So, I feel like it's pretty obvious by this point, but I did want to officially confirm that I am no longer actively writing this story. Unfortunately, the way the show ended killed my love of writing this story and my fondness for Jaime's character. I just can't find it in myself to continue writing something I no longer find any joy in. To help alleviate any disappointment, I have included some major points below from my outline of the rest of the story:
* Amarah is given Storm's End by Daenerys as reward for her loyalty to Dany's claim to the throne.
* Jon rules with Dany, being the only person alive capable of keeping her in check (and not by unaliving her).
* Jaime marries Amarah, but she keeps her own name, carrying on the Baratheon line through their children.
* Tyrion is given Casterly Rock and carries on the Lannister name through his line of descendants.
* Sansa is given control of the North and takes on the title of Queen of the North with Sandor Clegane at her side.
* Brienne becomes head of the king's/queen's guard, and she and Amarah share an emotional goodbye. Jaime finally pays her a sincere compliment.
*Arya leaves, pretty much just like the end of the show.
* Jaime and Amarah slowly heal from the trauma of their lost child and go on to have many black-haired babies over the years.
I know that outline points are not what many people who read this story were hoping for, but as things stand, it's the best way I can think of to finally put an end to this unfinished story that's been hanging over my head for the past several years. Thank you to anyone who took the time to read this and leave lovely comments. If you are interested in reading any other work of mine, I am posting over on Ao3 these days, though in a completely different fandom. However, I do have a oneshot of House of the Dragon in my works over there if anyone is interested in checking that out. My username is the same as on this website. Again, I apologize for any disappointment this post may have caused, but truly thank you for taking the time to read so far through this story and follow along with Amarah's journey. This was the first fanfiction I ever wrote, and it truly makes me cringe to read back through some of the earliest chapters of this work, but at the same time, I am beyond grateful for it and wouldn't change a thing, because this story, the mistakes I made while writing it, and the readers of it helped shape me into the writer I am today, eleven years after posting the first chapter of Amarah and Jaime's story. i wouldn't trade the experience of writing this story for the world, no matter how it might have ended. From every story, we learn a little, and from this one I learned a whole lot.
