The Dress

Revan and Kara had just left CatCo, having had an incredibly busy day, with articles flowing in.

"Today was so tiresome!" Kara said exaggeratedly as they walked, hand in hand, towards Kara's apartment.

"Tell me about it. I even used my speed for a just a few minutes. I was gonna go crazy." Revan chuckled.

"Well it's over! Let's go home!" Kara yelled.

"Yes, let's, Kara." Revan said, snickering.

A few minutes later, Revan and Kara entered their home, only for Kara to catch a mugging in progress on her ears.

"Someone's getting robbed." Kara said. "I've got this one, Rev." she said, quickly switching to her suit and flying out the window. Revan sighed, smiling, and sat down on the couch, when suddenly, there was a knock on Kara's door.

Revan opened it up to find Alex, looking excited. "Alex what are you doing here? Come in come in." he said, letting her in.

"Is Kara here?" Alex asked, sporting a wide grin.

"Robbery." Revan said, pointing his thumb at the win so behind him. "Should be here in a minute. Oh, she's heading back." He added, sensing sunshine, even in the evening.

Kara entered the window, still in her suit. "Alex! What is it?"

"Kara… we're doing it. We're getting married!" Alex said.

"What?!" Kara almost yelled.

"Maggie and I are getting married!" Alex said, laughing, a tear in her eye.

"Oh my Rau, Alex! I'm so happy!" Kara squealed, wrapping her sister up in a tight hug.

Revan smiled ear to ear as well, and hugged Alex as soon as Kara let go. "Congratulations, Alex." He said.

"Thanks. Now, Kara, you know you're going to be my Maid of Honor." Alex said, controlling herself just a tad bit.

"Of course I will be. But when is it?" Kara asked, excited herself.

"Next week. Revan, you'll be there too, right?" Alex said, now turning to Revan.

"Of course I will be. I wouldn't miss it for anything." He said in ernest.

"Right. Right, now, I need my sister to plan. You're welcome too, Rev." Alex said as she walked to the couch.

"Planning is something I'm good at, so let's go." Revan smirked, as three sat down on the couch to eagerly discuss the details of the wedding of Alex Danvers and Maggie Sawyer.

A few days went by, and Revan was accompanying Kara to the boutique, picking out a dress for her.

"Couldn't Alex come today?" Kara said, mock crying as she went inside the changing room.

"No, she couldn't!" Revan loudly let her know. Alex was currently with Maggie, looking at venues. They'd got their dresses the day before, but unfortunately, Kara had to leave for a building fire. The result was Kara missing her turn to about a dozen other people picking dresses, and she decided to get it today. Her dresser helped her, as Revan waited outside, invited by Kara as the 'One with the Opinion'. "Lena's gonna be here soon though!" Revan added.

Kara soon walked out in the first dress of the day. It was a maroon, off shoulders sleeveless dress. Revan thought for a second. "No I don't think so."

"Are you sure?" Kara asked.

"Of course not. I've never done this before. What you're getting is my unaltered, honest opinion." Revan shrugged.

"Ughh!" Kara groaned, before going back in to try a new one.

Suddenly, both Kara's and Revan's communicators went off.

"Sweet Jeez. Talk about timing." Revan said, sighing, shaking his head as he saw the alert. There was a big bank robbery going on, and the criminals had taken almost two dozen hostages.

"Revan!" Kara called out from within the changing room.

"Yeah?" he said from outside. A hand extended out through the curtains and pulled Revan in.

Revan actually blushed upon seeing Kara. She was wearing a tank top and shorts, a dress hanging from the wall, clearly one she was going to get into.

"Hey Rev, you have to go save the day. Get Lena here, okay? Quickly!" Kara said, stunning Revan for a second further.

"Right. Uhh I almost don't wanna go. I mean look at you." He smirked.

Kara blushed a little, before grabbing his collar and pulling him into a kiss, brief but fierce. Revan quickly enveloped her whole body, her warmth radiating through the thin clothing she wore at the time. He could feel her skin shivering, but it was all cut short as Kara quickly pushed him off.

"Now go!" she said, her cheeks beet red.

"Be right back." He said, as he sped through the walls, so as not to draw attention, and quickly dropped Lena off at the storefront.

"Sorry, emergency. Kara's inside!" he quickly yelled to her before running off.

"Still not used to this." Lena said to herself before walking in.

Revan, now in his suit, quickly sped to the bank, stopping near the officers outside.

