Bambi's POV
Jeanette and I walked with my father back into the snowy forest. We soon trudged our way through very deep snow; my father had no trouble walking on top of the snow, but Jeanette and I both got buried beneath. But luckily, we both managed to get out of the snow drift and shake off our snow – except I got some snow stuck to one of my hind legs! I tried shaking it off, but it wouldn't budge.
"Allow me!" Jeanette said as she tried knocking the snow off. When it disappeared, we saw Thumper clinging onto my leg!
I looked down and cried with glee, "Thumper!"
"What are you doing on Bambi's leg?" Jeanette asked him.
"Bambi! Jeanette!" Thumper said with a grin as he got off of my leg, "Boy, am I glad to see you guys!"
Thumper looked around with a worried look, and I asked him, "What's wrong?"
"Are you okay, Thumper?" Jeanette asked.
"They've been after me all morning!" Thumper said with fear.
"Who has?" I asked as I looked down at him.
Jeanette guessed, "Are they…"
"Oh, big brother!" some young girl voices called from not too far away.
"It's them!" Thumper cried as he grabbed onto my tail and pulled me to the ground. I sat in the snow while the gray bunny hid in the deep snow.
Jeanette's POV
When Thumper told me that "they" were after him, I almost guessed hunting dogs. But after I heard those voices, I knew in an instant that it had to be some young female animals. "Thumper, you wanna tell me what's going on?" I asked out loud.
Just then, giggling could be heard as Bambi and I looked straight on. Bursting through the snow came four of Thumper's cream-colored younger sisters, giggling to find their brother. They looked at me and Bambi, and greeted us as they stopped, "Hello, young prince!"
"Hello, Jeanette!"
"Oh, hello," Bambi said with a smile.
"Hi," I said with a nervous wave.
"Have you seen Thumper around?" the youngest sister asked.
Bambi looked around and lied as he shook his head, "Uh-uh!"
"Uh, I… I haven't seen him, either!" I lied with a nervous grin, trying to hide my canines.
Just then, one of the sisters saw something and whispered to her fellow sisters. I turned and saw a familiar fluffball shaking behind Bambi, and then I gulped nervously. The cream-colored rabbits all giggled, and one of them said slyly, "Okay, I guess we'll be leaving, then!"
Then, the sisters all crept to where Bambi and I were sitting, and then gave Thumper a little tap on his tail, startling him. The gray bunny jumped and frowned, while his sisters and I all giggled.
"Mama says you're gonna take us to see the groundhog!" the youngest sister said to Thumper.
"What she says, goes!" another sister said.
"Well, she's not the boss of me!" Thumper grumbled as he stepped back.
"Now, Thumper!" I said to him sternly, "Your mother knows best, and I think your sisters have been itching to see this groundhog."
"No, Jeanette!" he shot at me, "If I don't want to, Mama can't make me!" He crossed his arms, but then he heard the sound of light thumping in the snow.
Thumper turned around and saw his mother looking at him with her arms crossed, and a stern look on her face. "The fox is right, Thumper!" the mother rabbit said.
"Uh, hi, Mama," Thumper said nervously.
"What did your father tell you?" his mother asked him.
"About what?" Thumper said with shame.
"About playing with your sisters!" the mother said.
"Oh, that one," the gray bunny said as he faced his mother, "A family that plays together… stays together!"
"And a family means that nobody gets left behind, or forgotten!" I added with a grin, remembering another Disney movie about a human girl and her alien friend.
Thumper crossed his arms and muttered as he looked at his sisters, "Even if it means taking your dumb sisters!"
"I heard that!" I snarled under my breath.
All the cream-colored sisters giggled at their brother.
"Bambi! Jeanette!" A familiar voice called.
Third Person POV
Bambi and Jeanette turned around and saw the Great Prince looking down at them from the top of a small hill with a stern look on his face. "Oh, my apologies!" Jeanette called to him. She turned to the bunnies and said, "Sorry, guys, I, uh… promised the Great Prince that I'd help Bambi prepare for when his time comes!" The girl-turned fox nervously giggled and then ran towards the Great Prince. "Come on, Bambi!" she called to the fawn.
"Uh, coming!" Bambi called to his father and Jeanette. He looked at his rabbit friends and said, "I gotta go!"
As Bambi hopped away, Thumper pleaded, "But you can't go! You can't leave me with the girls!"
"Come on, Thumper!" the rabbit sisters begged their brother as they gently pushed him along, "You gotta take us to see the groundhog!"
Bambi and Jeanette looked up at the Great Prince, who just cleared his throat before walking away. He walked up a snowy hill as Bambi and Jeanette followed him. The girl-turned fox managed to climb up with ease like the big stag, but Bambi kept slipping and sliding until he landed at the bottom of the hill again. The Great Prince and Jeanette looked back, and the fawn still had some struggle getting back up the hill.
"Hang on, Bambi!" Jeanette called as she leaped after him, "I'll help you!"
The Great Prince just turned forward and prepared to continue up the hill, but he saw that it would be too steep for a little fawn and a fox. He sighed and said to the friends as he walked towards them, "Why don't you two go with your friends to see the groundhog?"
"Us?" Bambi asked, "But I wanna stay with you."
"Bambi, I think your father believes this hill is too steep for you," Jeanette told him.
"Yes, well," the Great Prince began. He was lost for words before he sighed, "I have to check on the south meadow, and it's very far. You and Jeanette should go see the groundhog. I'll meet you two there later."
"Oh, okay," Bambi said with disappointment, "We'll meet ya."
The Great Prince walked back up the hill as Jeanette smiled to Bambi, "Come on, Bambi! You're still a fawn. Besides, you're only young once!"
Bambi thought for a moment, and decided that seeing the groundhog with his friends would be best. "Hey, Thumper!" he called as he and Jeanette slid back to the lower ground, "Wait for us!"
"We're gonna see that groundhog, too!" Jeanette called as she followed Bambi through the snowy woods.
