The Shooting Star

Nonstandard Wedding

Kara woke up, finding herself lying haphazardly on her bed. There was no meta-human boyfriend next to her, so she slowly got up, put on some casuals and went outside to her living room.

Of course, there he was, Kara thought as she smiled, looking at Revan cooking breakfast. The smell of crispy toasts wafted over, flooding her nose as she hummed in satisfaction, walking to Revan.

Revan turned around, blushing a teensy bit, seeing Kara in her t-shirt and shorts. His face automatically warped into a warm smile when she came to him.

"Good Morning, Kara." He greeted as he continued grilling the toasts to perfection, readying a few onto a plate.

"Good Morning, Rev." she said, wrapping her arms around Revan from behind, snuggling into his back.

"The last few days were hectic, huh?" Revan asked, almost finished with cooking, as he was currently plating.

"Of course they were. It's my sister's wedding, after all." She smiled. "It's tomorrow, though. Talk about nerve wracking."

"Your sisters the one getting married." He chuckled, turning around in her grip to face her, slipping his hands around her waist. "You don't have to be nervous."

"I know. It's just… so much work went into this. I want it to be perfect for Alex." Kara said, looking into Revan's deep, black eyes.

"Of course you do. And it all will be. We've been working on this the whole past week. You, me, Alex, even Maggie and J'onn." He said, staring back into her bright blue eyes, bringing a hand up to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear. "Everything will be great."

Kara grinned at Revan, closing her eyes and tilting her chin up to plant a kiss on his lips. She could never get over how warm he always felt, how it was much more comfy and soothing than the sun that gave her and her cousin powers.

The two heroes broke apart as Revan went and served his breakfast for the day. Toasts and salsa sauce. Kara excitedly rubbed her hands together as she took a seat, and started scarfing down her toasts and sauce.

Revan looked at her and chuckled a little, before asking, "You like it, then?"

"Mm hmm." She replied, before swallowing to clear up her stuffed mouth. "It's delicious!"

"I'm glad." Revan said as he ate another toast.

"How'd you learn to cook so well?" Kara asked excitedly.

"Oh, my mom." Revan replied. "Cait absolutely stunk at cooking, so I helped mom out in the kitchen. Gradually, I began to like it, so I started learning and improving myself."

"I wish I could cook like that." Kara said, finishing up her breakfast.

"Hey, I can teach you a bit." Revan smirked, already having finished. "It's not hard at all."

"I'd love that." Kara said softly, taking his hand. Revan smiled back at her, rubbing his thumb over her knuckle, making soothing circles.

Suddenly, Revan's communicator went off. He responded to hear Winn's voice. "Guys, there's a big hostage situation in progress, near the waterfront."

"We're on our way, Winn." Revan said, hanging up and looking at Kara. "Well, duty calls."

"Yeah. Shall we, Shooting Star?" Kara smirked.

"Do let's, Girl of Steel." Revan smirked back as they both sped out the window, already in their suits.

.

.

Revan and Kara stopped short of the building, a tall apartment block. The police had formed a protective perimeter around the place.

"Hey, Supergirl, Comet." The lieutenant greeted the two heroes. "There's only five people inside, but they've isolated and secured the entire eighteenth floor, and currently have seventeen hostages with them."

"Demands?" Kara asked.

"None yet. Only for law enforcement to stay away. They've also disabled the lifts." The lieutenant said.

"What about the stairs? And the fire exits?" Revan asked, his voice vibrating as always.

"The fire exits seem untouched, but the stair doors on the eighteenth floor are blocked. Heavy debris, possibly furniture." The lieutenant replied.

"Okay we're going in. Stay alert, officers." Revan said, nodding to Kara as they sped into the building. Revan ran straight up the stairs, phased in through the furniture that was toppled in front of the door, and ran straight to the main lobby, while Kara simply flew in through the window. Upon seeing the hostages, Revan quickly sped them out of there, phasing them through the blocked stair door and instructing them on getting outside and to the police as fast as they could. The perps fired some shots, but Kara blocked them all so Revan could focus on getting the people out.

