TWrites asked for another epilogue to this story which she was only joking about, but because she does so much for our community, this was one request I couldn't say no to. I had to reread most of the story to try to get to that place to write it in the original character's voices because I had lost them after all this time. Please forgive all my mistakes. This content is all coming from me no Glee or the original story, so it may seem wacko because original Sam would not be talking this much it would be five words per sentence max, but without further ado, I give to you Epilogue 2!
It was now officially a new year and much of the town people had worked together to get several businesses back open. The first thing was reopening the school, the second was to use the hospital as a modified clinic, and the third thing was to reopen Cedes' Place as a store that people could use to trade goods. Those who had eggs could trade for milk, those with cheese could trade for bread, and so on in one place for those on the side of the town east of Cove Mountain. Those on the west side of town used the old Kroger's as their marketplace.
Because Cedes was eight months pregnant, Roz and Bree were in charge of the eastside store, Brett and his wife were in charge of the westside store, Mike was in charge of the modified clinic, and Emma was in charge of the school. Sam was still in charge of the security in the community. Even though the electricity had been restored, there was still no police, mayor, or governor to ensure law and order in communities. Each community looked out for themselves, and outsiders were still not welcome. There was still a limit on food and supplies that used to be mass produced, so each community needed to be small so it could be self-sustaining.
Every household in their community was encouraged to grow their own gardens and canned leftovers for the winter months. Toilet paper was still a luxury that most people missed the most. Even though televisions and radios now worked, they were only used for news and showing of reruns. Hollywood, New York City, Atlanta, Miami, and many more major cities no longer existed, so no new content was being filmed or distributed.
Cedes had rewritten a lot of movies that consisted of Sam and her as the major characters and they enjoyed doing XXX rated version of every movie that she could remember. Her favorite rewrite was the X-Men and the only characters in their version were Wolverine and Storm. Sam was the surly loner Wolverine and she was the African weather manipulator. The things Wolverine and Storm did in and outside that cabin would make the fictional characters hair curl so tight that they would both have afros. Cedes was often Storm in most of their MCU remakes. He was most often Wolverine, followed by Thor, followed by Bucky Barnes, followed by Cap Steve Rogers, and last but definitely not least the Hulk-Bruce Banner. The only other MCU role playing she would do is Misty Knight and he had to be Danny Ironfist Hand. She didn't know about them, and Sam had to tell her about the comics version of their relationship. There was never a dull evening in their cabin. They did just fine without television, but some reruns did provide some inspiration for Cedes' imaginative bedtime movies/games.
Cedes believed that all work and no play made them boring. And Sam worked hard every day. Before she became seven months pregnant, she worked just as hard. Because Sam had studied the Amish a lot before the CME hit, he had everything that they needed in their home to survive even if it took five years for the electricity to be restored. Because of his forethought, he was able to teach her a lot, and she shared what she knew with her family, and her family shared it with the community members who were willing to put in the work.
Since moving in with Sam, Cedes never felt the lack of most people in the community and the world felt. However, she did make sure Roz, Bree, Carmen, and Bailey had enough to meet their needs. Bailey had moved the Carlisles in with her in November because they were unable to live by themselves when the second winter came even with electricity. Mary Jo had fallen ill and passed away in December, but Jim was still alive. Bailey and Jim were not courting, but they didn't tell the widowed men who were constantly trying to ask Bailey to keep them company, so they would leave her alone. Cedes didn't believe that Bailey and Jim would stay single long. Bailey liked to be needed and Jim really needed her now that the love of his life had transitioned on. Sam decided that Bailey and Jim could use a dog for protection since they lived alone in Cedes' old home, so he continued to check on Jim and McConaughey when he and/or Mercedes came into town to check on Roz, Bree, and Carmen.
"Honey, it's freezing, why are you out here on the porch?" Sam asked his heavily pregnant wife who had to be carrying multiples because she was not eating enough food to be as big as she currently was.
"I remember you being hit by a tree before when you were off getting wood. It was the first time we kissed, so I will never forget it. I worry when you are out there all alone. As soon as I can no longer hear your chainsaw I worry until I see you coming towards our home that you are not injured."
"Well, I am a lot more careful than I used to be. I have more to miss out on if something were to happen to me. How are you and our little basketball team doing?"
"For the one billionth time, I am not pregnant with quintuplets. Mike has heard only two heartbeats, and Penny agrees that I am more than likely only pregnant with twins. Mike is no OBYGN, but Penny, Hank, and him have been delivering more CME Babies than any other medical procedures. They would know."
