Just for You

Neku had just finished his breakfast, the newspaper that he had read whilst eating turned to a page that displayed an article the controversy of CAT's real identity, and whether it was one person or a group and how secretive CAT must be not to have his or he identity discovered for so long. Well, Neku knew, of course, yet even after all these years he wasn't sure that even he knew who CAT was.

He often had people at his workplace say how they thought his preferences seemed to correlate with CAT's and he didn't deny this, and they rightly thought about how he might know who CAT was. They would not get any information out of him, though. That secret stayed with him.

Not that that was very relevant at work – his employers should be more focused on their work instead of gossip, even if that was what they liked talking about best. He hoped there weren't going to be any awkward Valentine's Day scandals this year, like there was last year. Last year they had this whole problem where it turned out one of their iconic singers was actually going out with her manager instead of another idol, like the public had thought. It had been really stupid matter as well. If the manager was going to sing out a love song to her in the middle of Shibuya Station, of course the media would pounce on that. Ugh.

He had not been looking forward to Valentine's Day this year because of that.

Well, off to work then…

Clearing away his dish and putting on his work jacket, Neku was just about to put on his shoes when he felt a tug at the bottom of his shirt. Turning around, he looked down and saw the wide blue eyes of his daughter staring at him.

"What are you doing up so early, Nana?" he asked. He had gotten up early for work today because he had things to organize before a meeting with one of the heads of his company's sponsors.

"Papa…."

He bent down so that he was at her eye level. "Yes?" Oh? She seemed to be holding something behind her back…

"Here! Happy Valentine's day!" she said, thrusting a packet of chocolates into his hands.

He blinked, looking at the packet that he was now holding. The clear plastic was tied untidily with a red ribbon, with a small gift tag attached to it saying 'For Papa'. "Did you make this?"

Nana nodded her little head once before turning around. "Mama helped me."

He looked up to see Shiki peeking out of their bedroom, with a small smile on her face. Seeing that Neku had already noticed her, she joined him crouching down to Nana's level. "I helped a little bit, but our little angel did a lot of the work herself."

"Aren't you going to eat it, Papa?"

"Of course."

His daughter looked at him expectantly. Oh, she meant now.

Neku untied the ribbon, taking a piece of chocolate and popping it into his mouth. The chocolate was very sugary, and seemed just like the type of thing Nana would make.

"Do you like it?" Nana asked timidly.

He smiled widely after swallowing. "It was delicious."

"Really?" His daughter eyes sparkled proudly.

"Really! In fact, it tastes better than the first chocolates your mother gave me."

Shiki's cheeks puffed up. "You said you liked my chocolates."

Neku chuckled. "I said I liked them, but that's 'cause I was happy to get chocolates from you. I never said that they tasted good."

Shiki pulled their daughter into a hug. "Hmph, look at your Papa, trying to get out of trouble by saying something sweet!"

Nana giggled at her mum's cheeks, poking at them until she let the air out of them.

Perhaps all fathers thought this, but Neku thought that Nana was the cutest person in existence. Besides his wife, of course.

Feeling extremely uplifted by the gestures from his family members, he gave them both a hug, planting a cheek-kiss on both of them. "Alright, Papa needs to go to work now."

Both Neku and Shiki got up from their funny crouching positions.

"Have a good day at work," said Shiki, as Neku put on his shoes.

"You too," he said. "Thank you for the chocolates, Nana. Be a good girl."

"I will!" she said.

"Bye! See you later."

"Bye, Papa!"

"Bye, Neku."

Valentine's day?

Yes, he felt a lot better about it now, especially because he had his two most precious people in the world two celebrate it with.

A/N: Tadaa! Happy Valentine's Day! Or Single's Awareness Day. xD The latter would apply to me, I think. Not that I mind. I really like Valentine's Day, actually. I sometimes joke about being 'forever alone' but like it doesn't bother me. I like the day because everyone gets into a really shippy mood and like posts lots of shippy kinds of things all over the place and it makes me happy. I mean a day dedicated to love, that's always a good thing.

Also I thought it would be cute to do a family-ish chapter. I usually give my parents a card for but I had Nana try to make chocolates (with a lot of help from Shiki, so Shiki's chocolate-making does improve!).

Anyway, thanks for all the reviews from - I'll Break Your Heart, A Paper Flower, Xerzo LotCN, ElementLegend, Aviantei and B.A.G-GOMEZ. You guys are awesome, and I'm giving you all Valentine's Day Giri chocolate! LOVE YOU ALL! :D
