Chapter 46: Word Weaver

Before school that morning, Adrien Agreste has a photo shoot. It's his first modeling work since the whole fiasco at the end of Phase Two. His bodyguard makes sure he gets there, as Nathalie is still "out of town," which means that Amelie Graham de Vanily and Felix are still staying at the Agreste manor, in charge of watching Adrien.

He isn't the only one out and about that morning. Chloe Bourgeois is in her father's limo, making demands to the chauffeur. She's also chatting with Sabrina Raincomprix, sending a list of items she'd like before first period. Sabrina agrees to fetch them and is rather chipper. Chloe's father is trying to show up her mother by spoiling Chloe as they're on the verge of a divorce.

Shortly afterward, Chloe's limo passes by Adrien's photo shoot. She orders the chauffeur to stop; she gets out and walks right onto the shoot as if she owns the place. Adrien Agreste greets her but does tell her that she can't just walk onto the set. Chloe says she can; she's the mayor's daughter, after all. When the photographer hears that, he realizes he can expand his viewership. He invites Chloe to participate in the shoot as long as her father puts in a good word for him. Chloe says "she'll think about asking daddy," which is enough for the photographer to pull her in anyway. So Adrien and Chloe wind up modeling together. Chloe is absolutely thrilled; Adrien handles it like a professional.

In Chloe's purse, her phone starts vibrating. It's Sabrina, wondering where Chloe is. They had agreed to meet in front of school before classes began. If something came up, can Chloe please text to let Sabrina know? However, Chloe is too preoccupied and doesn't even notice. Sabrina's abandonment issues kick in as she begins to send more messages to Chloe. There's no denying that Chloe has completely ghosted her friend.

As Sabrina waits, getting more stressed out as she relives the terrible things Miranda Edgarov (from the Evil Empress chapter) put her through, other students arrive and greet their friends. Mireille Caquet finds Aurore Beaurel. Mireille asks if anything is wrong as Aurore has been distracted lately. Aurore denies it as she can't tell Mireille she's Honey Bee. …Or can she? She does need an ally she can trust to watch her back and cover for her should she lose control of her powers (she shudders). Much to Stella Tenebrae's surprise, Suzette Rault approaches her to ask for advice on stretches for gymnastics. Nicolette Lacroix shows up with several bracelets she made herself, and Yvonne Garnier and Genevieve Faucher offer to buy them from her. Cameran Tyler is watching his favorite American baseball team on his cell phone before he has to turn it off for class. Jean Duparc notices and comments he likes soccer better, but Cameran can't deny his American roots and loves baseball. They begin to discuss sports, which pulls Guy Nigels and Jakeel Aristide into the conversation. Pierre Lefevre is going through the motions in a daze, still stunned by the events of yesterday and Lila Rossi being suspended. Tsuyu Asui makes a point of stopping by Fumikage Tokoyami's locker to ask him how things went the prior night with Ladybug and Cat Noir and how Dark Shadow handled it (as she wanted to discuss this with him alone and not with the rest of the B Team the prior night). Fumikage replies that things went as planned; nothing unusual or dangerous happened, and they were stunned to meet Dark Shadow. He closes his locker before she can peek inside—because inside is a picture of her, surrounded by a cute lilypad frame. Nathaniel Kurtzberg runs to Marc Anciel. One of the agents they queried is interested. The agent is going to call them that evening—they might be able to land a publishing deal! Giselle Winters-Blanchet notices the art teacher needs help cleaning spilled paint. She volunteers to help, the entire time "don't be an inconvenience, take initiative and help others" echoes in her head. (All classes can be found: (( photos . app . goo . gl / cgLSrNi71rxfep9e8 )) – just remove spaces.)

The bell rings, and everyone heads to class. Chloe Bourgeois and Adrien Agreste arrive at the very last minute. The whole time, Sabrina Raincomprix has been growing more and more anxious. She's relieved when she sees Chloe. However, Chloe doesn't even bother to greet her; she's too busy making eyes at Adrien.

Miss Bustier is about to begin her lecture when Madam Gros enters. She says it's time to interview Nino Lahiffe, so he excuses himself and heads to her office. Nino gets comfortable as Dolores Gros does her usual interview questions about family, emotions, and hobbies. Nino is incredibly laidback, so she can't draw out many details to his emotions at all. Nino says he's happy with his family and girlfriend, and loves his life going to school and getting work as a DJ/sound crew.

