The Shooting Star

Super Family

Kara and Revan ran back to the DEO. They'd just taken care of another rogue metahuman.

"What's with all the metahumans popping up in National recently?" Winn asked from his chair.

"I'm actually looking into that." Revan said. "From all my research, there weren't nearly as many metas here before, since there wasn't a rather large phenomenon that could actually create metas."

"Well let us know what you find, or if you need any help." Alex said.

"Will do." Revan said.

"We have another problem." Winn said, looking at Kara.

"What is it?" Kara asked.

"Your suit!" Winn exclaimed.

Kara looked down, and the suit, while not torn, was singed, blackened with soot and stuff.

"Goddamn fire meta." Winn said, exasperated.

"I think we need a new suit, Winn." Revan said, smirking.

Winn caught Revan's smirk, returning it with one of his own. "You thinking what I'm thinking?"

"Maybe…" Revan said. "Let's confer later. In the meantime, Kara? Food?"

"Please." Kara exaggeratedly sighed, and the two were off to their go-to spot.

.

.

"Hey Rev." Kara called to her boyfriend as she swallowed the last of her burger.

"Yeah?" Revan replied.

"Well… I'm having a little… family get together tomorrow." Kara said. "And I was hoping, you'd come with me."

"So you want me to meet your parents, huh?" Revan smirked.

"That, and… my cousin wants to meet you." Kara said, a little nervous.

"Is he protective of you?" Revan asked.

"Kind of." Kara said.

"Well so am I. So we'll get along just fine." Revan smiled.

Kara almost laughed at how easily he accepted it. He wasn't even afraid of Superman threatening him or something.

"So you're coming, right?" Kara asked, just as confirmation.

"Kara, you know I will. I'll go anywhere with you." Revan smiled warmly, and Kara felt tingles all over her body. "But for now, we have work, so let's go?"

"Right, sorry." Kara said, getting up, as Revan kissed her forehead, and the two headed to CatCo.

.

.

"I'd really like donuts right now." Kara said as Revan and her got into the elevator.

"For lunch?" Revan asked.

"Yes." Kara said, getting ready for the question.

"Cool. Lead the way, Girl of Steel." Revan said.

"You're not gonna tell me how weird it is that I want donuts for lunch?" Kara asked, slightly confused.

"Should I?" Revan asked in return, confused himself.

"Most people do when they hear it." Kara said.

"Huh. Well I don't know why, since there's nothing wrong with donuts for lunch." Revan said, thinking. "Technically there's nothing wrong with any food at any time as long as your digestive clock and habits can handle it. If your body doesn't have a problem, why should anyone else?" he explained, shrugging.

Kara felt fuzzy all over again. It wasn't just about this entire food discussion, it was just another reminder of the fact that Revan truly accepted her in every way. He'd known she was an alien way before it became official, heck she'd never even told him herself. Yet whenever he spoke with her, even in the beginning, there were no signs of 'special treatment', the kind an alien would get from other humans. To him, she was just another person, extraordinary as she might be.

She suddenly hugged him, then gave him a light peck on the lips.

"What was that for?" Revan said, smiling at Kara, gazing, marvelling at those bright blue eyes.

"I'll tell you later, maybe. Now donuts!" she exclaimed as the elevator doors opened and she dragged Revan out.

.

.

The donut shop was relatively small, but it had a cosy and homey feel to it. Kara and Revan stood in front of the counter as they customised their box of donuts, each packing a dozen donuts for them.

Revan paid for this one, saying he just wanted to and that she could get the next one. Then they went to a nearby park to have their donuts, having agreed to eat outside, like really outside.

As usual, they breathed their donuts in a matter of minutes. Revan noticed that Kara had a speck of chocolate fondue from one, or more, donuts near her lips, so he tapped on Kara's arm and pointed it out to her, handing her a tissue.

"Thanks Rev." Kara said, and was about to take the tissue to wipe off the fondue, when he suddenly saw Revan move at max speed, the exact movements a blurry mystery to her. "What did you just do?"

"Nothing." Revan said. Kara, however, was not convinced, and she stared at Revan. "Okay. I took a picture."

Kara pouted her lips, letting a weak "No!" out. Revan couldn't help but chuckle.

"You're so adorable, Kara Danvers." Revan said, letting out yet another chuckle.

