Chapter 4: Jetta sees shadows of the present

(We see Jetta back in her bedroom as she wakes up with a start)

Jetta: (Gasps and looks at her surroundings) It-it was a dream. That's all it was, a dream.

Ghost of Christmas Future: It wasn't a dream, Jetta.

Jetta: (Gasps and notices someone's missing) Wait, where's the Ghost of Christmas Past?

Ghost of Christmas Present: She's gone ahead of us to go take care of another target we were sent after this year, who happens to live in Johannesburg, South Africa. Now, it's my turn.

Jetta: What are you gonna do, Spirit?

Ghost of Christmas Present: I'm gonna show you how things look in the real world. But first, let's take a little look at some Christmas spirit! (Like the Ghost of Christmas Past, he throws some magic dust in the air and we see a little Christmas Tree magically appear in the room and the toys and ornaments come to life)

Toys and ornaments: Listen to the song of the Christmas Spirit

Can't you hear it?

Can't you hear it?

Listen to the song of the Christmas Spirit

Ringing in the air (They soon begins dancing around as the Ghost shrinks Jetta down to their size and she begins to join in, then some toys throw her up and down)

Tinkling lots of girls and boys

Ringle with a jingle of tingling joys

Words of hope and happy times

Sung to the music of chimes

Jumping jacks

And dancing dolls

Tumbling and tumbling bouncing balls

Sing the Christmas toy ballet

Dance to the bells and sing

Listen to the song of the Christmas Spirit

Can't you hear it?

Can't you hear it?

Listen to the song of the Christmas Spirit

Ringing in the air (Jetta soon begins to enjoy herself and dances with the ornaments and toys, she then dances with a nutcracker prince)

Click your heels

Point your toe

Spin around and around and around and away we go

Clap your hands

Wink your eye

Jump so high, you can reach the sky (Song ends as the Ghost grabs hold of Jetta with his paw, puts her on his back, jumps up in the air and flies)

Jetta: Whoa! We're flying!

Ghost of Christmas Present: So we are! (Laughs, they soon land on the ground) Now, then, Jetta, let's take a look at the shadows of the present.

Jetta: This is my friend Emily Elizabeth's house.

Ghost of Christmas Present: I understand her grandfather, who's also the President of the United States, is visiting, huh?

Jetta: Yes. Will they be able to hear or see me?

Ghost of Christmas Present: No, which I think is good news for them. (Jetta peaks into the window and we see Emily Elizabeth and her grandparents wrapping some presents)

Emily Elizabeth: Here are some more tags, Grandma.

First Lady Howard: Thank you, dear.

President Howard: This almost reminds me of when you and Mark used to wrap presents together when he was a boy, Martha. (Emily Elizabeth's parents enter the room)

Mr. Howard: What was that about me, Dad?

President Howard: Just, uh, reminiscing, son. That's all.

Mrs. Howard: Sorry we're late. The Sea Shell was filled up with people doing some last-minute Christmas shopping.

Mr. Howard: You know how it is this time of year, Caroline.

Mrs. Howard: I know, Mark. At least it's worth it. (They both chuckle and smooch while coincidentally standing under the mistletoe)

Ghost of Christmas Present: Looks like they're full of Christmas spirit. No pun intended.

Emily Elizabeth: I'll sure be looking forward to the play tomorrow. Still, I can't help but feel sorry for Jetta.

Jetta: Sorry for me?

Emily Elizabeth: I know she was looking forward to the play when she first heard about, but as I said, she felt a bit stingy about being the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come.

President Howard: Well, as I said before, you can't always do the kind of roles you like best. Still, I'm sure she'll understand that soon.

Ghost of Christmas Present: Jetta, how come you thought your roll was boring?

Jetta: Well, it's because all I had to do is just point in specific directions. How can I have a part without doing lines?

Ghost of Christmas Present: Well, Future also didn't like how Charles Dickens portrayed him as a mute ghost. Even so, you did kind of hurt his feelings about how you didn't want to play him.

Jetta: Well, I didn't mean to hurt his feelings.

Ghost of Christmas Present: As the President said just now, you can't always do the kind of role you like best. Unless you reconsider your roll, your future may not turn right for you.

Jetta: What about my future?

Ghost of Christmas Present: You'll have to see when Future meets with you. For now, I must be off to Africa. (Turns away, runs a few yards and jumps into the air)

Jetta: (Chases after the ghost) Wait! Don't go! Don't leave me here!

A/N: Here's chapter 4, everybody! The Christmas Spirit song is another song from "The Stingiest Man in Town." Next, we'll see Jetta as she gets a glimpse of her future. Will she redeem herself at the end?
