Hello, everyone! I know I've haven't been writing much on this site lately but know that my stories are still active. I've recently became a huge fan of Hazbin Hotel/Helluva boss and I wanted to start one of my fanfic of this franchise. Here's the first chapter of my first Hazbin Hotel story.
This tale came from the creative minds of Reby Montana and yours truly. Please give a shout out to her, especially if you're a Hazbin fan!
Here's something I must let you know: I am very well aware and respect each character's sexual preferences and relationship statuses, but me and Reby have other ideas for them, so I hope and pray that you come to understand and respect our decisions, especially since almost all these characters are fictional. Also, as a Christian, I am not a fan for foul languages and demonic rituals, but we're only human. So, if you dislike my story, I won't judge you. But please keep all negative and rude thoughts to yourself. If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. Thank you!
A/N: The setting takes place in medieval Hell where all our the main characters are hellborn demons instead of sinners and are described as different nationalities or clans. Some characters may speak in their native language such as Spanish or Italian.
I don't own Hazbin Hotel, Helluva Boss, or its characters, except for the OC's. I do have the movie "Quest for Camelot" which this tale is based on, don't know if that counts as owning the film.
Warning: May contain violence, foul language, and mature themes in this and/or future chapters
Song Choice: United We Stand
Enjoy!
Journey for Exlucero
Chapter 1: The Fall of a Chaos Knight
It was one bright crimson morning, a surprisingly calm and peaceful day one may add, despite living in the most chaotic place in existence. The demon gulls soared over the crashing waves besides the seaside which is located in the lower rings of Hell. It is in this area where a trio of unique demons appeared, riding on horseback as they travelled down the beach.
Riding in the lead on a crimson stallion with yellow flames was a young female bat demon about eight years old named Rebecca, preferably known as Reby. She was black skinned, with bat ears and wings, dark magenta hair, and unique heterochromic eyes with her left one being pink and right eye being red. At such a young age, she became adventurous, headstrong, brave, and sometimes reckless due to the fact that her dream is to become a knight like her parents before her.
Following behind was her father, Sir Dante, another bat demon with the same eye color as his daughter but he was white skinned. Dante is a Chaos Knight, one of the most loyal and bravest followers of Queen Charlotte Magne whom is the current ruler of Pridalot, the capital kingdom in the Pride Ring.
Finally, the last rider on a black stallion with icy blue flames is named Aurelia or Aura for short. Unlike the rest of them, she is a unique being known as a Unibo. Unibos are demon/angel hybrids that are extremely rare in Hell but gifted with unique powers and retractable patterned wings. She's about fifteen and looks like a fox demon with silver skin, bluish black hair, and green eyes in light blue sclera. Aura was adopted by Reby's parents when she appeared on their farm years ago and became a valued member of the family. She and Reby grew up as sisters and later accepted the role as mother figure after Reby's mother passed away when Reby was small.
"Careful, Reby! Keep slapping his rump like that and he'll end up bucking you," Aura warned her after seeing her urging her hellhorse to go faster.
"Come on, you guys!" Reby shouted back as the three of them passed their farm and went down the trail to the beach. They enjoyed every moment they spend together, especially on days where Sir Dante had to leave for Pridalot with the other knights such as today.
Once on the beach, they hopped down from their horses, letting them rest from the stroll. Reby wandered around as Sir Dante and Aura happily skipped rocks onto the sea.
"Hey! Look at me!" Reby called out to them. The other two turned to see her on top of a tree, stretching her wings. "Prendimi, padre!" She giggled before she leaped off, gliding into her father's arms. He catches her, laughing loudly before purposely falling down, causing them to tumble down into the soft sand.
Aura joins them soon after, chuckling. "Reby, you do know how to lighten up just about anything. Sure wish we could have fun together everyday. Just the three of us."
"We all do, my little volpe. But you two are not the only people I must protect. Being a knight means sacrifice. It's a huge responsibility and a great honor," Sir Dante explained.
"Papa, do you really have to go?" Reby pouted.
