The Doctor laughed with delight. I could tell that he was desperately hoping for this but had never expected for another Time Lord to be living anywhere in the universe. Before either of us could say anything however, the door to the roof opened again and Rose came out, stopping at the sight of me and the Doctor laughing together.

"You alright there Doctor? How'd you know Tony then?" Rose asked, looking curiously at me.

The Doctor finally stopped laughing, eyes still shining with happiness, obviously shocking Rose which makes sense, the Doctor she knows was still recovering from the War and his actions that ended it. It seems meeting a survivor, even one he didn't know, had shed a great weight off his shoulders.

I know there will be a long conversation about how I survived and the Doctor admitting his role in ending it. I would not condemn the Doctor for ending the War and I even had memories that stated the Final Sanction was rumoured to be put in place, allowing me to truthfully state that that was why I ran and why I didn't blame the Doctor. The Time Lords would have died that day no matter what, his actions merely made sure they didn't bring the universe down with them.

Plus 40 REP with the Doctor for being a survivor of the Time War.

I blinked at the notification that popped up. 40 whole points?!? He was nearly halfway to maximum reputation purely because I survived. I will do my best to live up to such trust then.

The Doctor smiled and nodded his head. "Rose, say hello to Tony Lyre, otherwise known as The Engineer!" He said happily, looking back at me as if making sure I was still here.

Rose looked stunned, eyes flickering back and forth to me and the Doctor. It was clear that whatever the Doctor was going to say, that didn't make the list of expectations.

"But he's been living next door the past 2 months or so my mum said to me. Why didn't he take his own TARDIS or something and why has he been pretending to be human?" Rose questioned, looking rather distrustful about me which I couldn't blame her for. If I knew as little about Time Lords as she did it would look very suspicious as to why one was living next door to the mother of a Companion of another Time Lord.

I decided to speak up, better to get my story out before things are assumed. "I don't really remember much of my life as a human, I only barely remember these last two months and I am assuming it is because my watch was getting closer to being able to open. I'm pretty sure my TARDIS was destroyed, I set the self-destruct before I went in the Arch and made sure it wouldn't hurt anyone nearby."

My memories actually supported this, showing me doing all this while piloting frantically away from Gallifrey. I was thankful that I made sure it was as harmless as possible, the TARDIS seeming to break apart into tiny fragments as we hit the Earth's atmosphere. It barely lasted long enough to land before it crumbled to dust.

"I was pretending to be human because for all intents and purposes, I WAS human. The Chameleon Arch is a device that allows a Time Lord to change into a different species, at the price of their memories and skills being locked away inside a fob watch for protection. It was always considered a last resort and I highly doubt any more Time Lords are out there under them."

I said all this while knowing that the Master was inside Yanas old watch, but I couldn't provide proof of that and I would hate to get the Doctor's hopes up. I didn't even know what I would do to prevent the Year That Never Was. I decided to leave that up to a future me.

Rose blinked and looked to the Doctor, silently asking whether this was true. The Doctor nodded, obviously slightly saddened that I thought there were no other survivors, but still happy at least ONE more lived. I hoped this helped him relieve his guilt, that there was a survivor that didn't hate him.

She nodded then, seeming to come to terms with the fact there was another Time Lord. Rose sighed and came over to sit next to us, legs dangling in the wind as she looked down on the people below.

Plus10 REP with Rose Tyler for explaining yourself and being trusted by the Doctor!

"Mum's never gonna forgive me for this. Said she's been terrified out of her mind the whole year. Was it a good year?" She asked the Doctor.

"Middling." He said, looking out at the horizon, seeming to be back to normal, still a tiny smile on his face. "If it's this much trouble are you gonna stay here then?" He asked her, seemingly bored. I could tell though that he enjoyed Rose's company and it would sadden him if she stayed behind.

"I dunno, can't do that to her again though." Rose said. I was being a silent observer to this, not really sure what to do, so I decided to use Observe on Rose.

Thoughts about you: hopeful you will be a friend to her and the Doctor. Finds you attractive.

I raised an eyebrow at the Luck stat, it seemed far too high for a normal human. I guess that she was pretty lucky being able to become a Companion. I didn't blame her for thinking I was attractive, I just hoped she didn't end up wanting to date me, Rose wasn't exactly my favourite of the Companions. That honour was for The Last Centurion and The Impossible Girl.

