Together

Revan opened his eyes, orange light trickling into the room through the curtains. He rubbed at his eyes a bit, felt around the bed, looked around to see he was alone in his and Kara's apartment bedroom. He slowly sat up, the events of the night prior reestablished in his mind. He sighed heavily. Thank goodness he could breach through time before his body completely disintegrated.

"Is that you, Rev?" Revan heard Kara's voice from outside the room.

"Yeah." He replied.

Kara walked in with two cups of coffee, wearing an eerily familiar tshirt, and not much else, making Revan blush slightly.

"Is that my shirt?" Revan smirked, trying to hide the redness on his cheeks.

"It is." Kara smirked back. She placed the cups on the night stand, then plopped onto the bed beside Revan, leaning in and pressing her lips to his. Revan chuckled into the kiss, pulling Kara close with one hand behind her waist.

"How are you?" Kara asked as they broke off.

"Rested. Thanks for coffee." Revan smiled.

"I know how much of a coffee freak you are. You could have given Cat a run for her money." Kara said matter-of-factly. "But you're sure you're alright?" she asked, putting a hand on his chest, feeling his heat, his heartbeat through his warm skin. Her voice was soft, thickly laced with concern.

Revan lifted her face by putting a hand under her chin. "I promise. I'm okay. Still not upto 100%, but okay."

Kara nodded, eyes closed, sighing heavily, before leaning forward and burying her face in Revan's shoulder. She ran her fingers into his hair. She always did that whenever she got the chance. His messy hair did look adorable almost all the time.

Revan soothingly ran his hand over her back, and kissed her temple, again and again. They both needed to tell each other that it was okay, especially Kara. Nobody died, they were alive and well. Kara slowly backed up a bit, only to tilt her head up and kiss Revan. It was slow, overflowing with love and passion. She thought she might actually cry, and so did Revan, but they didn't. They kept kissing, melding their lips together, as their arms snaked around each other, pulling them as tightly together as possible. It wasn't long before Revan just tilted them enough for them to once again lie down on the bed, on their sides as they kissed each other with a fire they'd only known with each other.

To ruin their mood, Kara's phone rang, breaking them both out of their trance. They both broke apart, dazed, gasping for breath.

"We can never have a moment's peace with these guys, can we?" Kara said in a frustrated tone as she looked at her phone. "Yup, Alex."

"Well, let's see what she's saying." Revan said.

Kara picked up the call. "Hello? Yeah he's doing better." She shook her head, smiling at Revan. "Of course. You called just for that?" she asked incredulously. Then Alex said something that caused Kara to go red. "Yeah, bye Alex." She quickly said, cutting the call.

"What'd she say?" Revan asked.

"She'll be here with the others by 8, which is plenty of time for us to be lazy." Kara said, before attacking Revan's face again. Revan let out a small yelp of surprise, before kissing Kara back with vigor.

Midway though, he stopped to ask, "She asked about whether we're doing exactly what we are doing, didn't she?" smirking at Kara.

"Uhhh why do you have to be so smart?" Kara near yelled, pouting.

"You know how much I love- absolutely love… teasing you every now and then." Revan chuckled. "You look so adorable."

"Shut up and kiss me." Kara growled, literally.

Revan complied, no questions asked. He kissed her fiercely to match her. Kara shifted so she was now on top of Revan as they kept making out on the bed, being anything but lazy and restful.

"I feel like I could just curl up into you and sleep for weeks." Revan said. "But they'll be here any minute."

Kara groaned, her voice muffled from her face being pushed into Revan's shoulder. "Fiiiine" she exaggeratedly said.

Revan chuckled, speaking, "Move your butt, Ms. Danvers. As much as I like it within reach."

"Oh you do, do you? Well too late." Kara said, sticking her tongue out at him, then floating off and standing next to the bed, slipping into some presentable casual clothes.

"I kind of feel bad now. Seeing my shirt on you… did things to me." Revan said, getting up and speeding into his usual jeans and shirt combo.

Kara smirked at him, before promptly taking off her frilly top. Revan's face went red, and it did nothing to help him when she promptly went and put on one of Revan's black shirts over her jeans. "Now how does that make you feel?"