"I'm afraid I must, girls," her father said with a smile, not wanting to leave the girls on their own. "You know the Queen's knights will be here soon."
"Tell me again why you became a knight," Reby pleaded.
Aura rolled her eyes. "Reby, you've heard it a thousand times and so have I."
"Oh, but it's fine, Aura. Even you can't deny that you love this story too. So, what do you say, girls? Care to make this a thousand and one times?" Sir Dante grinned and chuckled when both girls sat closer to listen to their favorite story once again. "Well, my dear Rebecca, before you were born and before Aura joined our family, the land was deadly and treacherous. By that time, King Lucifer was our leader and demons stood divided by living in various clans. Imps with imps, Succubus with succubus, and so on and they rarely made any contact other than their kind. But soon, the population grew countless and many demons started invading other territories, stealing food, destroying properties, and even terminating one another. It became a war of brother fighting brother. Because of this, Heaven sent its angels onto us to control its overpopulation. Yet this solution resulted in carnage never seen before or since.
The only hope for peace was in the legend of the sword Exlucero. A powerful weapon with a dark blade, a crimson handle, and unimaginable power. It was a rare blessing sent by Heaven in order for Hell to bring control over its people. Legend tells that only a true heir could pull this magical sword from its stone and unite the people. Many tried, Imps, Goetia demons, and even King Lucifer himself did it once despite knowing he wasn't the chosen one, but in the end, all failed.
And then, on the very day that you were born, Reby, an unexpected hero came forth. It was none other than King Lucifer's daughter and princess of Hell, Princess Charlotte Magne. The demons believed her to be nothing more than a naive, cheerful, and soft princess with too much love for her people but no self control for her goals. And yet, she proved them all wrong the moment she succeeded in pulling out the sword right before their very eyes. It was that very kind heart for her people that proved her worthy of the sword.
With Exlucero at her side, she led us away from our darkest fate and into a better era with everyone connected. And once she took over the throne, we've build the greatest kingdom in Hell. Everyone rejoiced."
"Yes, and thus Pridalot was born and the Queen created the Chaos Knights!" Reby happily flew over them in a circle until she dropped from exhaustion.
Sir Dante showed the girls his shield which carried the symbol of an apple inside a flame surrounded by seven rings. "And so this seal represent the royal family and the rings represents the unity of all the rings of Hell. As a Knight, I took an oath to defend Pridalot, serve the Queen, and protect the sword."
They suddenly heard the sound of a horn, announcing the other knights' arrival. Reby flew up and caught sight of the Chaos Knights and their hellhorses. "The Knights are here, Papa!" She cried excitingly.
The family hopped back on their hellhorses and trailed up the path they came. "I must go now, girls. Her majesty had summoned her knights for a special day in Pridalot."
"What kind of day? Is it a party?" Reby asked.
"Whatever the Queen has in store, it's for the good of everyone," Sir Dante assured. "Now, girls, do your chores, respect your elders, and be good. I'll be back in a few days." He then shared one last hug with the girls. "Goodbye," he said as he galloped towards the group.
"I'm coming with you, Daddy!" Reby tried to catch up.
"Yes, when you're old enough, my batgirl. I will take you and Aura to Pridalot. I promise!" He promised before joining the other Chaos Knights. "I love you all!"
"We love you too!" Aura said with a wave.
Reby watched her father leave once her hellhorse had stopped. "One day, I'll be a knight. Like Papa."
"If you can dream it, you can do it. I know we'll go to the kingdom someday as a family," Aura hopefully said.
Soon enough, Sir Dante ran to the head of the knights, giving them the order to begin their journey. "Let's go!"
"Hell Yeah!" The knights cheered before galloping after him and thus, began their quest to Pridalot. It was a journey of various days even on horseback, trekking across dangerous territories yet the most dangerous is the vast Slaughter Forest, a place of untold and unmerciful danger. The path from Sir Dante's home to Pridalot meets a fork which on the left is the entry to that said forest while the right leads to Pridalot. It was obvious which path these knights took for they know better than to risk their lives to unnecessary danger.