While this was going on Rose and the Doctor were laughing about the Doctor getting slapped by Jackie.

"900 years of time and space and I've never been slapped by someone's mother." The Doctor remarked, still rubbing his cheek.

"You're so gay!" Rose laughed, before calming down and thinking about what the Doctor said. "So when you say 900 years?" Rose questioned.

"That's how old I am." The Doctor nodded.

"You're 900 years old?" Rose asked, unbelieving.

"Yep." The Doctor said, simple and to the point.

"…Wow, Mum was right, that is one HELL of an age gap." Rose said, before looking at me. "How old are you then? You look like you're in your 20s." She remarked, eyes trailing over me.

"700 or so by my reckoning, the time as human not counted. Not as old as our dear Doctor here." I laughed, elbowing him slightly.

"But you've got a normal name? Tony, is that what you were called back home or?" Rose questioned, looking between me and the Doctor.

"My human name is Tony yeah. Can't remember if we are allowed to tell people our true names or anything, memories still a bit knocked about but they'll be all sorted by tomorrow." I said, looking at the Doctor to answer my implied question.

"Nope, no species is allowed to know a Time Lords true name unless they are Time Lord themself. Mainly because our names are usually pretty complicated to say, but another important reason is that some Time Lords can protect their Tomb from being broken into by having it only respond to the Time Lords true name. If no one knows it, then it's the most well protected secret." The Doctor explained.

Rose just shook her head. "Every conversation I have with you goes mental. There's no one else I can talk to about this. I've seen so much up there, and I can't say a word or I'll be thought insane or something. Aliens and spaceships, and I'm the only human on Earth that knows it."

I was about to mention the Doctor's other Companions, such as Sarah Jane, but before I could, we heard a massive horn.

We all turned round, and ducked quickly when we saw a massive spaceship bearing down on us. We turned back, watching it fall down to the River Thames, one of its wings smashing through the face of Big Ben. It finally crashed in the river, sending up an explosion of water.

"…….you've got to be joking." Rose muttered, getting a laugh out of me and the Doctor, before we all rushed down to the street, hoping to get a good look at the ship before it was locked up.

We arrived too late, the city already shutdown miles before we got close.

"Whole city must be gridlocked." Rose said, gasping for breath from the sprint. The Doctor and I were fine, both being Time Lords and also my gym exercises, I had been keeping pace with the more active Doctor, to the surprise of them both.

"I can't believe I'm here to see this. This is fantastic!" The Doctor said, grinning widely while trying to peek over the army trucks blocking the way.

"Not seeing much of it Doctor, the guys with guns are in the way." I said, trying to peek over them myself but only catching the barest hint of smoke.

"Did you know this was gonna happen?" Rose asked us.

"Nope!" The doctor and I said at the same time.

"Do you recognise the ship?"

"Nope!" The Doctor said, I kept silent for that one, thinking I could play it off as thinking I might recognise it.

"Do you know what caused it to crash?!?"

"Nope!"

"Oh I'm so glad I've got you two(!)" Rose said sarcastically. Despite this she's smiling away.

"You should be, this is what I travel for Rose! To see history happen right in front of me!" The Doctor looked like he couldn't be happier, honestly pleased to be observing history in the making.

"I've never travelled before." I remarked idly, my memories telling me I spent my whole life on Gallifrey. I barely even travelled the planet, preferring to stick to the TARDIS farms. Talk about a lack of adventuring spirit, that was going to change.

"What, you've never seen other planets or anything?" Rose asked curiously, looking at me with a raised eyebrow. The Doctor also looked pretty shocked.

I shrugged. "Nope, most travel I've done is the escape from Gallifrey to Earth, and I couldn't exactly take the time to appreciate the sights."

I saw the Doctor flinch at the mention of Gallifrey, and I patted his arm, sending him a smile when he looked at me. He sent a weak grin back.

"Well can't we use the TARDIS?" Rose asked, oblivious to the small reassurance I sent to the Doctor.

"Better not, they've already got one spaceship, I don't want to add another for them to gawk at." The Doctor stated.

"Yea but yours looks like a big blue box?" Rose said in a questioning manner.

"You'd be surprised with an emergency like this, the whole world would be watching. Nope, the TARDIS stays where it is." The Doctor declared.

"…….Doctor did you break the Chameleon Circuit?" I asked, raising an eyebrow at the flush that came over his face.

