Jeanette's POV
It was getting dark by the time Bambi, Thumper, and I had left the flower field and returned to the area where Bambi's thicket was. Suddenly, the sound of thunder could be heard in the sky. Thumper looked at us with concern and said, "I think I'd better go home now."
"Okay, Thumper," I said to him, "Be safe now!"
Bambi and I kept walking away some more until another sound of thunder was heard; this scared him as he ran off towards his mother, who was standing nearby. "It's alright, Bambi," Willow kindly assured him, "It's just part of life."
"Of course," I said to him as I caught up, "These things happen quite a bit, especially after hot days."
"Come, Jeanette," Willow said to me, "We should get home. We'll be safe and dry in the thicket."
A few minutes later, Willow, Bambi, and I were all nestled up inside the thicket. Willow went right to sleep as Bambi and I both yawned. I nestled close to the doe's side, while Bambi tried getting to sleep.
Third Person POV
Bambi couldn't get to sleep, because something caught his attention. It was a set of raindrops falling from the sky and landing on some leaves. Bambi watched with curiosity before one of the drops landed on his nose, but that didn't stop him from being amazed. All those drops seemed to be making a melody as they grew in numbers and dropped from the sky like little wet pebbles.
It wasn't long before everything outside was experiencing a little rain outside the thicket.

All throughout the forest, the little animals ran to find shelter as the rain fell from the sky, and the creatures used whatever they could find to make do for protection from getting wet.

A mother bird flew over to her nest and protected her soaking wet chicks by gently nestling over them as the rain fell. One of the chicks peeked its head out from under its mother's wing, and felt a drop fall onto its head, making it go back under the mother.

A little wood mouse scurried along the rainy atmosphere as it tried to find a place to shelter from the rain. It tried several mushrooms, but none of them were exactly what the mouse had in mind. Soon, the little rodent saw a mother pheasant running as her chicks stayed under her wings and tail to keep dry. The mouse ran underneath the pheasant's tail until it found its proper home – a little nest made from twigs and other things.

Over at a little pond, some ducks paddled off into some reeds to keep dry.
Back in the thicket, Bambi was still trying to get to sleep as the rain kept on falling down. Willow and Jeanette also woke up to make him less afraid. "It's alright, Bambi," Jeanette softly told the fawn, "It'll pass soon enough."
Bambi then fell asleep as Willow and Jeanette both looked up at the sky. Suddenly, without warning, lightning flashed right up in the air!
The flash of the lightning made Bambi wake up with a frightful start. The fawn looked around with fear before another bolt of lightning flashed, causing Bambi to hide his face into his mother's side.
"Bambi, it's okay," Jeanette quietly assured the fawn, "Thunderstorms don't last very long. From the place where I'm originally from, they happen almost all the time in the spring and summertime on hot days!"
Back outside the thicket, lightning flashed everywhere among the trees, flowers, and landscapes. One flash of lightning woke up Friend Owl, making his eyes bulge and his head spike up in surprise! But the old owl just frowned and turned around in his tree hole before going back to sleep.
In the thicket, Bambi was still scared of the lightning, but Willow and Jeanette both stayed at his side to ease his fears.
In the meantime, Thumper and his family were watching the storm from their burrow, and all the rabbits' ears perked up when another bolt of lightning flashed!
The rain kept falling, and the lightning bolts kept on flashing all around the forest. This lasted all through the night until the clouds subsided and the crack of dawn arrived in the sky. As the last of the raindrops fell, the bluebirds woke up and began singing little songs as they fluffed their wings dry, and then flew off.
In the thicket, Bambi and Jeanette were both sound asleep as Willow looked around and saw that the storm had stopped, and dawn was approaching. The mother doe affectionately kissed her son with her tongue, and then decided to sleep in with him and Jeanette.
The last drops of rain fell from the leaves, and then disappeared into puddles on the ground.
