Within the hour, the specialized unit was through the Breach Gateway with their prisoners. The PPDC were also not going to give one of them back to the Devil's either, given that he had been the one responsible for kidnapping a PPDC Ranger and stealing PLF and PPDC property. The other prisoner was a woman that had magic and was taken into custody, forced to wear magic suppressing cuffs so she couldn't use her powers to affect the unit members.
She also had to be gagged due to her voice being quite "charming".
Harry raised his eyebrow as he looked at the dark haired, pale skinned woman that was called "The Whisperer". His skin crawled as he looked at her, his magic churning inside him, wanting to strangle the creature behind the one-way glass. She was Fae, one of the creatures that fought against Humanity on more then one occasion. Once during the Titan War and the second was the Great Battle of Pangaea, where the Fae ran away into an alternate realm.
"Sir," One of the security personnel asked, looking at Harry's crushed clipboard, "need another?"
"No," He said, dropping the remains, waving his hand to cause the destroyed clipboard to vanish, "pump her full of veritaserum and get everything out of her you can."
"Yes, Sir."
Harry turned and left, walking out of the military base of the landlocked PPDC in America. Unlike the Shatterdomes, these bases were built by Monarch during the Kaiju War. Built to handle the requirements of full military deployments in case of Jaeger's being unable to stop a Kaiju, these bases continued to see use due to the random mini-breaches that happened three times a month. New weapons and vehicles were being created for the militaries of the world that could defend the inland people, like the Maser Tanks that were being tested for practical use on the field.
Harry remembered that the Iraq War was still raging, mutations were running wild everywhere there and other countries were not happy with Iraq at all. A ton of these new weapons were being sent to deal with the terrorist Mutations, so he simply had to deal with the creation of them. PLF Corp researched with Monarch how to implement Hollow Earth Energy into everyday life but it was tough as the energy had to be drawn directly from the Earth without harming the planet then refined, inside the Hollow Earth itself.
That was how the Breach Gateways were powered, refined Hollow Earth Energy, it was how the PPDC was able to get to Rias and Akeno in the Underworld. He stepped out into the base into the sun before apparating back to his office in the PLF headquarters. In his office, he found Namako watching one of the holo-based Jaegers doing it's best to take down a category 1.
"Those kids are not winning, only stalling." She remarked as the Kaiju shoved the Jaeger back on the Tv.
Harry tilted his head, "How can you tell?"
Namako smirked, "Those two called it in, both cannons blew out, blade short circuited upon activation. Azure Defiant is on its way to deal with the Kaiju itself, and it seems the kids were messing with the Jaeger to make it "better then Diablo Lightning". They could have killed themselves out there."
Harry nodded, then picked up the phone, "What Jaeger is that?"
Namako snorted, "Blazing Glory."
Harry smiled and called up Marshal Son Hew, "Marshal, I'm glad I got you on the line."
The Marshal humed, "I usually don't get personal calls unless something really bad has happened."
"It has," Harry said, "The two Rangers of Blazing Glory messed with their Jaeger and nearly got themselves killed."
Son Hew sighed, "I've seen the footage of the fight, Mr Potter."
Harry pressed on, "Marshal, any Jaeger tampering is against PLF policy due to how dangerous the machines we create are. Those two did it to outperform Diablo Lightning, who is barely off the repair shop floor after it's fight with a Category Four. This Kaiju is a Category One, and they had to call in an older Jaeger to deal with it. I'm not going to allow that kind of tomfoolery in any PLF property, so those two are not going to pilot a Jaeger ever again, drift compatible or not."
The Marshal was silent before he said, "I understand, I'll do the paperwork right now to release them from duty."
Harry gave his goodbyes before hanging up, looking at Namako, who watched Azure Defiant stab the Kaiju through the skull before it grabbed the newer Jaeger and shoved it away. It was clear the Rangers of Azure were not happy with the two younger Rangers at all, pointing and making gestures like an angry parent to a child.
"Good," Namako said before smirking up at him, "now, I believe it's time to close up and give me my warmth, dear~"
Rias read the newspaper at breakfast, noting the headline proclaiming the peace deal between the 'Devils' and the Human race. She rolled her eyes, the paper was simplifying the overly complicated wording of the paper both sides signed with magic. Mostly, it boiled down to they'll help humanity thrive, survive and not to try and backstab them. Magic would know, so that made the humans happy.
Akeno came over and smiled, sitting next to Rias as she put down the paper, "So, after several weeks of talking, it happened?"
Rias nodded, folding the paper as she looked up at the tv, "Indeed, so who is on duty this morning?"
"Crimson Dragon," Akeno said, smirking as she glanced at the huge screen that showed the crimson armor of the Jaeger Issei and Asia pilot, "Been chasing a Category Three all night it seems."
Rias frowned, "Why all night?"
Akeno sighed, "Tearing Dawn was ambushed and got its knees ripped out, Issei and Asia were the closest for Breach Gating. The Kaiju has been leading them on a chase all night, until now."
Akeno motioned to the screen as the Jaeger grabbed the Kaiju by its single ridged horn on its head, pushing a foot into its lower spine. It pulled the kaiju back until it snapped its back, blood erupting out of the wound as the Jaeger tore out the Kaiju's heart in a viscous manner. Both Issei and Asia were clearly not happy at chasing this beast all night, as Rias sighed in amusement.
"They'll be off duty for the next few days," She remarked as the footage switched to another Jaeger, Delta Maverick, was patrolling the deconstruction Wall site, "We'll be on duty after Kiba and Koneko."
Akeno nodded, eating her eggs before asking, "And how is our little bishop doing?"
Gasper had been officially adopted into the Creevy family, after both Colin and Astora met him. A week later, they and Rias (as standing guardian for Gasper) were signing papers to make the adoption legal. Gasper was not only happier but he was able to do more with his computer skills with parents that were computer wizzes themselves.
Rias smiled at Akeno, "He's loving his new life."
Luna Lovegood was in a rather good mood the night she found the city that was much too large for it to be real. She had been going over the satellite footage that had been recorded over Antarctica, frame by frame. On the 5,836,495th frame, she stopped and frowned. The image was fragmented until she used her magic to force the image back into focus, truth had to be found. Her hand stopped, looking upon a city that shouldn't exist.
The Temple of Ashes alluded to it, it was the largest city of the Elder Things, the Old Ones, amongst many other names. This was their city, or the largest one on this planet that was known. Lovecraft had seen them in visions, even though he was only a squib. His gift of seeing the cosmic horrors was dampened by the lack of good health on his part.
She thought that this being missed by humanity was unthinkable to her, but she was also one of the few with true sight and maybe an inkling of that cosmic sight that Lovecraft had. She then pulled the image off the computer and onto her tablet before changing her mind and sending it to her favorite lady, Maia Simmons. She also knew that Maia was going to say her name and groan all the while.
Maybe she'll get to use some of the new toys Maia had been creating!