"What's the situation?" he asked, his voice vibrating.

"8 perps, all armed to the teeth. They've got C4 strapped to the civilians." The senior officer said.

"Okay then." Revan said about to zoom in, when the cop stopped him.

"There's something else. Some kind of a device, we don't know what it is. Be careful, Comet." He said.

"Will do. Thanks." Revan replied, nodding. He then sped up the walls and came in the top floor, through one of the windows. She'd like to have Kara with him, so she'd be able to see through walls, but he didn't have to depend on anyone.

He pressed a button on the underside of his left gauntlet, housing a lot of the controls. His goggles lit up, before showing him the exact spot of the eight robbers.

"SONAR comes in handy." He said to himself, as he tried to speed in, but his speed just didn't activate. "What the..?" he was confused, until he finally pieced it together. These guys had brought a meta-dampener with them.

"Winn!" he whispered through his comms.

"Yeah. What is it?" Winn replied.

"Starting now, I want you to find out how a few bank robbers got their hands on a frakking meta-dampener." He said.

"What? Where would they even-" Winn said, before being interrupted.

"Wait you don't have your powers? I'm coming." Kara said.

"Kara, no. Stay there. Pick a dress. I wanna see it when I get back. As for me, what do you think I did before I had powers?" he said smirkingly, before going quiet.

"Be careful." Kara said over comms as Revan got to work.

He slowly made his way to the top floor balcony. There was a guy right in front of him, looking out the window. Revan wasted no time sneaking up on him and knocking him out silently. He then moved the perp's body elsewhere. Then he slowly descended, taking the stairs, seeing as the next two men were standing together, near the lift doors opposite the stairs. He used his grapnel and quickly latched into the ceiling, hanging deftly as he'd trained for years. He threw a little gadget he carried a little ways away from the two men, the impact sound getting their attention. As one of the men went to check on the noise, Revan quickly dropped down on the other one that stayed behind, hitting him and rendering him unconscious. The gadget he'd thrown was a sound bomb, like a flashbang but without the lights. It went off, dazing the first guard that was there, making it easy for Revan to bench the guy. The sound bomb itself used ultrasonic frequencies, thus being silent to the other criminals in the building. Revan still had his element of surprise.

.

Kara walked out of the changing room, wearing a backless black dress. Lena looked at it for a second.

"It's good, but not for the occasion." Lena said.

"How come Alex picked her dress so easily?" Kara groaned again. "And Revan is out there by himself, no powers!"

"Kara, shush!" Lena said, her voice low, as she looked around. "Calm down Kara. Like Revan said, he's had experience dealing with people without powers. He'll be fine. There's no way he's letting you go to your sister's wedding alone. You just have to pick out a dress that'll blow him away when he gets back." Lena smirked at that.

Kara smiled. She was still worried, but Lena was right. She trusted him. "You're right. Onto the next one." She sighed out, throwing her hands up before walking back into the changing room.

.

Revan was currently inside one of the first floor offices, with a moderately clean view of the perps in the main hall. They spoke a different language, one he didn't understand, and he knew quite a few languages. He slowly advanced on the remaining five perps, a couple plans in his head. He retrieved a pair of bolas, and a small disk from his belt. The disc was thrown across the room, and there were a few noises heard. It was an ambient noise disc, quite a useful decoy tool. Two of the men went to check it out, leading them quite far away from the other three. He decided to take out the three first, when he spotted one of them with a spring loaded dead man's switch detonator. He quickly changed tactics, heading for the other two. If that guy's finger came off the trigger for a second, this whole place would become a crater. He threw one pair of bolas at one of the two that went away, immobilizing him for a second, and also enough to distract the other guy enough for him to lane a decisive blow, knocking him out, before quickly jumping on the other guy, shooting his elbow directly to the man's face, knocking him out too. Revan took one of their comms units, and fitted it into another device on his belt. He then retrieved a small spherical object, a smoke pellet. He ran off the first floor balcony, throwing the smoke pellet in the center of the room. Then, he activated his other device. It sent a deafeningly high frequency into the criminals' comms, creating a deadly noise in their ears, stunning them for a good bit. Revan quickly knocked out the two normal guys, one after another, before throwing the second pair of bolas at the main man, not to hit him, but to wrap around the detonator in his hand, both knocking it out of his hands, and wrapping around it keep applying pressure on the switch, making sure it didn't go off. The perp angrily fired at him, which Revan barely dodged by disappearing behind the pillars. Using his grapnel, he climbed to the ceiling, going unnoticed once again as the perp slowly advanced to the pillar Revan had hid behind at first. Revan seized his chance and jumped on top of the guy, knocking the gun from his hand and flooring him, locking him up a hold.

