Chap. 1

In the Medieval Kingdom lived 2 young children named James & Susan. Their father, King John, believes that they're destined to rule his land as king & queen, just like him & their mother, who passed away from an illness. However, James & Susan just want to live their lives & not be obsessed with royalty. 1 day, James & Susan made their way out of the castle & headed to the open meadow. Unknown to the children, they were being watched by 2 shadowy creatures flying above them.

"Are you sure it's a good idea heading to the meadow big brother?" Susan asked curiously.

"Absolutely," said James. "I don't think anyone will notice that we're heading there."

3 minutes later, they arrived at the meadow, which contained flowers, trees & a lake in the middle of the field.

"This is so beautiful," Susan said happily.

"No kidding," said James.

But their time taking in the scenery was short-lived when they saw 2 mysterious figures in the sky.

"What are they?" asked Susan.

"No idea," said James.

Before the kids could say anything else, the shadowy figures descended right in front of them & are revealed to be griffins. 1 of them was a huge, strong & handsome brown griffin, the other was a medium-slender peach griffin. James & Susan were shocked & surprised to see 2 griffins appear before them. The griffins walked towards them slowly, so that they won't be frightened.

"It's ok, we're not here to hurt you," said the peach griffin with a feminine voice.

"You can talk?!" James asked surprisingly.

"Of course," the brown griffin said with a male voice. "We griffins are also capable of talking. Allow us to introduce ourselves. I am Julian."

"And I am Pearl," the female griffin said as she & Julian bowed in front of the children.

"Nice to meet you Pearl & Julian," James said as he pulled himself together. "I'm James."

"I'm Susan & aren't you the cutest griffins I've ever seen," she said cheerfully as she ran & hugged Pearl's neck.

"Ohohohoho," chuckled Pearl. "Someone's excited."

Julian approached James with a friendly smile.

"James, right?" asked Julian.

James nodded as he looked at Julian's tall appearance.

"Would you like to pet me?" he asked again.

"Uh, sure," James answered.

James carefully petted Julian's head with ease & that made him purr.

"Wow, this is nice," said James.

"Tell us," said Pearl. "What brings you kids out here?"

James told the griffins their story about not being royal in their kingdom & how they lost their mom.

"I see," said Pearl. "I'm sorry to hear that. In that case, let us tell you our story."

Pearl & Julian were born into a hidden griffin home in the snowy mountains. Their time with the other griffins was peaceful & calm. That is, until a huge thunderstorm appeared & destroyed their home. Because of that, they had to abandon their home, go their separate ways, & find new homes. Knowing that Pearl wouldn't survive on her own, Julian, her best friend, helped her throughout her journey. Despite being together, they still miss their home, which sent tears down their faces. James & Susan felt sorry for the griffins & comfort them by hugging their stomachs as tightly as they could. The griffins wrapped their arms around James & Susan, so that they won't hurt the kids with their talons.

"There, there," mourned Susan. "It's ok."

Pearl sniffed & said, "Thank you. We needed that."

Suddenly, Susan had an idea. "Pearl, I know what will cheer you up."

"You do?" asked Pearl.

"Uh-huh."

And just like that, Susan tickled Pearl's soft peach belly, which made her laugh & fall on her back.

"No human has ever tickled me before," Pearl said while laughing.

"Until now," Susan said happily.

When James & Julian saw Pearl & Susan having fun, they turned their heads & looked at each other. As James started to smile, Julian gulped & said "do your worst," as he laid on his back in a dog-like state.

"Coochie, coochie, coo," James teased as he tickled Julian's belly.

"Hahahahahaha," laughed Julian. "Ooh, that really tickles. Hahahahahaha."

"Who's a good & ticklish griffin?"

"Hahahahahaha. I'm a good & ticklish griffin. I'm a good & ticklish griffin."

Not only did James tickled Julian's belly, he tickled Julian's hind legs & feet, & they're enjoying every minute of it.

After the kids were done tickling the griffins, Julian & Pearl caught their breath & sat up straight.

"Feel better?" asked Susan.

"Much!" Pearl exclaimed.

"No kidding!" exclaimed Julian.

"Glad you two are feeling better," said James. "Seriously, Susan & I are so happy that we got to see 2 griffins for the 1st time."

"We are! We are! We are!" Susan said wildly.

"And Julian & I are so happy to see such happy children," said Pearl while laying down on the flowery field.

"Can we touch your tails, please?" Susan begged.

"Sure," said Pearl.

James & Susan approached the griffins & gently touched their long, thick tails.

"Wow," said James. "Your tails are super soft."

"Glad you love them," Julian said while smiling.

After petting their tails, the kids hugged the griffins by the neck.

"Say, where do you two stay?" asked James.

"We stay in a cave, which is right across from where you live. No one knows where we are," said Julian.

"Uh-oh, it's sunset," alerted Susan. "C'mon James, we need to head back."

"Bye Julian. Bye Pearl," said James.

"Bye," Julian & Pearl said simultaneously.