Once the hostages were out of danger, Revan quickly sped around, picking the guns out of the perps' hands and dismantling them to be safe. However, he noticed that out of the five, one of them was not carrying any weapons, and was wearing a protective mask.

"Why are you here?" Revan asked in his intimidating, vibrating voice as he stopped beside Kara, having disposed of the assault rifles they were carrying.

"Supergirl. Comet. It is a distinct honor." The masked man spoke, his voice distorted using a modulator.

"I'm guessing you're the leader, judging by the lead mask and voice change." Kara said, noticing the mask being made of lead as her super vision could not get through it.

"Very astute of you." The man spoke again. His mannerisms reminded Revan of Cizko, but his all American accent was fresh at least.

"My friend asked you a question." Kara replied, steel in her voice.

"Simple. This is my first attempt to tackle the Girl of Steel and her new shining partner. Let's begin." He said, before he reached into his pocket and brought out two objects. The first was a small pouch, holding something spherical by the looks of it. The second was a small electronic device, with some small buttons and a big red one. As soon as he pressed the red button, Revan felt his powers leave him.

"A dampener?" he asked, his voice now normal.

"You sound quite similar to your little intimidating voice, Comet. But don't move." As soon as the masked man finished, the criminal closest to him pulled a handgun out and pointed it at him. "Now it's your turn." He said, and he turned the pouch upside down, and a glowing green ball dropped down, rolling towards Kara. She immediately felt the effects of Kryptonite, weakening her, as she groaned a bit in pain and stumbled, putting a foot in front to catch herself.

"Where'd you get Kryptonite?" Revan asked, purposefully making his voice hoarse so they didn't exactly hear his voice.

"Curious, aren't we? I made it." The man said in a smug voice. "And it works, doesn't it?" he further added, before nodding at another criminal, who promptly took out his handgun and shot Kara in the leg.

Kara yelped in pain as she fell to her knees. The bullet had lodged itself into her right calf, blood slowly dripping out.

"No!" Revan yelled out.

"Ohho, it's getting exciting now!" the man excitedly.

Revan gritted his teeth, quickly forming a plan. He noticed everyone had handguns now, except the leader, of course. He was going to have to sacrifice the little surprise he was planning for Kara the next day, but he'd have to save her now.

"Pretend I said something anxious, then distract them." Revan said to Kara, adopting a worried stance, feigning to the criminals. Kara was shocked for a moment. Revan had just spoken perfect Kryptonese to her. She had no idea he could. However, receiving an imperceptible glare from Revan jolted back to what she needed to do.

"I'm fine, don't worry." She said, straining, before suddenly letting out a fake yell. This caused the focus of the criminals to split just for a second, and Revan struck.

He quickly knocked the gun out of the hand of the guy that had it trained at him, then threw out three devices that looked like tiny hockey pucks. They flew freely through the air before getting magnetically pulled to the other perps' guns. As soon as they attached, it drove in the center, like a miniature hydraulic piston, essentially destroying the guns. In the split second he threw those, he quickly threw a flashbang in front of him.

It didn't matter that his ears were ringing just like the others when the flashbang went off, because his visor protected his eyes, and that's all he needed. He quickly took down the perps, instantly knocking them out with no consideration or hesitation. The leader was about to get the same treatment, but before Revan could get to him, he'd pressed another device, and teleported out of there.

The minute the masked man left, Revan felt his powers come back, and he quickly ran Kara into one of the rooms, far enough to not feel the Kryptonite anymore.

"Kara, relax. I'll get the bullet out, but I need to hurry." he said. He quickly set her down on one of the beds, Kara groaning in pain. "Sorry." He said, before pulling off her boot to look at the wound. "Okay here goes." He said, slowly phasing his hand in.

"That tickles." Kara said.

"Just try to hold still for a second okay?" he said, worry becoming evident in his voice. He deftly maneuvered his hand, and before long, had fished the bullet out of Kara's leg.

"Okay. You're okay." He shakily said, before getting a little towel from the bathroom of the room to clean the blood a little, before wrapping it tightly around the wound. "This should do until the effects of the Kryptonite wear off."

"Thanks Rev. You really saved me back there. Now, when were you gonna tell me you could speak Kryptonese?" Kara said, narrowing her eyes at him.

