Chapter Twelve: "A Trip to Obsidian"

Bloom groaned as she lifted herself upwards. Her entire body was a wreck. All of her muscle were sore. At the very least, her thigh had no longer burned like before which had been unbearable. She glanced at Teredor to see that he was tearing the fabric from his attire.

The redhead fairy furrowed her brows in confusion.

"You need to wrap this around your thigh Bloom. You can't risk another infection," Teredor said, handing her the piece of fabric. Bloom had been hesitant at first, but with the look he'd given her, she had took it and gently wrapped it around her exposed injury.

"I owe you my life Teredor. If you hadn't used my fairy dust, I'd probably been dead by now. Thank you so much," Bloom's eyes had traveled to his injured arm. She grabbed her fairy dust bottle.

"Please allow me to pour my fairy dust on your arm. It's the very least I could do."

Teredor watched as the girl spilled fairy dust directly on his cut. He watched the dust take its effect, as his skin slowly mended back together.

The stained blood was gone as well as the agonizing pain. It healed much quicker than Bloom's injury, but then again, it was Valtor who had managed to inflict that injury upon him. Not Mandragora.

Damn them both to Shadow Haunt!

"Thank you Bloom."

"It's no problem."

Bloom squinted her eyes to see that rocks had surrounded them all.

Piles of them had shaped some kind of formation of large mountains. The girl shuddered feeling the intense cold ground due to her bare feet. She had tried to conjure a warmth spell, but nothing happened despite the silence and complete concentration. Bloom knew her magic wasn't working properly.

"My magic. . . it isn't working," Bloom admitted much to her own horror. Her lips trembling in fear. She couldn't even conjure a simple spell. Nothing. What made her worried was over the fact that her powers were the very source of the Magical Universe. The Inextinguishable Dragon Flame. And yet, she couldn't produce a flickering flame.

Bloom felt as if her entire body was drained from magic just due to being trapped in this place.

"I thought it was just me. But this place, I'm starting to believe, is overwhelming with negative energy, making our magic nonexistent," Teredor observed.

Bloom had twitched her wings. She hovered over the ground, despite being somewhat exhausted, which was preferable to walking on her bare feet.

The fairy had flinched as the dark magic washed over her.

The witches magic still lingered around them.

Bloom had winced upon her memories.

She had remembered everything. Every single detail of her life. The Ancestral Witches had torn right through the barrier, which had seemed almost impossible to Bloom. It'd hurt mentally and physically.

Teredor had reminded Bloom of Aisha with his quick analytic skills, knowledge, and resourcefulness he displayed. All those memories swimming in her mind caused her much heartache over certain things. Not to mention the guilt that was slowly consuming her from the inside. Bloom was friends with her parents' friends' children. In a way, it felt completely awkward.

The girl turned her face to Teredor as she fiddled with the strands of her red hair. Overwhelming guilt had sparked in her blue eyes. She couldn't help but feel responsible for everything that's about to happen. They had plunged into her deep, secretive memories that may change the fabric of space and time for the worse.

Why had her life had to be so complicated?

"Is everything alright, Bloom?" Teredor asked.

Bloom had let out a heavy sigh.

She wasn't too sure.

Everything was messed up.

Hesitation flickered in her blue eyes. She had wanted to tell him everything before it was too late or before the Ancestral Witches had took advantage of her memories and use it against the magical universe and it would be entirely her fault.

"Well not really." Bloom glanced at the specialist, sadness shinning in her eyes. "I remember all my memories."

"What? You remember them now? That sounds concerning," Teredor spoke carefully.

"They tore right through my mind, grasping at my every memories for information." Bloom's shoulder slumped and she couldn't help but gaze elsewhere, not at Teredor.

She could feel the heavy weight of the situation dump right on her shoulders. It was something that had bothered her to no end. The witches had wanted to make sure that she was suffering under their hands.

Teredor's olive green eyes had gone wide.

"You met them face-to-face?"

