Sequel to Fallen Angel. I really don't have a good description but I hope you like it anyway,

I own nothing of Supernatural, just playing for a bit.

Christine stretched and slowly opened her eyes. She turned her head and saw the red numbers of her alarm clock glowing in the darkness. 5:21 am . Turning over she reached out across the bed to find it empty. It wasn't surprising, her husband rarely slept, and when he did it was never more than a few hours. Christine got up and walked through the darkness of the bedroom to the bathroom. After showering and getting ready for work she went to look for Crowley. Usually he could be found in either his office in the house or his office in Hell. She had never visited in the latter but all it took was a phone call and he would emerge. Walking through the house it dawned on her that it had been almost one year that they had been married. For the most part it had been good, like all new marriages they had their rough spots. While most newlywed argued over sharing a living space, Christine and Crowley argued over such things as his demons leaving behind sulfur and how he would disappear for days, losing track of time while he was dealing with things she didn't even want to imagine in Hell. She was happy though, happier than she had ever been. Christine neared the doors of his office and heard him on the phone, his voice was raised and she could tell he was angry.

" I don't care, bring it to me in 2 days or I'll pull your limbs from your body." He said into the phone and then ended the call. Crowley tossed the phone onto the desk. " Idiots." He said to himself. He heard a knock at his door and looked up as Christine opened the door.

Chris poked her head in, " Hey, are you busy?"

" Not at all. Please, come in." He told her. Crowley had explained to her several times that there were no areas of the house that were off limits to her, but she still knocked each time this door was closed. " I've told you my dear, you are welcome here at any time. No need to knock."

Chris walked in and sat down in one of the chairs on the opposite side of the desk from him. " I know, just habit from my childhood I guess. My dad always told me to knock before I came in, I guess it just stuck."

" So off to work then?" He asked her.

Christine checked her watch. " Yeah, I need to leave in about 15 minutes. Anything fun on your agenda today?"

" Not really no, but if you could be persuaded to call in," he said and grinned at her, " I'm sure I could come up with something."

She laughed at him, " Tempting, but I really do need to go in today. I have employee reviews to do and end of the month supply inventory."

" End of the month. Yes, I seem to recall an important date around that time. December first to be exact."

" I think I remember something around that time," Chris stood and went to him behind his desk. Crowley turned his chair to face her and reached out and pulled her into his lap. " I'm pretty sure it's the anniversary of the best day of my life." she told him, and kissed him.

Crowley kissed her deeply, pulling away he said, " What I ever did to deserve you I'll never know." He pulled her close and hugged her tightly. " Better go, before i throw you over my shoulder and take you to bed,"

Christine got up and kissed him once more. " I'll see you in the morning."

Crowley smiled as he watched her leave, still just as enamored with her as the first time he ever saw her. " Be safe love."

" Always," she called over her shoulder and pulled the door shut behind her.

Crowley sat there a few moments after she left. He had things to take care of in Hell, saving those duties for the days that Chris was at work. Crowley tried to keep his dealings in the underworld well away from her. As he had reminded her, it was almost one year since their wedding. Never in his entire existence had he felt the happiness that he felt now. Even the running of Hell had been relatively easy since, no major prophecies, no near apocalypse, nothing. That last thought set him on edge a bit, seems as if they were due for some catastrophe to befall. Crowley sighed and made his way down into the basement.

The large office in Hell was far different than the one he had just left. It was darker, warmer, there were no windows, a distinct smell of sulfur permeated the air, and in the silence he could hear the screams of the tortured. " Home sweet home," he muttered to himself. He walked to a door at the back of the room and went through it. A long hall stretched out before him a line of people stood in a seemingly endless line, each holding a number. It was better than he remembered. He walked past the souls waiting there in line, each looking up at him expectantly. Crowley just chuckled to himself and kept walking, " Sometimes I'm bloody brilliant."

