Inside the lead convoy vehicle, Harry Potter looked over the data that had been translated from the download they had taken from the research center. There had been a lot to decrypt and most of it was a rather lengthy history of this Earth. Someone clearly wanted to get everything in one go, which was leading to rather large files or file sizes. The images were a good touch though, seeing as they helped explain what was happening or what was being described. What he was most interested in was the large monsters that had populated this Earth, which was due to his uneasy feeling of something not being right.
Turns out, he was correct. Ages ago, the invaders had sealed this world's Alpha Titan, a female Titanus Final-Goji. Given that it had been sealed away, it couldn't defend the planet from the forces of chaos trying to control it. Harry paused then went back, something that caught his attention. A strange symbol with the letters "S-C-P" under it, though it was crossed out by something else. Looking deeper, he discovered this world's equivalent of the PPDC. A foundation whose mandate was to secure, contain and protect humanity.
However, sometime around 2043, things were going out of control. Aliens emerged from the North Pole, beginning to rain weaponry unimaginable upon the human race. The SCP Foundation rushed to contain this threat but were overwhelmed as facilities were destroyed and contained creatures were either killed or taken away. Then came the purging, where ice was weaving itself out of both poles and sealing the world into an eternal ice age. Soon, humanity created what would be called "Iron Knights", creations that looked vaguely like the Imperial Knights of that one tabletop game, Warhammer.
The more he went through the articles, the more the feeling of despair entered his gut. The world had gone to war and lost. They created their own Mechagodzilla and in the end, created Jaegers but then the Martians of Mars came down to the freezing world. With a war on two fronts, facing advanced technology, genetically engineered eldritch horrors and more, Humanity gave up. A third went to the Insane ones, who became their cultists/birth chambers. The rest either fled to the Hollow Earth and became primitive or stayed above the ice in Ice Cities.
Pulling up a map, Harry noticed that they were heading in the direction of the graveyard. It didn't say anything more then that, but the images showed the remains of both Jaegers and Iron Knights piled on top of one another while on either side, gigantic canyon walls shielded them from the wrath of this eternal hellish winter. Of course, his people would want to study these knights before they moved on again.
Looking over the files once more, he frowned as he saw a file that was labeled "The Black Wall". Opening it, he found that most of it was encrypted but he got a few sentences out of it. This wall was between them and this world's Gojira. A new quest to head on, Harry mused to himself as he closed down the computer and got up.
He needed his sleep as well.
A few days of traveling found the convoy at the mouth of the graveyard and upon entering, the feeling about everything was palpable. Mako Mori read over the holograms that showed Samurai Indigo's scan results as Gabriel worked at something that had been annoying her for the whole trip. Someone left a vent to the outside world open and it had flooded the cockpit with a chilling cold, something the half-veela hated. Given that she was part Veela, any type of cold was seen as an affront. Something Mako found amusing in the younger woman as she finally got the vent closed and sealed.
With some very colorful language in French, Gabriel reconnected to the Jaeger and drifted back with Mako. The hatred easily filled the link between them but it quickly faded away as the information Mako had been reading filled her partner's mind. The scans showing the many bodies of the creations dubbed the "Iron Knights" by this Earth's populace, however, Maki wrinkled her nose mentally at that name.
These mecha suits were smaller than Jaegers and were glorified weapon platforms that looked humanoid enough to look like early Jaeger creations. Most of the weapons were massive plasma based or energy based guns with the massive physical shell gun thrown in for good measure to complement the armory. The larger Knights would have massive artillery guns on their backs/shoulders to provide long range cover to their allies. The largest one was leaning into the side of the canyon, having four arms and other assorted weaponry that would make Koneko Toujou drool.
The girl was a gun fanatic; she wouldn't deny it as their Jaeger, Echoing Tower, was going over the gigantic Knight's weaponry like it was the holy grail. However, most of the scientists were doing the same in the smaller ones, if the very excited radio chatter was anything to go off of. Gabriel looked over at her as she asked something.
"So, do you think someone got sued over copyright on these being created?"
Mako chuckled, "Most definitely, pretty sure that the company was disbanded a few weeks into the creation of these if the information we got was correct. Some people are never happy."
Deeper within the frozen wasteland, tripods moved towards their targets with silent efficiency. Built with the ice age changes in mind, these war machines were far more advanced and adapted to winter based combat then their original counterparts. However, these machines were escorted by smaller and more colorful tripods. Their purples, grays and reds standing out in the snow like freshly exposed blood and viscera. Smaller tripods, the drones, scuttled under foot as they scouted ahead for their masters.
He didn't care, the deep scar across his right bulging dead blind eye showing how much he didn't care about humanity. They wounded him and his pride when they used the Jaegers and Iron Knights, this particular wound had been given to him by the Jaeger/Iron Knight hybrid dubbed "Thunder Child". That was before his battle group blasted the creation into the massive frozen lake that was between the exit of the canyon graveyard and the Black Wall.
"All units stay in formation." He intoned over the shared telepathy link, "A hurricane blizzard is coming up and I do not want another sector 85 incident. We stay close and move slowly, line of sight and of mind is required. Our technology will not help us in these conditions."
"Understood," Came the reply from his battlegroup, the tripods closing ranks to say in formation as the dangerous winds picked up and whited out everything for thousands of miles.