Bloom nodded. "Well, Mandragora brought me to them before I slipped into unconsciousness. I felt their dark magic tearing right through my mind and I knew what they were doing but I couldn't do anything about it. I was weak. It was terrifying."

Teredor shuddered horrifyingly.

If the Ancestral Witches were in this realm. . .then he could easily guess as to where he and Bloom were trapped in. It was the witches' birth realm. The realm of nightmares and demons. A place that had drained all source of magic.

"I think I know where we are with the details you'd given me."

"Where?" Bloom raised a curious brow.

"This is the realm of Obsidian." Teredor turned his hands into fist balls. The prince should've know where that damned woman had taken him. How in the Great Dragon had he not picked up on it? "The Ancestral Witches' birth place."

"What?" Bloom had lost all coloring on her face.

No wonder why they had lingered all around in this place.

She could sense their dark presence. Were they personally sending Mandragora and Valtor off because they couldn't leave—that they were trapped here as well. It'd explained everything.

"Since your memories are back, I'm sure you aware of the realm of Obsidian? Everyone is told of story when they're young children?" Teredor asked.

If that were only true. Bloom couldn't help but smile weakly at that.

She never heard of Obsidian from before in all the three years she had been at Alfea.

The headmistress had never brought up such a place. Bloom's eyes had gone wide in realization. Perhaps that was where her parents were trapped in for all these years in her own timeline?

A place that no one could reach by magic. It'd made sense, if that were the case.

The fairy closed her eyes as she let out a wary sigh.

"It seems you have a lot on your mind Bloom," he noted.

"I actually do and it's concerning. They've gone through all my memories and now the witches might use whatever information to their advantage and destroy everything in their paths."

Bloom couldn't glance at the specialist, suffice to say, she was ashamed. She should've fought back their dark magic and stayed strong, but no, she had easily crumbled. It was all her fault that they gained access to her memories that they might very well destroy the universe. She had flinched in horror.

"Mandragora poisoned you. Her creatures alone are dangerous and the Ancestral Witches, they'd mentally tortured you to grab whatever they deemed was necessary." Teredor said cautiously. "Perhaps we should rest. I think you need it."

Guilt had rose up to her throat.

In a way, Bloom felt as if she were being suffocated by the painful memories.

"Actually I have a confession to make, Teredor. I never did grow up in the Magical Dimension, Domino, and worse of all, I never knew my parents Oritel and Marion. I grew up on Earth under the care of adoptive for sixteen years before I met Stella. . ."

Bloom reminisced on her memories, tears overflowing her eyes. Her heart ached for too much for this world. The amazing splendid days she had enjoyed with her friends as she yearned to be with and the dark days that she had faced that left her feeling utterly numb from the inside.

"What?" Teredor whispered faintly.

His tone of voice had come off rather startled by the news. Bloom had shuddered painfully, as she wrapped her arms around herself, trying to comfort herself.

"What happened? Did they. . ."

Bloom had managed to summon a small flickering flame to give both him and herself a bit of warmth in the cold, dark realm. She caught a glimpse of Teredor's expression. It was a mixture of both horror and anger.

The fairy had let out a sigh, watching the small smoldering embers of the flames burn into the darkness that had surrounded them.

"It all started when I was sixteen. . ." Bloom begun, her voice had sounded shaky.

The fairy retold the entire tale of her life. Of how she came across Stella on a breezy summer day in the Gardenia and had discovered her magic which had led her to discover the entire existence of the Magic Dimension.

Marion had paced back and forth, in worry, fear, frustration, and sadness in front of the manner waiting for her friends to appear. All these emotions had raced through her very soul upon the thought of her daughter being trapped in the realm of Obsidian.

The place of pure horror and nightmares!

It could render a fairy utterly helpless as Obsidian would drain a fairy from her powers. And sometimes, in rare cases, it would destroy a fairy's will and strength to nonexistence. Bloom could very much die there!

Her heart was utterly torn to pieces.

