I do not own Harry Potter, or Star Wars.
Hello guys Badger here. First off, I want to apologise if this chapter seems unpolished or has a few mistakes. You see, yesterday, I woke up and my left eye was swollen, to the point I couldn't even open it. I went to a doctor about it and they couldn't find anything wrong, saying it should go down over the next couple of weeks. Because I only had one eye to see my screen, there might be a few mistakes. Thankfully, when I woke up today, the swelling went down a lot and I can actually open and close my eye. However it's still not perfect and as I'm already partially blind in my left eye, it's possible there are a few mistakes I wasn't able to find and change.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the new chapter and I'll see you at the end.
Chapter 3
Help From A Stranger
Harry stood alone, as he looked out the window, watching the flying vessels going in all kinds of directions, reminding him of one of the motorways back home. All he thought about was everything that happened the day before. After being questioned, the man, Mace Windu, left for an hour or so, before he returned. Harry was escorted to a large, circular room, where several more people sat in seats. A small green creature, that reminded Harry of one of the House Elves inside Hogwarts except this one had a strange speech impediment, informed Harry that they believed he wasn't a threat, and allowed him free roam in the temple and the planet, as long as he didn't go too far. They also informed him that, when they find out where Earth is on their maps, they'll take him home. After that, he was handed over to a man called Anakin Skywalker, where Harry was now sharing a room with his…Padawan, Ahsoka Tano. Harry was also glad to have his wand back. He felt better knowing he wasn't completely defenceless should something happen. Strangely, when he wrapped his fingers around his wand, he felt a warm tingling feeling flow through him. He's never felt anything like it before.
There was still one thing running through his head, however, that Harry still had no answer too. If he somehow ended up here, then did Sirius appear too. At first, he thought Sirius might be somewhere else in the strange city, but when he found out he was on another planet, Harry began to wonder if he ended up on another planet entirely. If he did, then Harry was going to need to find someone who can get any information on his whereabouts and Harry didn't exactly trust this 'Jedi Order' just yet to help him. He just needed to figure out where he could find someone to help him. Harry turned when he heard the sound of the door opening behind him, where he saw Ahsoka enter, the door closing with a soft hiss of pressure.
"How are you holding up?" She asked, her voice had a soothing tone to it
"I'm pretty okay" Harry replied, turning back to the window, leaning against the windowsill "It's just…"
"It's a little bit overwhelming?" Ahsoka guessed, when Harry struggled to find the right words
"I guess that's one way of putting it" Harry said, dryly "I'm still trying to wrap my ahead around everything…where I am…how I got here…seeing all these strange aliens is bad enough…as I told that man, Windu, my people haven't even managed to explore deep space, let alone make contact with other life forms"
"Well, how about I show you around?" Ahsoka offered "Let you get more familiar with the temple and parts of the city…it should help you think about something else"
"That would be nice" Harry nodded, before walking outside the room alongside Ahsoka "Hey…I'm curious…what kind of alien are you exactly?"
"I'm a Togruta" Ahsoka replied "I don't know much about my people, but I do know that they share some kind of telepathic link, which is why they prefer to travel in groups, relying on others around them and the attachment they require from another, which, as far as I know, somehow makes them stronger"
"Are there other Togruta in the temple?" Harry asked
"I've seen a few, though I don't mind how many exactly" Ahsoka shrugged
…
For the next hour, Ahsoka gave Harry a tour of the temple. It was bigger then he was expecting. He was glad he took the tour, as Harry was certain he would get lost in a place like this. However, one place he was most interested in, was the library, or the Jedi Archives as Ahsoka called it. Their library was bigger and grander, then the library at Hogwarts. If Hermione saw a place like this, she'd probably drool at everything she could learn. The thought made Harry smile slightly. Hopefully he'd be back home soon. However, the archives did interest him. It would probably take some time to find Earth, and Sirius, so maybe Harry could find out more about the Jedi. Windu may have given him some kind of brief history on the Jedi, but Harry wanted to find out more. Figure out who these people were, exactly. After exploring the temple, Ahsoka led Harry outside, to explore parts of the city. As Harry followed Ahsoka down some stairs, to a market area, he saw a place that was dimly lit, packed with strange hut like structures, with people going about their day. It looked quite ominous
"Hey Ahsoka, what's that down there?" Harry asked
"Oh, I wouldn't go down there if I were you" Ahsoka replied "There are a lot of…unruly people down there…Bounty Hunters, Slicers, Hackers and Assassins to name a few…they are normally the people go to if they need help…for a small fee of course"
"Interesting" Harry muttered
Harry kept an eye on the alley, as he continued making his way down alongside Ahsoka. If he could get some currency, then perhaps tonight he should make his way over. Maybe someone down there would be able to find any information on Sirius. He would just need to give them some kind of documents about who to look out for. Hopefully, they'll be able to find some kind of information.