Madam Gros notes that he was once akumatized into Bubbler; does that mean he has a problem with authority? Nino says he doesn't. In fact, he has a lot of respect for his parents and his teacher. He does let it slip that his best friend's father (Gabriel Agreste) frustrates him because of how much he controls Adrien's life. But he can't be mad now. "The dude is, like, in a coma." He concludes with saying he's happy when the people around him are happy, and he wants to be the one to protect their smiles.

Madam Gros tries to dig for any darkness he might have. She notes that in elementary school, his family wasn't well off at all. How does he feel about that? How has he adapted? Nino shrugs. He says it was hard, especially as a little kid when he couldn't do much to help. But his mom has found a much better job. And if it came down to it, he would work too to help support his little brother. He's very laidback still, basically saying "these things just happen, so you deal with them."

The counselor thanks him for his time and dismisses him back to class. She then writes him off as well. He has no ambition, no drive—something like him could never use a miraculous properly. (Of course ironic since he's Carapace.) Madam Gros considers her list of students. Since Pierre Lefevre was akumatized recently, she calls him out of Ms. Mendeleiev's class.

Once he's seated, the difference in his demeanor and Nino's is apparent. Pierre is depressed over everything that happened in the prior chapter. There's a certain level of self-blame going on as well as denial since he still thinks that deep-down, Lila Rossi is a good person. It doesn't take Madam Gros long to coax out his thoughts and emotions (all discussion of family, dreams, and hobbies wind up brushed aside). Pierre Lefevre finds Lila amazing because of her looks, all of her talents, and all of her experiences traveling the world (he cannot accept those are lies). He says he sees her as a bright light in the middle of the school. He doesn't even believe the negative things she said about him in the last chapter—he blames the akuma for those.

Madam Gros wonders why Pierre chooses to believe Lila over everything. He insists it's because she needs someone to believe in her, someone who will defend her, like a knight. He says he'll do whatever it takes.

Madam Gros then asks him about his thoughts towards Hawk Moth. Pierre is definitely hostile, blaming Hawk Moth for everything that happened in the Truthsayer chapter. When the counselor asks him about Ladybug and Cat Noir, Pierre hesitates. Dolores Gros encourages him to continue. Pierre then admits that he knows his opinion isn't popular, but he blames Ladybug and Cat Noir for Lila being hurt. They stopped Truthsayer from revealing Alya framed Lila. They let Lila get hit with Truthsayer's whip, forcing her to say things she didn't want to say. (Of course, the irony that he was Truthsayer is lost on him. However, this shows he has some memories of his time as Truthsayer, which means part of him at least wanted to be akumatized and/or enjoyed it.) While Paris might see the golden duo as heroes, Pierre can't help but feel as long as they're around, people are going to get hurt. If none of the miraculous existed, Lila would be in school with him right now (again, denial that Lila got suspended through no interaction with the real miraculous at all.)

Madam Gros smiles. She's found someone perfect. Someone who displays a strong will and focus—especially against miraculous wielders. It's someone who has a strong concept of justice that aligns with her mission—and enough darkness that a lapse of conscience won't be an issue. Madam Gros turns her back a moment. When she faces him again, it's to set her miraculous box in front of him.

Pierre's eyes go wide as he asks what this is.

Madam Gros explains that she's the leader of an elite team that has one mission: remove all miraculous from the public eye. If her team is successful, Pierre would get his wish—no miraculous would exist in Paris. And in order to succeed against Hawk Moth, Mayura, Ladybug, and Cat Noir, she needs allies—allies just like Pierre Lefevre.

Pierre has no internal debate; he sees no red flags. He asks Madam Gros what he has to do to help.

Madam Gros studies the miraculous available. Like the eastern miraculous box that Master Fu has, there's several levels. The empty inner circle, where the ladybug and black cat would go in the eastern box, is a single slot with a symbol of an elephant. It is surrounded by four slots, all of which are also empty (in the eastern box, this is the similar location that the mantis, peacock, butterfly, fox, and turtle would go). The symbols on these slots include a rhino and a salamander. That leaves twelve drawers on the side, the same as the eastern box. All twelve drawers still contain their miraculous.

The counselor selects one miraculous from a drawer. It's a blindfold. Madam Gros hands it to Pierre and explains that this is the miraculous of the Libra, which represents (something that will be determined when all the canon aspects have been revealed). It has the power of Polarity. If Pierre chooses to accept it, he is swearing loyalty to the cause of the Western Order of the Miraculous and their mission to keep all miraculous a secret from the world at large. When that mission is accomplished, he is to return the blindfold to Dolores. Until then, he is tasked with total secrecy and reclaiming the miraculous from Team Hawk Moth and Team Ladybug. He is not to act until he receives word from Dolores herself. Does he accept?