Spending time with her daughter was possibly one of the greatest things to happen to her. Seeing Bloom's beautiful face smile at her. Laughing at trivial jokes that Luna made. Or enjoying the nice tea session plus conversation with Niobe or the latest gossip with Samara.

Marion couldn't help but smile at those warm memories.

Her daughter was just too precious for this world's cruelty.

Bloom wasn't the only person had faced Mandragora and had disappeared with her. Teredor and Radius as well. It was as if that damned woman had been snatching those of who are important to the realm itself.

There was no doubt that royal heirs were powerful, something that had drove the forces of evils into holding them captive, against their wills, in order to get some sort of information in exchange. It was utterly despicable!

They were after something huge! Something with great power. It had hit her! Of course! They had wanted to achieve the Codex and what better way to do this was by doing a simple trade with the royal families in exchange for absolute power.

She glanced at her cellphone to read the messages of Niobe and Luna. They were coming along with her and Oritel knowing that Teredor and Radius might be trapped in Obsidian as well. Mandragora had gotten to them as well and she was so close to capturing Oritel if it hadn't been for Bloom's interference.

A bright flash of sliver light appeared, catching Marion's attention as she turned on her heels to see Niobe and Luna in tow, in complete distress over their fiancés being kidnapped by the damned witch.

"Luna!"

"Niobe!"

Marion had rushed over to the girls.

"That viel woman took him, Marion!" Luna sobbed hysterically. "She's despicable! If what you say is true, we have to rescue them from Obsidian!"

The redhead fairy placed her hands on Luna's shoulder as she glanced at the distressed blond firmly.

"We will save them Luna!"

Marion and Luna gazed at Niobe who seemed to be lost in her own thoughts while glancing at the last message that Teredor had sent. It had put her on edge.

"Is everything alright, Niobe?" Marion said concernedly.

The brown-haired girl had turned to Luna and Marion with a worried look plastered across her face. She couldn't help but feel as if something was very off about everything that was going on around them. And Teredor was trying to warn her about it. But Niobe couldn't figure it out.

"Look at what Teredor sent me. It's some kind of warning, but I'm not sure who he's referring to," Niobe frowned, wishing that she could grasp at his words, who Teredor was trying to imply.

Don't trus

"Don't trust, who?" Luna questioned, lifting a brow.

Marion was puzzled as much as Niobe.

"I don't know. It was the last thing I'd received from him before Mandragora got to him."

"I think we better keep our guards up."

Marion couldn't help but itch at the thought of Remesu enter her mind. For some reason, she had an inkling at to what Teredor was grasping at. He must've seen the picture as well.

The redhead fairy couldn't help but place her finger on it. There was something about the wizard that had always seemed off to her and Marion was more than determined to discover his hidden secret. Yes. She was a very protective mother of Bloom. Something was off and she felt it in her very bones.

Tears had slid down her pale face as the girl came to an end with her tale that had left her feeling utterly numb and her heart simply ached to no end. She couldn't even lift her face up. It was all too much for her mind to bear. The endless struggles of being the guardian fairy of the Dragon Flame.

Bloom had wrapped her arms around herself—finding comfort within her—almost feeling as if she were lost and alone within this very world.

She could feel the burden weigh heavily on her. Her gaze had focused on the pebbles that she played with.

The silence that had grown between the two was intense.

Teredor had pondered in the girl's story. He could make out the sorrowful expression that flittered across Bloom's face in the dim light. He could tell she was in a great deal of heartache. He wasn't sure if he could handle being in her position.

To lose everything like that was just unbearable and unimaginable.

It was tragic, not only for Bloom, but for her parents, family, her realm, her people. Damn. The Androsian Prince hadn't assumed that the war would get this dangerous and dark. Not only that, but the things that Bloom had endured as she was introduced to the magical world was simply horrifying.

Having her magic stolen by three insane witches who happened to be related to the Ancestral Witches was maddening. Or being turned into a dark version of herself under Lord Darkar's spell. . . the bastard. . . he was a creepy being in lusting after young fairies. He felt sick to his stomach.