"You're lucky I like you, or I'd have taken your donuts." Kara mock glared.

"How? I finished same time you did. I'm faster, remember?" Revan smirked.

"Hey you didn't win all our races." Kara defended, or tried.

"Seventeen to One. Enough said?" Revan said, his smirk still there.

Kara stuck her tongue out, and Revan chuckled again at her adorableness. Kara was about to retort, when she noticed Revan's expression change into a more sombre one, a soft, sober smile showing, his deep black eyes gazing into her own bright blue ones.

"What?" Kara asked.

"I'm… I'm just thankful that I met you. I got so lucky." Revan said, looking emotional.

"Me too." Kara said, putting her hand on his.

"No I mean it. Of all the Earths to crash on, I come to this one. The breach opens outside National City, of all places, and I read the exact article that brings me to the exact place that you work." Revan said, a light excitement in his voice. "I find an amazing girl that I like and who's helped me through some… really dark times, and who accepted my feelings-"

"Revan" Kara interrupted. "I do mean that I feel it too. You came to me, and you accepted me for exactly what I am, and you didn't ask for anything, didn't expect anything from me. You were just there. To you, I wasn't an alien, or anything else, anything but a person. A person that can fly, has super strength and a myriad of other powers, who literally breathes in food like a little pig, which most people would feel awkward for, and you didn't care."

"Well of course I didn't. No one should." Revan said.

"But most do. You don't. I'm so grateful I found you, and that you found me." Kara said, pulling Revan into a hug.

A real tight one. From a Kryptonian.

"Ouch." Revan said, and Kara let go instantly.

"I'm so sorry, did I-" Kara was interrupted by Revan pulling her into a hug of his own, which Kara returned, with her usual restraint this time.

When they parted, their faces were inches from each other, each gazing into the other's eyes, hands together. Kara and Revan smashed their lips together, fervently and passionately kissing one another. Revan cupped Kara's cheek with one hand, as the other was on her arm, holding her close. Kara put her hands on Revan's chest and shoulder, melting into their kiss. Suddenly, a ball came flying at them, but Kara promptly caught it with a hand and threw it towards the kids in the field, never breaking the kiss, as she put the hand on Revan's neck now. Things got just a bit more heated before they decided to break apart, breathless, still gazing at each other.

Revan smiled sombrely at Kara, while she was sporting a dopey grin, fixing her glasses. They slowly got up from their secluded bench and started walking back to CatCo to finish with their day, hand in hand, fingers intertwined.

Kara woke up to find Revan no longer in her bed, when she heard cooking outside. She went to the bathroom, freshened up, put on her clothes for the day, and went out, to find Revan cooking her breakfast.

"Is that…?" Kara trailed off, seeing what Revan had already placed on the table.

"Pigs in Blankets, ready to be consumed." Revan said merrily from the counter, as he took yet another plate and put it on the table.

"Ooooh." Kara squeaked in excitement and flew to Revan, hugging him tight but with restraint. "Thank you thank you thank you! I love this!" she exclaimed.

"You're Welcome." Revan said, resting his hands on her waist as she pulled back and gave him a brief kiss, before flying to the table, beginning to gobble down on the delicious food in front of her.

Once both the heroes were full, Revan spoke, "Kara, remember what today is?"

"What?" Kara asked, confused.

"Family get together?" Revan reminded her.

"Oh… Ohhh! That's today?!" Kara suddenly exclaimed.

"Yep." Revan said, chuckling a bit. "Relax though. We're due for the afternoon, so there's time. At least that's what you told me before, so I don't know if I have wrong information, just saying…"

"Shut up!" Kara pouted, and Revan let out another chuckle.

"You wanna get ice cream?" Kara asked.

"Yeah, why not." Revan smiled.

"Race you." Kara said.

"You're on." Revan said, and the two sped off.

.

.

Afternoon came faster than the two heroes could anticipate, although all the ice cream and kissing sessions might have had something to do with how they didn't notice time passing by.

Soon, it was time head to the Danvers house for the party.

Kara and Revan sped to the place. The highways were a dream for Revan. Kara could swear she even heard a small laugh of delight as she flew overhead. Of course, they couldn't run as themselves, so Kara stayed high above to avoid people spotting her on the sky, while Revan held in his neon silhouette trail inside himself, so people only saw a quick blur, which would mostly be written off as nothing.

