After breakfast Fred led Hermione out of the Great Hall, leading her up through the levels of the school, her hand still held firmly in his.

"Where are we going Fred," she asked quietly.

"It's a surprise, George has helped me put something together," he told her as he pulled her into a little used classroom on the forth floor; this room was one of his favourites, the wall opposite the door the room had been charmed to look like a window; from the outside it looked the same as any other classroom but from within it gave fabulous views over the grounds of Hogwarts.

"Wow, it's beautiful," his companion breathed, staring out at the frozen lake, snow frosted fir trees and snowy grounds.

"I love coming here, he told her quietly.

"Fred are they fairies," she asked him as tiny balls of light floated into the room, each holding flowers out to the Gryffindor girl.

"They are, that's the part George helped with," he said.

"Oh, this is lovely, thank you," she said accepting the flowers one by one, by the time the last fairy had given her a red rose, she had an entire bouquet off vibrant flowers.

"Hermione, there's a reason I brought you here, to one of my favourite places," he told her quietly, Hermione turned to him, her chocolate eyes wide and inquisitive.

"Yes, Fred what is it," she asked, taking a step towards him.

"Hermione after the past four months I'd like to think we are good friends now," he said quietly, Hermione nodded.

"The best of Friends," she agreed, nodding her head.

"Before the potions accident I thought you were pretty, really pretty," he said, Hermione blushed her mouth falling open and he rushed to continue, "Hermione I've fancied you for over a year now, I think you are amazing," he told her seriously.

"You do," she asked, wide eyed.

"Yes, and in case you didn't notice, my five-year-old self was smitten with you too," he told her.

"Well I did notice that you tended to attack Draco when I gave him attention," she nodded.

"That's because I'm crazy about you Hermione, and I was very jealous of your relationship with Malfoy," he informed her.

"You have no reason to be jealous," she told him.

"Your perfect, I'm not the only guy who thinks so," he said.

"Fred," she smiled.

"Yes Hermione," he asked.

"I fancy you too," she informed him happily.

"You do," he asked feeling incredibly shocked.

"Yes, in fact I think you are incredibly handsome," she said as she placed her flowers down on an abandoned desk and walked towards him.

"In that case, would you like to be my girlfriend," he asked her excitedly, "Hermione laughed, smiling up at him tenderly, "I thought you'd never ask," she whispered, rising up onto her tiptoes, she wrapped her arms around his neck and pressed her lips against his in a sweet kiss.

"Happy Christmas, Fred," she whispered as they pulled apart, Fred smiled happily and leaned down to kiss her once more, it was looking to be a very happy Christmas indeed.