Pierre does and takes the blindfold from her. As he does so, a kwami forms, freaking him out. The kwami introduces himself as Dee—a stag. Dee tells Pierre that they are to be partners. When the time comes, he will teach Pierre the words he needs to transform. Until then, Dee is going to stay by his side, teach him about the miraculous of the Libra, help him keep the order a secret, and work out a plan to succeed against the Eastern Order of the Miraculous, who have violated the sacred rules of secrecy by allowing miraculous into Paris. Pierre just gapes with his jaw hanging open the whole time. Once his brain engages again, he says he fully accepts the terms laid out. Madam Gros thanks him for his cooperation and tells him to be on the lookout for her messages. Pierre says he will. He ties the blindfold around his forehead like a headband. Dee slips into his bag. He heads back to class. His mind is running a mile a minute as he puzzles over everything, but there's a definite spring in his step. This is the path to impressing Lila!

School lets out, and students mingle by the lockers and greet their friends who are in other classes. Sabrina talks to Chloe, but Chloe orders her to distract Kagami Tsurugi while she (Chloe) talks to Adrien. Ivan Bruel hands Max Kante back his game. Ivan had test played it over the weekend and said it was great. He offers Max some feedback, which Max is thrilled to accept. Raissa Deschamps and Giselle Winters-Blanchet find their friend Meera Pugliese, who is in a different class. She's busy with her cell phone and shows them an article she found that insists that the miraculous are actually alien technology. Raissa and Giselle are greatly amused. Suzette Rault flags her best friend, Marie Chauveau, over to show her something on her cell phone. Marie's eyes light up with the discovering, and both girls turn to look at Tristan Fortier, who is talking with his girlfriend, Rachel Beauchene.

Tristan senses they're looking at him, but he tries not to make eye contact. Everyone knows how obsessed those two are with yaoi fiction and how they try to force real, straight guys to act gay. However, despite his best attempts to ignore them, they approach him anyway. Suzette shoves her cell phone in Tristan's face. It's a youtube video of someone reading a picture book for young children, including giving all the characters fun voices. Tristan pales slightly and stammers, denying it.

Suzette calls him out. One of the librarians at the local public library told her the truth; that the reader goes to Francoise Dupont High School. It wasn't hard for her to figure out it's Tristan after that. Rachel wants to know what the problem is. She finds it a good thing that people volunteer to read books to children. It's important in helping children learn to read. Marie makes a grossed-out face and says that it's creepy when it's a guy because guys shouldn't be interested in little kids and babies and stuff like that.

Rachel, Meg, and even Guy look at her like she's sprouted three extra heads. Anyone can read a book to a child; it has nothing to do with being a guy or being a girl. Suzette repeats what he says in a mocking voice, mimicking the voices Tristan used in his video "it has nothing to do with being a guy or being a girl." Suzette and Marie laugh. Marie then turns to Guy and says if he's going to defend Tristan, the two should just start dating. (Because as overzealous yaoi fan girls, they simply cannot accept that the relationship of friendship even exists.) Rachel steps forward and takes Tristan's hand. As his girlfriend, she's right here.

Tristan's spine stiffens as she does so; his hands grow cold. Rachel looks over to see a shadow cross his eyes. He has just enough sanity left to shove her to the side. Then, he succumbs to the akuma none of them saw approaching. After hearing (female) Hawk Moth's usual spiel, Tristan is akumatized into Word Weaver. His powers involve creating real words out of what they're made of and doing what they say they do. As in, if he were to spell W-O-O-D with his fingers, a giant block of wood in the shape of those four letters would appear in front of him. If he were to spell out C-A-R, a car-shaped vehicle made out of those three letters would appear in front of him, capable of driving him places.

Guy snaps at Marie and Suzette. Hasn't anyone at Francoise Dupont High School learned yet not to bully each other or else this happens?! Suzette Rault huffs, and Marie Chauveau blames them for not accepting the truth of what she said. Guy Nigels tells them to get lost as he sends the akuma alert.

Marie and Suzette protest, but Word Weaver finger-spells S-I-L-E-N-C-E. The word "silence" appears like a bandage around both girls' mouths, effectively muting them. Rachel pleads with him to stop, just as she did for Meg way back in the Medusa chapter. Word Weaver strokes her hair—but then he pushes her aside to continue with his deal to Hawk Moth. Rachel takes that as a sign that Tristan is still fighting from the inside (which is something many akumatized victims could not do).

