"You recognized my rack, didn't you?" She gestured to her sizable bosom. She wasn't some wispy stick figure like Darby: She was compact, but had thick curves from working out and her mom's genetics. With strong, well formed legs.
"Well... not just that," Clark said flushing a bit. "I mean, yes they are a veritable landmark," he flattered her, getting a blush in return, "but I recognized your... whole geography."
Leslie grinned widely, scoring him a point for their flirting and another one for noticing more than just her breasts. She briefly considered asking if he'd like to go on a walking tour of her local areas... but they hadn't even gone on a proper date yet and she didn't want to scare him off by coming on too strong. She slid her arm through his and they joined the stream of fans circulating among the booths.
"So why did you pick Sailor Jupiter?" Clark asked curiously.
"Do you know the series?" she asked. "Most guys wouldn't admit to having read it."
"It was part of the Saturday cartoon lineup when I was a kid and I had the choice between it and GI Joe," Clark replied.
"And you chose Sailor Moon?" she asked in disbelief.
"I could never get over how bad everyone's aim was," he replied with a shrug. "Soldiers and Terrorists who train constantly yet can't hit the broadside of a barn," he explained. "At least in Sailor Moon when they shot at something they occasionally hit it."
Leslie giggled. "Well, I liked the character. Makoto was an orphan who lived on her own and fought demons, what's not to like?"
"I thought her name was Lita?" Clark replied confused.
Leslie winced. "I'm going to have to educate you on the true Sailor Moon and not that horrible dub," she said firmly.
"The character even fits your profession," he joked.
"Shock jock... Oh," she said with a giggle, "I suppose it does."
"Think fast!" someone called out and tossed a small plastic sphere between them.
Clark automatically reached out and grabbed it, scanning it with his X-ray vision to insure it wasn't dangerous as the ball lit up and made a beeping noise.
"That should have shocked you," a teen girl dressed as Hermione Granger said.
"Maybe the batteries are dead," Leslie said, taking it from Clark to examine it herself.
It only took a second for her to recognize it as a 'hot potato' one of the latest toys released by Lex Corp. Before she could hand it back it lit up and beeped once more.
"Yeah, I think it's just low on charge," she said, passing it back to the girl and her friends, several small blue dots on her palm fading away.
"Is there really that big a difference between the American and Japanese version of the show?" Clark asked as they continued on.
A teen cursed behind them as the ball lit up unnoticed by the pair.
"Quite a bit," Leslie assured him. "If you've got some time this weekend I could show you."
"That sounds like fun," he agreed with a smile.
AN: I always felt there should have been some sign of a meta's potential, well in advance of them becoming active.
