Leilani hadn't taken the phone, just took the information where she would meet the Carcassa and then had fled the scene, still taking a bun off the table before leaving.

She was still not sure if it was the right thing to do but the money in her backpack was motivation enough and she wouldn't break a promise. Even if she wasn't sure if magic would get her for it she couldn't risk it. She relied on magic way too much and she didn't want to get rid of her convictions.

Promises were meant to be upheld no matter what. Even if no one shared the opinion with her she would still follow through.

It took her a bit of time but with her relying on public transportation for once she managed to find it without a problem.

Sure, she could have saved the money and walked there but… she wanted it done and dealt with and then just go back to the forest. She couldn't stop herself from indulging a bit though. She bought way more food then she had ever before but it paid off. She was still clearly underweight but… she was getting better. Her energy was back to a workable level and even her magic was thrumming happily in her.

She had needed the money more than she was willing to admit.

The Carcassa base wasn't as heavily guarded as she would have assumed but still the moment she stepped closer they sprung into action. A few of them even bowed before her to her confusion.

She got led inside without even having to introduce herself and she could hear chatter around her. It was more than just weird how everyone was exclaiming about the cloud arcobaleno. She hadn't done anything. Why were they so thrilled at the sight of her?

Sure, she had been used to this kind of behaviour back in her own world but there had been a reason. She had been famous, even when she still had performed her stunts she had sometimes earned a similar reaction but this? This was plainly unexplainable.

Yes, she was part of a cursed group but shouldn't they look down on her or make fun of her for falling into the trap? She was cursed without being able to get rid of it.. wasn't that enough of a reason to be the laughing stock of everyone?

But wherever she looked she saw respect, some seemed even guarded as if she was dangerous but no one was talking negatively.

Honestly Leilani was flabbergasted, barely able to keep her act up as the door opened and she stepped into the office of the Carcassa Don.

She hadn't planned to play nice and this always meant being annoying. She had even started to like it at this point, it almost became a habit in a way. She stretched herself to be a little taller, even going as far as flexing her non-existent toddler muscles "I'm the great Skull-sama. You should bow at the chance to be in my mere presence!" she exclaimed.

Honestly this alone should have been enough to get her kicked out but to her surprise the Don actually bowed. In what kind of wrong movie did she land now?

"My name is Lorenzo di Carcassa. I can barely put into words what an honour it is for you to visit us! Please take a seat!"

Did this leave her even more stunned? Definitely.

Still she managed to keep her composure, when she had performed in the circus nothing had been supposed to stop her from pulling off her act after all.

She jumped onto the couch. Plainly sitting on one of the pillows to make herself a little taller.

"Ah where are my manners? Can I offer you a drink or a snack? I naturally know you were British and imported high quality tea leaves for you. I even organised scones. May I offer you some."

"How does the great Skull-sama know you didn't poison it?"

"I wouldn't dare to! I will consume it in front of you naturally."

Okay, yes these people were crazy. 100% no doubt left. Why did Reborn want her here?

The man hurriedly had someone prepare the tea and did make good of his promise, even eating the scone that Leilani pointed at to prove that they were safe to eat.

Skull still more than just sceptical indulged in the treats. Free food was free food after all and she hadn't had a proper cup of tea in decades. She probably would have even drank it if there was poison in it just for that reason alone. At least if it wasn't lethal obviously.

The man still seemed way too thrilled about her visit "Reborn informed me that you consider getting affiliated with us. You can't imagine how that alone honours us! Naturally we had to prepare the best for you. Just that you visited us means so much to us!"

Honestly she was glad she had swallowed her tea quick enough, this would have definitely ended up in a coughing fit otherwise "Is that so?"

"Indeed, Indeed. Let's talk business shall we?"

"..sure." she did promise to listen to them, didn't she?

"So we would give you an airship. Naturally Carcassa branded and we would require at least three visits per year just so that we can be seen with you. Naturally we pay for them."

She blinked "What?"

"Sure, we know the carcassa brand on the airship is quite a lot but it's your decision how much you use it. At least once a year would be essential though."

She was more than just confused. What even was that? This was ridiculous. What would she even need to do for that "And I have to kill for you then or what?"

"No! We wouldn't dare to give you orders! How could we?"

"Then… what's the point?" she blurted out, way too confused to where this was heading.

The man stared at her, almost flabbergasted "Isn't it obvious? We would be able to play in the big league. Honestly? An arcobaleno that is affiliated with us? That's something only the Vongola, their undergroups and the Triads managed. We would sky rock to the top. All the business deals we could get just from this. And not just an arcobaleno. You are The Cloud arcobaleno."

"The great Skull-sama loves to hear about his significance. Go on and tell me what exactly you think about me. Tell me exactly why it would be so impressive to be affiliated with me." she had to find out what any of this meant.

The man hurriedly nodded and she really doubted his mental capability at this point. Who was that impressed by a toddler?

"Naturally you all know it. but… the cloud arcobaleno? The most elusive one? I mean it's hard to even court a cloud but the strongest cloud actually seeing us as worthy to grace us with his time? To even wear our brand on his airshiip? This would be insane. I mean you're the strongest cloud in existence.

Naturally all of the arcobalenos are the best in the mafia but even them warn others from approaching you. Just what this implies. How they see you as one of them even without having won any titles and how you truly are the one who has never ever considered any kind of mafia famiglia good enough for you?