"It's not broken! Just … stuck." He muttered under his breath.

"So history is happening and we're stuck here?" Rose muttered, giving up on trying to look.

"Yes we are." the Doctor said, not giving up on trying to peer out.

"Could always do what everyone else is doing. Watch it on the telly." Rose said. The Doctor could not look more horrified if he tried.

I laughed. "Jackie will probably be throwing a party for the aliens. Come round mine, it'll be quieter at least."

Both the Doctor and Rose looked relieved at that, sending me into chuckles again.

The Doctor and Rose were sitting on my sofa, meanwhile I decided to look at the Quest that popped up.

Quest Completed!

Make friends with Jackie Tyler before the watch can be opened.

Reward: Plus 5 REP with Jackie. Plus 5 REP with Rose. Plus 5 REP with the Doctor.

Bonus Objectives: Become Admired by Jackie Tyler. COMPLETE

Become Worshipped by Jackie Tyler. FAIL

Enter a romantic relationship with Jackie Tyler. FAIL.

Bonus Rewards: Inventory system unlocked!

Nice. 'Inventory.' I said mentally, opening a status screen where a model of me was, with a 10 by10 set of boxes next to it.

Welcome to the Inventory System!

Clothing can be equipped onto your Character, with the boxes being able to hold whatever you desire, so long as they aren't alive and can fit in your hands. It can stack duplicate items up to sets of 25.

This sounded awesome. So long as I can lift an item I can throw it into my inventory. I wasn't exactly able to pick up the TARDIS, but washing machines and the like could be picked up fairly easily.

I decided to put my old pocket watch in there, wanting to keep it safe. It was going to be useful when the Family of Blood come knocking.

I walked back into my living room to see the Doctor leaving and Rose stood at the door.

"Is everything alright Rose?" I asked, watching her jump slightly.

"Yea everything's fine. Doctor said he's just gone for a wander to think." She said, looking back at the door.

"He's most likely gone to wherever they said the ship was or wherever they took the alien. He'll be back soon enough." I said reassuringly, before catching sight of a glint in Rose's hand. "What's that then?" I asked, nodding to her hand.

"TARDIS key. Says it's about time I got one." Rose said, looking pleased she got it.

"Make sure you look after it then. It's a sign of trust if a Time Lord lets you have a key to their TARDIS. don't go giving it away to anyone." I said, wanting to prevent Adam potentially giving up the TARDIS on satellite 5.

"I will do. Come on, need to pop in on my mum, make sure she's OK." Rose said, putting the key into her jeans pocket.

We both walked into Jackie's flat, drawing attention to everyone inside, including Mickey Smith, Rose's boyfriend who had obviously just walked in himself.

"Mickey! I was gonna come see ya…" Rose said, obviously surprised that he was here.

"Someone owes Mickey an apology!" One of Jackie's friends shouted.

"I'm sorry." Rose said, obviously embarrassed that she hadn't gone to see him yet.

"Not you." Jackie's friend said, looking at Jackie.

Jackie flushed. "Well it ain't my fault. What was I supposed to think, my daughter disappeared and he was the last one with her!"

An awkward silence descended before Rose and Mickey headed to the kitchen, Jackie right behind. I decided to head downstairs and wait for the TARDIS to turn up.

I was standing outside, enjoying the rare sunshine, when Rose, Mickey and Jackie all came bursting out the door to the building. I turn round with a raised eyebrow.

"See! He left you Rose. He dumped you to be stuck on Earth like the rest of us." Mickey sneered.

Unlike on the show however, Rose merely looked at me, asking a silent question with her eyes. I was already having a small effect on the universe, with Rose looking to me for knowledge.

I shook my head, making sure Rose knew that the Doctor wouldn't just dump her.

"He'll be back soon enough, he's just gone for a look at the alien." Rose said confidently.

"Get real Rose! He left you!" Mickey seemed quite annoyed at Rose's confidence in the Doctor. I remember now why I don't really like early Mickey, the Mickey that wasn't as confident and tested.

Before any of us could say anything, the wheezing of the TARDIS started to appear.

I enjoyed listening to that sound, barely paying attention to Rose trying to get her mum back in the building. When the TARDIS fully materialised, I walked up to it, quietly clicking my fingers for it to open, which it did, to my delight.

