The Shooting Star

"How'd you get the vest off you?" Winn asked Revan, who just told the others at DEO what happened at the power plant, only minutes after putting Dr. Edward Cizko in a meta-dampened cell.

"I sped up my heart rate." Revan shrugged. "The heart monitor, no matter how high tech, was only average spec. Once I went above the range it could detect, it no longer picked up a pulse, thus showing that I was flatlining."

"Well, Kara, Revan, well done. Cizko is behind bars for good." J'onn said, patting them on the backs.

"All in a day's work director." Revan said.

"Well you two should go get some rest." J'onn told the two heroes.

"I suppose I could use some rest." Revan said, before looking to Kara, "But how about some food?"

"How about something else?" Alex interrupted the two. "Come with me, you two." Alex led Kara and Revan to another room, J'onn accompanying them as well.

"What is it Alex?" Kara asked.

"Me and J'onn were planning to go to the bar." Alex said. "So if you two wanted to come…"

"I can't get drunk on any alcohol, Alex." Revan said, groaning a little.

"Does that include alien alcohol as well?" Alex smirked.

"Wait… for real?" Revan asked. "You guys have that?"

"We have aliens." Alex shrugged. "Why not an alien bar? Kara got drunk there once too. You should have-"

"That's enough, Alex!" Kara quickly stopped her. "You should come, Revan! It'll be fun."

"Alright then. Lead the way." Revan surrendered.

"Alex! J'onn!" the bartended greeted them. "Been a while, Kara! And.. Who's that with you?"

"Revan Snow." Revan introduced himself, offering a handshake, which the bartender took. "Pleasure to meet you."

"You too." The bartender said back. "M'gann Morzz. I'm J'onn's niece."

"Oh" Revan didn't know J'onn had any family, but smiled.

"So what'll it be?" M'gann asked. "Usual for you guys?" she asked, pointing to Alex and J'onn.

"Yes please, M'gann." J'onn replied.

"I still don't know a lot about this so what should I get?" Kara asked, confused.

"Two of the Tamaranean Fire Brandy, please." Revan said, surprising the others.

"Well you're well informed." Alex said. "Have you done this before?"

"We had aliens on my earth too, Alex. Why not an Alien bar?" Revan smirked.

"Touché" Alex said.

"Have a seat, I'll be right there." M'gann said, getting to work making their drinks.

"Well this is a classy joint." Revan said, looking around. The whole place was full of both humans, human looking aliens, and aliens that looked completely unique. Revan recognized many of them thanks to his research and his speedster memory.

"There are so many aliens here." Revan said. " That's a Grendian, isn't it?"

"Yeah." Alex said.

"How do you know so much about aliens?" J'onn asked.

"Well, not only did we also have aliens on my Earth, I also researched extensively about this Earth when I first got here, having continued ever since. I can't stick out as the guy who knows nothing about aliens in a planet full of them, right?" Revan answered.

"You speed read through the DEO's databases didn't you?" Kara smirked.

"That was part of it." Revan smirked back.

M'gann came up to their table with their drinks. "Here you go guys."

"Thanks, M'gann." J'onn said as she went back to the counter.

"Hey Kara." Alex said, gripping Kara's shoulder. "Don't chug it all down in one gulp this time?"

"Shut up!" Kara said. "Besides this looks different. Maybe I won't get that tipsy."

"What happened?" Revan said, taking a sip from his drink. "Oh yeah. That's the stuff."

"Well Mon El brought Kara here, and dared her to drink a glass of Aldebaran Rum. She chugged it in one go, and you know what happens when someone who's never drunk before does that." Alex shrugged.

"Oh I remember my first drink." Revan said. "I didn't even cough of anything. It just hit me moments later. And the worst part? It was after I'd gotten my speed. Same drink I'm having right now." Revan chuckled a little. "I tried running back home. I must have hit several objects on my way, including, but not limited to a traffic pole, a dustbin, a post box, and I don't remember much else."

"Jeez." Kara said, taking a tentative sip from her drink. "Hey this is so good!"

"I know." Revan smiled.

