It's early in the morning, and a new day is ahead for everyone at East High. Sharpay walked through the big front doors and went upstairs to her locker, wanting the day to pass by quickly. She placed her stuff in her locker and closed it, to see Zeke back in his usual spot like yesterday, and the day before.
"Good morning Sharpay!"
"...Good morning Zeke…"
"What's wrong with you? You seem down…"
"I just don't feel like being here today."
"Then why did you come?"
"My parents forced me to come here with Ryan. They usually let me stay home if I don't feel like coming, so I don't know why they forced me to come today."
"Well, why don't you want to be here?"
"An upcoming show I've had my eyes on finally aired the first episode today. But, it aired when I was leaving the house."
"Oh."
"So yeah, that's why. Now, can you move so I can go to homeroom?"
Sharpay grabbed her books and slammed her locker shut, leaving Zeke hesitant to interact with her. He just moved on with his day and went to homeroom.
Lunchtime was finally here, but Sharpay wasn't downstairs in the lunchroom. Instead, she was upstairs, working on an essay for Christmas. Zeke was looking everywhere for her but didn't see her.
He grabbed his lunch and went upstairs. He looked around until he saw Sharpay sitting down in ELA, working on something. He went up to her and spooked her, making her distracted.
"ZEKE!…Don't do that again…"
"What're you doing up here during lunch?"
"I'm working on this essay."
"What's it about?"
"Stuff I'd like for my birthday."
"Oh. Can I read it?"
Zeke tried to take the paper away, but Sharpay caught it with her hands. The expression on her face was like, "touch the paper, and I'm hurting you."
"I didn't agree with you reading it."
"But please? Pretty please?"
"...Fine."
Sharpay handed Zeke the paper and he started to read it. He gazed upon a section talking about what she wanted for Christmas, and why.
"For my birthday, I want a pink pastel dress, cute heels, some new earrings, a faithful boyfriend…"
Zeke instantly stopped at that boyfriend part. He thought that he could fit the role, but she might not want him like that. But that's what he thought.
"You want a boyfriend? I thought you already had one."
"I did but, he broke up with me."
"Oh."
"So, let's not talk about him…"
"Okay. Uh, moving on, do you want to come with me to a café after school?"
"Maybe…it all depends on what I feel like during dismissal."
"Okay! Well, I'll be right over here, eating."
Zeke sat at a desk near Sharpay, as she went back to writing. While she was writing, she started to daydream a little bit. Sharpay created small scenarios of her and Zeke together, as a couple….wait…why was she imagining that?
"Don't I hate him?...Or do I love him…"
Finally, the day was over, but Sharpay's wasn't, since she still had that date with Zeke. As she was getting her stuff, Zeke was leaning on some lockers, as usual.
"Are we still going on that date?"
"...I guess."
Sharpay closed her locker and grabbed Zeke's hand. He instantly felt butterflies in his stomach as they walked out of the school. After they were out, Sharpay stopped.
"Where are we going for our first date?"
"A café to start us off simple."
"It sounds cute - why am I thinking that…"
"Oh, okay."
Finally, they were at the café and were sitting at a booth near a window.
"Uh, Sharpay?"
"Hm?"
"What's your type?"
Sharpay had almost spit her drink out hearing that question.
"What's my type?"
"Mhm."
"Well, to be completely honest, I don't know. I've never thought about it."
"Then think about what your boyfriend had in him."
"He was handsome, had money, had a good body…"
"Is that it?"
"From what I remember, yes."
"So you want a handsome guy who has money and a good body?"
"I definitely don't want that, since most guys who are like that are arrogant, mean, and selfish."
"Well, what do you want?"
"A kind-hearted guy who looks out for his girlfriend, is nice to everyone besides his enemies, and loves food."
"That sort of sounds like me…"
"Are you talking about me?"
"Maybe…"
"I'm definitely in love with him…and I can't deny it…"
After 30 more minutes at the café, Zeke was walking Sharpay home. The cold air made Sharpay stick to Zeke, which was cute. They arrived in front of Sharpay's home. But before Sharpay went inside, she gave Zeke a small surprise. She planted a peck on Zeke's cheek, making him feel butterflies everywhere. After she did that, she said bye and went inside. Zeke took a second to celebrate himself getting a kiss from Sharpay before he walked home.
Hello, person who's reading this! Finally, another chapter. I don't know why this took so long to finish. But enjoy! Also, Happy New Year!