I walked inside, only to be greeted by a message.

WARNING. TARDIS ATTEMPTING TO ENTER YOUR MIND. DO YOU WISH TO ALLOW ACCESS?

I clicked the YES button that appeared, feeling a warm presence seep into my mind.

Minor connection to Time Capsule known as: TARDIS (Synced to Time Lord known as: THE DOCTOR.) Will gain ownership on permanent death/Incapacitation of THE DOCTOR.

I nodded mentally at that. In cases like the Christmas Invasion then the Tardis would connect to me so she could continue to function properly.

The Doctor was there, looking over a console. He had his arms crossed, focused on the screen. Rose entered behind me and I shuffled to the side so she could get past, Mickey and Jackie bringing up the rear.

"Alright so I lied. I went to have a look but the whole crash landings a fake, thought so, just too perfect. So I thought let's have a look-" the Doctor said quite quickly, before getting cut off by Rose.

"My mums here." Rose whispered, causing the Doctor to turn around and see us. He smiled at me, before looking at Jackie and Mickey.

"Oh that's just what I need. Don't you dare make this place domestic." The Doctor could not sound more horrified over the word domestic if he tried.

I chuckled, walking up to the console and marvelling at the inside. "She's gorgeous Doctor. Loving the design." I said, getting a grin from Rose and the Doctor.

The relaxed atmosphere was soon broken by Mickey. "You ruined my life, Doctor! They thought she was dead, I was a murder suspect because of you!"

"See what I mean, domestic!" the Doctor muttered to Rose, still focused on the screen in front of him.

"I bet you don't even remember my name!" Mickey said, walking up to the Doctor.

"Rickey." the Doctor said confidently, turning and levelling a distinctly unimpressed look at Mickey.

"It's Mickey." Mickey retorted.

"No it's Rickey." the Doctor said, as if trying to convince Mickey that his name changed without his knowledge.

"I think I know my own name!" Mickey said, getting annoyed now.

"You think you know your own name, how stupid are you?" The Doctor said, getting a snort of laughter from me. I always loved this scene and to see it happen in real life was a wish come true.

Jackie had been slowly backing away during this back and forth, and finally turned around and bolted out the doors.

"Mum, Don't!" Rose said, getting ready to rush off after her. "Don't go anywhere, don't start a fight. Tony, watch out for these two yea?" She said, looking at the Doctor, Mickey and me respectively.

I gave a thumbs up, enjoying the show.

She was back in the TARDIS within 30 seconds anyway, just long enough for the Doctor to smile and turn back around to focus on the screen.

"That was a real spaceship?!?" Rose muttered to the Doctor.

"Yep." He said, while I came round to the other side of him.

"So it's all a pack of lies? What is it then, are they invading?" Rose asked.

Mickey came up from behind, peering at the screen. "Funny way to invade, putting the planet on Red Alert."

The Doctor looked reluctantly impressed that Mickey had said something intelligent. "Good point, so what are they up to?"

"So what you doing down there?" Mickey asked the Doctor. The Doctor had had an idea and decided to try and make the screen show the tracking of the ship that had crashed.

"Rickey-" The Doctor started before being interrupted.

"It's Mickey." Mickey said, sneering down at the Doctor.

The Doctor looked remarkably unaffected. "Rickey. If I was to tell you what I was doing to my, frankly, magnificent time ship, would you even begin to understand?"

Mickey looked embarrassed. "I suppose not."

"So shut it then." The Doctor said cheerily.

Mickey moved off to go talk to Rose while I moved to sit next to the Doctor.

"Considering one of us is called the Engineer shouldn't I be doing that and you be handing out plasters?" I said teasingly, getting a laugh out of the Time Lord below.

"How good are you at fixing TARDISes?" He asked. I scoffed.

"You're talking to the chief engineer. I was the one who dealt with the most war torn TARDISes off the front line. I think I know my way around a beaten up type 40." I said proudly.

The Doctor chuckled. "If you manage to fix three things wrong with my TARDIS, then I'll have to kidnap you and take you with me."

Before I could say anything, a quest popped up.

Quest received!

Fix three things that are broken or are damaged onboard the Doctor's TARDIS.

Reward: Offer to join the Tardis Crew, plus REP points with the Doctor and the TARDIS.

Bonus Objectives available!

"You're on, Doctor."