"Uhh…." Revan awkwardly began, "I was planning on surprising you with it tomorrow." He said nervously. "I had Alex send me materials and texts so I could learn it."

"Seriously?" Kara said, feigning seriousness.

"Yeah. I learned it in the past couple days." Revan said.

Kara burst out laughing, before hugging him tight. "Well, even if it didn't go as planned, you surprised me good, and I love it." She said, grinning ear to ear into his shoulder.

Revan smiled, wrapping his arms around her and hugging her tightly back. They stayed like that for a few seconds until they parted, Revan checking on the wound to see it had healed. The effects of Kryptonite were gone.

"You go ahead. I'll round them up. I also have to bring that Kryptonite in. If he did make it, I need to see what's in it." Revan said, helping Kara put her boot back on.

"Okay, I'll see you back at base. I love you." She said, smirking as she spoke the last part in her native tongue.

Revan chuckled before replying, "I love you too." fluently, as Kara flew off, Revan going out and tying up the criminals, and picking up the ball of apparently artificial Kryptonite, taking it back to the DEO.

.

.

Revan ran straight to the lab, setting the green ball down, running the spectrometer over it.

Kara was in the medbay, getting checked out.

"How did these guys get kryptonite and a pocket meta-dampener?" Winn asked.

"I don't know. The guy in charge said he'd made the Kryptonite. Revan's checking it out." Kara replied, clearly a bit tired.

"Well we'd best find our new masked friend, before this kryptonite that he made spreads too much." J'onn said.

"I have some answers on that artificial Kryptonite, people." Revan called out from the door. The team got up and followed him to the lab, but Revan stopped Kara. "No you stay here. Watch from behind the glass. You can hear us fine. Okay?"

"Yeah." Kara said, giving Revan a small smile.

Revan entered the lab to explain the situation. "Well, this isn't real Kryptonite. It's basically an electronic device that mimics the radiation of Kryptonite rocks." Revan explained.

"Device? But it looks like a rock." Kara said.

"Well it is. It's cheap Quartzsite. The special thing here is that the circuitry is embedded into the molecular structure of the rock itself. That's why I can't absorb it immediately, because it's generating it instead of naturally liberating held energy. However, once I break the molecular lattice," he trailed off, before vibrating his hand and bringing it to the rock, running it through and breaking the thing in half, the glow immediately stopping, "it's circuitry breaks, and it stops working." He said, now showing off the two broken, completely transparent pieces of rock.

"Holy Hannah, this is wicked cool engineering. Embedded molecular circuitry, I didn't even know that was possible." Winn said, eyes wide as he took on of the halves into his hand.

"Me neither, and we were advanced back on my Earth." Revan sighed. "Moreover, this cheap quartzite is easy to get, so if the embedding process isn't very costly, they could mass produce this stuff easily."

"Well is it cheap?" J'onn asked.

"I don't know, but we should assume it is, and move forward to catch them as fast as we can." Revan said, worry on his face.

"Agreed. We need to find more about these people as quick as possible." J'onn said, before exiting the lab. "Carry on."

Revan exited the lab and hugged Kara. She could tell he was holding back quite a bit of anxiety, but she didn't poke into it.

"Let's go home, yeah Rev?" she gently said to him, cupping his cheeks.

"Yeah. Let's go." Revan said. He did up his mask and was about to run, when Kara suddenly picked him, and flew off.

Revan chuckled, before relaxing in her grip as she soared high above. The view of the city, and the hills beyond was absolutely spectacular.

"How do you like this then?" Kara grinned.

"The view is amazing." Revan said, lowering his mask again. "And the city looks great too." He added with a smirk.

Kara blushed. "Did I ever tell you how smooth you are?" she said.

"Once or twice." Revan said with a small smirk, feigning thoughtfulness before answering. Kara giggled heartily and Revan melted once again. "I love your laugh." He spoke in Kryptonese.

"Is that right?" She asked, sporting a smirk of her own.

"Yeah. Almost as much as I love you." He said, his expression soft, warm.

"I love you too." Kara said, smiling brightly. She then surged forward, meeting Revan halfway for a passionate kiss as they floated in the clouds, nothing to interrupt them, as they melted into each other.

