It's been about a week since Jack and his teacher left Rowlhart.

It took a while for him and Johnson to convince the rest that he was safe in his teacher's wing. Orlea and Alice were such worrywarts. It took hours to explain that Rimuru, his teacher, was more than capable of defending both him and herself from danger. It all ended with a lot of hugging and crying from both sides.

Waving at his close ones from afar, Jack walked on the road with Rimuru. After a few hours of travelling, Jack finally decided to ask where they were going.

Only for his teacher to reply with an, "I don't know."

He could feel his eye twitch. His teacher then explained she was basically running off to wherever that has anything that caught her fancy; in other words, she had no idea where she would end up next.

He could almost hear his own vein pop at how ridiculous her explanation was.

They had settled in the forest near the road on his first night outside of the town, ever. They then had breakfast in the morning. He still didn't know how his teacher kept finding animals to hunt.

After breakfast, his teacher suddenly struck a younger tree, which fell immediately after only one attack. He had cold sweats on his back when the tree fell near him.

His teacher then threw him some tools out of nowhere (seriously, where did she keep them!?) and told him to create his own bokken, which he learned was something equivalent to a curved wooden sword. It took five days for him to complete it with his teacher's guidance and care.

The result was much cruder than he'd expected, but Rimuru congratulated him anyway. To keep him from feeling down, his teacher told him some very important words.

"Jack, it is not an excellent tool that makes someone a master. Instead, a master is someone who can use any tool to achieve excellent results."

He took those words to heart.

Right after that, they began his first sword training. His cloaked teacher told him to attack her with all he's got, to which he responded the same way he did with the pirate captain. Needless to say, he was seen through right away. Just as he got out of the shadows, he was jabbed by Rimuru's bokken on his flank.

"You have a good aim with the sword, but you are too predictable and you lose sight of your surroundings when you attack," the blue haired woman critiqued.

She then said that she had a solution for that.

...by simulating him being hunted. She was the hunter, of course.

He saw his teacher disappear into thin air. He wasn't ready for the onslaught that came next.

He tried to hide in the shadows, but amazingly he was still hit in there! He decided that he'd have a better chance above, because he didn't really know where his body went while inside.

After getting hit, stabbed, and pummeled many times, he began to see a pattern in the attacks. Slowly but surely, he was able to dodge then one by one. When he was finally able to dodge the full pattern, it changed entirely. He tried to reread them, but they were just too chaotic.

After more hours of suffering, he began to catch on to the rhythm of the attacks. He focused on the sound each attacks made. With that, he was finally able to not just sense where the attack came, but also know the type, speed, and power of each strike.

He dodged them all. Not long after, he was able to hear the attacks becoming faster, up to the point where he was no longer able to dodge.

It was like he moved instinctually. His hand moved the sword on its own.

Tock!

He not only deflected the attack; he pushed it aside and struck back! It was like everything clicked. The pattern, the sound, the movement, he was able to process everything and emulate them into his strikes! Not just that, he was able to combine the attacks create new patterns and combos!

He was now on the initiative.

He even weaved his [Shadowfoot] into his chain of attacks. He kept going; he could feel the side of his lips go up. And then, finally... he collapsed.

"Wh... What?" He asked, confused as to why he suddenly collapsed.

"Congratulations. You were able to enter the flow state for the first time."

The flow state. It is a moment when a person is so immersed into doing something that they are able to empty their minds and focus solely on the things they are currently doing. It can be said that once you were in that state, you forget about the past and future, and live solely in the moment.

"You were so busy taking in signals from the outside that you neglected to listen to the signals your own body was giving you. Do you know how long you've been attacked for?"

He thought hard about it. He could only guess, "eight hours?"

"You were attacked for almost twenty four hours straight."

His eyes widened when he heard that. No wonder he was so tired. His body was practically screaming at him to stop. He should probably include it... in the state the... next time... he...

As Jack slowly lost consciousness, Rimuru picked him up and carried him backed to the camp. He then set up Jack's bed and lied him down.

He smiled and said, "Good job. I'm proud of you."

It was currently noon on the seventh day they left.

"How would my brother would think of him," he asked to himself.

{I'm very sure he would have stolen your disciple for himself.}

Rimuru chuckled. He wondered how Veldora was doing right now.

...

Somewhere in the Spirit Realm

Veldora Tempest wasn't feeling so hot right now. He was currently hiding in one of the wells of souls, doing his best to keep his aura in check. Why was he doing this?

"VELDORA TEMPEST! YOU GET YOUR ASS BACK HERE - NOW!"

That. That was the reason.

His little brother never told him marriage was this terrifying!

He kept his mouth and aura shut, hoping that she wouldn't notice where he was.

"Ehrm!"

Shit.

"H-hey. Ramiris, h-honey, what ar--"

"Don't you 'honey' me! You know what you did! Now, come with me," Ramiris pulled him by the ear.

"Owowow! Alright, I'm sorry, I'm sorry!"

While Veldora and Ramiris had been best friends for countless of years, their relationship started to change when the girl started growing up.

After Ramiris grew up, she changed a lot, and thanks to the expansion of the multiverse, she able to keep her adult form indefinitely. Veldora was at first saddened by the change, before he realized how stupid it was to feel that way and started feeling happy for her growing maturity.

They still hung out with each other, but with each time they met and conversed, they slowly grew feelings for each other.

After hundreds of years of playing cat and mouse with one another, his little brother decided it was enough and practically shouted at them to get married.

The no-marriage policy between the higher powers was abolished when Ciel figured out a way to bypass the dangers of procreation. Though, this didn't matter to the couple as they weren't planning to have kids any time soon.

Long story short, they got married.

Veldora had split off the soul corridor with Rimuru in order to stay with Ramiris. It wasn't that they had a falling out; they were still bros, after all. He just wanted to show his love how serious he was with this.

Though, now he was starting to regret it. Clone Rimuru refused to wake up and help him hide from his wife's wrath. With nowhere to hide, Veldora was dragged off by his wife back into their home.

Really, where was his little brother when he needed him!?