It was disturbing. And the things that Lord Darkar had put his own future daughter Aisha through had made his blood boil. And Valtor stealing spells all across the magical universe.

The damned bastard had stolen the second sun of Solaria, having turned the mermaids into dark siren creatures and nearly destroying Andros in the process of becoming one of the most powerful darkest wizards of all time. He tortured everyone under his hands.

Domino was destroyed in the future with no survivors, but Bloom.

Oritel and Marion were gone, as their own daughter had grown up in a magicless world called Earth for sixteen years unaware of her true destiny. Ouch. That was defiantly going to crush Marion's fragile soul and possibly send Oritel into a fit of rage and an over protective father mode.

It seemed to him that the current evil that was going on in the magical universe wasn't going to die anytime soon.

In the midst of all things, the girl was trapped in a timeline in which she had yet to exist.

Teredor had found it rather difficult to believe it as he cursed under his breath. Perhaps Radius' idea was brilliant after all. The future was easily shiftable, as it wasn't set in stone yet except for certain things that was bound to happen.

The prince had gazed at Bloom softly, yet pity had swelled in his heart over the girl who was curled into a fetal position, in heavy sorrowful tears. In a way, all of her strength and will have seemed to shatter.

"Bloom, we need to find our way out of here. Obsidian has overwhelming amount of negative energy and it's beginning to effect you," Teredor said.

The girl barely turned her head.

She didn't even want to move from her spot. She was done for. Or at least, it's what she had felt like. Bloom had no longer had the urge to fight back. Everything was just too much for her to handle! She wasn't as strong as what everyone had believed of her to be.

Her friends, Sky, the Specialists, and Faragonda had thought she was so brave and with her powers revolving around the Dragon Flame that nothing would effect her. But they were all wrong. Deep down inside of herself, she always felt afraid of the dark forces.

Everything weighed heavily on her and Bloom didn't want that anymore.

The burden of being the guardian fairy of the Dragon Flame was just too much at times. Sometimes, secretly to herself, she had resented being the keeper of the legendary, powerful magic that almost every dark villains seemed to be after.

Bloom felt as if she were alone now and that terrified her more than anything in the entire universe.

"I can't. . . I can't fight back. They're too strong," Bloom admitted, choking on a sob.

The fairy couldn't handle much of their torment. They had made her relive the unpleasant memories she had faced throughout her years at Alfea. It was agony. The witches had cackled in delight upon seeing her cry in desperation, begging of them to stop. She felt utterly powerless, something she had never experienced from before.

"You can't give up now, Bloom, not so easily. You've got to have hope," Teredor urged the girl who seemed to be losing all hope to the darkness that had surrounded them all.

"I don't know, Teredor. I'm not strong as everyone thinks I am. I'm scared all the time. I'm scared now."

Bloom closed her eyes in defeat, allowing the darkness to swallow her whole entirely.

"Do not doubt of what you're capable of Bloom. Do not doubt the flame that burns inside you, little sister. There's a reason why you're the Guardian of the Dragon Flame and not anyone else. You are so special." Daphne's voice echoed in the back of her mind.

Bloom winced at her sister's words of wisdom.

If only Daphne knew how wrong she was.

Bloom wasn't special in any way and nor could she find a reason why she right fairy for being the Guardian of the Flame not when Bloom had failed so many times. Allowing her magic to be stolen by the Trix or allowing Darkar to put her under a dark spell causing her to become Dark Bloom. Or Valtor who nearly succeeded in destroying the last heir to Domino's throne.

She was a complete failure.

"Don't doubt yourself. You—we—can all surpass this great evil if we don't allow them to break our will and hope," the prince had tried to reassure the girl who seemed to be walloping in her own fears and utter despair.

Bloom had wanted to say something but was stopped upon spotting a bright golden flash of light. Even Teredor had turned to the bright source to see a man rushing towards them.

Teredor had drew out his sword to defend himself and to protect the girl. He narrowed his eyes at the unknown figure, as his hands tightened on the blade. The light slowly diminishing, revealing to be no other than the Solarian Prince.