"You're enjoying torturing me a little too much. I'm supposed to be still recovering!" Revan said

"So I should forget about everything we've been doing for the whole day? The positions we were in…" Kara smirked even more as she drew closer. "Your concussions are fine, Mr. Snow."

"Kara…" Revan whispered, feeling Kara's hot breath on his face.

"Yes, Rev?" Kara teasingly asked.

"We… should get ready… -er." Revan said, now smiling.

"Yeah. We should." Kara said, and then they both started chuckling.

"I love you." Revan said, planting a quick kiss on Kara's lips, then one on her forehead.

"I love you too." Kara smiled, purring as she received her kisses.

"Alright, plates." Revan said.

"Cups."

"Food."

"Seats?"

"We'll see." The two quickly rolled off their list of things to do.

Then they sped around the apartment. First, they quickly laid out plates and cups and all the other silverware.

Revan got to cooking, while Kara was there to heat everything faster. Before that, however, she flew out to get some drinks. Their fridge was almost void of Cola and other drinks by now. Revan had chugged quite a few in the morning in his 'recovery consumption phase'.

Kara flew in the window in a few minutes with bags of drinks, seeing Revan happily busy on the stove.

"Pigs in Blankets?" Kara asked, grinning.

"What else?" Revan smirked.

"What else are you making?" Kara asked, putting the drinks in the fridge.

"I'm thinking I'll keep it simple, make some chicken nuggets, these Piggies, some chips maybe?" Revan asked.

"Sounds great!" Kara said, hugging Revan from behind as he gladly worked away at the cooking food in front of him. She then let go of him and was about to walk away somewhere, when she froze. "Oh no."

"What?" Revan asked, concerned.

"They're here. They're climbing up the stairs right now! The snacks aren't ready!" Kara near yelled.

"Crap." Revan ran a hand through his hair. Forget ready, he hasn't even got started with the snacks yet. They could get ready for anything within seconds. Food, however, did not have their speed, as they were realizing. "Okay I have a plan, but it'll take a lot out of me." He sighed, before he started vibrating. Then, a wave of energy burst out of him, going through Kara, spreading to the whole kitchen.

"What-" Kara tried.

"I'm taking the whole room into speed time." Revan said, voice straining. "Including you, so get cooking!"

Kara immediately jumped to action, shooting her heat vision at everything to be cooked. Revan chopped up potatoes and starched them up to be made into chips, then got the minced chicken and got it battered up. He knew he couldn't keep this up for long, so he had to get everything before he could no longer hold on.

Kara was heating everything she needed to, occasionally looking at Revan to make sure he wasn't pushing himself too far.

Within 10 more minutes of speed time, everything looked ready enough, so Revan stopped, gasping for a second.

"Revan you okay?" Kara asked, rushing to his side.

"Hey hey, I'm fine!" Revan smiled. "It's like sprinting, gets me winded for a while. I'll catch my breath soon enough." He got up and headed for the fridge. "I'll take an energy bar though."

"Okay…" Kara trailed off, her voice giving away her concern.

"Hey." Revan called to her, almost cooed, pulling Kara into his arms. Kara looked at him with worry, almost a fearful look. She put her hands on his shoulders, and looked down, trying to calm herself.

"No no none of that." Revan tilted her face up back towards him by her chin, rubbing his thumb over it, before moving his hand back to her cheek. "We don't force feelings." He looked her reassuringly. "I'm fine. Look at me."

Kara nodded, almost frantically, before burying her face into Revan's shoulder. "Okay." She said, her voice barely audible.

"You've got me, Kara. You have me till however long you'll have me." Revan said, kissing the top of her head.

Kara sniffled into his shoulder. Just then, the doorbell rang.

"That's probably them." Revan said. "Are you okay? We can-" Revan was cut off by Kara's lips over his. The kiss was brief, but spoke volumes. When it was over, Kara smiled, and Revan felt like he was falling for her all over again. That radiant smile of hers would be the death of him.

"I'm okay. Promise." Kara said, before heading to open the door.

Revan smiled after her, before going to set the table for snacks. "Hey! How are you? How's Revan?" Alex's voice wafted through the living room as Revan was putting down the glasses. He would have sped around the apartment, but that shared speed time burst took a lot out of him, so he didn't want to risk getting too tired. Especially since he'd only dodged death by a micrometer yesterday, and Kara was still worried about him.

