Chapter Fourteen: "Hope Dazzling From Within"

Marion had shielded her eyes from the intense brightness that had surrounded Remesu and Bloom.

The girl couldn't help but wince upon hearing her daughter's piercing scream. It was agony. She prayed to the Great Dragon that the spell in which Remesu was using over Bloom would break her free from the darkness.

Seeing Bloom in her dark state was horrifying.

Darkar would pay for what he had done to her precious Bloom.

Once the light had faded away, Bloom was unconscious. She was no longer in her dark and cruel form, a result from Darkar's wicked spell. She was back in her bright-colored Enchantix form.

Marion had lost all coloring on her face upon the wizard holding her daughter. She was numb on the inside. Remesu was no longer holding Bloom, but to her own horror it was the dark wizard Valtor. Marion couldn't believe her own eyes.

The pieces had all come to together now.

It'd finally made sense.

Remesu. . . no Valtor was responsible for all this madness that was going on in Obsidian!

The dark wizard had manipulated them all even herself and above all Bloom. Anger filled her chest, realizing how close Valtor was to her daughter and not to mention that he had practically touched and kissed her. It made her gag at the thought of it. The wizard had even claimed he loved Bloom. Cold chills ran down her spine.

After realizing that he was truly the despicable wizard, it made her stomach twist into several knots.

Nothing hurt Marion more than anything was Remesu using Bloom for his own personal agendas. Oritel was right about Remesu. Something had been off about him ever since they had first met him back in the black mud swap. Valtor had been right their noses the entire time!

How dare he!

Marion narrowed her eyes at the blasted wizard.

"Let go of my daughter, now, Valtor!"

In a way, the wizard had nearly flinched due to Marion's aggressive tone of voice. Anger blossomed within her chest. But still as cocky as ever, Valtor had given the fairy a wicked smile. He tightened his hold on Bloom, not planning to let her go anytime soon.

Flames had engulfed all around Marion's body, as the fairy had unleashed all of her power onto the wizard, who instantly conjured a translucent purple barrier. But it had done nothing against Valtor's barrier.

Horror crossed Marion's face.

The fairy had realized that her nightmares were slowly unfolding before her own eyes.

Marion had finally spotted her boyfriend from a distance, meanwhile her brother and Lewis were warding off the creatures of darkness. They were swarmed by several demons and monsters.

Oritel glared at the demon before him, snarling, lunging his sword directly at Darkar which had clashed against his metallic armor. Darkar stared down at the prince with thirst of revenge in his piercing red eyes.

"You think you can defeat me Oritel! You're only exhausting yourself. You'll find that to be impossible in the realm of Obsidian," Lord Darkar crackled in insanity. The shadow prince had towered over the specialist in an unimaginable size—shifting into his dark form. The form of a Phoenix.

The brunet prince had let out a low, but dangerous growl, tightening his grip on the sword—preparing for the wrath of the Phoenix despite being drained from his magic. Determination and fierceness had burned in his eyes. He wasn't going to fail. No. Not again. He had to protect the magical universe, his realm, his friends, and his family no matter what.

An ominous wind had blew past the two fairies who kept fluttering.

Luna and Niobe kept a sharp-eye out for Teredor and Radius, both who were lurking in the shadows. The blond-haired fairy was still furious over realizing that Remesu had manipulated them all for his greater cause.

"Niobe! Watch out!" Luna casted her brightest spell to see that they both lunged themselves directly at them.

Niobe gritted her teeth while glaring at the two men. She had summoned her morphix through the use of her staff that Teredor happened to create for her thus increasing the strength of her magic. She had plastered them to the thrones that were made out of pure stone and bones.

"Thanks Luna! We have to break the spell over them?" Niobe said determinedly.

"And how we're going to do that? They're not going to listen to us," Luna frowned. Her dark blue eyes had fallen on Dark Radius. It had pained her to see him in such a state. Darkar would pay for it dearly.

"We have to calm them down by talking to them before approaching them. If they consider our words we might have the chance to show them all the good memories. Maybe that'll snap them out of Darkar's spell. After all, love conquers all." Niobe explained.