With the Akuma Alert out, all active superheroes go on alert. Adrien makes an excuse to wiggle away from Chloe and heads off to transform. Marinette ducks into an alleyway on her way home from school and transforms as well.

Cat Noir arrives to confront Word Weaver first. However, Word Weaver is fast with his finger spellings and signals C-A-G-E. The letters form a real cage, trapping him inside. When Ladybug arrives a moment later, she's the one who has to get him out so he doesn't waste his Cataclysm. Cat Noir smiles and thanks her. Ladybug has to look away abruptly so she doesn't lose control and start babbling.

The B Team is also coordinating their efforts. Dauphin and Dauphine admit they're too far away to make it in time. Alpha is nowhere near his spotter. Honey Bee replies, a bit frightened, as she's very close to where the akuma was sighted. Alpha tells her to get to safety if at all possible. She doesn't have to use her powers if she's uncomfortable with using them. But if it's an absolute emergency, she should use her powers to protect herself and other people. Snow Leopard chimes in, asking about the whole "spotter" rule and how much qualifies as an "emergency". Alpha points out that in emergencies, keeping people safe is the biggest priority, and to trust their guts.

Meanwhile, Ladybug and Cat Noir do their best to lure Word Weaver away from civilians. Once they're alone, they go after him head-on. Word Weaver, however, counters that he knew their plan. And it's okay with him. After all, he wants one thing—their miraculous. With them out of the picture, he can cut down anyone in Paris who'd dare look down on him.

As the fight continues, the scene changes to Pierre Lefevre, who is halfway to the subway on his way home from school. His cell phone buzzes with a text message. It's from Dolores Gros. "Now is your time to test your powers." He realizes that she's asking him to transform. He ducks into the nearest bathroom, and Dee zips out of his backpack. Dee acknowledges that it's Pierre's time to be a hero. He tells Pierre to repeat after him: "Prance, Dee!" Pierre does so, and the power of the Libra washes over him, turning him into a superhero.

His outfit is that of a stag, but there's motifs that make it look like a knight as well. This includes both antlers and fake deer ears, a fake white tail, hard boots to mimic hooves, and a gavel, which is his weapon. His mask is the blindfold, but his senses aren't hindered at all by it. The whole outfit is trimmed with silver. Pierre decides to call himself Sir Silver Hart in honor of being a knight out to protect his lady—if only Lila was around to see him now.

Meanwhile, Ladybug and Cat Noir are still trying to deal with Word Weaver. The civilians have pretty much been evacuated (everyone in Paris is getting good at evacuations), leaving them alone. He even barricades them in. Word Weaver proves to be skilled on the offense and defense. With things at a stalemate, Ladybug uses her Lucky Charm. She gets a Chinese finger trap.

Just as she and Cat Noir are about to enact their plan, Cat Noir is blindsided by an attack, taking a gavel to the lungs. As he goes sprawling, Ladybug looks around for the threat. She spies Sir Silver Hart, taking a stance against them. Cat Noir wheezes for breath, stating his surprise that Word Weaver has an ally. Word Weaver insists that the newcomer is not a friend of his.

Sir Silver Hart echoes the sentiment and states that he's an opponent of both of them. He's been tasked by his benefactor to take not only Hawk Moth and Mayura's miraculous, but Ladybug and Cat Noir's as well. Cat Noir wonders what he means by "benefactor." Ladybug points out that Sir Silver Hart isn't an akuma victim—his skin is too normal for that. Cat Noir then says "so, he's like Draco then?" Ladybug agrees.

The fight devolves into a three-way melee as Ladybug and Cat Noir fight Word Weaver who fights against them and Sir Silver Hart who fights against him and Ladybug and Cat Noir. Ladybug tries to trick Sir Silver Hart and Word Weaver into fighting each other, but they don't fall for her efforts.

Meanwhile, Aurore Beaureal has taken shelter; she can't evacuate as Word Weaver wound up using "barricade" to seal off the street with giant words spelled B-A-R-R-I-C-A-D-E. She trying to remain calm and keep the B Team updated as she's very close to the conflict. Alpha is trying to coordinate a rescue attempt, but no one can get there fast enough. He tells her to prioritize her own safety if need be. She accepts his advice and focuses on her breathing, tapping into the power of the bee comb.