After three days of traveling, they caught sight of Queen Charlotte's castle and the kingdom of Pridalot. As view of the kingdom grew bigger the closer they got, the knights cheerfully began singing their knightly song, reminding them of all they stand for.

Once the knights crossed the drawbridge into the castle grounds, they were greeted by all the demons who have gathered to welcome the Royal family's loyal champions. The people cheered as the knights arrived and each knight didn't deny to greet the people as well. Sir Dante continued on with a warm smile and when he passed the stables, he watched a young spider demon named Angel Dust practicing sword fighting with an iron staff against a makeshift practice dummy. He wore a makeshift helmet and shield as his pet pig demon, Fat Nuggets, watched. He happily waved to Sir Dante when he passed by him.
At the palace's door stood Queen Charlotte or Charlie, as her close friends call her, with her loyal council behind: Her bodyguard and also secret lover, Vagatha aka Vaggie, a moth demon; and her young advisor, Alastor the Radio deer demon. Alastor was trained by King Lucifer during his youth and both he and Vaggie earned their positions as soon as Charlotte inherited the throne. Queen Charlotte had ruled for almost a decade and since then, things couldn't be better. They all watched the cheering demons proudly as the knights walked in a single file towards Charlie with Sir Dante leading them.
The Chaos Knights followed her highness inside and headed towards the great hall where they held their meetings at the Pentagram table, thus earning their name: The Chaos Knights of the Pentagram. On their way, the knights failed to notice a mysterious dark figure hanging upside down on the roof. After the last knight passed by, this said figure silently glided down and followed the others with a smug grin. He was a bat demon like Sir Dante only with amber eyes, dark skin and blackish grey hair and goes by the name of Vittorio. Unlike the other knights, Vittorio had a selfish desire for glory and power and didn't believe in unity, fairness, and the ideals of the kingdom. He used to served the former King, but with Charlie as Queen, he believes that her kind ways are a joke to him.
Queen Charlie opened the huge doors leading to the meeting room where the large round table with a pentagram symbol stood. The Chaos knights entered proudly inside, singing joyfully in chorus, except for Vittorio who only clenched his claws.
Once each knight stood by their seats, Queen Charlie raised the legendary sword Exlucero into the air and the knights mimicked her actions. They sheathed their swords and one by one, each knight raised their shields into the air, crying out the virtues they stood for.
"Victory!"
"Sacrifice!"
"Courage!"
"Loyalty!"
"Pride!"
"Dignity!"
"Nobility!"
"Strength!"
"Valor!" Sir Dante declared proudly, glancing at a smiling Charlie next to her.

"ME!" Vittorio slams his shield down on the table hard, startling the other knights.
All the other knights glared at his rudeness. They know Vittorio's arrogance had worsen over the years, yet part of them hoped he'll improve. "Oh, speak of the devil," one fire demon muttered.
"Not again. I can't believe he's related to Dante," a Goetia knight agreed.
"Hope we don't hear any of his damn speeches where it's all about him, him, him," a shark demon added.
"He should have been kicked out years ago," a hellhound whispered to Sir Dante who sighed.
"He's my younger brother. As the elder, I have to set an example. It pains me to see him act this way which is why I never told my family about him."
"Charming celebration! If I wanted to be part of this shitty musical, I would have flown to Heaven! And it's been so long since our last meeting," Vittorio proclaimed as he sat down. "Now let's get down to business. I've waited forever for this day and it's about damn time! I thought Hell would freeze over before we see other again! So when will I get my new fucking territory?!"
"Sir Vittorio...Always thinking of yourself," Queen Charlotte shook her head. "As Chaos knights of the Pentagram, our obligation is to our fellow demons and realm, not to ourselves. Now, I believe the territories in the seven rings will be divided according to each demon's needs and nothing more."
Everyone agreed to the Queen, however, Sir Vittorio had other ideas. "Well, unfortunately, vostra altezza, I require more than everyone. My needs should be top priority instead of those patetici contadini."
"But why would you want more? You already have enough with some to spare," Charlie wondered. "We should all think of the poor and hungry."