I decided to start from the console. Immediately finding a broken lever. I decided to use Observe on it.

Emergency Brake (Broken)

This lever causes an emergency stop for THE TARDIS.

Requires: Level 75 Engineering.

I had never fixed something this high level, but the instant I moved towards it to try, it was like an instinct to flick switches and press buttons, diverting the slightest amount of power to flow back to the lever.

Emergency Brake (75% remaining until breakdown)

I figured I wouldn't be able to hit 100% unless I used tools which I didn't have. I'd have to wait until I got the tools required for it to be perfect but for now it was fine.

I continued my way around the console in a mad fixing craze, fixing the Thermo-Regulator, the Brakes, the Stabilisers and the Speakers.

By the time I was done with the speakers, the Doctor had just popped his head out.

"How'd you do then?" He asked.

"I got five different functions fixed and honestly I'm surprised you were only a year late dropping Rose off." I said. I honestly was too, there were so many things either broken or just about to break. I could only figure that the TARDIS took control herself during the important stuff and ensured the Doctor got to where he needed to be.

The Doctor scoffed and looked at the console, only to be surprised when I pointed out the things I had fixed.

"…….right so that threat of kidnapping just became real." The Doctor muttered, getting a laugh from me.

"Is it really kidnapping if I'm consenting to the kidnapping?" I asked, getting a chuckle from the Doctor this time.

Quest Completed!

Fix three things that are broken onboard the Doctor's TARDIS.

Reward: Plus 10 REP with the Doctor. Plus 10 REP with the TARDIS, Offer to join the TARDIS Crew.

Bonus Objectives: Fix four things that are broken onboard the Doctor's TARDIS. Complete.

Fix five things that are broken onboard the Doctor's TARDIS.

Complete.

Bonus Rewards: Plus 25 REP with TARDIS.

TARDIS toolbox. (Placed in Inventory.)

I was quite happy to get positive REP with the TARDIS. She was the most powerful ship in the universe and I did not want to get on the wrong side of her.

"You got the radar working then?" I asked him, getting a nod. Rose and Mickey heard me, both wandering over to stand near the screen.

"Fixed the radar, looped it back 12 hours so it would follow the flight of the crashed spaceship and we have got … hold on." He

smacked the screen, getting it to flicker and show the flight path.

We could all see the spaceship slingshot around the Earth. It came up from one of the oceans and came back down London.

"Whoever those aliens are, they haven't just landed, they've been here a while, question is, where have they been and why?"

The Doctor, Rose and Mickey were watching the news, wanting more information. Meanwhile I was on the Help screen, curious as to why I hadn't got any EXP even though I have done two quests already.

HELP

EXP GAIN

Experience Points (EXP) Can only be gained from saving sentient life forms or killing enemies.

Saving a life grants you REP points with that person and their family (unless they wished to die, then there will be negative REP points, though still positive REP points with the family.)

Killing enemies grants you Notoriety Points.

Notoriety Points adds to your REP across a species. For example The Doctor is labelled The Predator to the Daleks, an example of MAX Negative Notoriety.

Makes sense. I closed the screen and came up to the screen just as U.N.I.T. came up on screen.

"UNIT, United Nations Intelligence Taskforce, they're good people." The Doctor said, eyes scanning the faces.

"How'd you know them?" Rose asked.

Mickey piped up, eyes focused on the Doctor. "Cause he's worked for them. Don't think I've sat lazing around all year Doctor, ive been reading up on you. You look in the history books and there he is. Followed by a list of the dead."

The Doctor could not look less bothered if he tried. "That's nice, good job Rickey." I aspire to reach that level of badass.

"If you know them aren't you gonna go help them?" Rose asked.

The Doctor shook his head. "Wouldn't recognise me, I've changed a lot since the old days. Besides the world is on a knife edge because of the aliens, we want to keep THIS alien," He pointed to himself. "Out of the mix."

"Wonder if they've got any files on me?" I remarked, still looking at the screen.

"Probably not, you haven't visited before and you were human till about an hour ago." The Doctor said.

I nodded, it made sense. The Doctor went around the console. "Gonna go undercover, want to keep the TARDIS out of sight, Rickey, you can do some driving."

"Where to!?!" Mickey asked, all of us getting ready to head out.

"The roads are clearing, let's go have a look at that spaceship." The Doctor said, opening the doors.

