As Flora finished packing her bag, she smiled reflecting on her journey ahead to Alfea. This was the school she has wanted to attend for so long and overjoyed to achieve that mission. The next one would be to do well in school and on the basketball team. Her dream/goal in life is to be apart of the NBA as well as become a vet and have her own business.
Going over her mental checklist, Flora nodded before closing the suitcase.
Soon she heard her mother call out. "Flo, are you ready to go. It is a long journey to Alfea."
"Coming mother." The brunette responded, cheerfully.
Picking up the suitcase, she walked out of the house.
Her mother and Aisha were already in the car, waiting for her. Placing the suitcase into the already open trunk that had most of her stuff into it, Flora closed it. Walking to the passenger side of the car, she stopped upon hearing Aisha clearing her throat. Looking at the older female, she saw her pointing towards Helia's house.
Looking over, Flora saw Helia standing nervously not too far away from the vehicle.
The oldest female said from the driver's side of the car, "Five minutes."
Flora nodded before walking over to the male.
"Yes?" Flora asked once she reached close to him.
"... I'm... I'm sorry." Helia managed to muster. "I am sorry for acting like a jerk when I should have been happy you got through for the school you desired to attend. If you still want to have me, I promise to make an effort to make the long distance relationship work till we graduate and can move in together."
Looking at the engagement ring, Flora took a moment before she replied. "I am willing to give us another chance as long as you can meet me half way with things as well as try not to behave like you did the last time we were alone."
Helia nodded. "Let me know when you reach Alfea. Once you are settled in, we can discuss how to make this... us work. Okay?"
"Okay." Flora nodded. "I better get going. It's a long trip."
Helia nodded before surprising Flora with a quick kiss.
Blushing, the brunette ran to the passenger side of the car. Entering, she looked back at Helia who was gazing at her.
Flora's mother blew the car horn before driving away from the house.
Flora stuck her head out of the car window and waved to Helia who was still standing by the drive way of the house. He waved back to her, forcing a smile while trying to hide how heartbroken he was that she would be so far away from him.
'I don't know if the relationship Helia and I last but I am willing to take the risk. I willing to go the distance because I love him.' Flora thought.
She continued to wave at him till he was no longer in site. Rolling up the window, she turned on the A/C, looking ahead to the new adventure that awaits her.