"He's setting up. And he cooked everything for you guys." Kara said, flashing a proud smile. Revan had made a name for himself on being a great cook.

"Whoa, looking forward to tastebud heaven." Alex said.

Revan, having adequately laid out everything, peeked around the corner. "Hey guys!" he greeted. Alex was followed by J'onn and Maggie.

"Hey Rev." Alex greeted back.

"Hello Revan." J'onn waved with his greeting. "Taking care, I hope."

"You hope in vain, J'onn." Revan smirked, as he leaned against a wall as everyone made their way to the couch, Revan slowly joining them. He and Kara sat down side by side, Revan wrapping an arm around her. Alex and Maggie did much the same, J'onn sitting on the armchair.

"Lena and Winn are on their way. Should be here anytime." Alex said.

"Alright then." Revan said. "Wait where's Jason?"

"I don't know. We haven't seen him since Kara took you home and he left." J'onn spoke.

"Son of a…" Revan muttered to himself. "Give me a minute." He said to everyone, running off out the window.

Revan ran up to the roof of CatCo, and let out a small beam of yellow light into the sky. He then got on his comms and tried to tune in to the communicator the DEO had given Jason before their fight with Xa-Du.

"Really? You had to do the flare gimmick?" Jason's voice came over.

"Well I had to get your attention somehow. And I knew you'd be brooding looking at the sky." Revan replied.

"Smartass. What do you want?" Jason said, chuckling a bit.

"Where are you? We're having Games Night at our apartment, come on." Revan said.

"Games Night, huh? I don't know." Jason said.

"Dude, either you're coming or I'm combing this city till I find you and dragging you there." Revan said.

"Ooh look at you, Mr. Confident. Forgetting I can teleport?" Jason said.

"Forgetting I have Time Remnants?" Revan challenged right back.

"Uhh, fine let's go." Jason sighed, before appearing beside Revan on a golden flash of light.

"Knew you'd anchored me." Revan smirked, before taking him back to his and Kara's apartment.

"Jason!" Kara yelled as they entered through the window. "How are you?"

"Good. How's this idiot?" Jason asked Kara, pointing at Revan.

"Recovering, yet in denial." Kara said.

"Sounds about right." Jason smirked, as Revan shook his head. "Hey guys." He waved at Alex, J'onn and Winn, who'd arrived.

"Hey Jason." Alex greeted back. "This is Maggie, my wife."

"Hello." Maggie greeted.

"Pleasure. Jason Todd." He said, offering a handshake, which she accepted.

Just then, the doorbell rang. Revan went to open the door, revealing Lena. "Hey Lena." He greeted.

"Hey Revan. How are you? Gave me quite a fright, I'll have you know." Lena said, her face a mixture of humour and concern.

"You and all of us." Kara said, coming up beside Revan. "Hey Lena." She said, giving Lena a hug, as the three went back into the living room.

"I don't believe we've met." Lena spoke, addressing Jason. "Lena Luthor."

"Jason Todd." Jason introduced himself.

"Were you the other person with the team last night?" Lena asked.

"Yep. That was me." Jason replied.

"Good to know." Lena smiled. "Hey Alex, Maggie, J'onn."

"Now, who's ready for tonight's game?" Kara excitedly spoke.

"What do you have for us today?" Maggie asked.

"Scotland Yard!" Kara announced, grabbing the game from under the table.

"You're kidding me." Revan said, a smile on his face.

"You like it?" Kara asked.

"Like? It was one of my favourite board games back on my Earth. Assuming the rules are the same here." Revan said.

"He has to be Mr. X then." Alex said, slapping her hand on the table.

"Oh it's on. You guys don't know what you just signed up for." Revan smirked.

"What he means is," Jason spoke, "he was the bane of our existence everytime he was Mr. X on Scotland Yard." He glared at Revan.

"It's not my fault y'all couldn't catch me. I am pretty fast." Revan shrugged smugly.

"Oh get out." Jason said.

"Okay okay, let's play then!" Kara announced, and everyone got started.

.

.

.

"You sneaky little jerk!" Alex yelled, as Revan revealed he was on the other side of the map, far away from her piece. "How the hell did you get there?!"

"Why, I took some very cool transportation routes." Revan replied, chuckling.