Before we could even take two steps out of the TARDIS, a helicopter shone their light on us, practically blinding us.

"DO NOT MOVE!" The army shouted, surrounding us on all sides.

Mickey took a chance and dashed away, hiding behind some bins before the soldiers caught up to us.

The Doctor grinned and put his hands up in surrender, Rose and I following suit. "Take me to your leader!" The Doctor shouted up to the helicopter.

I sighed and shook my head. "How long have you been waiting to say that?" I asked him, only getting another wink and a smile.

All three of us were bustled into a police car. I was squished between Rose and the Doctor.

"If I knew being arrested was like this I'd have done it years ago." Rose remarked, getting comfy on the nice seats.

"We aren't being arrested, we're being escorted." The Doctor assured her.

"To where?" She asked, leaning around me to look at the Doctor.

"Where'd ya think, Downing Street." He said.

"You're kidding." Rose said, disbelief evident on her face and in her voice.

"Nope!" He exclaimed, grinning from ear to ear.

"10 DOWNING STREET!?!" Poor Rose couldn't sound more shocked if she tried. I could understand why, she had spent her life down in a council estate, and now she was going to the Prime Minister's house itself.

"Yep!" The Doctor said, still grinning. It was obvious he was excited to see what was happening and he was in his element.

"Why?" I asked, deciding I had been quiet for too long and not wanting to be a third wheel already.

"I've visited a lot over the years and been, er, noticed a fair few times." The Doctor muttered, ears going red in slight embarrassment.

"And now they need you." Rose said, leaning back in her seat, satisfied now that she knew what was going on.

"Gathering experts on alien knowledge and who's the best at that?" The Doctor asked.

"Patrick Moore?" Rose teased.

"Apart from him." The Doctor muttered, ears going red again but still a smile on his face.

"You are loving this!" Rose said happily, getting her excitement back.

"I'm telling you, Lloyd Bush, he could drink me under the table." He exclaimed. "Wonder who's prime minister now." He muttered.

"How should I know, I missed a year." Rose said, before both of them turned to me, eyebrows raised in sync.

"Oh I'm not brave enough for politics. Give me a wrench and a broken ship and I'm happy." I said, laughing at their faces. It was true, I was happiest when fixing something, I also didn't know who the actual prime minister was right now, only knowing they had been killed already.

If my memory was right, a man named Joseph Green was declared Acting Prime Minister, but he was secretly a Slitheen in disguise. I was hopeful in my ability to save the experts though, if I managed to convince the Doctor to tell them to take off the ID cards, then I could also save Indra Ganesh, the secretary that Margaret killed.

The car pulled up to number 10, with a whole crowd of journalists surrounding us. Rose looked fascinated, turning her head this way and that, trying to capture the moment going on all around her. The Doctor just strode up to the door, as if this was just a regular day, which to him it could very well be.

I took a leaf from both books, looking around at the journalists but striding quickly so I could walk next to the Doctor.

We ended up in front of the conference room, where Indra was handing out ID cards. I decided to use Observe on them so I could get a hint as to how to stop the deaths.

ID CARD (WARNING. TRAPPED!)

A plastic card which allows others to know your name and profession. (Warning! Electric shock detected! Fatal to humans. Damaging to Time Lords!)

Fatal electric shock. I had an idea or two about how to stop the deaths but I'd have to get my hands on one first.

"Excuse me! I'm afraid only the Doctor can continue on. you two will have to wait in another room." Indra said, stopping us from entering, and handing the Doctor his ID card.

Before the Doctor could grab it I took it first, seemingly looking at it, before passing it to him, keeping hold of the electronic tag on the side of the card.

"Doctor, the cards are trapped. Warn the experts already in the room so they can live through this." I whispered in Gallifreyan to the Doctor. He stiffened slightly, eyes hardening before relaxing, seeming to be back to his happy go lucky self. I nodded to myself, happy he got the message.

I could see Rose wasn't happy about being forced to wait outside, so I tapped her hand and shook my head slightly when she turned to look at me. Rose glared slightly but nodded, taking a step back just in time for a woman to come hurrying over to the Doctor.

"Excuse me, are you the Doctor? I need to speak to you." The woman, Harriet Jones said. She looked panicked, obviously still in shock from seeing the Slitheens from before.

"Harriet, I've already told you! You can't be here!" Indra said, looking very flustered. I decided to step in.