Niobe wasn't going to allow the darkness to take Teredor away from her. She was somewhat terrified, but she had to muster in all of her strength and to be brave. Niobe had to put an end to this. The girl fluttered gently towards Teredor who seemed to have given up, knowing that it was impossible to break through the sturdy morphix that had him glued to the stone.

His dark red eyes glistened as a smirk formed on his lips.

"What do you think you're doing fairy! He's a lost cause. Your beloved is no longer there. He's gone for all eternity."

Niobe had the urge to wipe of the sadistic grin on Dark Teredor's face.

She placed her hands on his face. Niobe stared into his piercing amber eyes and closed her own and begun to concentrate on the happiest memories that she and Teredor had shared together over the past few years together. She wasn't going to allow Darkar to destroy their memories they'd made together. Light had always shone brightly in the dark.

"No matter what, I'll always be at your side Teredor," she whispered softly.

A single tear had rolled down her cheek. The girl pressed her fingers to Teredor's temples, allowing the magic to flow from her finger tips into his mind.

Memories of Teredor had flooded her mind from the moment they had first laid eyes on each other. To having their first laugh together. To their very first kiss. To celebrating their engagement. To all the wonderful moments in both they had shared together, the good and bad days.

"Please don't leave me all alone," Niobe broke into tears, while cupping his cheek with her hand.

The girl had felt the man shift in his place.

She had backed away, giving Teredor some space. She watched as he fought the dark spell that Lord Darkar had placed over her beloved. She watched as the dark smoke of wickedness had rose out of the Androsian Prince as bright light had broke free into the darkness that surrounded them.

Teredor had stirred. The man had opened his eyes, finally realizing he'd regained control of his self. He took in his surroundings to see that he was glued to the throne that was made of bones and stones. Coldness had swept over him.

"Teredor!" a look of relief had washed over Niobe's face. She had instantly fluttered to him. His cold, ruthless amber eyes were no longer but was replaced with utter love, concern, and spark that filled his olive-green eyes once more.

"Niobe, what happened?"

"Darkar." Niobe said flatly.

Teredor snarled.

Of course. It all came back to him.

That demon had the nerve to turn them into dark versions of themselves—forcing them to join the side of pure evil, wickedness, destruction and chaos. Fury burned within his soul. He will damn Lord Darkar to the Oblivion. A worse fate than Obsidian.

A crease appeared between his thick brows, as he glanced at Niobe. Horror plunged his chest.

"Did I do anything to hurt you, love?" he asked carefully.

The fairy had froze. She bit her lips. Niobe hadn't wanted to bring up such a topic. "We can discuss that later Teredor. For now, we have to find our friends and try to get out of Obsidian."

Teredor didn't need to know further details and nodded. Just thinking about it made his stomach twist and turn in all directions. Niobe had helped him onto his feet again. The two had embraced, although it was short lived upon hearing Luna's and Radius' voices from behind them.

Radius had broken free from the wretched curse.

Luna had her arm entangled with Radius, never allowing to the dark side.

"Where's everyone?" Radius asked, noticing it was only them four.

"The last time we saw them was when we were confronting Darkar. But I'm not too sure where they are now," Luna frowned.

"There's a good possibility that they're still facing Darkar." Teredor replied grimly.

Marion had struggled against Valtor. Sweats had spilled from her forehead. Her chest had heaved. The girl was covered in several bruises and deep cuts as the pain seared throughout her entire body. It ached endlessly.

Blood had slid down her pale, skin.

Marion grunted in pure exhaustion.

No matter what she did, or how she tried to overcome the dark wizard, it was almost impossible. Valtor was thriving on the dark magic that filled Obsidian. It was almost as if he predicted her every move. She was completely drained out of her magic. The spells she tried to summon had easily faded into the darkness.

The redhead fairy gazed upwards to see Valtor looming over her, grinning in such satisfaction. The inferno flames had curled around them—separating them for the rest.

Valtor titled his head at the fairy.