"Bullshit! We are demons, not angels. You think everyone should be happy and kind and that Hell is full of nothing but singing and fucking rainbows!" Sir Vittorio argued. "It's time to realize that our royal Bitch has lost her ability to lead!"
"How dare you say that!" The Hellhound knight snarled.
"Yes, Queen Charlotte has proven herself to lead us well," A lizard demon hissed.
Sir Vittorio growled at the knights and then faced Sir Dante. "Brother, you of all people here know what I mean. Don't you believe we deserve more?"
"Fratello, in my heart, you are family, but this time, you are crossing the line here," Sir Dante said with a frown. "I have defended you of your actions before, but I won't tolerate any misbehavior in the Queen's presence!"
"Is that a challenge, brother?" He taunted.
"If you want it, then you bet it is!" Sir Dante glared, his eyes gleaming with anger.
Unbeknownst to the knights, a flat stone on the floor shifted until it was slightly slid off by a pair of hands. Peeking through the opened hole was Angel Dust who curiously snuck inside to see the meeting. Quietly, he listened to the bat brothers' argument.
"You know, Charlotte, I served your father for years and he was a legend. But you, well, let's be honest. You're nowhere nearly as great as he was. And the fact that everyone is dumb enough to let a female rule all of hell?" He scoffed. "I wouldn't have put up with you being Queen for all these years if I knew you cared so much for...worthless sinners.
Sir Dante angrily flaps his wings. "The Queen has decided! It is final!"
Sir Vittorio then stands up, flapping his own wings. "Then it's time for the new candidate. One worthy to rule and deserves the title of king, and I'm voting for yours truly."
"Step down, Vittorio! We may be equal in rank but in combat, I dominate it. That is my final warning," Sir Dante warned.
"That's soon to be King Vittorio. It has a nice ring to it," he boasted.
Queen Charlotte's eyes narrowed at her challenger, glowing in demon red while Sir Dante rose up angrily. "I will never serve a false king. No one ever will!"
"Then serve... A DEAD ONE!" Vittorio flew in a murderous rage and attempts to fly towards Charlotte with a blessed spiked bludgeon in his hand, only to be intercepted by the other knights.
The fire demon reaches him first with shield in hand and Vittorio kicks him away. Next came the Goetia knight, who was bitten on the arm and flung away. The hellhound knight tries to punch him but gets headbutted by Vittorio's head. Sir Dante immediately flew at his brother, hitting the wall and his fangs were on Vittorio's throat.
"Have you lost your goddamn mind?! You just decided to throw all that you learned so you can be an assassin?" Sir Dante growled.
"I'm just following my demon instincts. Every oath I've took, I've spitted out. The only thing I've wanted from this service is for them to teach me how to fight in order to bring bloodshed!" Vittorio admitted.
"YOU FOOL!" Dante flung him towards the opposite wall. He then charges towards him, but Vittorio kicks him away towards the floor.
"You've stood in my way for the last time!" Vittorio raised his weapon to deliver the fatal blow until he was suddenly shoved by Angel Dust, whom appeared from his hiding place. Dante gasped when the young demon saved him.
"Why don't you pick on somebody your own size?" Angel shouted.
"You? There's no way a brat like you can overthrow me!" Vittorio then grabs his shirt and threw the spider demon away. They fought away with swords, each clash of their blades bringing sparks out of them. The other knights wondered where did the young one came from but were impressed by his skills. But it didn't last long for Vittorio fought ruthlessly and managed to swat Angel's sword away. He shoves him to the floor and as Angel tried to reach for his staff, but Vittorio to stomp on it, snapping it in two. "You are decades too young to fight against me. You think you're a knight, kid? Then I'll give you a knight's death!" Vittorio declared, preparing to strike his bludgeon at Angel.
Just then, Sir Dante charges forward with shield in hand, putting himself in front of Angel as his brother struck him right in the head, blood splattering out from the side of his skull. The force also managed to hit the shield's edge, bending it.
Everyone gasped as they saw their fellow comrade being struck down by Vitorrio as he tumbled on the ground.