"Kara, you're the nearest. You have to get to him. We'll catch up." Lena told Kara as she quickly used a cab token.

"Looking pretty dry there, Lena. You sure you'll make it?" Revan smirked.

"You worry about yourself, Rev!" Kara yelled, slapping her bus token down. "I'm coming for you!"

"Gods save me!" Revan feigned despair, before lifting his piece off, his whereabouts once again unknown.

"I told you guys, you can't catch him." Jason sighed, sipping on Cola and watching the game alongside J'onn.

"No kidding." Winn said. He and Maggie had run out of tickets, and were out.

"How the hell is it that we're always at least 3 stops away from him?" Maggie asked.

"He's too good at predicting patterns. He will plan for every possible route you guys can take from your current stop and move accordingly." Jason said. "He might have passed by right next to you when his piece was invisible."

The game went on for several more minutes, with plenty of yelling from Kara, Alex and Lena. Eventually, Alex and Lena ran out of tickets, and only Kara remained.

"Careful, Kara." Revan smirked. "You've got only a few more tickets left."

"Shut up." Kara said, focusing, thinking what to do.

"Okay, you know what?" Revan said. "Because you didn't know what you were in for, and I love you so much, I'll give you a gift." He then placed his piece on the board.

"Kara, he's literally three stops from you!" Alex yelled out.

"He's also on a triple stop, so he can take whatever. Kara has no train tickets left." Lena sighed.

"Indeed, Lena." Revan smiled.

"Well, take the bus! He's close, so you have a chance!" Alex said.

"Which way? It goes West to 123 and East to 78. How do I know where he went?" Kara asked.

"He'll probably go East. Going West backs him in a corner." Alex said.

"He might be counting on you to expect the exact same thing and go into the corner. Reverse Psychology." Lena said.

"So you're back to square one." Jason chuckled. Revan did as well.

J'onn merely watched as they struggled to catch him. He was frankly impressed by the strategic planning Revan was capable of. It could just be his speedster brain, but even so, it takes a certain focus to plan several steps ahead, especially as many steps as Revan seemed to think about.

"No!" Kara yelled as she realised she was out of tickets. "Damn it, where are you?"

Revan smugly placed the route log in front of then and placed his piece on the spot he was.

"Goddamn it, he did go to the corner." Lena said.

"I just have to say, Revan has the best poker face I've seen." J'onn spoke from his spot.

"Agreed." Jason sighed.

"Don't say I didn't warn you." Revan shrugged.

"Oh how I hate you." Kara muttered, eyes narrow.

"I love you too." Revan chuckled, placing a kiss on a grumbling Kara's forehead.

"Rev, I hate you for the game, but you're forgiven for this food." Winn said in between morsels.

"Okay, that I agree with. Your cooking is amazing." Alex said, Maggie humming in agreement.

"I'm flattered, everyone. Thank you." Revan said, doing a mock dramatic bow, before going back to holding his grumbling girlfriend close. Everyone heartily ate the nuggets and Pigs in Blankets, several bottles on beer and cola still on the table.

"I thought you'd go easy on me." Kara said.

"You're not one to let someone go easy on you and let you win." Revan smirked.

"Why do you always have to be right?" Kara grumbled, hugging Revan tighter.

"Okay, come here." Revan said, pulling Kara close and planting a kiss on her forehead. With all the food and fun everyone'd had, things were winding down. Eventually, their friends started leaving.

"Bye, everyone." Lena waved. Alex, Maggie and J'onn did much the same, pulling Winn out before he engaged Jason on a tech conversation.

"This was… fun. Let me know when the next one is." Jason said.

"You got it." Revan replied. Jason snapped his fingers and disappeared.

"Rev, give me a second, okay? I'll just go with Alex for a bit and come back." Kara said.

"Is anything the matter?" Revan asked.

"No no! Nothing's wrong. Just, something to discuss." Kara said.

"Oh-kay…" Revan said, albeit a bit confused.

"I love you." Kara said, planting a quick kiss on Revan's lips before leaving, rushing behind Alex.