"Radius?" Teredor said, completely startled by his friend's appearance.

"Teredor? How? Let me guess, Mandragora?" Radius spoke flatly. The man was annoyed by the damned witch.

"No. It was Valtor. He was in disguise the entire time," Teredor twisted his lips in utter disgust.

Radius' hazel eyes had widened. Appalled. "What do you mean? In disguise as who?"

"He was in disguise as Remesu," Teredor seethed.

"What?" Radius spluttered in outrage. "You mean to tell me that he's been posing as an innocent man this entire time and getting close to all of us? Do you know how much information the bastard had gotten and might potentially use against us, all? Fuck. What in the damn hell are we going now?"

"We need to find a way to escape Obsidian," Teredor spoke, running his fingers through his long hair frustratedly.

Radius blinked his eyes a couple of times, allowing the word to sink into his mind.

"We're in Obsidian? How do you know that?"

"From Bloom's descriptions. Mandragora had personally delivered her to the Ancestral Witches. They had torn right through her memories, grasping at valuable information," Teredor explained.

"Shit." Radius closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose completely infuriated. Dragons. Being trapped in Obsidian was one of the things that hadn't crossed his mind. It had made sense.

The overwhelming amount of negative energy flowing within this realm, the unexplained dreadfulness, feeling the sense of loss, helplessness and hopelessness. And worse of all the terrible nightmares he endured.

Obsidian was a place that was impossible to escape without having any sorts of connection with the outside world. If anything, they could be trapped here for all eternity and no one would know their exact location.

The Solarian prince had frowned deeply. "I didn't mean to pry into the conversation, but I did hear everything."

Radius and Teredor turned their attention back onto the girl who was whimpering, both feeling utterly sorry towards Bloom who was suffering under the hands of the three ancient witches. They were a bane to her existence as well as everyone else.

Radius paced back and forth, deep in thought. "Well there is a way to leave Obsidian, a gateway, but a key is needed otherwise. . ."

"We'll remain trapped here and, since she's here, I already have a hunch that Oritel is out on the search for Bloom."

A loud, vicious growl pierced through the silent area, as its crimson eyes blazed through the darkness, indicating that they weren't alone. That they were being watched by dark creatures.

"We need to get the move on."

Radius glanced at the girl who was passed out and grimaced.

Bloom had to get out of Obsidian before it would take a heavy toll on her mental state and physical being. He lifted the unconscious fairy into his arms. Seeing her wincing expression on her face, he felt bad for her. She had been exposed to plenty of traumatic violence from insane villains.

The girls were in the Owl, as they flew directly to Magix, to the heart of Pixie Village which was in a secret location within the forest that remained to be untouched by the monsters and dark creatures that have seemed to overran Magix and the three magical schools.

The weather was dark and gloomy.

Luna, Niobe, and Marion had gazed though the window, utterly horrified by the disaster that was going on.

The redhead fairy was utterly worried about her parents back on Domino and Bloom who was trapped in the realm of Obsidian. Her mother and father had promised her that they would be alright.

Adrian had reassured Marion that he would protect their mother from dark witches and wizards at all costs. But still Marion was on edge. Her entire family was in mortal danger and that terrified her more than anything in the entire universe.

Bloom was most likely being tortured by the three Ancestral Witches. Tears slide down her face. She was broken. Nothing could heal her heart, not even Oritel could. The redhead fairy wasn't going to feel any better until Bloom was in her arms again. Her heart throbbed in agnoy.

Alec sat besides his distressed little sister. The wizard couldn't blame her for feeling this way. He was deeply disturbed by what happened to his niece as well. But he had to be strong for Marion.

The man could see the worry shine in her green eyes. He placed his hand on her shoulder, giving her a comforting squeeze that everything will be alright. That they'll stop this madness. This evil that was sweeping the magical universe by storm.

"We'll find her and she'll be safe in your arms again," he whispered.

