Chapter 11

She didn't like the fact that she cried in front of Leah…

It was one thing if it was Rachel or Rob, but Leah was different. They were almost long lost sisters, and to the point that they would protect each other or help to make the other happy. She was studying for the next test till she heard her phone buzz…

What time would it be?

She gulped, and looked at the door to see it was closed. A way to at least tell Rachel that she was studying besides music…

It'll be around 6. Though I wanted Leah to be there.

Your friend who messaged me?

This caused her to pause a bit. What? She knew that Leah didn't have his number. Even more so when she had to hide it by sending Leah funny pictures and also to the other theater guys to make sure they got their stuff ready…

Unless…

I guess she used my phone to message you. Sorry about that. She's protective over me.

She gulped as she looked through past messages. Of course she would delete the messages. If it was one thing with Leah, she wouldn't tell her unless she realized she made a mistake causing her to fix it…

It's alright Bell. I understand. I'm glad that you have someone that looks out for you.

This cause her to sigh in relief. She knew that Leah can be a handful at times. More so when it involves with someone was trying to hurt her or use her. While she was grateful for it, it at times can be too much.

I still don't understand why you want me to bring my clothes and leave my phone behind. It's not like they are going to look for me.

It's just a per-caution. We don't know what can happen.

This confused her a bit. What can happen?

She knew that a park was lit up when it was getting dark. Along with her knowing that Leah would be with her during that meeting. She gulped and she text up another message.

It's not like there are murderers, or some kidnappers. Besides, my friend would be with me.

She noticed on that, it was on read but he didn't reply. She had a feeling that might put a kink to it, but she trusted Leah more. She knew she couldn't go to Rachel with this. Knowing that she'll try to either put a stop to it or try to talk to him. She had experienced with other guys in this. It wasn't like he was into her…

Right?

Still. I would rather be safer. You can't be so sure on area around you, or to the people around you. After all, you know that first hand when they had lied to you my Bell.

She this caused her to tense up. She knew that…

Even more so when she had look into it to see that what he was saying wat true. She wasn't mentioned in past pictures or videos with her parents. Even to the point that she would try to find some of her mom's public image to see that she wasn't mentioned. Only mentioned that she was married…

Can I at least bring one thing that calms me down? I know they're not really my family, but it was made by my grandma. I was close to her, and she would always stand up for me when I start to get a bit nervous.

She knew this was too much, even more so when she wasn't part family, but she loved her grandmother. That grandmother had been there for her, and would even stand up for her when she and Rachel would fight. It was like as if she didn't care if she was either acting that she was one. She was one to her…

Very well. Though make sure at least it's not in the bag.

I won't. It's too big to be in it anyways.

She smiled a bit at this, and looked at the scarf she had. While she only wore it at times, she loved it. It was like she was being hugged by her. Plus it'll be perfect. It was starting to snow, and she knew that most of her clothing didn't help with the neck area.

All she needed to do was rest and get ready for it all.

Excitement…

That's all he felt. He knew that others would see him as calm, but he was able to see his Mary back. His bell that would be the calming part of the group. Even to Diva, that he knew that she wouldn't like that she lost her memory, who would instantly try to help her remember some of her memories.

What did worry him though was due to seeing signs of the Chiropterans about. While he knew that being here might bring them, but they shouldn't had arrived this quickly…

"Nathan. Have you-"

"I have. I so far had put some layouts to make sure they don't come nearby the school." Solomon was glad at least he didn't need to see anyone. At least till that night. "Diva's singing normally brings them here so why-"

"Our Queen has been distant more." This caused him to tense up. "What?"

"She's doing her work, but then seems to either hear something or walk off." Warning bells were going off. Mary was never like that. Only time she was like that was when they were about.

"For how long?"

"About a week. Before it was off and on, but it's been more constant." He looked at the time. If only he could just make time go faster…

"Has she been trying to find the source?"

"In a way she has. Though seems that our Queen knows to not fully follow it." He narrowed his eyes a bit at this. While he knew that this was risky, he didn't expect they would show up. "There aren't any reports of people going missing, or of blood loss."

"Still, it'll be a bit worrying. If she's acting off then-"

"They're around… I know. So far they seem to stay away from the school grounds, but if they are about-"

"They might be already sensing her. With the state that she is in currently, she would be in danger by them." And more so when Mary seemed too human for her good. Along with just her not remembering her past might also affect what she could do with them. "Well, keep that girl safe. We don't need her to be dragged into this. I'll make sure Mary is safe."

"I will. I'll need to do some extra per-cautions, but I'm sure those would be easy to find."

Mary couldn't sleep. She didn't know it was due to her being anxious, or it was her finally getting answers. Answers that she had been wanting ever since she started to dream about that damn nightmare.

She soon sat up, and went to see that Rachel's door was closed. She knew Rob was fully passed out, after the day was just filled with them going to the festival. At least after they somewhat dragged her out of her room, but she knew she had to pretend that she needed to pass this test. Even if the test was nonexistent at this point.

She went to grab her book and headphones so that she could read in peace. Once she sat down, she made sure that the window was open enough to let the air go through. She made sure one earbud stayed in while the other was out so that she could just be sure to tell her uncle that she was fine. Though she stopped when she could have sworn she heard something…

It didn't sound like Rachel, or Rob…

It sounded like a woman singing. She put the book down, and went closer to the window.

It sounded close… So close that the woman might be right under her, but she wasn't… She looked to just hear the song. She could feel her heart being pulled, but also feel like as if she was lonely. So fucking lonely…

Just like her…

She was about to scream to see if she could get the girls attention till she heard her phone ring. She wiped her tears, and answered it.

"Hey May. You're alright? I heard you're crying."

"I'm…" Oh god she was… When did she start to cry? She wiped her tears.

"I'm fine. Just reading a book and it's getting to me."

"Alright. Just make sure to go to bed on time alright?"

"I will don't worry."

"Well, have a good sleep, and love you." She gulped, and bit her lip. "Love you too dad." She hung up, and wiped her tears more. Why does this song affect her so much?