"Who sent you? Why are you here? You're not here to rob a bank, are you?" Revan yelled.

The man spoke in his foreign language. Revan sighed, before tightening his grip, knocking him out cold. He looked around for the meta-dampener, finding it hidden in a mini-garden near the main hall. Looking it over, it was a simple ionic field generator, and the only thing it did was bombard everything within range with enough ions to destabilize any meta-gene a person might carry. It was makeshift, good for a handful of uses at best. He quickly destroyed it, disassembled it and mangled up the components with his powers now returned. He then ran around, gathering up the men and tying them up, before finding the detonator. The bolas did their job nicely, holding the trigger down well. He quickly disassembled the little device, disarming the bombs.

"Okay, people, you're safe! Come out!" he yelled to the people in back room. The people came out, cowering a little at first, but relieved to see the hero standing triumphant over the tied up group of criminals.

"You're safe. No bombs going off." Revan said, before speeding to the main doors and letting the police in. "Good day, Officers." He waved, before speeding off.

.

Revan went into where Kara was, joining Lena as she was appraising Kara's latest choice. Then he saw her. She was wearing a light blue, full sleeve dress, a shrug cover flowing till her elbows. A little lily graced her left shoulder. He could have sworn that his heart stopped beating for a few seconds.

"She'd got the alert that you were done, so she's been wearing this for the last couple minutes to show you." Lena smirked from beside him.

"Oh." Was all Revan could manage. He was dazed and speechless at the awe-inspiring beauty of his Kryptonian girlfriend, so much so that he didn't even notice her walk down to him and hug him tightly.

"I'm so glad you're okay." Kara said shakily, before letting go.

"Um… yeah… uhh… You look beautiful." He barely managed to speak, his eyes still wide as saucers.

"I think we managed to blow him away, Kara." Lena said, walking over to Kara. "It's a safe bet to say this is the one. I'll be going now." She waved at Kara.

"You sure?" Kara asked.

"Yeah I have something to take care of. And don't worry, my car's already here." Lena said. "Have fun." She finished with her signature smirk.

Kara blushed at that remark, Revan's dazed look doing her no favors. She turned him and slowly spoke, "You really like this one huh?"

Revan finally managed to gain back some of his senses. He shook his head a bit. "Yeah," he nervously said, "I really do. Although it is kind of incomplete without the beautiful woman wearing it."

Kara giggled. It was a rare sight to see Revan actually speechless. "I'll get this packed up and we can go have some fun." She said, her eyes getting a bit dark at the end there, before she hurried into the changing room to get into her normal clothes. She came out within a second, then grabbed Revan's hand and pulled him to the counter, paying for the dress and leaving.

"I'm sorry you had to deal with those bank robbers alone. You had no powers." Kara said as they walked, hands intertwined as usual.

"Hey, if you came with me, I'd never get to see you in that dress." Revan said, a faint blush visible on his face.

Kara pursed her lips. "I'm glad you like it."

"More than that." Revan said, chuckling. "I love it. But it's nothing without you, you know."

"Keep talking like that and I'll have to blow you away again." Kara said, her voice low.

"Oh I'll be looking forward to it." Revan said in a similar tone. Then, he suddenly became serious. "Kara, those weren't regular bank robbers. They didn't even make any demands for the hostages, or make any attempts to get the money."

"Oh. What do you think they were there for?" Kara asked.

"I don't know. We'll have to keep our eyes open." Revan said. He noticed Kara's expression slowly getting a bit down. He quickly smiled. "But that's a matter for later. Right now, we have a wedding to look forward to!"

"Yeah." Kara said, her expression morphing into the brilliant, radiant smile that Revan couldn't help but melt at. "Come on," She excitedly said, "I'm starving!"

"Yeah, me too. Let's go." Revan replied.

X-X-X-X-X

I'm so sorry I'm late, guys, and that this one's a little short. I've hit a major writer's block. I'm working on getting over it, but I'll probably be quite a bit slower in updating. Although I'll not abandon anything, I promise!

Sanvers Wedding! I loved those two together, so no break up will happen on my watch!

Anyways, be sure to review to let me know what you think about this one. Or if you have any suggestions. I'll see you guys in the next one. Peace!