In the land of the living Christine and Dennis were cleaning up after their last call, a woman who had tried to wax her legs and the wax was way too hot, she ended up with severe burns. " What is going on today?" Chris asked Dennis while she was wiping down the stretcher with disinfectant. " I know we've had 4 calls and I just heard Medic 2 go out, that's at least their third, and Medic 3 just called out at the hospital on their third call. That's what, 10 calls? It's just barely one o'clock." She complained as she wiped.

" I'm not sure, I guess we just have a black cloud today." Dennis answered as he got the sheet out to cover the mattress. They finished with the stretcher and got back up front. " Hey Chris, there's something that I want to talk to you about."

" Sure go ahead." She said as she was putting on her seatbelt.

Dennis pulled out of the ER parking lot and out onto the street. " Sally and I have been talking, and well, I'm not as young as I used to be. I think it's getting to be time that I start thinking about retiring."

The words hung in the air between them, Christine was stunned, it never occurred to her that he would want to retire. " What? You aren't old enough to retire."

Dennis chuckled, " Well, I'm pretty sure I am. I wasn't talking about right now. I was thinking about the end of the year."

" That's only like a month away!"

" I know, that's why I'm telling you now. I didn't just want to spring it on you at the last minute."

Christine looked at him. She couldn't be mad, he had been doing this for a long time. " I know, I just don't want you to go."

" I'm not leaving the country," he told her, " I'll still be right here in town, Sally too. We're family Chris, that'll never change."

" As long as you promise I'm still invited to your Fourth of July barbeque and Thanksgiving."

" Always. You and Crowley are always welcome at our home, you know that."

" Alright, I guess I can let you go. Have you talked to HR yet?"

" No. I wasn't going to until I told you first. I'm going to talk to them if we ever get back to the station."

Just as Dennis said those words tones came over the radio and the dispatcher voice came through right after, " Dispatch medic one, dispatch medic one. Need you enroute to a structure fire. 106 Haven. No injuries reported. Fire requesting EMS for standby."

" Well at least it's just a standby." Christine said as she picked up the radio mic, " Medic one received, show us responding 106 Haven for fire standby."

Dennis turned on the lights and sirens and they drove toward the cloud of smoke they could both now see in the sky.

Christine walked out to her car, she was absolutely exhausted. All of the units had run most of the night. She got in the drivers seat and buckled her seatbelt. Christine leaned her head back on the headrest and closed her eyes. A loud knocking on her window startled her and she sat upright, turning her head she saw Ricky at her window. She pressed the down button, " You scared the crap out of me!" she said.

" Sorry, I just noticed you had been here for almost an hour and I was just checking on you." he told her.

" Oh my gosh, are you serious?" Christine looked down to see the clock on the radio read 8:02. It really had been almost an hour since she left. " I'm sorry. I guess I didn't realize how tired I was. I must have dozed off."

" It's okay. Are you sure you're okay to drive home?"

" Yeah, I'll be okay. I'll stop at the gas station up the street and grab a coffee or something. Thanks for waking me up."

He smiled at her, " No problem. Let me know if you need someone to drive you home, I'd hate for you to fall asleep while driving."

" I'm good, I promise." she told him. Christine put her window up and pulled out of the parking lot.

" Well, 10 years flew by didn't it," Crowley said to a man trembling in front of him, " but as you well know, it's time to pay the piper."

" Please," the man fell to his knees, cowering on the floor," please, I don't want to die!"

" Who does?" Crowley reached out to the man and just as he was about to grab him his phone rang. " Well, look at that, saved by the bell." Crowley took his phone out and answered it. " Crowley."

" Mr. Crowley, this is Dr. Tate. I'm the ER physician here at Memorial hospital. I need to let you know that your wife was involved in a car accident this morning."

Crowley was speechless at the Dr.'s words, he disappeared from the room. The man looked around thinking that he had gotten lucky, until he heard the distant howls of the hellhounds and he began to sob once more.
