Lois Lane woke up, once again, to the smell of breakfast cooking. She closed her eyes and groaned softly, before she slowly sat up. She trudged out of bed, feeling like a prisoner off to her execution. She pulled on her robe with another groan. She then opened the door to her main living area, where someone was cooking in the kitchen. Lois closed her eyes and groaned again, louder.
"Willis," she exhaled, "again?"
Leslie beamed at her, flipping a pancake on the griddle.
"Hey! I got nostalgic for all the times I used to break into your dormroom," she said happily. "Though it's kind of ridiculously easy now with my powers, it's still fun!"
Lois sighed. She shot a baleful glare over at Clark, who was sitting on her couch typing on his laptop. She could feel his 'ah shucks' smile from here.
"And you, Smallville?" She growled. Kent shrugged.
"Leslie insisted," he replied. He turned and smiled at her over his shoulder. "Besides, you're so sunny first thing in the morning."
"Why are you two continuing to break into my apartment?" Lois asked, rubbing her temples. Leslie zipped up next to her, and beamed. She slid a cup of coffee into Lois's hands, which the brunette took without looking.
"Because you're my friend," she said earnestly. "Do I need another reason?"
"Just because you now have superpowers doesn't mean you have to pull that corny shonen hero bullshit with me," Lois grumbled. Leslie hugged her, and Lois sighed. The electric woman's smile grew.
"Come on! I'm trying to be more social in the wake of a huge change to my life!" Leslie insisted. She grinned, "plus, you're cute when you're annoyed."
"I am not cute," Lois growled. The doorbell rang, and she winced, "now what?"
"I'll get it!" Leslie said cheerfully, and in a flash like a strobe light she was right at the door. Lois shot a long suffering look over at Clark.
"How do you put up with her?" Lois groused. Clark blushed slightly, and adjusted his glasses.
"You don't really want me to answer that, do you?" Clark asked. Lois snorted.
"Guess she gets you out of your special underwear and doesn't leave enough room for the Holy Ghost, huh?"
Clark chuckled.
"I'm from Kansas, not Utah," he pointed out. He smiled at her.
"Besides, underneath all your irritation," Clark said, "you're glad to have her as a friend again. And she's glad too."
Lois flushed slightly. She glared at him.
"Maybe I'm just putting on the tsundere act because I'm terrified of her snapping and killing us all," she pointed out. Clark chuckled.
"Yeah, keep telling yourself that Lane," he said, drinking his coffee. Lois sipped her own coffee. Goddamnit, it was just the way she liked it.
"Why's she in such a good mood today anyway?" Lois asked, taking another sip of her coffee, "can't just be to annoy me-She can do that every day now."
"Hey pumpkin!"
Lois's eyes widened. She turned around and choked on her coffee. Her father was standing there with a big smile, his arm around Leslie's shoulders.
"D-Daddy?!" She gasped. General Samuel Lane nodded.
"I was in town and decided to drop by," he said. "It's great to see you and Leslie again after all this time."
"Aw shucks General, it's great to see you too!" Leslie gushed. Lois' father beamed.
"That reaming you gave Hardcastle was spectacular," he said. "Said everything I've always wanted to say to that stuck up, brown nosing blowhard."
"Eh, it's easier when you don't have to be polite," Leslie replied with a shrug. She flitted back to the kitchen in a flourish. "Have a seat! I'm making pancakes! Oh, that's my boyfriend Clark!"
"Hello General," Clark said with a smile, standing up. Lane smiled back and shook his hand.
"Please, call me Sam," he said, "any friend of Leslie and my daughter is a friend of mine."
"We're not friends, we're work colleagues," Lois insisted. "They broke into my apartment! Again!"
"Just like old times," Sam laughed. Lois groaned and covered her face.
Where was Superman when you really needed him?
Hope you liked this bit of fun.