In the fight, Sir Silver Hart reveals his ability: Polarity. When he activates it, the next two objects he strikes with his gavel will be polarized. They'll either attract or repel each other based on his choice. He's a stag and proves to be quite nimble. He manages to strike both Ladybug and Cat Noir, forcing them to be stuck together like magnets. Cat Noir gets quite flirty, and Ladybug's composure goes out the window. It's so bad that Cat Noir finally notices. He teasingly asks her if she's finally fallen for him.

Ladybug screams "NO!" to which Cat Noir replies that she didn't have to deny it so loudly. What he can't see behind him is that Word Weaver has had time to set up as massive E-L-E-C-T-R-I-C N-E-T. Ladybug rolls out of the way, dragging Cat Noir with her. They wind up tangled in each other's limbs and tripping. Sir Silver Hart leaps in, his gavel stretching and enlarging until it's like a mallet. He swings, sending them both sprawling into the wall. Word Weaver snaps that they're his prey. Both face off against each other. …But then they decide that the golden duo are the biggest threats. They'll take out Ladybug and Cat Noir first, then fight each other for the spoils afterward.

Cat Noir prays Ladybug has a plan. She says she has half of one—she just has to get Word Weaver close. "What about Sir Silver Hart?!" demanded Cat Noir. Ladybug says she's working on it. They can barely pick themselves up they're so tangled together.

Word Weaver finger-spells S-W-O-R-D and creates a weapon with those five letters. He swings. Cat Noir catches the blade with his baton as Ladybug feints and sticks the Lucky Charm, a Chinese finger trap, on Word Weaver's hands. This prevents him from using his powers.

However, this gives Sir Silver Hart an opening. With Ladybug defenseless from dealing with Word Weaver, the Libra use swings his gavel toward her abdomen. Cat Noir scrambles to protect Ladybug. But then…Sir Silver Hart completely freezes in the middle of his swing. The golden duo look around, confused. Behind Sir Silver Hart is Honey Bee; she managed to strike him with Venom from behind at the last possible moment. Ladybug breathes a sigh of relief and Cat Noir thanks her. Honey Bee admits she wasn't sure if she could enable her transformation in time—but she's glad they're safe.

Word Weaver is still struggling against the Chinese finger trap. This gives Ladybug and Cat Noir a window to steal the akumatized item and break it, freeing Tristan Fortier, who is thoroughly confused as to why he's in the middle of an empty lot. They look for Sir Silver Hart in order to subdue him and get answers. However, as they spin around, Draco is there, hauling Sir Silver Hart off. He smirks as he leaves, telling them that "this was a promising test" and "it's only the beginning." He proves to be too much for them to follow. With no other options, Ladybug does her world-healing wave. She and Cat Noir invite Honey Bee to join in with Pound It. She does so. Cat Noir offers to take Tristan back to his school as he (Cat Noir) has more time left before his transformation breaks. Ladybug nods and "bugs out."

A few blocks away, she hides and turns back to Marinette. As Marinette feeds Tikki, she admits that they need to stop Hawk Moth soon. Her heart can't handle knowing Cat Noir is Adrien much longer. Barkk is stunned to learn Marinette knows Cat Noir's identity—and it's the guy whose pictures are all over Marinette's bedroom. Tikki distracts her with a toy and then agrees with Marinette that it's for the best of all of Paris that Hawk Moth is stopped. But what do they do about Draco and his crew now? Tikki realizes that this is the work of the Western Order of the Miraculous, but she can't say anything about it.

Elsewhere, Sir Silver Hart transforms back into Pierre Lefevre. Since he's using a real miraculous, he also wound up with a countdown due to using Polarity. He's surprised to see Dee utterly exhausted. Draco tells him to feed the kwami—it's how they regain their strength. Pierre finds a smashed granola bar in his pocket and breaks off a piece for Dee. Pierre then asks Draco who he is and why he interfered.

Draco then breaks his own transformation, revealing his civilian alias. He introduces himself as Zenon Theroux. His kwami is a salamander named Xooloo. (It might be hard to remember, but Zenon was introduced back in Ikari Gozen. He's the person Rose Lavillant got paired with for Friendship Day.) Zenon feeds Xooloo and explains he's a runner for their mutual boss (Dolores Gros). Pierre again demands to know why Zenon interfered. Zenon tells him to dial it back; Zenon out ranks him in both position and experience. He tells Pierre that this afternoon was only a test at Pierre's skills of using a miraculous as well as seeing how Ladybug, Cat Noir, and Hawk Moth's akuma pawn would respond. He tells Pierre that they're playing a long game—and they will win. For now, Pierre is to wait and live his life as normal until they contact him again.

