My Hero Academia USA Sara Gaiden

Sara Yarkud

Sara zipped down the steps of her house two times as the smell of her mom's cooking made her stomach rumble and mouth began to water

She nearly used her quirk to get to the kitchen at the cost of whatever valuables she'd drop on the way

"No running in the house Sara," her mother lightly scolded from her place at the stove the smell of eggs, beef and cheese sizzling were making her stomach sound like the T-Rex from Jurassic Park

"Yes mom" Sara said going to grab the juice placing it on the table. Sara smiled seeing her mom had set out a plate an cheese omelet with beef sausage on the side Sara licked her lips sitting down

"Bismilah" she said thanking Allah for the food before digging in to her breakfast

While she was eating her dad walked in rubbing his temples muttering as he sat down Sara looked up from her breakfast

"Everything ok at the store dad"

Her family ran a shoe store in the Atlantic Terminal Mall and her dad took a lot of pride in everything being ship shape and on schedule

Dad looked up running his hands through his thinning blue hair the same color as Sara's before reaching out for his mug taking a sip from his coffee

"It's fine sweetheart our latest shipment of Nomad shoes has been delayed to this afternoon" he explained "thanks to the driver who doesn't know how to use a GPS" the last part her dad mumbled

Sara rolled her eyes

"Look on the the bright side Dad Nomad merchandise sells faster as you can put it on the shelf" even though Nomad was no longer the number one hero anymore he still had a massive fanbase and Nomad merchandise sold like hotcackes 'mmm hotcakes great now I'm even more hungry'

And in Saras opinion Nomad was way better then that glory hound Captain Celebrity everyone seemed to like for some reason. Nomad was way cooler

Mom walked over with a plate and set it down before kissing him on the cheek

"Just think Hassan soon you might be selling shoes with your daughters logo on them"

Dad shrugged

"That might happen god willing" he said "who knows maybe your brother will design the logo"

Sara couldn't help but laugh at the idea "who else would I use" Before she could think of merchandise with her logo she had to make it through the entrance exam and actually get into the hero course

Sara and her family kept eating for a bit longer before Sara had to go so she didn't end up being late

She didn't want to miss her train The room around her blurred She put her plate in the sink before zipping between her parents kissing them on the cheek

Sara Yarkud

Quirk Sprint

Sara can triple her natural running speed overuse can tire her out

"Sara no quirk use in the house" Her mom scolded lightly

"Good luck today Sara we're all rooting for you" dad told her

Sara smiled grabbing her backpack "bye love you" she said to her parents

"Love you too" they said back before Sara closed the door leaping down the steps onto the sidewalk Sara headed down the sidewalk towards the subway station on her way she saw the colonel taking out the garbage dressed in his button up shirt and slacks

"Morning Colonel" The Colonel hadn't been in active service since Korea but Sara had known him as the colonel since she was little

The Colonel put down the trash can looking to Sara wiping the sweat from his wrinkled head. "Morning lass todays the day isn't it"

Sara nodded

"Yes sir I'm heading to the school now"

The Colonel nodded

"Good girl, make sure you keep a cool head and remember your training stand lightly on your feet and keep your arms up protect the face and chest" He instructed sounding like a drill sergeant

Sara nodded

For the past few months the Colonel had been teaching her taekwondo after he had seen her trying to teach herself how to fight by herself

With bad bordering on terrible results according to the Colonel a recruit fresh out of basic training could beat her Sara had told him that he probably couldn't do any better and got proven wrong when the colonel left coming back with a board breaking it with one kick

"Better get going lass" the Colonel said after checking his watch "it'd be pretty embarrassing for a speedster to miss their test"

Oh right the exam

"Thanks Colonel got to go" Sara said quickly before running off to the subway she had to get to Hamilton and fast.

Today was the day

Ember Cole

Ember sat in the back seat of her uncle's car taking in the sights of New York city if Ember was being completely honest, it didn't look too different from Pittsburg well there was one big difference

New York didn't have her Uncle Clay and Aunt Mari

Her uncle's car stopped at a red light

Looking up she saw on a giant flatscreen live news coverage of a villain who looked like a mutant crocodile fighting with two heroes Ember recognized them from their black hair and the red and blue bodysuits they were wearing. The Sanorini brothers Frost and Flare

Flare leapt back dodging the villains massive tail flying high above the street by shooting fire out of his hands. The crocodile villain growled, scales on his body shot up before firing at Flare

A wall of ice from Frost protected his brother Flare leapt over the ice wall fire coating his fist as he punched the ground a circle of fire surrounded the villain it kinda reminded Ember of a super move she had been working on to trap villains Flame Prison

Was that name too on the nose would the bad guys be able to figure out

No it was fine

Ember was pulled out of her thoughts by the light changing and the car moving again.