"NO!" Angel shouted in horror. He didn't noticed Vittorio coming towards him for the finishing blow.
Sir Dante, despite his wounds, didn't hesitate to throw himself at Vittorio to protect Angel. He flew towards his brother, but Vittorio retaliated by picking up a couple of swords and pierces his back, mortally wounding him.
"AAAHHHH!" Sir Dante yelled in pain as Vittorio sneered at his agony. Horrified at the scene, Angel angrily went after him.
"Don't!" Sir Dante shouted, despite the pain. Angel halted. "Don't come over here! In this world, there are more important things than my life. Resist it! Please, resist it! You still have a tomorrow and for that tomorrow, keep your own life safe!"
"Such famous last words, brother!" Vittorio taunted as he opened his fangs and attempts to finish the job. "Time to give you an early and permanent retirement!"
Angel, furiously took out his knife, and shouted angrily. "Damn you, Vittorio!" He quickly dashes forward and pushed the black bat demon, releasing Dante as he landed in a bloody limp. Dante struggled to help, only for him to succumb to his wounds. "Now it's my turn!" With his weapon in hand, he swiped at his opened mouth, cutting Vittorio's fangs off.
"My fangs!" Vittorio became horrified, feeling the stubbed edges of his fangs as well as blood flowing from them. Angel readied himself once more and all Vittorio could see is red. "You fucking vermin! I'LL SKIN YOU ALIVE!"
"LEAVE HIM ALONE!" Charlie yelled, making him halt his attack. "QUICK, KID, RUN!"
Angel hesitated, but knowing the Queen can handle it, dropped his weapon and ran off.
Vittorio then turns to Queen Charlotte again, who acted quickly and grabbed Exlucero from its sheath attached to the seat. "You're mine, princess!" Vittorio growls in anger and flies at her, roaring in rage. He didn't noticed the sword powering up and before he could strike, Queen Charlotte swiftly slashes across his face. When the mace made contact with Exlucero, the sword's magic reflected, creating a powerful burst that sends Vitorrio flying away from the table and crashed on the floor. The sword powered down as Queen Charlotte glared at the fallen bat demon.
Vittorio tried to reach for the mace, only for the mace to be destroyed by a shadow tentacle. He looked up and saw Alastor's gleaming red eyes and Vaggie holding her spear, waiting to strike. Charlie's attack blinded his right eye, leaving a scar in his face and the magic burst injured his right arm. With the sustained injuries, he looked like a battered beast.
"Vittorio, you are hereby out of the Chaos Knights order and forever banished from my kingdom! The penalty for your return would be certain death. Leave and never return!" Queen Charlotte declared.
Realizing he was no match for Exlucero, especially in her hands, Vittorio decided to take this opportunity to escape. He stood up, holding his arm in pain and glares at the Queen. "You cannot be Queen forever. Mark my words, bitch. One day, the sword will be in my hand..." he swore before flying off... "and ALL WILL BE MINE!"
The other demons threw their lances, swords, and fired their powers at him, only for them to miss the bat demon as he vanished from view.
"Charlie! Are you alright?" Vaggie worriedly ran towards the Queen, checking for injuries. "Did that hijo de perra hurt you?"
Alastor checked the queen. "She doesn't seem to be hurt."
"I'm fine, you guys. I admit I was scared, but Exlucero protected me, as did all my loyal knights," Charlie reassured.
"Sir Dante!" One knight alerted the others when they saw the still bat demon on the floor with a pool of black blood forming from his injuries. They all began to surround their fallen comrade, checking his status.
"Is he alright?" The Goetia demon wondered.
"Sir Dante..." Charlie peered over to see her fallen friend. Dante wasn't moving, his eyes remained closed, and no sound or breath escaped from his mouth. After checking, all the Queen could do is shake her head, making everyone gasp and lower their heads solemnly, for their friend is now dead.
The brave Sir Dante has served his role and with his life, he had protected his comrades.
Hidden away from the group, Angel heard of Sir Dante's death and tears fell down his face. With a broken heart, he ran away with sobbing cries.
Hope you like it!
