It was midmorning at Nixel Base, as Nixel soldiers woke up for their usual routine, each Nixel from the higher part of the hierarchy do their occupations, either cooking "food" for the army, making plans to get Cubits or capture Mixels, or making machinery for their battles.

While most of the Nixels are doing their jobs, one, Nixeleen was still in her bedroom, a large bedroom that was... well... fit for a princess. The room had its usual black and white accents, and shiny crystalline floor, yet its room design is a pretty interesting sight. The black paint striped over the white half of the walls, leaving the ceiling to be black completed with a white swirl. A white/crystalline medium-sized chandelier, four white wall shelves in between a very large, black mirror, two by a large, luxurious black bed that sports a black mattress with a white center, a black outer frame, and bedposts that widely spiral white to the top, completed with a black canopy. To the back of the bedroom, there's a black curtain set with a rather large drawered window seat that is horizontally striped black and white.

Back to the bed and between the canopy's transparent curtains, there she was, sleeping comfortably under the covers. As Nixeleen is peacefully sleeping, the bedroom door suddenly opened, to who entered was a small, cat-eared female Nixel, who wore a concerned expression when she looked up to the bed.

"Still sleeping at this hour." The Nixel spoke in a worried tone. Without hesitation, the Nixel ran and climbed onto the bed before having sight of the princess.

"Can't let some Nixel see her like this." the Nixel huffed, as then decided to try to wake her friend up.

"Nixeleen... Nixeleen... NIXELEEN!" with that effort, the princess is now awake, startled, whilst seeing the Nixel now sitting on the blanket, rubbing her head. Murx is one of the Nixels she had bonded with and is the only closest. Like Nixeleen, she is one of the few to like creativeness and is even friends with a Mixel. Murx would sometimes sneak out of the base to tell her friend her interesting stories about the outside. Now at their moment of silence, Nixeleen, almost finished catching her breath from the surprise, was the first to speak.

"M-Murx?! Why'd you do that for??" Nixeleen inquired.

"I had to wake you, can't let you sleep through your special day," Murx answered, getting back on her feet and sliding off the bed, before making her way out of the room. "See you downstairs."

At the little Nixel's words, Nixeleen looked at her calendar behind her bed one of the days is circled and written "My Birthday", Nixeleen was surprised.

"Today's my birthday..." She muttered, then turns to her friend leaving the room simultaneously had something in mind. "Also, don't scare me like that again, please!"

"Not gonna happen, princess!" Murx shouted back. Letting out a defeated sigh, Nixeleen got up from her bed in her nightgown and started some stretches. Giving the last stretch, the princess heard a knock on her door. "Come in!" She said, the Nixel who came in was one of the higher hierarchy associates; Major Nixel. Major was one of those Nixeleen had acquainted with. While he gets roared at by the king, Nixeleen would be a softer opposite that would at least give him some praise and advice for future assurance. Major got down on one knee to inform.

"Your highness, I came to tell you that your father wants to have a word with you and has something from him as well," Major reported before standing back to his position. "Oh, thank you." Nixeleen conceded as she was getting ready. Major then walks out the door to where he remembered something. "And also, happy birthday, princess!" he cheered as he pulled out and blew the party horn, then closed the door. Smiling at his appreciation, she continued to get ready to step out.

Nixeleen now in her less formal princess gown, made her way down the stairs where she is met with Nixels decorating in the middle of the base. Looking around herself, she was amazed yet happy for the little guys doing something good, taking a break from stealing Cubits and capturing Mixels. Mixels? Heh, those thoughts again... Those eye-catching counterparts always make her so intrigued every time she thinks about them. Alas, gotta keep it a secret.

When Nixeleen had entered the Throne Room, she glanced at the space where the light couldn't shine through. "I'm in your presence, father." She said.

"Nixeleen, my precious daughter." The ominous figure spoke, rising from his massive throne, walking out of the darkness where the light caught his riotous appearance, then kneeling to his daughter's height. "My daughter, I would like to give you this present before the party starts." the King said gently, giving her the present in her hands. Curious, she untied the black ribbon and then lifted the lid; inside were four bracelets in the box, which caused her wide-eyed by surprise; and she was happy about it.