"Are you nervous Em" Her Aunt Mari asked from the passenger seat "I know I'd be in your shoes"

Ember shook her head "No I'm fine Auntie"

Ember was anything but nervous about the exam

Well if it was what she was hoping it was

She could handle whatever physical challenge the school could throw at her

As long as she was alone that is and she didn't have to work with another examinee that wasn't something she'd prepared for

"Don't worry Mari our Ember can handle whatever Hamilton has in store for her" her uncle Clay said looking back at her in the rearview mirror a proud grin on his face as if she was his actual daughter instead of just his niece

A small smile on Embers face she moved a strand of her brown hair out of her face "thanks uncle Clay"

Uncle Clay and Aunt Mari continued to smile looking at the sights of New York before they stopped at the entrance to the academy Ember looked at the school with wide eyes

Even from street level massive brownstone mansion like the pictures she'd seen of Harvard or Yale with ivy growing on the side of the building it looked like an old building one that had stood hundreds of years and had always been a part of the city

Ember stepped out of the car heading towards the marble steps turning around she waved to her aunt and uncle before climbing the steps

With every step she took she was getting closer to her goal to being the hero that she wanted to be

Ember reached the top of the steps stepping into a quad with a marble statue of Alexander Hamilton

Ember walked over to it there was a quote inscribed at the base of the statue

The pains taken to preserve peace include a proportional responsibility that equal pains be taken to be prepared for war
-Alexander Hamilton

Reading the quote Ember was briefly dragged into her thoughts like she was being pulled underwater

NO

Ember shook her head eyes glowing fire flashing across her fingers she shook her head taking in a deep breath letting it out slowly

"I will be the hero I want to be" Ember swore heading towards the main building

Today's the day she started to be a hero

Jack The Ripper

Jack tapped his fingers against the desk waiting for the orientation for the second part of the test to begin

The written test had on his desk been finished for almost ten minutes

There were a few questions that had almost stumped him but he felt like he got most of them right or at least enough of them right to get a passing grade

While Jack was waiting a few examines looked at him when they thought he wasn't looking but Jack knew they were looking at him

"Dude check that guy out he looks like a villain" one kid whispered

"You'd think Hamilton high wouldn't let guys like him in" his friend added Jack grunted annoyed

To Jack this was nothing new plenty of people were prejudiced against heteromorphs or people with villainous quirks

Something Jack had both of from kids his own age and from teachers who were either terrible liars or didn't care what people think of

He' been born with his mother's red eyes with spirals that made eye contact with her uncomfortable Jack also got his dad's black hair that looked better long curved dorsal fins on his arms that looked like they could cut a tree growing out from his wrists up to his elbows. He adjusted his black face mask over his nose so people wouldn't flinch at his pointed teeth

Jack knew what he looked like he didn't need the reminder of it

'Hope the exam starts soon'

Which is why Jack was surprised by the sound of a chair sliding out and someone sitting down in it

Jack turned to see a tiny little Asian girl sitting down with red hair in a tube top and a skirt the color of vanilla ice cream She sat down facing towards the front of the room, with little silver skull earrings shining in her earlobes and black nail polish

The girl yawned tiredly but didn't even look at Jack. Did she not see him

"HELOOOOO HAMILTON HIGH" a loud voice boomed getting everyone's attention Jack looked to see a stocky African American man with concrete colored hair and gold eyes surrounded by laugh lines towering over the podium. He wore a blue sleeveless with white lines wrapping around his shoulders white gloves on his hand

Jack knew who he was The Elevating Hero Highrise. He was a staple of the New York hero community since before Jack was born even after he started teaching here at Hamilton. The man was still a big name especially in his home borough Manhattan

"Man it always warms my heart to see so many young men and women who want to use their quirks to help people" Highrise said looking out at the crowd "now I'm told that there are five hundred hero hopefuls looking to get into our hero class this year" Highrise smiled "that is OUTSTANDING"

Highrise pushed a button on the podium and the wall turned into electronic screen

"Now that you've finished the written exam and no doubt want to get started on the physical portion" Highrise turned to the building

"Now we'll be driving you out to our training facility out of the city there you'll go in and try to either capture or defeat these training robots"

Robots Jack grinned underneath his mask

Oh that was great with his quirk Jack wouldn't have any problem taking down robots

Three different silhouettes of robots appeared in the screen each with a number next to it

"Depending on the robot you take down you'll be given a score and for those without offensive minded quirks, not to worry minimal pressure to the chest plate and the robots will shut down and you will receive the points you will have ten minutes and may use your quirk to its full potential however you may not attack another student anyone caught doing so will be immediately disqualified from the exam"

Highrise said the last part sternly making Jack wonder how many times someone attacked another examine just for some points

"Now the buses will be outside the front gate and remember give it your all and do the best you can" Highrise said as students began to head out towards the main gate Like before plenty of students were giving him space some giving him suspicious looks

Surprisingly the girl from before started walking next to him

"Ohayo" she said with a small smile confusing Jack

Figuring her name was Ohio he did his best to be courteous. "Jack" he said a bit shyly trying to be nice. Pretty weird name there

Not that Jack could say anything when his full legal name was Jack The Ripper thanks to his parents morbid sense of humor "Ohio that's an interesting name" he commented

Ohio blinked at him weirdly before she started giggling "no no you misunderstand I meant to say "hi" instead of Ohayo I put my shoe in my mouth there speaking in Japanese instead of English" she said with an accent to her english "I'm Kiri Takei"

Oh so she actually was Asian that was interesting he didn't know Hamilton had a foreign exchange program

Now it was Jacks turn to say something to Ohi- Kiri, "I think you mean foot in your mouth"

"But you can't put your foot in your mouth it's not anatomically possible" Yuri said looking puzzled "shoe makes more sense"

Jack thought about it he supposed it did make more sense "yeah you might be right" he told her as the two walked into the bus that would take them to the facility.

Jack looked out the window at the school he just hoped he was good enough

He needed to be a hero

He was going to be a hero

Today's the day he took his first steps to being a hero