"Well I don't know about you guys, but I'm getting another drink." Alex said. "Hey M'gann!" she yelled, signalling for seconds.

"Well alright. I'm not a very strong drinker though." Revan said.

"Neither am I." Kara said, letting out a small laugh. "Let's stop each other when we see ourselves getting out of control."

.

.

"… we really should stop." Revan said, slurring his words.

"Why?" Kara whined, elongating her pronunciation. "I'm having fun. Aren't we all having fun?"

"I'm not sure this was the best idea." Alex whispered to J'onn.

"They deserve to cut loose once in a while as well." J'onn replied. "Besides they've been working almost continuously recently."

"Alex!" Kara suddenly hugged her sister. "I'd like another drink. Could you please get me one?"

"Yeah I think you've had enough." Alex said, sitting Kara down. "You better not move."

"Like you'd be able to stop me." Kara said, laughing.

Alex glared at Kara, but laughed anyway. "J'onn and I are gonna go close our tab. Don't move."

"Hey I can't let you pay for me." Revan said, reaching for his wallet, and failing.

"Relax. You can pay me back your part. When you're not drunk." With that, Alex and J'onn walked off to M'gann.

Kara turned to Revan. "Hey, Rev! How you doing?"

Revan wasn't doing well. "Kara we should go home and sleep. We're drunk."

Kara looked at Revan, looked into his deep black eyes. She remembered all the times she'd swooned over him, yet still hasn't realized that she liked him, or maybe she did, but didn't admit it to herself. Whatever the case, being intoxicated made her feel brave, braver than ever.

"Hey it's fine. Everything is fine!" she said, still slurring. "You know what, I'm going to do something I've been too afraid to do lately. Come here." Kara suddenly took a hold of Revan's face, and kissed him.

Revan was surprised, probably mostly because his intoxication was wearing off, but he didn't make Kara feel unwelcome. He wrapped his arm around her and kissed her back, breathing in her essence, her lips warm and soft on his. Kara hummed in satisfaction, melting into the kiss. It was short yet passionate and sweet.

"Whoa, I…" Revan started stuttering as they parted. "Well whoa." He smiled at her.

"Yeah… whoa." Kara said back, dreamily.

"Kara? Was that just the alcohol talking?" Revan said, slightly afraid.

"No." Kara said, clearly a little bit more sober than before. "It just made me braver. I've been wanting to do that for a while. Unless it made you uncomfortable, in which case I'm-"

"Kara" Revan interrupted her rambling, "I loved it. And I've wanted to do that too." He said, more nervous than he'd ever been. "Now I think I'll go home and go crazy for a bit." Kara laughed at that.

Her hands were still on the sides of his face, and his still around her, on her neck, when Alex and J'onn came back to the table.

"Well hello!" Alex said, eyes widening just a bit. "What's going on here?"

Kara and Revan quickly let go of each other and sat straight up. "Nothing!" They both yelled out too quickly.

"If you insist." Alex smirked.

Both Kara and Revan sighed, not noticing with all their powers, the little smirked glance that J'onn and Alex shared. They knew this would happen a long time ago.

.

.

.

"Well that was fun." Alex said as they stepped out of the bar. "We should do this again." She smirked at Kara, who glared back at her. "Looks like you're sobered a little, so I probably won't have to drive you after all. Unless you want me to?"

"No it's fine." Kara said, lips pursed.

"Okay." Alex said, smiling to J'onn. "J'onn come on." She called to him as they got into Alex's car and drove off.

Revan and Kara started walking back to their apartments, this time with almost no fear as they held hands, a content smile on both their lips.

All too soon, however, they reached Kara's apartment.

"I'll see you tomorrow, then?" Kara asked, blushing.

"Definitely." Revan smiled.

The two looked at each other. Kara's bright blue eyes met Revan's black ones, and they gave in to the magnetic pull they felt towards each other, and met the others lips with their own. Revan's hands held Kara close, wrapped around her waist, as hers went around his neck, pulling him into their kiss. It was fervent and passionate.

