To Draco's surprise the rest of his date with Ginny went well, really well in fact. They'd had lunch together, chatting away, browsed round the shops and generally had a good time even with the deaged duo and Flopsy the rabbit along for the ride. He'd left the three in the entrance hall upon their return to the school, after a sweet kiss from the redheaded beauty. He'd floated around the school for weeks following that kiss, taking every and any opportunity to repeat said kiss with Ginny his girlfriend.

Everything at the school had been going well until it wasn't. He'd been sitting at the Slytherin table during the Halloween Feast applauding each champion as they were selected for the tournament when Potter of all the bloody names had come out of the cup. He'd watched the spectacle wearing boy stutter, not moving, then watched as Hermione had pounced at the boy, wrapping her arms around him in congratulations. He knew the other boy wouldn't have entered himself into such a contest, and Draco had a bad feeling something sinister was afoot in the castle.

"DRAGONS, OH LOOK," Hermione screamed excitedly. They were sat in the stands watching the first task.

"ROAAAAAAAAAAR," Fred cried his arms spread out like wings, Draco sighed as Hermione copied ger friend, both hopping around the stands as they imitated the four dragons the champions were to fight.

"MR BLONDIE, ROAR," Hermione screamed leaping at him, he stumbled under her sudden weight, grabbing for the railing behind him but it was too late. Reminiscent to their recent tumble down the lawns of Hogwarts but far more dangerous, the pair found themselves falling into the pit below, a pit with four nesting dragons.

"Oh fucking hell," he muttered, his arms around the little girl who was surely going to be the cause of his early demise.

"DRAGON," she yelled as they came to a stop, some twenty feet below, bouncing slightly like a rubber ball. Draco wasn't sure whose accidental magic had caused such a feet, he was just glad they weren't injured.

"We have to get out of here," he told her, grabbing her towards him, Hermione was faster, darting away as she made a beeline for the nearest dragon, one Draco recognised as a Hungarian Horntail. Draco froze in horror as the small frizzy haired girl who had somehow wormed her way into his cold heart, ran towards the dangerous creature, that sat protectively atop of a clutch of eggs. Hermione's arms were outstretched like wings, and she let out another roar. He was aware of the spectators watching on in horror and of the Dragon Tamers rushing into the pit, but his focus was on the girl and the beast she was approaching. The Dragon fixed her eyes on the girl, she spread her wings, outstretched her claws and reared her head back inhaling air, preparing to blow fire. The dragon let out a roar, but no fire was produced, she clambered to her feet, not a single egg getting damaged and then she reached out wrapping her claws around the girl, lifting her into the air. Hermione screamed as she was raised, level with the dragon's orange eye. Dragon and girl looked at one another, Hermione began to cry, pitiful little whimpers, like a lost kitten. Dragon Keepers were firing spells. The dragon roared, shooting fire at the ground, creating a barrier between her nest and the men. Draco was certain Hermione would be eaten but she wasn't the dragon extended its tongue licking the girl a few times and carefully placed her in the centre of her nest before curling herself protectively around the girl and her nest.

"Kid let's get you to safety," one of the keepers spoke, dragging him away.

"What about Hermione," he asked his eyes still fixed on the dragon worriedly.

"We'll get her back, Mabel wont hurt her," he said running his hand through his shaggy red hair.

"Mable, who names a dragon Mabel," he muttered as he was pulled out of the pit.

"OH DRACO," a cry came and then his arms were full of his girlfriend, who squeezed him tightly her body shaking.

"I'm alright," he told her, wrapping his arms around her just as tightly.

"You let Mione be taken by a Dragon," the small redhead at her side accused and then Draco's knee was smarting as the deaged twin had kicked him.

"FRED," Ginny shouted, her eyes apologetic.

"Mabel won't eat her," he said repeating what the Dragon Tamer had said to him.

"Of course not she's going to feed her to her babies when they hatch," Ginny wailed.

"Either that or raise Hermione as a Dragon," he said as he watched the Dragon Tamers set about tranquilised he magnificent beast.

"I got to meet a real dragon," Hermione spoke happily as they made their way back to the castle.

"You were almost eaten by a dragon," Ginny muttered.

"Mabel was nice," Hermione said. It had taken a while to get the girl back, the first task getting delayed by over an hour. They'd watched the champions compete, Harry coming in first place after he faced Mabel in the pit.

"Your brother was nice Ginny, he gave us sweets," Fred spoke. The boy had a large bag full of candy that his older brother had given him, not that he knew the redheaded Charlie was the same boy he'd grown up with.

"I don't think Mr Blondie thought so," Ginny laughed. No Draco didn't think so, the man had pulled him to the side after rescuing Hermione to ask him about his intentions with is little sister and had threatened him with death by dragon should he ever hurt him.

"I liked him, he wants to feed Mr Blondie to a Dragon," Fred smirked.

"Fred don't be mean to Mr Blondie," Hermione scolded, grabbing a handful of candy. Draco smirked leaning down to pick up the girl, settling her on his shoulders and Fred glared at him.