…
Harry had to admit, the surrounding city around the temple, was quite nice. They were a lot of markets and all kinds of businesses. After some time exploring the area, Harry and Ahsoka entered the temple, where the strange device on Ahsoka's glove started beeping. Ahsoka sighed slightly, before pressing a button, where Anakin's voice could be heard.
"Hey Ahsoka, where are you?" He asked
"I was just showing Harry around" Ahsoka replied "That way he can properly make his way around"
"Okay, good" Anakin replied "Well, I want you to meet me in the practice arena, we may be at war, but I don't want your combat skills to get rusty"
"I'll be there soon" Ahsoka replied, disconnecting the call, before turning to Harry "Do you want to come, see what combat with a Lightsaber is like?"
"Not today, thank you though" Harry replied "I want to head to the…Jedi Archives, I'd like to find out a bit more about…well everything"
Ahsoka nodded, before walking off, giving Harry a gentle wave as she did so. Harry stayed where he was for a moment, turning in a circle before remembering where the archives were and made his way down. The archives were quite busy, with people of all ages going about their day, looking through some fancy computers. He wasn't entirely sure where to begin. Thankfully, after a few moments, an elderly lady, who reminded him of Professor McGonagall approached him, a gentle smile on her face.
"You're the new arrival I'm guessing?" She asked
"Uh…yeah, that's me" Harry replied awkwardly "Do…do you have anything here about the Jedi…I want to learn more about you guys and…Windu was very brief in his explanations"
"Why of course, follow me" The woman said, gesturing down one of the aisles "The archives has thousands…possibly millions of data cards and documents on the history of the Jedi, but these are the ideal data cards to look through first…the others would overwhelm you with how much they include"
Harry watched, as she waved her hand in front of a square, causing the square to slide out, revealing a drawer. She then pulled out thin and small, rectangular and metallic cards, with a strange symbol on them, before she handed them to him, leading him to a computer.
"Just insert them in there and it will show you everything you need to know" She said, pointing to a hole wide enough to fit the card, before she pointed to some devices that looked like floppy disks "And if you want to transfer any kind of information, just insert one of those and you'll be able to transfer any information you wish…I'll leave you to it"
Harry nodded, as he sat down and inserted one of the data cards where she pointed out. Immediatley, Harry was almost blinded by a bright blue light coming from the computer. Thankfully, the brightness on the computer died down and Harry could see a bunch of information in front of him. It took Harry a few moments to figure out how to use the computer, but when he did, he began reading the information in front of him. After about a minute, he came across a category that gained his interest: THE FORCE. Harry remembered Windu mention the Force a couple of times. At the time, Harry didn't really think anything of it, but seeing it listed in front of him, he grew curious, so he read the information in front of him:
The Force is a mysterious energy field created by life that binds the galaxy together. Harnessing the power of the Force gives the Jedi, the Sith, and others sensitive to this spiritual energy extraordinary abilities, such as levitating objects, tricking minds, and seeing things before they happen. While the Force can grant users powerful abilities, it also directs their actions. And it has a will of its own, which both scholars and mystics have spent millennia seeking to understand.