Adrien Agreste takes a back route home, hoping he can figure out an excuse to justify why he didn't let the gorilla pick him up after school. He has a lot on his mind, and he and Plagg and Tiia are talking about everything: Draco and Sir Silver Hart, Hawk Moth's plans, what happened to Master Fu, the second riddle he has to solve… Adrien pulls out the mystery message written in lemon juice that Master Fu hid. He re-reads the riddle, wondering about the answer. Plagg tells him to take it easy and have a snack. Tiia, however, puts two and two together and points out (something that they pass by). Adrien realizes that that's one of the clues in his riddle and hurries to the location.

He quickly pieces everything else together, surveys the area, and finds the hidden place with a wooden box tucked inside. This time, it contains the rabbit miraculous, so Adrien meets Fluff. Like before, there's a blank piece of paper. Knowing this is another hidden message, Adrien hustles home with all three kwamis to apply heat to it.

Marinette Dupin-Cheng makes it to her home safely and is gazing over Paris from her balcony. That's when she, too, solves her second riddle. She runs out the door, promising her flummoxed parents that she'll be right back. She follows the river to the banks of the Seine and narrows down the precise location based on the clues. She, too, discovers the wooden box Master Fu hid. Inside is the pig miraculous. Daizzi greets Tikki and Barkk. Marinette takes the blank paper that accompanied the box and races home, greeting her still flummoxed parents with a hasty "I'm back!" She heads into her room and irons the page.

While Adrien and Marinette are given different riddles from each other in order to guide them to a third hidden miraculous each, their messages inside are the same. Master Fu again tells them he's safe, but he has learned something has changed. The Hawk Moth they are facing now is not the same as the one they faced in the past. When they confronted him on Heroes' Day at the Eiffel Tower, Hawk Moth was very clearly a man. Master Fu says through meditation, he had an encounter with Hawk Moth—and this one is a woman. He does not know what it means, however, it does confirm one of his worst fears. He was only able to contact the female Hawk Moth through the bee comb. The miraculous without kwamis are connected to Hawk Moth; and the B Team needs to know. They take a huge risk every time they use their magical powers.

Marinette reads this, wondering aloud why Master Fu would give away the bee comb if he knew it's dangerous.

Adrien wonders how long this new Hawk Moth has been active. Or has there always been two, like Dauphin and Dauphine, taking turns. Plagg droops as he cannot answer.

Both continue reading the message; Master Fu realizes they must be confused by his choice to find a successor for the bee comb. He explains that it was to obscure the wielder, as Hawk Moth can detect that person better by name. However, he is worried about "the nice young lady" he gave it to, and he wishes that Ladybug and Cat Noir will watch out for her—and the rest of the B Team. He says he will also do what he can to help the B Team and see if he can find a way to severe the link between the miraculous without kwamis and Hawk Moth. He proposes there might be an answer in the grimoire, but he no longer has his tablet.

Marinette comments that she does have his tablet—maybe she can find an answer! She then explains to the three kwamis that Master Fu doesn't know about Dark Shadow and Froppy the kwami. Tikki comments that even the butterfly can't control kwamis. Marinette suggests that maybe that means Froppy the heroine and Tsukuyomi are safe from Hawk Moth now. She wonders how she can tell him that information and that she has his tablet; it would change things.

Adrien notes that despite Master Fu's concerns, the master is no longer suggesting they steal miraculous to keep people safe. He talks to Fluff, Plagg, and Tiia, saying he's sure this is intentional on Master Fu's part. He's trying to come up with an alternative plan. Which means that Fu wants a way for all of them to stand against Hawk Moth. It also has to be why he's giving Ladybug and Cat Noir the miraculous to care for. Splitting them up two ways (between Ladybug and Cat Noir) is safe…but splitting them up a dozen ways would be even safer. Assuming, of course, the heroes don't lose. Tiia wonders if that means that Adrien will give Kagami the mantis miraculous permanently. Adrien says that he will.

They finish reading the message. Master Fu wraps up by saying he suspects that there's rogues among the Western Order of the Miraculous who are causing problems: that explains Draco. He advises them to beware of the elephant most of all. And to protect everyone's identities at all costs. The message ends.

Marinette asks about this other order of the miraculous, but Tikki and the other kwamis admit they can't say anything on the subject. Marinette doesn't push things. She gives them all a snack and curls up into bed for the night, her mind full with everything that's been going on.

To be continued in Chapter 47: Queen Scorpion…