"Just give up Marion. You're struggling in vain. Obsidian drains fairies' magic," Valtor said in a smooth tone that was filled with satisfaction. The wizard was having the upper hand with each second he got—relishing it.

Marion's emerald eyes flashed in fury at him. "I will never give up to the likes of you. Never."

Valtor raised an eyebrow in amusement. He couldn't help but just laugh at her ridiculous notion. "Never? I do admit, you're one determined fairy, but also you're very foolish Marion."

The wizard kneeled down before the fairy.

He gently pushed her red bangs aside her face.

"Don't touch me!" Marion spat lividly. The girl had tried to lift herself upwards and move away from him, but she was finding it to be impossible. All of her energy had been drained. She was beyond exhausted. Disgust filled Marion's face.

He was face-to-face, cracking a smirk on his lips.

Valtor yanked Marion's arms and pulled the girl close to him. His pale blue eyes were filled with eagerness about what he was going to show the young fairy. He lifted her chin with his finger. The wizard knew about Bloom's memories. He had personally had awaited this day to arrive. His lips curled into a wicked smile.

Marion's heart was beating rapidly in her chest.

Her emerald eyes had gone wide, as the memories of her daughter entered her mind.

A great deal of utter sadness had washed over Marion in realization of the heavy truth about Bloom's life.

"Oh Marion, I do wonder, what you're going to do now? The way I see it, you're stuck between two painful choices to make between Oritel and Bloom. Do you save the life of your lover or the life of a daughter who doesn't even yet exists?" Valtor crooned softly into Marion's ears. "So who do you choose to save, Marion? The time is ticking."

All coloring had drained from Marion's face. Dizziness had swept over her, upon the realization of the truth. It was all too much for her. She felt as if Valtor was tearing her to pieces.

The fairy had to make the choice between the two people who were most beloved to her. It was almost an impossible choice. Difficult even. Her gaze had fallen on an unconscious Bloom. Bloom was helpless and weak. Marion's heart had contracted painfully. Tears streamed down her face.

Marion bit her lips. Her gaze had shifted onto Oritel who was injured. She could easily see his exposed skin. His armor was torn as blood stained his sleeves. His sword laid on the ground, shattered.

Terror had struck Marion. Her eyes had gone wide.

Instantly without sparing a thought, the girl had fluttered off to Oritel quickly, desperate to save him from Darkar.

Of course, she would save her beloved as he expected. After all it wasn't a tough choice to make. Valtor with his part, curled his lips into a sinister smile. His eyes traveled onto Bloom. She was certainly gorgeous as her mother. The moment he wanted to gently touch her, Valtor was hit with a fire-ball in his lower stomach, sending the wizard tumbling back.

"Don't you dare lay a finger on her!" Alec snarled viciously.

Tears slipped past her tightly closed eyelids and trickled down her cheeks. The girl couldn't risk losing Oritel to Darkar's hands. Otherwise. . . no she didn't want to think of it. She couldn't image a world in which her daughters wouldn't exist. It'd terrified her more than anything in the entire universe.

"No! Oritel!" Marion screamed, as the girl batted her wings at a faster pace. She threw herself in front of the Shadow Phoenix who was lunged himself directly at Oritel with his razor-sharped claws that of a vicious beast.

Oritel's eyes went wide in fear and roared. "Marion! No!"

The brown-haired prince could only watch in horror as Darkar's claws had pierced deeply into Marion's flesh, as the girl let out a high-pitched scream in agony. Darkar slashed his hand across her stomach and threw the fairy across from him onto the cold ground. Blood gushed out of her wound, tainting her green sparkling outfit, as the girl groaned in absolute pain.

Darkar crackled. "You pathetic, girl!"

Oritel had scrambled over to Marion. "Marion! Marion!" Oritel's brown eyes drifted off to exposed wound. His heart had skipped a beat over seeing his beloved in such a state. Her skin had appeared to be very pale. Sweats were forming rapidly on her forehead.

