(I don't think I'll be able to post daily for these coming weeks. Things like college and other stuff have been adding up by the day. I hope for your patience in regards to this matter.)
(My shortest chapter to date)
As the morning sun rose, Voltaire walked back to his home. On his hand was a sack of Foldes the woman named Rimuru had given to him. She said he should continue "investigating" her while he secretly spied on and fed information about the Mortuary to her. She even paid him double the price Dan paid him. Her only warning was not to mention about her son Jack, the boy that saved his nephew and niece earlier. With that kind of offer, there was no way he could decline.
He chuckled to himself. It looked like the heavens were smiling down upon him.

Estherline, Fateful Capital of the Papal States
The Grand Cathedral
Pope Paul was rubbing his balding head as he read the reports in his extravagant office. Things were not looking good. First, another ongoing coup attempt. Ever since the Blindsighting, there had been an ongoing trend among the people of Fate where in every few decades, a new force from the inside would try to overthrow the heads of the church. So far, none had been successful, unless you counted the one that came right after the Blindsighting, of course. At first, Paul wasn't too worried; all have failed so far, so why should he be? But then came the second grave news.
Four of their seven only seers had committed suicide around a month ago. It was so similar to what happened five hundred years ago that the pope thought that the coup might actually succeed this time. In his hands were the notes they left before their undesired passing. They looked to be made at the same time individually, but the contents were all different. The four prophecies were:
First, titled The Four Beasts of Chaos, which read, "Upon their arrival, a requiem under the raging sea; a murder on the bright skies; a sage of the searing desert; and a child carried by the storm's scaled hand."
Second, which were three young leaves glued to a drawing of six pillars, with five pillars circling the tallest one. Under them were the words, "They shall be swept by the winds of chaos."
Third, was written by an attendant who was nearby when the prophet foretold this prophecy, which read, "The forces of dark and light shall clash once again, beholden by chaos itself."
The final and most worrying one, written in the seer's own blood, titled Fate is Just Chaos Given Meaning, which somehow clearly read, "The Age of Chaos shall make its return, with the same usher as the last; the viscous one."
One glaring similarity about all the prophecies was that every one of them involved the word "Chaos." Even the seers' prophecies during the Blindsighting hinted about chaos. After discussing with his trusted people, they were only able to somewhat deduce the prophecies.
They figured the raging seas to be the Sealed Monster Sea and the searing desert could be the Sunkiss Desert.
The most obvious one was the second prophecy. It had to be about three students of Rabianigh.
Light and dark could mean them and the demon army. They were fairly sure of that. Though, it might also involve the Remnant Council.
The last one, they had no idea. The only thing they recognized was the most obvious: the Age of Chaos.
The church had yet decided to move about this matter. There were just too many inconsistencies. Right now, they still had the coup to worry about.
...
Demon General Audrey was in charge of the investigation of Rabianigh. Her mission involved absolute secrecy for obvious reasons. The mages' forces and the possible combination with the Demons' Resistance made this all the more stressful. One wrong move and she and her branch would be caught in a rock and a hard place. Damn, she really wanted to see those humans squirm in terror, but it just didn't seem possible.
"You've summoned me, General?" called a demon in the guise of a twelve year old.
Audrey grinned and said, "It's time. Go and enroll."
The demon bowed and confirmed, "By your orders."
...
The eldest sighed as she looked at her great granddaughter.
She started, "You shall be enrolling into the Arcanus Academy in Rabianigh."
"...what?"
(Agh! Really sorry for the massive info dump!)
(I couldn't for the life of me make a prophecy sound coherent, so I'm sorry for that too!)
(I really wanted to make it longer, but with many things going on right now, I couldn't. I needed to post this to inform you of what I said at the start of the chapter.)
(I'll try to make it more coherent next chapter, but that'll also mean more worldbuilding and info dumps. So, please bear with it! I'll try to make it more fun to read)
(Please tell me in the reviews if you find any plot holes!)
