a barrage of blaster fire into the air. He sighed to himself as the cannon fire seemed to get deflected in every single direction.
"Drifter, where are you?" Lerek questioned as he rolled behind a piece of Durasteel to which Blake joined him.
"Southern end of the Isle, sir. The clankers sent a platoon to wipe us out. Gunship was shot down, me and the boys will dig in as long as we can." Drifter responded before he rolled his eyes himself.
"Don't do something crazy, Commander. We're clearing out the droid defenses for the air, then move towards your location." Lerek replied as he looked into the air. "I need you to the Trailblazer to stay back and offer fire support. We aren't throwing lives away." Lerek ordered as a Vulture Droid was shot from the sky.
The machine was sent crashing down to the ground, stopping only as it smashed into the ground and detonated an AAT that was gliding forward. Lerek looked at the airfield which was also where most of the cannon fire seemed to be coming from. It made him quite a bit curious as to the battle tactics that could be used here and applied to newer battles beyond this one.
He turned and sliced a B2 in half before flipping over a B1 and kicking another back. Blake somersaulted over his shoulder, only pausing to kick a B1 and shatter its face before turning and slicing another in 2 with Gambol Shroud. If these droids were the bulk of the enemy army? The might of what would come from the other world? Well, she wasn't exactly scared or impressed by the might of their armies nor their compassion towards others.
It had been a lot more interesting to see of the time what was to come. These droids were to fall and they would fall sooner or later. It had been a lot harder to fathom their ideals and there had been little more interesting as of the time being. It'd be a lot harder to fathom this if she weren't already.
Lerek turned and sliced another B1 while Blake tugged down a B2. He laughed at the Faunus Huntress as she smirked at the Arkanian Jedi. Their weapons seemed to dance through the air, cutting down droids left and right as both kicked and slashed through B1s, B2s, and the air itself.
Such an interest in what little was to come, such a small interest in the other was something grander.
"I'm starting to think all Huntresses and Huntsmen might just be Jedi who don't use the force!" Lerek said before forcing a group of B1s into the wall.
The remaining droids seemed to retreat as Lerek turned towards the Photon guns. Lerek knew their air assault wouldn't last if the guns weren't destroyed, weren't taken down, and out of commission sooner. The sooner they were able to stand shoulder to shoulder with the droids, the better.
"So, this is what a normal battle with the 'Separatists' is like?" Blake questioned as she laid her weapon across the small of her back.
"Mostly, yes. They're very stupid when it comes to anything that isn't just trying to smash us with battle droids." Lerek said before he leaped onto one of the guns and began to work the controls. "Drifter? We've landed on the northern side of the aisle and disabled the guns, what's your status?" Lerek questioned as he brought a hand to his ear and sighed before he glanced around with some interest at what was to come.
This was going to be a long battle. A very long battle and one which he knew would be a long time than they cared to be in as of the time being. A much longer time.
Still? he suspected there was something that could be done at the time. it'd be a lot harder for her to question what to say or do when it came down to it. there was more to be said and done at the time.
A lot more to say or do either way. It'd be odder than anything she expected that had been coming down to it. This had to end sooner or later. It was to be an odder thing than it had been beforehand. It'd be a harder thing as well to fathom.
"Roger, General. Most of the droids are on the other side of the island. The droids are dug in here and I don't know how long…" Drifter said before more blaster fire was heard over the comm. "Sir? I'll meet you inside. I and the boys are going to shut down the majority of the guns and meet you inside. We're just going to need to tie up some loose ends on our side." Drifter said before he sighed to himself.
She hummed and questioned what was to happen if she didn't stop him. It'd be a very hard pill to swallow. One which she couldn't imagine doing for a long time.
He sighed before he looked around and seemed to question what to do next. This would either end, or it'd all come crashing down in a blast of flames and destroy everything. It couldn't be understated before too long had passed and something terrible would have fallen over the world… Still? there was little in the way of plans that could be done to handle this when it came down to it.
"We need to get onto the mission before something stops us. I don't know what is going to happen at the moment." Lerek said before he drew his weapon and punched a button that fired the gun into its cousin. "All units? The northern guns are down and the droids are routed for now. Any gunship units are free to land here. I'll handle the further details when the rest of the guns are down." Lerek stated before he sighed to himself.
Blake looked at the Faunus as more Vulture Droids seemed to join the air. It almost seemed as if they wished to deal with the fact some of the guns had gone down. Still? She doubted the remaining droids would surrender or retreat.
He sighed and almost seemed to question what was coming at the moment. There were to be more droids that were coming to this place and they all knew that the battle wouldn't end so easily in this manner.
Still? if there were to be any clones dispatched? He'd almost wish to risk the Trailblazer. It'd be better to bomb the island and sweep through what was left than throw soldiers at an entrenched position. This was going to be dicey and as a general, he was well aware of the cost coming with it now.
The two warriors glanced onto the rest of the isles, their weapons before they stepped off the stone before this came down to it. There was a lot more to handle when it came down to it. Blake was a lot more curious as of the second, it had been a lot more interesting.
"There will be more droids inside," Lerek said while he gestured with his hand holding his lightsaber. "Are you sure you want to come with me?" Lerek questioned before he watched the woman nod.
He sighed to himself and smiled while he shook his head before this was all said and done. He smiled at the woman before he hummed and stepped down from the cannon as a pair of LAATs passed overhead. More droids were approaching, a lot more than it had been a few seconds ago
Blake watched as clones started to pile off and spread out, their rifles snapping up before she glanced around as she hummed to herself.
"Are you ok?" Blake questioned before she hummed to herself before more droids emerged from the bunker. "I'm guessing that there will be more droids all over this place?" Blake questioned as Lerek nodded before more B1s marched forward.
"Well, they're not smart, but they have numbers. You still sure you want to…?" Lerek heard before Blake charged forward and unfurled her blade in one fluid motion. "Heh. That's nice. I'm almost enjoying this." Lerek said before he ignited his lightsaber and charged down the hill and into the field of droids.
It made him curious as to what the Faunus woman was going to do next when it came down to it. There were a lot more thoughts on the General's mind when it came to battling the droid army and the woman.
Still? he had a lot more on the battlefield to worry about like the droid army and their defenses. It had been a lot harder than he had begun when it came down to come down to it.
He brought his weapon through the droids before a Vulture Droid opened fire on the Clones. Lerek cursed as he realized there was still no shortage of droid fighters in the sky and little in the way of air support against the droid lines.
Blake opened fire as the slugs from her weapon seemed to crash into the battle droids. She was quick to deflect or dodge droid fire from their army.
She hummed before she kicked one of the B1s and tossed it into the ground before she spun around Lerek started to deflect more droid fire away from her. The two stared at each other as more B2s began to join their weaker cousins in the attack on the droids.
This was a lot more interesting than she expected. She almost wondered what her friends would say if they could say to her as of that moment when it came down to it.
There was to be a long day when it came down to it as of now.
Author Notes
Phew. Another chapter is done! I want to point out that Adam and the White Fang will be the main enemy of the duo. The next chapter will be in 2-10 months and will set up both Lerek and Blake fighting the rest of the army. Until the 900-6500 words when it comes down to it. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