They discretely landed on the walkway, the porch swing still swaying as Alex got off it to welcome them. "Hey." Alex said as she gave Kara a hug. "Almost thought you'd be late, then I remembered, Rev wouldn't let that happen."

"Yeah right." Kara said, shoving Alex a little bit.

"Hey Alex." Revan said, as he received a welcome hug from Alex as well.

"Well come on in. Everyone's waiting." Alex said as she opened the door and ushered them in.

Inside, Revan noticed the cosy yet spacious living room. Maggie was there, of course. An elderly, but not at all frail looking woman sat on the couch beside a buff, tall man in glasses, his eyes a very similar blue to Kara. He also emitted a noticeable amount of solar radiation, which was also very similar to Kara. Not surprising, he thought, as they were cousins.

"Kara! And you must be Revan." The woman said, getting up and gesturing for a hug, which Revan returned. "I'm Eliza Danvers."

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Mrs. Danvers." Revan said, smiling.

"Please, Eliza. And this is Clark, Kara's cousin." She gestured to Clark, who got up and offered Revan a handshake.

Revan took him in. He could tell that Clark was trying to gauge him, scrutinizing every detail visible on Revan's appearance. Revan accepted the handshake, only to feel a very pressuring grip clamp down on his hand, albeit only for a second. Being a speedster like he was, he was able to predict this, and started phasing the outer portions of his hand, so Clark's was going right through it. Clark managed to detect this, and gave him a smile.

It looked like Clark was going to play 'Over-Protective Cousin' after all, as Revan expected.

"Hey Maggie." Revan said, waving to Maggie who was sitting in one of the chairs.

"Hey Revan." Maggie waved back, as Alex went and sat down beside her.

Kara also noticed the handshake, and quickly came and took a hold of Revan's other arm, pulling him to the couch. "Come on. Sit down." She said, although a bit of awkwardness was tangible in her voice. She shot Clark a mock glare, who tried feigning ignorance.

"So, you're an editor on Kara's floor, right?" Eliza asked.

"Yeah. I started fairly recently, but I'm all settled by now. Plus," he gave Kara a smile, "I have a great partner."

"Alex has told me a lot about you. Thank you for looking out for Kara." Eliza said.

"Mrs Danvers- Uh, Eliza," he quickly corrected as he saw Eliza sigh, "We're both crime fighters. We look out for each other. But yeah, I have saved Kara a few times." He said, smirking, looking at Kara again, who was now glaring at him. Alex snickered from beside them.

"We've saved each other equally." Kara said, blowing some breath.

"Well I have to go check on the roast. Kara, mind giving me a hand?" Eliza said, getting up and heading to the kitchen.

"Sure." Kara said, as she got up, shooting Clark another glare. "Don't threaten him" she lipped at Clark before going into the kitchen, leaving Alex, Maggie, Clark and Revan in the living room.

"So, you're dating my cousin, huh?" Clark said, speaking for the first time, as Revan thought.

"That is correct." Revan said, letting out a small sigh.

"You know, Kara went through a pretty bad time, right before you came into her life." Clark said.

"Yes I do." Revan said.

"So I'll ask once. Are you a threat to Kara?" Clark said, suddenly lighting his eyes up, his face looking serious.

Revan, however, was unfazed. "Cool trick. But I can do that too." With that, Revan's eyes lit up white. His hair floated up, sparks of flashing white energy flying off them. "I'm sorry if I seem rude, but I'll have to ask you a question in return." He said, his voice now vibrating. "Are you?" his distorted voice rung out.

Alex and Maggie watched this little confrontation, feeling both fear and amusement. While it was true that Revan was facing Superman here, Revan was no slouch, and no stranger to Kryptonians, and he sure as hell wasn't someone who would back down like that.

Clark actually was surprised. This guy was not even fazed when sitting in front of Superman, but rather he stood right in his face and was telling him off.

Revan powered down, sighing. "Let me tell you something. I made a promise. To myself. I lost my world. I lost my family. I lost my friends. I lost everything I held dear. Much similar to you, which isn't something I'd wish on anybody, human or otherwise. But I promised, that I'd never let anything or anyone hurt Kara, here or on any other universe. That includes me, and Alex, and everyone else. Even you. As long as we understand each other, I think our goals align. We want to protect Kara. Because we love her. Am I wrong?"