Then they parted, breathless from each other, and rested their foreheads together. "I guess this goes without saying, but, I really like you, Kara. I guess you can also tell how nervous I am, because I've never done this before, but-"

"Revan." Kara interrupted as she realised that he was about to babble, not unlike herself. "I like you too. A lot. And right now, that's all that matters."

"Goodnight, Girl of Steel." Revan said, finally letting go of her.

"Goodnight, Shooting Star." Kara said back, smiling brightly. With that she went into her apartment, and Revan went to his.

That night, both heroes slept with a peace neither had known for a while.

The next day, Kara got ready, and got out of her apartment, only to find Revan waiting outside her door, with two coffees.

"One large Latte for you, one medium Machhiato for me." Revan smiled.

"Good Morning, Revan." Kara smiled as she took her coffee.

"So, are we at the stage where I can give you a good morning kiss?" Revan asked, trying to stay cool, but still letting a little nervousness slip out. Kara however, didn't care, as she smiled wide and brightly, nodding furiously.

Revan let out a little chuckle before putting his free hand on her cheek and kissing her. Kara gladly returned his kiss, putting her free hand on his shoulder, tilting her head a little to the side.

"I don't think I'll ever get used to that." Revan said as they parted.

"Me neither." Kara smiled, fixing her glasses.

"Shall we." Revan asked with a smile, offering her his hand.

"Yes." Kara said, smiling back brightly, as she took his hand and the two started walking down the stairs, to CatCo.

Kara and Revan got onto their floor, hand in hand until they had to separate to get to their desks.

"I'll see you at lunch, Kara." Revan said.

"Yep. See you then." Kara said, giving his hand a final squeeze before letting go.

Work went as slow as a sloth for Kara. She just couldn't wait for lunch. Truth be told, she'd go right now if she could, but she'd only just entered the office, and she had to get some work done, or it'd look bad, and Lena would give her an earful, both as a friend and as her boss. She typed away on her article, sneaking glances at Revan every now and then. Her super vision made it so easy. Suddenly, Lena came up to Kara.

"Someone's looking way chipper than usual." Lena smirked. "Does it have something to do with a certain editor?"

"Lena!" Kara glared.

"Okay okay I won't embarrass you." Lena concurred. "Will you at least tell me something?"

"We… uh…" Kara was blushing furiously. "We kissed."

"Ohh." Lena said, shoving Kara's shoulder a bit. "I don't wanna say 'I told you so' but…"

"Then don't." Kara smiled.

"Okay." Lena said, giving a soft smile. "Okay but right now, I need to talk to you about something."

"Sure what is it?" Kara asked with concern.

"It's Edge." Lena said, lowering her voice. "He's been off the radar, and I've been hearing some rumors that he's found some kind of… prize."

"What kind of prize?" Kara asked.

"No idea. But I don't like it. I just want you to be careful." Lena said, taking Kara's hand.

"Of course, thanks Lena." Kara said, smiling softly. "But I'll try to do dig something up as well."

"No no no please just be safe, okay?" Lena said. "You're my best friend."

"Lena I'll be fine. I've been at this for a while." Kara said, putting a hand on Lena's shoulder. "I promise I'll be careful."

"Okay." Lena said, and went back to her office.

.

.

"Big Belly Burger?" Kara asked as she and Revan got into the elevator.

"Big Belly Burger." was Revan's answer.

"Great!" Kara said, and took hold of Revan's hand. Together, the two walked the short distance to their favorite food joint.

The menus were as mouth watering as ever.

"Man their food is to die for." Kara said, shoving another bite into her mouth.

"You said it." Revan replied, doing the same. "You know we had a Big Belly Burger on my Earth too. Seems it's there on every Earth, and it dominates everywhere."

"So that's why you acted a little weird when I first brought you here." Kara said, swallowing her current mouthful, only to shove another morsel of food.

"Yeah." Revan said, sipping his cola.

"You're done?" Kara said, groaning. She still had half a burger left. "I just can't beat you anywhere."

Revan smirked, finishing his cola.

"You know what? Let's have a roof race." Kara said.