"It's alright sir, I'll take these two lovely ladies and we can go sit in a waiting room for our friend to be finished?" I said, reaching an arm around Rose's shoulder, both of us looking like the picture of innocence.

Before Indra could say anything though, a screen popped up in front of me and time seemed to stop around me

QUEST Received!

Stop the Slitheen from destroying the planet!

Reward: Earth saved, Plus 10 REP with The Doctor, Rose Tyler, U.N.I.T., Plus 1 Notoriety Point(s) with Humanity.

Bonus Objectives Available!

Well that's nice, not much REP gain but saving the Earth is a nice reward. I wonder what the bonus objectives are…

I pressed the YES button and time resumed, with noone any the wiser.

"Very well, very well. Harriet can show you to the waiting room." Indra said.

"Doctor!" I said, getting his attention along with Harriet, who had been trying to sneak in.

"Try not to shock them too much." I said leadingly, flashing him the electric tag I took off his ID card so he knew what to warn the experts about.

The Doctor nodded, eyes flashing with respect I think.

Plus 5 REP with The Doctor for coming up with a plan!

Seems it was respect. I nodded back and led the two women into a room where I was reasonably sure the Prime Minister's body was.

"Do you two know the Doctor!?!" Harriet demanded, looking frazzled and scared. This was her first encounter with alien life, she wasn't yet the woman who could stare down a Dalek death squad without flinching.

"Yes miss, we know him. Are you okay?" I ask her kindly, Rose taking a look around the room.

Harriet practically collapsed sobbing into my arms, obviously relieved she had found someone she could trust.

Plus 30 REP with Harriet Jones for being an ally of the Doctor.

Harriet started explaining what had happened, even showing a skin suit one of the Slitheen had used. It was honestly quite disgusting, not looking like a costume like on the show, this was just a vacant body, as if the skeleton had been deleted and all that was left was the skin.

"This is weird technology. Reckon we can use it?" Rose asked me, seeming to count on my knowledge.

"This is unique to the aliens, I think. They kill a being and seem to … compress themselves into the skin suit left behind. I remember the planet's name they come from but I can't bloody remember the actual aliens name." I said, hiding the fact I did know the alien but giving enough knowledge so that I didn't have to risk Jackie and Mickey later on. I didn't know if my presence here had changed things enough for the Slitheen to kill them quickly instead of prolonging the hunt.

I decided to use Observe on Harriet, I wanted it to level up enough to see through filters and disguises and the only way to upgrade it was constant use on new people and things.

Nice even spread of stats, apart from Strength, Vitality and Dexterity, although that was easily explained by her advanced age.

Rose had kept busy and walked around the room again, peeking into cabinets. She opened a wardrobe at the end of the room and shrieked suddenly, as a body fell out of it.

"Oh my God! Who's that?" Rose shouted, getting the attention of Harriet and I, interrupting Harriet's muttering about the emergency protocols.

"Harriet you can't be in here – good god that's the Prime Minister!" We heard. We spun around to see Indra was gawking at the dead body.

I knew Margaret would be following in just a minute, so I waved Indra closer so he wouldn't get his neck snapped. The more people I save, the less guilt for me and the Doctor.

"Oh? Has someone been naughty?" A sickly sweet voice said. We all looked at the open door, where Margaret was standing. She was grinning like a cat that was about to catch a fat bird.

While Indra asked what was going on I was frantically looking around and through my Inventory for something to use to distract her. I ran out of time, Margaret pulling the zipper across her forehead, bathing the room in a bright blue glow.

It was disgusting watching the show when they exited the skin suits, and it was even more so watching it in real life. I managed to grab Indra and shoved him behind me, leaving me in front. I had only just realised then how close I was to the alien.

Before I could do anything, Margaret had managed to fully exit the skin suit and grabbed me by the neck, slamming me against the wall.

200 HP LOST

700 HP REMAINING

Well ain't that fun.

Rose, Harriet and Indra were panicking and I was starting to fall unconscious due to Margaret squeezing my throat closed.

RESPIRATORY BYPASS SYSTEM ACTIVATED. 4 MINUTES REMAINING UNTIL UNCONSCIOUS.

I wanted to breathe a sigh of relief. Margaret was taunting us all while raising another clawed hand to swipe at the other three while I couldn't do anything to stop it.

Come on Doctor, where are you?