"You just wait, you cursed yourself, when you said you wanted four more, so God is going to give you five at once."
"If I didn't have to push them out, clean them, feed them, clothe them, I would be more than happy to have five little girls to drive you out of your mind, but I feel the kicking, and I am sure there are only two babies inside of me."
"You know my dad is a twin. They say it always skips a generation. In that case, you are probably having twin boys."
"I don't care if they are boys or girls; I just want them to be healthy. Besides if I was pregnant with the litter you think I am, I would have probably gone into labor by now. Most people who have multiples do not carry them to term. Mike is almost positive that I will give birth to these babies in March."
"Well, the reason why you can carry four or five babies to March unlike other women is they didn't have your hips and are not treated like a queen. If it was up to me all you do is stay off of your feet, eat, and sleep."
"You do try to spoil me, but now that it is winter, I have been enjoying partially hibernating with you. I have always been a loner and probably just as antisocial as you, and that is why I have enjoyed the solitude that living on this mountain gives us now and as it did last year on our honeymoon."
"Solitude? Your relatives or either coming up the mountain or we are going down the mountain almost daily since you became six months pregnant to check on you even though we have walkie talkies that allow us to communicate with each other. You are like we will use them when the babies come. We can use them now."
"Whatever, Sam, you know how Roz lies. I have to look her in the eye to make sure she is telling the truth. Even though she and Bailey are co-community leaders, I still have to make sure they are caring for everyone even those who most in the community wish would leave but like cockroaches that Nelson and Menkins family refuses to be gotten rid of."
"You would think after the disgrace that they wouldn't show their faces, but I guess when their drug supplies ran out, they finally decided to actually work and be a part of the community."
"And that is a good thing. We can't punish children based on the sins of their fathers. Now that you have stacked up all that wood, let's go in so we can do our part in conserving water. You need a shower, and I have been waiting until you returned to take my own."
"Oh my horny little wife is that the excuse you are using to be in our shower with me naked and wet without much room to maneuver from your wandering hands." He took her hands and helped her out of the rocking chair that she had sat on with an electric throw on top of her. She had on a hood, scarf, gloves, winter coat, and boots. She looked like a curvy snowwoman.
"That was only doing my second trimester that I was jumping your bones whenever and wherever I could. I am too big to even try to take your virtue fair maiden Samantha."
"Oh, so that is the role playing you want us to do tonight. Should I worry about being pegged by you." He asks as he began to undress her.
"Stop it, Sam Evans, or you will be using your hand a lot longer than the six to eight weeks it will take me to heal from having your gigantic babies."
"Remind me to stop letting my mom talk to you on the ham radio."
"She told me you were eleven pounds and three ounces. I was a normal sized six pound and seven ounces. It is your fault that I am waddling around like an obese mother duck." They made their way into the bathroom. And she gathered her shower cap knowing that showering with Sam mean her head would get wet because of their difference in height.
"And if it wasn't a health risk, I would keep you this size, your breast and ass alone are almost double in size, and I ain't going to lie, you are one woman who looks best with extra meat on your bones." He rubbed on both and groaned loving the lush curves her body.
"So Roz wasn't lying when she said you were checking me out when I was heavier before the CME hit?" She looked at their reflection in the bathroom mirror. She was totally pregnant and naked, and he was still fully clothed behind touching her as if she was made of precious metals.
"That woman, I should have known she would have figured out that I was interested in before I gave you the warning and only gave you the warning because I thought you were XXX rated hot even though you hid most of your charms beneath your clothes." It seems a shower was the furthest thought from his head as he seemed to enjoy himself feeling on his wife's curves.
"Well, I won't lie, the feeling was mutual. Unfortunately it took a life-changing catastrophe for us to even talk to each other, but I am grateful that you finally took me up on my embarrassing offer."
"I didn't take you up on that offer. I wanted you to want me like I wanted you, and when I found out you did, there was nothing that was going to keep me out of your pants. You were in my blood the Kryptonite to my fortress of solitude. And now I am all of the things that I never thought I would be."
"Because of the love of an amazing woman." She turned around and gave him a kiss.
"Yeah and because of loving an amazing, sexy, beautiful, giving, and exceptional woman."
"Don't be trying to get me wet before we get in the shower." She helped him remove his clothing.
"That's not all I am going to do to you."
"Boy, stop, you better be glad that I love you, Sam Evans." She said as he was finally undressed and they stepped into the shower.
"I am, and I am going to do everything in my power to keep you loving me, Cedes Evans.
And he did...