.

.

Revan quickly sped into the suit that he'd purchased for the grand occasion that was Alex's wedding, cleaning up within a second as he ran out of bathroom, checking on Kara. She was fumbling with her dress.

"Kara what are you doing?" Revan asked, chuckling a bit.

"I don't wanna use my super speed. What if I damage the dress?" Kara cried out.

"Well allow me." Revan smirked, before speeding around, slipping the dress onto her. Within three seconds, Kara was all dressed up.

"Thanks, Rev." Kara said, breathing a sigh of relief.

"Anytime. Now hurry! We have to get to the church in ten minutes." Revan said.

"Thank Rau for our super speed." Kara sighed. "I can't even count all the times I would be late every time I overslept."

Revan just laughed, before picking Kara up bridal style and running off.

The church still hasn't opened. They had time to spare when they entered. Maggie was sitting there, breathing heavily but steadily, while Kara could hear Alex in the other room, her mom helping her with her dress.

"Well, looks like you made it in time." Kara heard a familiar voice, turning to see Clark walking towards her.

"Clark!" she cried out, giving him a hug.

"Hey, Clark." Revan greeted, shaking his hand when he and Kara separated.

"Alex is probably losing her mind, Kara. You should help her out." Clark said.

"Yeah. Two minutes till the church doors open, fifteen minutes till the ceremony. If I know Alex, she's probably hyperventilating, and she will for the next seventeen minutes." Revan smirked.

"Yeah yeah you're right. I'll see you in a bit." She said to both the men, before turning to Revan and getting a bit close. "Especially you." She smirked, her eyes darkening.

"Can't wait." Revan replied, running a finger down Kara's chin, as Kara giggled for a second before going off to Alex.

"You know Kryptonese?" Clark asked, surprised.

"Oh yeah. I learned recently to surprise Kara. Didn't exactly go according to plan, but it all worked out." Revan shrugged.

"And here I am being a complete vegetable at Kryptonese." Clark sighed.

"Wait what? You can't speak it?" Revan said, surprised. Clark was Kryptonian after all.

"I've been trying for quite some time, but I just can't seem to get the hang of it. I can get phrases, but I'm nowhere near as fluent as Kara, or even you, judging by how you two spoke." Clark conceded.

"So you can't understand it very well. Good to know." Revan said, throwing a deliberate smirk Clark's way.

"Whoa whoa whoa-" Clark began to speak, getting what Revan seemed to be insinuating, only to be interrupted.

"I'm kidding, relax." Revan said, laughing. "I can give you some pointers later."

"Thanks." Clark said.

"Don't mention it." Revan said.

The doors of the church opened, and people started entering. One of the first people to enter was Lois.

"Hey Lois." Revan smiled.

"Revan! How are you? No hand shake business, come here." She said, stretching out her arms. Revan accepted the hug, before stepping back. "I'm all good. I hope you are too." He replied.

"Absolutely. Hey babe." She said, going to Clark and planting a kiss on his lips. "Looks like you remembered to shave." She smirked.

"Well how could I not after you telling me 14 times?" Clark laughed. Revan chuckled as well, observing more familiar faces as guests poured in.

.

.

"Alex, relax!" Kara yelled out, as her sister stood in front of a mirror, putting on her dress, hyperventilating since the last three minutes.

"Kara… I look… hideous, don't I?" Alex gasped between breaths.

"Alex you look beautiful!" Eliza said as she was almost finished with Alex's dress. "Tell her Kara."

"Yeah Alex, you really look incredible." Kara said, her tone both genuine and fearful.

"Kara, everything will be okay, right?" Alex pleadingly asked.

"Of course they will!" Kara said with confidence, hoping some of it transferred to Alex.

"What if… what if I'm not a good wife? What if Maggie isn't happy with me?" Alex asked, tears now stinging her eyes.

"Alex, listen to me." Kara said firmly, grabbing Alex's shoulders, bringing her face to face with herself. "You are a beautiful, strong, independent, loving, caring woman, and anybody would be lucky to have you. Rau, I was lucky to have as my sister! You helped me get over the pain of losing my entire world! This is going to be a different, newer experience, but you'll pull through. I know that better than anyone."