"A what?" Revan asked, stumped at first.

"Roof Race. Where we have to stick to the rooftops. You can't go to the ground, and I can't fly into open skies." Kara elaborated.

"Hmm.. Sounds interesting, Girl of Steel. I'm in. But…" Revan picked up his side bag. "We should probably put our bags away if we're to get into our suits, and seeing as I'm done for the day…"

"Let's just speed home and leave them there." Kara said, clearly impatient.

"Alright then." Revan shrugged. "Let's Roof Race…. God that sounded ridiculous."

"Yes it did." Kara smirked. "Meet on CatCo's roof."

"Got it." Revan said, before speeding off.

.

.

Revan arrived in his suit on CatCo's rooftop, while Kara landed there a second later.

"Okay from here to the Northernmost point of the city." Kara elaborated.

"Let's do this. On your marks…" Revan started.

"Get set…" Kara continued.

"GO!" the both of them yelled, and sped off, blowing gusts of wind all over.

Kara flew close to the rooftops, weaving through chimneys and exhausts and whatnot. Revan, however, not only had speed, he'd had years of free running experience from patrolling the rooftops with Owlman. He ran across the buildings almost as fast as he would on ground. Eventually, Revan had a clear lead.

Suddenly, Revan felt something wet on his face. Was that rain? Distracted, he slipped on a fine surfaced rooftop, giving Kara a narrow but sure lead. Given a few more rooftops, he would have made it up. However Revan could see the buildings end just a couple blocks ahead, so he had no choice.

Kara won.

"Yes! Yes!" Kara hopped in victory, hands in the air. "Take that."

"Good Race, Girl of Steel. You won this one." Revan said, raising his hands in defeat. He then looked up, undoing his mask. It was raining.

"It's raining." Revan said, standing there and getting all wet.

"Yeah. Rau I don't even remember the last time it rained in National." Kara said, taking shelter under the shade of the rooftop door.

"I love the rain." Revan yelled as the rain started to pour heavily and thickly, a slight fog settling everywhere. "Don't know why, but always have. Cait didn't like it though, but she loved watching me play around in it." He laughed, but he stood there, not playing, or moving in any way.

Kara caught Revan's eyes look at her, or rather the two of them caught each other.

Kara slowly walked out of her shade, getting drenched along with Revan. She slowly walked to Revan, neither of them breaking eye contact, until the two were within each other's reach. Then they kissed each other passionately in the heavy, yet pleasant downpour.

Revan's hands travelled all over Kara's back, as Kara buried her hands in Revan's messy hair, now drenched from the rain. Even though the rain poured heavily, their lips were warm on each other, as they stood there in the rain, pouring their souls into the kiss.

Finally when they broke apart, they were breathless and drenched, but still warm and fuzzy, resting foreheads. They both let out a small laugh.

Kara then kissed him again, this time wrapping her arms around him, to pick him, and flew straight to her apartment, entering through the window, never stopping their kiss. Revan rested a hand on her cheek as he continued to drink her essence from her lips.

Kara started to pull them towards the bedroom, when Revan suddenly paused. "Kara. Kara wait." He said, breathlessly.

"What is it?" Kara asked.

"Wait… are you sure about this? I've never really done any of this before, and you may guess I'm nervous. Plus we haven't been together that long and…" Revan started rambling.

"Rev." Kara said, softly, and Revan stopped, giving her his full attention. "We don't have to do this if you don't want to." She put her hands on both his cheeks holding his head and forcing him to look her in the eyes. "But if you do want to, but you're just nervous, then don't worry. I've got you. I want this… I want… Us. Okay?"

Revan nodded, giving her a warm smile, before starting to kiss her again, as they began undressing each other while heading into Kara's bedroom.

X-X-X-X-X

Well that was fun! I have been waiting for this moment… they're together! I know that's probably you guys' line since I'm the writer, but even so!

So as always please read and review, and tell me what you like of dislike, folks. I can't fix it if I don't know what's broken.

Also I'm probably gonna go into a CW TV arc, which I'm sure y'all can guess, so stay tuned! Peace!