"I know. It's more about who we're going to face while being in Obsidian and not to mention that place has overwhelming negative energy that might take its toll on us if we stay there too long." Marion explained.

Niobe and Luna had made a face.

That would certainly make things difficult.

"I swear on the Great Dragon, if they hurt my darling sunshine! I will summon all of my mag—"

"I wouldn't say that would be the best action to take Luna. Obsidian drains fairy powers remember? We're not even Enchantix fairies yet." Niobe reminded the moon fairy who drastically pouted before she turned her attention to Marion again. "Since Bloom has a combination of being an Enchantix fairy and the Dragon Flame, my only concern is what if Bloom falls to the pray of darkness?"

Marion swallowed hardly.

This had been another high, crucial concern of hers. In fact, she was fretting on the inside, praying to the Great Dragon that her daughter would be alright—that nothing tragic had happened to her or so Marion only hoped.

She couldn't endure to see her youngest daughter suffering. It would only break her heart even further. Marion was snapped out of her deep thoughts upon hearing Alec's firm voice.

"My suggestion for you girls, is not to rely so much on your magic while there. It almost sounds impossible, but the place radiants of overwhelming negative magic easily draining fairy magic which is why we're going to give you spare magical weapons that would enhance your magic," Alec informed the three fairies.

Luna lifted an eyebrow. "Um that's really swell and all Alec, but we never used weapons from before. I don't know how that will help us."

Alec grinned. "And that's where you're wrong Luna. You see, us Specialist, we're always prepared in advanced wether it'd be magical or combat skills. Radius and Teredor had created something for girls that would help to amplify your magic in dire situations like these."

The three fairies exchanged curious glances.

"Since when did you guys have the time to do something like that?" Luna asked, her brows furrowed in puzzlement.

"We always have the time. Luna, theses magical orbs would help strengthen your moonlight powers especially if your surrounded by darkness. Niobe, Teredor had created a staff that would allow you to use your morphix more fluidly and it enhances its elasticity.

And finally for you little sis, Oritel said you were interested in swords and so he created one that would intensify your flames and the blade itself is made out of shatterproof materials. It can slice through anything even metal."

Alec handed each of the girls their own weapons that the Specialists had created for them.

"So you guys made this all on your own? Color me impressed," Luna beamed, as she admired the deep blue orbs as the girl could already feel the strong magic connect with her own.

"Well, we hadn't done it entirely on our own. But of course we had help from Hagen the Swordsmith. You know he's pretty famous for his abilities to create powerful weapons," the blond-haired wizard beamed. "And Oritel did create something for Bloom that would channel her Dragon's Flame in an effective manner."

Marion gazed at her bother with a soft smile. Oritel, he was so generous and kind-hearted man. It's one of the reasons that she couldn't stay away from him. She loved him from the depth of her heart. Staying away from the Crown Prince of Domino was agony. Torture. Even.

Though she wouldn't say any of those things in front of her brother. Alec had the tendency of being an overprotective brother and sometimes he could be extremely annoying and overbearing for that matter.

Remesu and Oritel had stepped into the Owl with wide grins plastered on their faces.

"What took you guys so long?" Luna asked.

"It wasn't easy finding the Pixie Queen. They were all hiding in secrecy." Remesu said, rather annoyed for losing quite a bit of time. He had let out a heavy sigh. At least he and Oritel had gotten what they had needed.

"We've got the Obsidian key." Oritel approached Marion and two fairies. "We will find them and save them from their clutches. It's not going to be a walk in the woods."

The fairies trio gave a nod. They knew exactly what they were doing and this wasn't going to be an easy path to take. But utter fierce and determination had ignited in their eyes. The damned witch was going pay the damned hell for putting their loved ones in mortal danger.

Lewis had adjusted the map towards Obsidian which was beyond the boarders of the Magical Universe. Remesu, Oritel, and Alec had gone back to their seats as they had started the ship on to their precise destination.

Mama's coming to save you Bloom. Please hold on darling for me and your father.