Heartbreak flittered across Oritel's face as he held Marion in his warm arms, despite feeling the stinging sensation in his arm. He didn't care about his own injuries at the moment, but about Marion's. Hers was far worse. He tried to press his hands on her exposed wounds in order to restrict some of the bleeding, but it hadn't done much. In fact, he seemed to have made it worse.

Marion winced upon Oritel's touch on her open wounds.

"You shouldn't have risked your life for me, Marion." Oritel said, hurt was laced in his voice.

Oritel hated the fact that his Marion had endangered her own life for him.

Marion had given him a pained smile. "I couldn't risk losing you to him."

From the corner of her eyes, darkness had managed to sweep its way over to her. She had tried with the best of her ability to stay conscious, but she felt her eyelids grow heavier with each second passing by. Oritel's voice kept fading in and out of her head, but unfortunately as it was, the darkness had overtook her.

"Marion!" Oritel panicked.

He tried so hard to keep the girl awake in his arms, but it was of no use. She had to get out of this wretched place and find healers immediately otherwise she was doomed to die.

Oritel turned his head to see that Bloom was unconscious as well. Alec was engaged in a combat with the bastard of a wizard, Valtor, also wounded due to his limping. Darkar had suddenly vanished into thin air. Oritel grumbled under his breath. If they didn't escape Obsidian soon, then it was certain that they would end up dying in Obsidian.

Perhaps this had been their plan all along. To lure them to a far away place—beyond the Magical Dimension—and to kill them off, one by one, in their most vulnerable state without having to contact anyone from the outside.

Oritel gritted his teeth out of frustration.

He grabbed her hand and gave her a soft squeeze of reassurance.

Tears streamed down Oritel's face. Helplessness was one of the worse feelings he'd ever experienced in his entire life. The feeling of not being able to help the girl of his dreams or his friends or worse of all, his daughter Bloom who was possible on the verge of death. Oritel shuddered.

It was driving him mad.

Suddenly when all sparks of hope was lost, Oritel had felt a powerful tug that was oddly warm. A tingling sensation had washed over him entirely. Oritel glanced to see golden light emerging from Marion's body. The light had morphed all around the unconscious fairy in Oritel's arms in a cocoon-like state.

Oritel wrinkled his brows in utmost confusion.

What was going on with Marion? What was happening to her? Fear had filled Oritel's features as he tightened his grip on Marion, bringing her closer to him despite feeling the warmth spilling from her.

Before he knew it, Marion's vibrant green eyes fluttered wide opened and she gasped for breath.

The girl had groaned, once she had took her breath again. But yet, the throbbing sensation that she felt at her lower stomach was practically gone, as if her own body had decided to mend together again. She blinked her eyes a couple of times.

"Marion! You look positively different!" Oritel was still shocked by the fact that Marion had earned her full-fledged fairy form. "You look similar to Bloom's fairy form."

Marion was wearing a gorgeous green opened dress that revealed a glittering purple bodysuit, with matching purple coils wrapped around her long exposed freckled legs.

Pale yellow gloves with purple beads. Her mother's wings were big in a shape of a butterfly. Her entire skin had seemed to give off a bright, unnatural shimmer. Marion's red hair had seemed to be two shades darker—more vividly dark red with golden streaks as it was pulled into two buns, as soft curls reached down her knees. Bright pale yellow beads were embedded into her thick hair.

Oritel couldn't help but stare in awe. Marion was stunning!

He could feel the blood rush to his cheeks.

"What?" Marion glanced at her own-self to see that she was no longer in her basic Winx form, but her full-fledged fairy form. She had earned her Enchantix. She could feel the power, the magic inside her flow much stronger than before.

"I've earned my Enchantix," she whispered, although the words had reached Oritel's ears.

She could see that Oritel was nodding to her. Her green eyes had drifted off to his wounded arm. She had to heal his arm or otherwise he might up end up getting an infection. Her fairy dust bottle was attached to the collar of her neck in the shape of a beaded butterfly.

"What are you doing?" Oritel asked.

"I need to pour my fairy dust on your arm. It would heal your wounds," Marion explained.