"Father," Nixeleen began, turning her head up to her kin "I don't know what to say, but thank you." King Nixel then put his hand on her shoulder, nodding his head. She took the gift with her. "You get ready for your birthday." He said, Nixeleen nodded to his words and headed toward her room, though it wasn't long when she heard her father audible muttering, she listened carefully. "As you're growing up pretty fast, soon enough; the daughter of mine is going to be the queen of this land and rule it when I pass away, overwhelming those pesky Mixels, putting an end to their foolish Mixing and creativeness, also taking over Mixopolis and changing them into Nixed zombies, being under her control!" As King Nixel roared at the last part, Nixeleen was uncomfortable and displeased. She heard the events of Nixelizing the Mixels since they had a festival, an attempt from the Mixamajig hoax, and the I-Cubit scam. 2 out of 3 good successes, though it's still hard to not cringe or to pretend to not have sympathy from the experiences of watching. "Yet, anyway, she still has some ways to go." the king finished. Nixeleen continued to go on her way.

Back in her room, she sat on her bed and looked at her window, thinking from earlier. "I know my father hates Mixels, but... I bet Mixing could be fun at least, still him, Major, and the others hate them except for me and some of us." Nixeleen sighed. "Sadly, it's gonna a long time for the hierarchy to give up their spite for them."

Her train of thought had come to an end when she heard horns playing downstairs; the party was about to begin. She quickly put on her bracelets; two on each arm got into her informal princess gown and headed down. Quickly walking to the center, Nixeleen then found herself blindfolded by a familiar voice. "Happy birthday, your highness!" Nixlee... Another one of the higher ranking Nixels; is Commandress Nixlee. Although Nixlee doesn't interact with Nixeleen much, she could have some spots to fill in that are missed out. Like Major Nixel, will be comforted and praised when the mission comes to fail.

"Ready to whack the ballooƱata?" Nixlee asked, putting the bat in Nixeleen's hands. "Ready." Nixeleen answered. Cueing the commandress to spin her and let her attempt to hit the object, though failed in the end. To be fair, she let the other Nixels play her games; such as pinning the ears on the Nixel, throwing darts, and more.

After the games, now guided by the commandress again, she sat the princess down on a chair where she took the blindfold off. Nixeleen's eyes are met by a large, nicely decorated, black and white cake made by the Major himself, topped with two numbers 1 and 8.

"Make a wish, your majesty." Major said. Nixeleen closed her eyes and took some deep, quiet breaths. "I wish I can stop the war if Mixels and Nixels, and have peace between us." She thought, then blew out the candles, everyone clapped and cheered, she was so happy with the best birthday she'd ever experienced.

After the celebration as the night rolled in, everybody in the army settled in bed; comfortably or uncomfortably. In the princess' room, she, being tucked in by her father informed her about tomorrow. "Get plenty of rest," King began. "tomorrow it will be your first mission to track down a Rainbow Cubit. Since Major and Nixlee taught you a few stealth and attack moves, it's guaranteed for you to be ready when those pests try to stop you."

Nixeleen nodded at the affirmation, before King walked out of the room, then looked behind himself. "Sweet dreams, princess." he whispered, then closed the door. Nixeleen softly smiles before heading off to sleep.

Whilst Nixeleen was asleep, something made her get up from her sleep, hearing the sound of paper ripping. Concerned, she looked under her bed where she found a stray Nixel tearing away her drawings.

"Hey."

Grabbed by her voice, the startled Nixel chuckled nervously and apologized before scurrying out the room.

"There goes my information." She thought sadly, then went back to sleep, expecting a better day.

Okay, Chpt 1 is finally done! Excuse me from the wait, had some stuff to do, just graduated, had my birthday, etc. I do appriciate about your patience, Chapter 2 is still in progress, though it is a bit longer than this first one, it might take a while. While at it, here's a few of the trivia...

Trivia 1# - Nixeleen was previously named Nixelette, though decided that needed to be change since for me to believe that name is taken.

Trivia 2# - In the earlier making of the story, in my so-called novel, Murx was not present where she woke up her friend

Trivia 3# - Nixeleen previously had a more outgoing, determination type style of speech, but toned it down to a gentle, lady-like mannerism (I believe).

That's all the Trivia for right now, until the next Chapter. Also...

Nixlee belongs to DrawingStar12 or SuperShark (forgot the numbers)

Murx belongs to... tbh I didn't pay attention/know her creator's username, but do know that they are on DeviantArt.