Revan sighed and closed the door. He went to the table and cleaned up. Well, it was over in two seconds, but it was work. The plates were clean, the plastic cups were in the bin, board games sorted out. Revan looked around, decided everything was good, then went and got himself a Cola from the fridge. He stood by the window as he sipped his Cola, pondering on everything. He felt better about himself, having stopped that magnetar from destroying his new home world and protecting the people he'd come to love now. He'd actually not perfectly known if he'd survive that run around the magnetar, if he'd be able to make a time remnant while he was running so fast to make his own pulsar wave. But he had, and now he was with his Kara again.

His Kara. It felt weird, but so good to say it. Made him warm and fuzzy from the inside, made him giddy. He'd had no idea he'd grow so attached to the woman that had merely been assigned to show him around his workplace, and also happened to be a superhero.

He missed his world, his family, his parents and his sister, his old team. But he wouldn't trade Kara for anyone. Besides, like Jason said, others made it out alive from his world too, thanks to Vibe and Tempus. He raised his bottle and toasted to them, silently, swearing to find the others.

"I'm back!" Revan turned to see Kara closing the other window, having flown in.

"Hey, hon." Revan smiled, walking over and enveloping her in a hug.

"What?" Kara asked.

"Nothing, just… thinking about everything that has happened…ever since, you know… I crashed here." Revan said, his voice light.

Kara rubbed a hand across his hair, holding him close. She knew what the pain of losing someone's world might do to them.

"But," Revan continued, "I'm truly grateful to have found you, and I wouldn't trade this life for all the do-overs."

"I'm grateful for you too, Rev. I was so broken before I met you. With Mon-El gone… but you taught me to accept it. You helped me move past it, and before I knew it, I'd fallen in love with you." Kara spoke, smiling widely. "You know, I almost felt like dying, when you forced me," she hit Revan slightly, eliciting an 'ow' from him, " and then I stood there, powerless to help you, believing you were going to die, believing you had died for a minute." Kara stopped, taking a shaky breath, her eyes closed.

Revan kissed Kara's forehead. "I'm sorry, but you know I had to."

"I know, I know." Kara smiled. "But it made me realize… just how much you mean to me. I don't want a life without you, and I want you with me for as much time as I get to have with you." Kara started fishing something from her back pocket. "So, Revan Snow," she got down on one knee, "will you marry me?" she presented a dark colored, metal bracelet. It had a tiny House of El coat of arms on it.

Revan, who was barely breathing a second ago, was now breathing heavily every second. "Holy Shit."

"Screw the whole 'The guy proposes' trope, right?" Kara giggled nervously. "We used bracelets on Krypton, not rings, so…" she trailed. She was getting more and more anxious by the minute. "Please say something?"

"Are you joking? Yes! Yes, I'll marry the shit out of you!" Revan literally giggled as he picked her up and spun her around, before kissing her ardently, Kara returning the kiss gladly. She broke off and put the bracelet on Revan's left wrist.

"We'll need rings too, but this is perfect." Revan smiled widely. He couldn't express his joy properly, he was literally glitching inside his head. He was now engaged to the love of his life. "I love you." Revan said, switching to Kryptonian. "And you have just made me the happiest man alive."

"I love you too, and you just made the happiest woman alive." Kara replied, kissing him again. Revan pulled her back so he landed on the couch, sitting while Kara kissed him fervently, straddling his lap. Revan's arms were wrapped tightly around her waist and torso, occasionally sending a hand up to her cheek to caress it. Kara's hands were already buried in his hair, messy as always. They poured all the love and joy they felt, all the passion, the fervor they had in them, into their kiss.

They broke apart soon, although only holding themselves inches away from each other, as they gasped for air. Revan gazed into Kara's bright, blue eyes, getting lost in then all over again as he had for the first time all those months ago. Kara looked right back, his deep, black eyes almost like a swirling, infinite abyss, with an infinite number of things hiding inside.

"Hey Kara?" Revan said.

"Yes Revan?" Kara asked.

"Take me flying?" Revan asked.

"Alright, let's go." Kara replied. She then promptly picked Revan up and flew out the window. The late night sky seemed like an ocean, floating high above them as they flew it. Kara quickly ascended a bit more, flying through a cloud, as a light mist of moisture hit their faces, making both of them giggle.

"I love you." Revan said. "For as long as you'll have me."

"How about forever?" Kara asked.

"Then forever it is." Revan replied, as the two heroes soared through the vast expanse of the night sky.