No one can tame a cloud obviously so we are aware that we can't order you around but… just that you entertain us? Just that would push us so much higher. Who wouldn't want this?"

Leilani was really thrown into a loop. Sure, she hadn't had the best track record in recognizing lies but the man seemed truthful, the enthusiasmus he spoke with… it seemed so honest. "So… you're giving me an airship to live in?"

"Yes, naturally we were aware that we could never chain you down to our base so the Airship was our best idea to keep you mobile enough to not get restless but to still show that you are part of the Carcassa. You can use it however much you want. it's liveable and made to fly any kind of distance.

Reborn even referred us to Verde when he informed us. It's made by the best. it's flawless.``

"I don't have an airship licence." she uttered, still way too shocked to truly understand what was happening. Was this why Reborn had sent her here?

"We will give you a teacher and pilot. You can choose to learn it or just use one of us to fly you wherever you wish to."

"And you're giving me money if I visit?"

"Yes, it's up to you how often. We know 50.000 isn't much but we are still a rather small famiglia. We just hope it's enough for you."

Leilani had to hide her face behind her tea cup. 50 thousand? For a visit? Nothing more?

"And you require nothing else besides me stating that I am part of the Carcassa? No orders? No jobs? No kills?"

"No. We know ordering a cloud around isn't possible, especially not you." Lorenzo pulled out a contract to place it in front of Skull "Reborn had made us send it over to him first. We hope it is sufficient for you."

Leilani immediately hopped on the table to read it in depth. She gave it several once overs but… it was exactly as he had stated.

This was insane! A mobile home for her? Money? And all she had to do was say she was a Carcassa? Honestly were they all stupid? Why would anyone be willing to give so much for nothing? This was the most unfair deal she had ever seen in existance and it was in her favour?

"How does the great Skull-sama know you won't break the contract?"

"I am perfectly willing to seal it with my flames. I know that a cloud has to have conflicts about actually being willing to belong to a place that they didn't create but… we are willing to do it. To swear by my flames. I want you to be certain that we will pull through as this must be a hard decision for you."

Leilani stared at the contract before her. This was stupid, super stupid, insane and foolish and she would be part of the mafia. She would actually belong to a mafia famiglia but… it was so favourable? She didn't have to do anything? She didn't understand why they were putting such a huge weight on favouring her that badly and trying to do somersaults for her but… wasn't that what she needed? What she wanted?

Sure, Reborn had sent her here but… they wanted her for her? While they didn't want anything even worth speaking about from her?

She could survive. She could have a bed again, real food. She wouldn't have to go back to trying to survive on fruits and mushrooms. She wouldn't have to struggle to make it to a warm country before winter either. She could… she could live normally?

She could have a roof over her head again? A warm and soft bed like the one from the hotel?

She wouldn't have to walk for hours and hours over huge distances? She… she would have a home? Her own home that belonged to her?

Leilani knew before she had never even considered joining a mafia famiglia but this? How could she say no? She didn't want to go back into the forest. She never had wanted to do it but she had no choice at that point. She had been forced to live in nature and sure she had wanted to go back there instead of getting trapped somewhere but… wasn't this what she wanted? What she needed?

Maybe it was stupid to sign off but… hadn't she suffered enough? Wasn't it time yet?

She wanted to have a home again. She didn't want to go back into the forest and rely on her magic to not freeze overnight. She wanted to cook meals. She wanted to eat a variety. She wanted to eat her favourites again without knowing that any kind of inducement could mean her death in a few months.

Whenever she had forced herself to hold back she knew she had a reason to. Holding back had been her only way to ever have a chance of actually surviving but now? This offer would take care of it.

Some might call her impulsive and that she should have informed herself more or that she should have stuck to her former ways instead of trusting someone that easily but… Leilani was young, painfully young. Even while she had lived for more years than her mental age showed and honestly? She had always jumped at the chance of a better life. She had trusted Hagrid immediately when he took her to get her school's stuff and she had jumped at the chance to become part of the circus as soon as she saw them.

True she was afraid but she couldn't see a problem or hindrance. She couldn't see a trap no matter how hard she looked.

It was that exact day when Viper got a notification from one of their contacts, telling them that the cloud had joined the Carcassa.

The miser didn't wait any longer, instantly sending the information over to the groupchat of the arcobaleno. It was a relief. more than just that.

The second any of them had read Fons message and realised what it had meant hell had broken loose. Viper hadn't even wanted to meet up with the others instead painstakingly tried to find even more alternatives for Skull to go to if the Carcassa didn't work out. Even going as far as overworking the contract from the Carcassa that Reborn had sent them. Plain and simply Viper had tried their best to get their mind off the matter. Of the horror they had been struck with when they read the two word message.

Viper had always been money focused. They had known how it was to live hand in mouth. They had never been homeless but their family had been poor. They could remember going hungry to bed and how hard it had been. How it had been the sole reason for why they had decided to turn their life into this direction.

Skull hadn't just been poor, SKull had lived on the streets. 14 years long and no one had realised it. They hadn't realised it even though it was Vipers job. They were the best information broker in the mafia. no one could compare but still they hadn't known this significant thing about their cloud.

Sure, the cloud had always been a mystery and no information was really known but… that they were homeless? It had shaken Viper to the core and even worse… Skull had managed to keep this secret for 14 years… who knew what else the cloud was hiding?