Clark took a moment to think. It wasn't everyday someone talked Superman back and down. This guy wasn't normal, but he considered his words.

"No." he finally spoke. "Sorry about the… glowing eyes. I had to make sure."

"It's cool." Revan smirked. "Besides, it wouldn't have helped you much anyway."

"Whoa what-" Clark began to argue, when Kara walked in to interrupt him.

"He's right, Clark. He'd just absorb it, or lazily dodge it." Kara bragged, before popping down beside Revan and burrowing into his shoulder, as Revan wrapped an arm around her, both of them letting out a sigh of contentment. "Oh Alex, it's your turn. Mom asked for you."

"Sure it isn't just an excuse to cuddle?" Alex smirked.

Kara stuck her tongue out at her, before settling on Revan's shoulder again, as Alex went into the kitchen, Maggie following her.

"You know I'll always remember this. Revan literally turned tables on you. Even your 'Glowy eyed Intimidation' didn't work." Kara chuckled.

"Simmer down, Kara Zor-El." Clark smirked now. "Besides, I don't particularly enjoy that. I just have to make sure."

"And I appreciate that, Clark. Honestly." Revan said.

"I don't, Kal-El. I don't like people messing with my boyfriend." Kara said, her eyebrows crinkling up.

"Okay I won't do it again. Not that I'd need to." Clark said, raising his hands in surrender.

Revan chuckled a bit, then planted a kiss of Kara's forehead, when Eliza, Alex and Maggie came in, bearing trays and plates of food, setting them down on the table.

"Kara! I need help setting the table!" Eliza called out.

Kara groaned. Revan, however, patted her gently and got up. "I'll help you, Eliza. Just tell me where everything is."

As Eliza told Revan, he literally set the table faster than Eliza could blink. Clark's eyebrows had risen considerably.

"Wow, you must be handy to have around." Eliza said. "Now Alex tells me you eat as much Kara and Clark?"

"That's is correct, Eliza." Revan said, smiling, as Kara, Alex and Clark joined them at the table, when Clark's phone suddenly vibrated with a message.

"Oh it's Lois, she might make it by the evening. She's in the middle of some work." He said, reading off the text.

"That's great, Clark! I hope she isn't exerting herself too much. I know her work keeps her busy." Eliza said.

"Well if she needed, I could just fly her over." Clark said, smiling.

"Yes, there's that. Well please, help yourself. I cooked enough for a small army, so it should be enough for you three." Eliza said, gesturing to the food, and the three superheroes, and smiled as she took her seat.

"With pleasure." Revan said, as he took a seat, Kara right beside him, and started eating. "Oof, this pork roast is juicy!" he exclaimed.

"Bacon!" Kara yelled.

"Kara relax! You almost spilled pepper on my plate!" Alex now yelled.

Clark and Revan looked at each other and laughed.

.

.

.

.

It was evening. Revan and Kara sat on the porch swing, Revan's arm around her, Kara leaning on him.

"Revan?" Kara asked.

"Hmm?" Revan replied.

"Did you mean everything you told Clark this afternoon?" Kara asked, her voice soft.

"Yeah." Revan replied.

"Even the part where you said you loved me?" Kara asked.

"I…" Revan stammered a bit, looking left and right before he noticed Kara's eyes boring into his, and he sighed, before speaking. "Of course I did. I love you, Kara Danvers."

"I love you too, Revan Snow." Kara replied with a bright smile, as she went in for a passionate yet soft kiss, her hand cupping his face as his snaked around her body, holding her close. He then gently stroked her head, running his hand over her golden hair, and Kara responded in kind, burying her hand inside Revan's messy black hair. They stayed that way until Clark decided to interrupt them just for fun, and then Lois came in, and it was time for another round of introduction. The rest of the day went just as smoothly and enjoyably as it had so far.

X-X-X-X-X

Ahh the fluff! The Confession of Love! I'm literally giddy right now. Also, a bit of a good news, bad news situation, I'll probably take a break from this one again, but nothing too long, probably a month at most. Good news is, I'll actually be working on other stories, including my first real SuperFlash/Karry fanfic. They're my favorite ship, so be hyped! Be very hyped! I'm just kidding.

And of course, as usual, review and let me know your likes and dislikes, or any suggestions to my writing, or the plot. I'll definitely use any ideas that seem cool. Until next time! Peace!