After reading what was in front of him, Harry leant back in his seat. What these people called the Force, seemed similar to magic, though it seemed to be slightly more limited. It made Harry wonder if magic and the Force, were somehow linked in some way. Harry wasn't sure who discovered magic on Earth, but maybe some being on another planet discovered magic, or something similar and began teaching others, before becoming the Jedi, and something called the Sith, which the info provided, told him the Sith were members of 'Dark Side' of the Force. Something that reminded Harry of the Death Eaters. Intrigued, Harry began reading more, where he found himself shocked at what he read.
…
Elsewhere in the Temple, Obi Wan stood by Windu, in front of a large, circular table, as they looked at a map of stars and planets, reading through the names provided. The door behind them opened, where Yoda, sitting on a hovering chair, approached them.
"Progress, on finding Harry's planet, how is?" Yoda asked, looking at the map himself
"Slow" Obi Wan replied "'Earth' is a planet none of us are familiar with…we're looking through the maps of the closest sectors in the galaxy, but with how many planets there are, it's taking longer than expected"
"What doesn't help is how much of the maps are incomplete" Windu continued "Excluding the planets removed from the archive memories, there is still a large chunk of the galaxy the Jedi haven't explored, it's entirely possible that we have never explored the sector where 'Earth' is…If this does seem to be the case, then getting Harry home could possibly take months, maybe even years with how the war is getting even more out of control"
"It doesn't come to that, let's hope not" Yoda sighed, as he closed his eyes "Sense, I do, that Harry wants to be back home"
"There's something else, isn't there?" Windu asked, knowing Yoda all to well by this point
"The Dark Side of the Force, worried has me" Yoda replied, slowly opening his eyes "Still unknown, the Dark Lord of the Sith is…possible, it is, for him to learn of Harry's presence and magic…turn Harry to the Dark Side, he could…unsure of Harry's magic abilities I am, but dangerous it could be, if turned against us"
"I admit, I've had similar worries" Obi Wan said, keeping his eyes on the planets moving around him "Harry didn't know about the Jedi, so he wouldn't know about the Sith or Dark Side…it's entirely possible he could be easily tempted"
"We'll make sure that doesn't happen" Windu said, confidently "Or put a stop to it, in case it does"
…
It was beginning to get dark out and Harry was sat on his bed, in the room he shared with Ahsoka. He was still thinking about what he read on the data cards. When he was reading about the Jedi, he came up to something that he thought was backwards thinking and ridiculous. When looking through the information, he found something called, THE JEDI CODE. It was a list of rules and tenets each Jedi needs to follow and abide by. Some about discipline and keeping peace did seem reasonable and actually quite nice, but then he came across their beliefs on attachments and emotion. According to the files, romantic attachments, in fact attachment to anything, was forbidden. In the Jedi's beliefs, having such attachments could consume a Jedi, make them reckless, and could feed into fear of loss, possibly leading a Jedi to the Dark Side, so they didn't lose what they loved.
The there was their beliefs on emotion. In the information he read, Jedi were encouraged to rely more on their instincts then their mind. They were also taught to keep a peaceful mindset and weren't allowed to feel negative emotions because, again, it could lead them to the Dark Side. Harry couldn't believe what he was reading. He wasn't sure which was worse. Attachments and emotions, positive and negative, were a part of being human. Not to mention, according to Mad Eye Moody, a lot of magic was driven by emotion. The Patronus Charm was one of them. In a way, the Jedi were isolating themselves from everyone else, by these beliefs.
The sound of the door opening, interrupted his thoughts, causing harry to look up, where he saw Ahsoka enter, looking a little worn out.
"Oh hey" She said, tiredly, sitting on her bed "How are you doing?"
"I'm fine" Harry replied "I was just looking through information on the Jedi, to find out more about you lot"
"Anything you find interesting?" Ahsoka asked
"Your beliefs on attachments and emotion for one" Harry replied "Are you lot crazy?!"
"What do you mean?" Ahsoka raised an eyebrow
"It's ridiculous!" Harry exclaimed "Disallowing romantic attachments…not being allowed to express negative emotions like anger…that's all a part of being human!"