Alex's lips trembled as she pulled her sister into a tight, emotional hug. "Thanks, Kara." She said with a shaky voice, her face still half covered by Kara's shoulders, not letting go of Kara just yet.

"Of course. Anytime, anything for my sister." Kara said, her fondness evident.

Alex finally let go of Kara. "I'm just so happy… I'm marrying the woman I love so much! I want to make her happy, and I want everything to be perfect."

"Alex, nothing's ever perfect. If anything, we should know that better than anyone. But no matter what, you'll love her more than anyone. That's what matters!" Kara said now.

"Exactly honey." Eliza now said, done with her work aside from Alex's dress. The two didn't even notice her leave them and get ready. "You'll make a great wife, Alex, just you watch."

"It's almost time to go." The three ladies looked to the door to see J'onn standing there, in a nice black suit and red shirt, reminiscent of his actual Martian attire.

"J'onn." Alex gasped out, before going to hug the person that was the closest she had to a father now. J'onn hugged her back, doing his best to stop tears from rolling down his cheeks. He let go of Alex and cleared his throat, before speaking, "If you're ready, shall we?"

Alex took one final look at Kara and Eliza, then nodded.

.

.

Revan and Clark were helping everyone to the seats, looking around if anyone needed anything.

Suddenly, he felt some energy in a nearby alley. "Hey Clark, give me a second, okay?"

Clark nodded, and Revan walked out of the church, only to see Barry, Cisco and Caitlin coming up.

"Barr? Cait? Cisco?" Revan asked, incredibly surprised.

"Hey Rev." Caitlin said.

"Kara invited us, secretly so we could surprise you again." Barry smirked.

Revan laughed before stretching his arms. "Come here." He said, smiling, as the three accepted and stepped into the group hug. "Alright let's go in." he said once they were done, escorting them into the church.

Soon, it was time for the ceremony, and everyone took their seats. Revan, Barry, Caitlin and Cisco sat in the first bench, Clark and Lois right behind them. Revan fondly watched as Kara and Eliza entered the church slowly, followed by J'onn and Alex. Alex looked absolutely beautiful, and Revan turned his head to look at Maggie who was already on the dais, looking like she was about to burst into tears. J'onn delicately escorted Alex to the dais, letting go of her hands as she went and took Maggie's now. Kara and Eliza stood beside them, Eliza holding the rings on a pillow.

Kara looked at Revan and smiled, seeing Barry, Cisco and Caitlin beside him. She lipped 'You're Welcome' to Rev, who whispered back, "Thank you", knowing Kara would have no problem hearing it, and surely, she grinned at him once he did.

"So, when are we getting an invite for you and Kara?" Caitlin now whispered in him ear. Barry chuckled beside him.

Revan suddenly got flustered, stammering. "W-well, it's a little… a little too early right now. We're not in a hurry, a-are we?" Kara wasn't much better off either, her blush visible from even the back of the hall.

"We'll be looking forward to it then." Barry now said, smirking.

Revan shook his head, smiling as the two ladies center stage both said their vows, and Eliza stepped forward to present them with their rings.

As they put the rings on each other's fingers, the priest beamed as he spoke, "I now pronounce you, Woman and Wife! You may kiss the bride, either of you."

Alex and Maggie met halfway, passionately kissing each other as everyone broke out in celebratory roars and thunderous applause. Kara was almost jumping, while both Eliza and J'onn had tears in their eyes.

It was a good day for the entire family.

X-X-X-X-X

Hollo! Alex and Maggie are married! Sanvers unstoppable right now.

Now the villain I introduced is another of my OCs, at least to my knowledge. I don't think there is anyone like the person I've shown in the comics, but hey I could be wrong. DC themselves lose count of how many characters they have at times.

I hope you guys like how I've been showing Revan getting more vigilante the last couple chapters. I wanted to make sure that the whole 'vigilante before superhero' thing stuck, hence the segments of him losing his powers due to a meta-dampener.

And now to the promotive segment. Go show my other stories some love, guys! That was a request, not a command, sorry. Please?

And as always, let me know what you think of this chapter in a review, and stay tuned for the next one. Peace!
