I don't own Home Alone

Enjoy!

The drive at the O'Hare International Airport couldn't have gone any rougher than Kevin though. Along with his siblings' conversations in the way back, and his parents' complaints about making it to the airport on time, Kevin was amazed that none of the drivers had been distracted. Once the van stopped at the front of the airport, the McCallisters' spilled out from the van and in front of the building. Before Kevin jumped out, he heard one of the drivers letting out a sigh of relief that their drive was over.

"Come on Kevin," Becky said as she gave his sleeve a gentle tug.

Kevin jumped out of his seat and headed over to the baggage cart. He pulled out his Talkboy and then remembered that it needed batteries. He looked over at his father who was busy speaking with the security personnel and then got his attention. "Dad, I need batteries," he said.

"I'll give them to you on the plane, Kevin," Peter responded but didn't hear Kevin's other protests. Becky slipped by her father and joined the family group. She turned around and craned her neck to make sure that Kevin was with them, but the moment that she noticed her father and Kevin, who had a hold of his father's bag, coming towards them she reached over and took a hold of Kevin's hand.

Their journey to the gate was chaotic. Kate looked over her shoulder plenty of times to make sure that the family was together. The first group of McCallisters huddled close together and the second group was right behind them. Becky tried her best to have as much speed as she could to keep up with them. All of this running, made her realize that she was really out of shape but she was not going to stop until they reached the gate. Kevin looked down at his father's bag and searched through the contents for batteries. He kept looking up to make sure that Becky was right in front of him and didn't lose her. However, running and trying to find something was at the same time was difficult for him but he really needed those batteries. He then stopped running and quickly searched through the bag until he finally found those batteries.

"Come on, come on," his hands shook in the process and finally placed the battery in it's rightful spot. He quickly looked up and saw a portion of Becky's coat disappearing into the distance. "Becky!" he yelled her name, hoping that she was able to hear him. "Becky wait up!"

Becky though she heard her name being called. She turned her head and looked over her shoulder but stopped when she didn't notice Kevin behind her. "K-Kevin!" she yelled his name as she tried to catch her breath. "Kevin, I'm here!" she yelled through the group of people that passed her. Her eyes scanned the travelers and then was caught off guard when Kevin ran straight for her. "What do you think you're doing?" Becky asked her, "you're gonna get lost here!"

"Come on we have to keep up with the group," Kevin urged her with a push. Now was not the time for her to scold him, they needed to be with the family. "Dad, wait up!" Kevin then yelled at his father that was running right in front of them.

Ugh little brothers Becky thought as she followed after Kevin. With all these travelers walking past them, the last call for boarding, and keeping up with the family was too much for such a early morning. That's it! Becky thought as she chased after Kevin, when we get home after this vacation I'm gonna try out for the track team and they better take me in! Which would be a high unlikely scenario since tryouts had been over since last semester but it wouldn't in trying.

The group of travelers was getting less dense as Kevin and Becky finally made their way towards the gate. "Dad wait!" Kevin yelled and then bumped straight with the ticket clerk.

Becky skidded to a halt and looked as the boarding passes fluttered to the ground. "Oh I'm sorry," she heard Kevin apologize to the woman and helped her pick up the fallen boarding passes.

"That's alright," the woman replied, "are you on this flight?" she asked him.

"Yeah we both are," Kevin motioned over to his sister, "we just saw our dad running in here and we don't want to be left behind."

"Are your boarding passes here?" she asked the siblings but through all the mess of tickets, Kevin thought that he had given her his boarding pass.

Just then, another airport clerk came out from the doorway and inquired why the door had been closed yet. The woman explained the situation to the clerk when Kevin then jumped into the conversation. "The plane can't leave," he said, "this happened to us last year and it almost ruined our Christmas."

Becky rolled her eyes upon her brother's dramatic explanation. Even if they were left home alone, they had one another. "We just saw our dad run in there," Becky explained.

"Okay," the male clerk said before looking up to the woman, "board them but make sure that they locate their family."

Taking both siblings under her care, the woman escorted them inside the airplane. "Do you see your family?" she asked them and Kevin pointed over to their father at the other side of the airplane.

"Our dad is over there," he said.

"Go on and find an empty seat," she smiled to them, "have a Merry Christmas."

"You too," Becky smiled as she proceeded with Kevin to find an empty seat. It seemed that every seat was full with passengers and she hoped that they found two empty seats that were next to each other.

Kevin gave his sister's sleeve a tug and pulled her over to two empty seats. Becky took the window seat and her brother sat next to her. "Do you feel that something is off?" he asked Becky. When his sister gave him a confused look, Kevin said, "it's like no one noticed that we came in last."

"I guess they're sitting elsewhere," Becky shrugged her shoulders, "but at least we were able to find some seats close to one another. After all that running, I wouldn't want to be separated again."

Kevin braced himself if Becky was going to continue her scolding about the batteries, but he was glad that she didn't. He peeked outside of the window and looked at the runway and the bright sun. "It's really cool how airplanes are," he said to her. "That they take you to different places."

"Yeah," Becky agreed as she placed her head to the side of the window and looked out. The sun's rays shined on her skin, brining out the color of her eyes and the freckles on her face. "I just need to brace myself for the liftoff. Hate that butterfly feeling that I get."

"Why don't you sleep?" Kevin suggested, "then we'll be there in no time."

He had a point about that. Ever since this morning and the airport exercise, the moment that she sat on her seat she felt her eyes beginning to get heavy. She didn't like that she had to sleep through their destination but it was better to be energized for their first day in Florida. "I think you bring up a good point," Becky said as she adjusted herself and placed her head on her hands before shutting her eyes, "wake me up when we land."

"You got it," Kevin smiled and as his sister soundly slept, he put on his headphones to some music. It was better to get through this flight without that feeling of boredom...just like how he was going to feel through this whole vacation in Florida.