"Such things could lead to the Dark Side" Ahsoka replied automatically, repeating what she was taught in training, before being assigned to Skywalker as his Padawan
"Just because they 'could' doesn't mean they 'will'" Harry countered "on my home world, emotion is the one thing needed to be able to use magic…besides, doesn't everything about 'no attachments' contradict everything about you in particular?"
"Explain" Ahsoka said, she was getting worried at what he was saying, but now, from that statement, she was curious
"You're a Togruta, you said that your people rely on the attachment from other Togruta's" Harry said, remembering what she told him earlier "From what you said, that attachment is needed, surely everything about the Jedi Code completely contradicts everything about you and your nature?"
Ahsoka opened her mouth to reply, but closed it again. She had no response. She had never thought about that before. It never crossed her mind.
"I…I've never thought about that before" She said, before laying down on her bed "I…I need to rest"
Harry watched, as Ahsoka got into her bed. He saw that she was about to respond, before thinking about what he said. He may not be as smart as Hermione, but he could tell that Ahsoka was being genuine when she said she had never thought about what he just told her. No doubt what he just told her will be running in her head for some time. Sighing, Harry made sure she was asleep, before grabbing a small rectangular object, which he believed to contain some amount of what the Jedi called 'Credits', which seemed to be their form of currency, before he then grabbed a cloak to hide his face, where he then left the room.
…
Harry was surprised how darker it gotten in just a short amount of time. Wrapping the cloak further around himself, to keep himself warmer from the chill in the air, and putting up the hood to hide his face, Harry made his way out of the Temple, and to the alleyway that Ahsoka had told him about earlier that day. He only took one step into the alleyway and knew it was shady. The repulsive smell and dim lighting didn't help with that either. He looked around, hoping to find someone who could help him. He saw a man sitting in a chair and felt like he was someone to ask.
"Hey, excuse me" Harry said, approaching "Umm…who do I go to if I need help finding someone?"
The person looked at him for a moment, as if they were evaluating Harry, before leaning forwards in a chair, before pointing to a man further down, who seemed to be half man and half machine, one of his arms being entirely robotic, with even parts of his torso being robotic.
"That man is your best bet" the man said in a raspy voice "He's one of the best, if you want results, then he's your man"
Harry nodded, before making his way to the robotic man, who looked up to Harry, when he was only a few feet away. As if he was expecting him, or knew of his approach.
"Can I help you?" He asked, his voice also slightly robotic
"Umm, apparently you're the best person to come to, if I need someone to be found, or at least any information on them" Harry replied
"Then you heard right" The man said, before giving him a greedy grin "Of course, I don't do it for free"
"I don't know how much is on this" Harry replied, handing over the credits "But will this do?"
The man took the credit chip and seemed to examine it, before he gave a satisfied grin.
"Oh yes, this will do just fine" He said "So who are you looking for?"
"My godfather…his name is Sirius Black" Harry replied, handing over a data card where he wrote down an accurate description of Sirius "Everything you need to know, is on here"
"I'll definitely do my best to get the information you need kid" The man said, taking the data card, before handing over a device "Here's a communicator, if I find anything I'll contact you, just press the red button when it starts beeping"
Harry nodded, as he took the communicator. With nothing else needed to be said, Harry made his way back out the alley, not wanting to spend another moment here. The place reminded him of Knockturn Alley and that place creeped him out, so he wanted to leave now. But, at least he was able to find someone who could help.
Hopefully, he'll find out where Sirius is soon.
…
And done, what did you guys think?
When it came to writing this chapter, I actually planned for Harry to ask Cad Bane for help, with Bane playing a more important role later down the line. However, I was unable to think of a plot point to include him in, so that idea was scrapped and I just made up a random character instead. Will this strange find any information on Sirius? You'll have to see.
Before I go, I want to tell you something. I'm actually collaborating with another user to co-write a story. The full story isn't solid yet, so I'll leave it there, but if you have a story idea you want me to write, you want me to continue a story you no longer wish to do, or you want to do a collaboration and co-write a story then do feel free to let me know. I haven't said it for a while, but I do take story requests.
That is all for now. I hope you enjoyed and I'll see you next time.