Oritel watched as his beloved Marion had poured the dust carefully on the infected area of his arm. Oritel continued to observe the fairy dust as it had sept into his skin, within the next few minutes, his opened wound had begun to heal—mending back together. The stinging sensation had faded away.

Oritel glanced at his arm, giving it a slight jerk. It was all healed. The pain no longer throbbed. The prince's gaze had fallen on Marion, giving her soft smile. "Thank you Marion for everything."

Marion placed a hand on Oritel's shoulder.

She gave him a warm smile.

"Now is not the time for it, but you were right about Remesu, Oritel. He wasn't who he said he was."

"What do you mean?" Oritel didn't like the sound of that.

He just had a feeling about that wretched wizard. It was most likely a parental instinct that told him to be cautious of Remesu. "Then who was he?" Oritel demanded. His tone of voice became low and dangerous, threatening even.

Marion narrowed her eyes. "Valtor was hiding under our noses the entire time."

Oritel had lost all coloring on his face. He just knew that there was something off about Remesu aka Valtor. Oritel had felt it in his very bones. Remesu had kept getting close to his daughter. He touched her. He even spotted them kissing. Anger had boiled within him. He was beyond furious.

"We need to get Bloom away from him."

Oritel was ripped out of his thoughts and glanced at Marion with a nod.

He will shred the bastard to pieces for manipulating his daughter. What had disgusted him the most were the vulgar things Valtor had uttered to him about Bloom. Marion had given her sword to Oritel as he tightened his grip.

Valtor smirked—blasting Alec to the hard wall.

Marion narrowed her eyes. He was going to pay like hell for everything he's done. Flames had engulfed her palms, as the fairy had unleashed it directly towards Valtor. Marion smiled as it hit him.

The redhead had fluttered down to her unconscious Bloom.

Marion's breathing had slowed down upon seeing her. She could hear her heart beating rapidly in her chest. Blood had decorated Bloom's legs. She winced, realizing that she was the one who caused this upon her daughter.

Her poor child!

Fury burned throughout her entire body.

Marion's vividly emerald eyes were filling with tears as she dropped down besides Bloom, pulling the girl into her warm embrace. They needed to escape Obsidian. There was no way in absolute hell that they could beat Darkar, Valtor, Mandragora and possibly the three Ancestral Witches who were lurking in the darkness.

"Mama's got you. You're safe in my arms, sweetheart," Marion mumbled to herself, feeling utter relief wash over her. She pushed Bloom's red bangs away from her face. The girl could easily see the innocence on her face. Her daughter didn't deserve to be put through agony hell in the future.

It hurt Marion so much to know what kind of life Bloom had in the future. Bloom had been ripped away from her and Oritel. They would never have the chance to raise Bloom or to be her parents. The evil that was currently threatening the universe wasn't going to die anytime soon. No. It would be that same evil that would make her future family suffer for it dearly.

Marion flinched upon feeling a touch on her shoulder.

The girl gazed upwards to see her two friends again. They had looked utterly exhausted. Niobe and Luna had scratches and several bruises and it seemed to Marion that Niobe and Luna had both been drenched in water.

"Niobe! Luna! Are you two alright?" Marion asked concernedly, fear sparked in her eyes.

Th two girls offered Marion a comforting smile.

"In a way—"

"But this place is a hellish nightmare." Niobe finished off.

"You've earned your Enchantix," Luna finally took notice of her best-friend's appearance. "Did your powers increase?"

"It did at first, but now it's weakening."

Luna made a face. "I hate this damned place!"

"Did you break the spell over Radius and Teredor?"

"We did. But it took a painful amount of time to snap them out of it." Niobe scowled, though her teal-blue eyes had fallen on Bloom. "Is she alright?"

Marion frowned deeply as more tears continued to spill down her face. "I don't know! All I know is that she needs to be seen by a healer."

"Hey, don't cry Marion. She'll pull through this. You've gotta have hope," Luna tried to reassure Marion calmly as possible. Marion was in distress and despair. Luna blamed Obsidian. It really did make one go insane and lose all hope.

"If anything Marion, she has yours and Oritel's strength," Niobe added.

"Girls! Girls!" A deep voice hollered out from the distance. A man came rushing over to the fairies. It was Lewis. His grey eyes had drifted onto the princess who was knocked out.

"There isn't much time! We need to escape before the Obsidian's gate close! Once it closes, we'll be trapped here for all eternity!" Horror had ran down Marion's, Luna's and Niobe's spine.

Lewis picked up the redhead princess into his arms, despite being heavily injured. They had to make it to Erendor's ship. Bright light had flooded in the darkness. Strong gush of winds had surrounded the area.

Luna had spotted Radius and the rest of the guys who were rushing to the large spaceship. The girls had fluttered off, trailing behind them.

Once they were all inside the ship. The doors had sealed shut. Luna, Niobe, and Marion had fallen onto their knees in exhaustion. They were beyond being tired. They were panting for breath.

Marion lifted her head to see to her own horror her brother's severe injuries. He could barely stand on his left leg. Alec was using the sword for support. A bright blue cloth was wrapped around his head. She could see the blood stain. He instantly collapsed into the chair behind him.

Niobe and Luna were sitting next to Teredor and Radius who weren't looking good either. Marion scanned for Oritel to only spot him at the far end corner, his arm wrapped around his waist. She could easily tell that he was wounded in that area that was making it utterly difficult for him to simply get up.

Marion couldn't even muster the energy to get up.

She just wanted to lay on the ground. It was easier than getting up.

"Marion."

The redhead girl glanced to see it was Lewis who was giving her his hand.

"Come on you need to sit."

Marion took his hand and Lewis helped her on her feet and instantly took a seat. The girl had pulled Bloom forward to her. Bloom rested her head on Marion's lap. Marion was gazing at her daughter softly—studying every feature that there was about her from the small freckles on her face to her stunning blue iris.

"Oh my—" Samara covered her mouth. The girl was horrified to see her friends in such a state.

Erendor was utterly appalled. He had lost all coloring on his face. He didn't even know what to say or how to. . . comfort them. It was a good thing that he'd decided on bringing the big spaceship and with several healers with him.

He was very well aware of how dangerous Obsidian can get.

Most people would lose their lives in that wretched place.

Erendor couldn't simply imagine what they'd faced in Obsidian. The Crown Prince of Eracklyon had ordered the healers to tend to their wounds—restore them back to good health. He could see the tiredness on their faces.

"Lets give them some alone time to recover, Samara. They need all the rest they can get."

Samara nodded.

Erendor had took control of the ship once more and they flew out of Obsidian just in time before the gate would close, thus trapping them for all eternity in that miserable place. They were out of the realm of Obsidian and into the space. Stars had glittered in the darkness.

Author's Note

I'm back again! I know it's been while since I've updated this fic as I've been working on my other fanfic Bright Lights, Black City and so I'm actually working on both at the same time so it's kind. . . exhausting lol!

But anyways I know this chapter seems a little shorter than usual, but this chapter was mostly of saving them and escaping Obsidian and Marion getting her Enchantix! I do have plans as to how Samara, Niobe, and Luna would get theirs and I do believe we might come across other characters as well! So there's that.

And oh, a major plot point is that everyone knows that Valtor had manipulated them all. So now I think, I'm going to be working on a redemption arch for him but it ain't going to happen over night. ;D

BellChocolate: Oh my gosh, thank you! It means so much too me that you'd enjoyed last chapter! Ya Oritel's such a good father and once he knows about Bloom's memories, he'll go into a full over protective father mode! I'm not entirely sure if Marion will give Oritel trouble about it due to certain things that happened. Ohh I'm glad I've brightened your day! :D

1Shadow-kun: Ohhh thank you! I hope you enjoyed this chapter! If not, I can promise the next few chapter would get better and there will be key-revealing points to certain things that I'd intended to keep in this chapter but decided that it would be better in the next few chapters! I was kinda nervous about the whole Dark Bloom vs. her parents. :D

I hope you had enjoyed this chapter!

Like always please leave your reviews and comments down below! I really do appreciate it and love to hear your thoughts about it!
