The sun was at its peak in Mystic Falls as Damon Salvatore strolled down the sidewalk. Taking a deep breath, he inhaled the crisp October air.
After the events of Halloween night, things have been all over the place for him. After Stefan killed Vicki, his annoying girlfriend Elena blamed him for everything, even though it was her very own brother who killed Vicki. Caroline tried to reassure him, telling him that her friend was just being illogical but he could tell she was still shaken up by what had happened. She hadn't answered any of his calls for 2 days now. He left several messages asking her to call him back ASAP so they could talk about everything that had happened over the last few days... but still nothing.
But this was not the time to think about that he had a job to do. He was here to meet Sheriff Forbes, who was ironically Caroline's mother, the girl who was just plaguing his thoughts. He needed to get in her good books so that she would trust him enough to let him join the council in place of Zach. Damon was a vampire and no one knew that other than his brother, Caroline, and unfortunately, Elena and he would like to keep it that way. No amateur vampire hunters will be the cause of his downfall and he will make sure of that.
Caroline was laying in her bed with her laptop chattering with her friends. Even though she was missing them, She was happy to video call her friends, Jess and Sam. They chatted and laughed the whole time, just like they always do.
The blonde was happy to see them, but she also felt a little lonely. She couldn't go to Alexis's class with them because her mother said it wasn't safe-one of the teenage girls from their town had gone missing (The teenage girl being Vicki of course). Only she wasn't missing she was actually dead.
It's not that Caroline was afraid of going out alone or anything -her mom was just being extra cautious after everything that had happened lately. But it did make Caroline feel like she was missing out when she couldn't join in on all the fun with her gang.
Caroline smiled as they talked about what they'd be doing next week at school it seemed like every day since they'd been friends with each other was an adventure! She wished she could be there too...
"Halloween was fun but it felt incomplete with you," Sam said as she smiled at the camera. She was sporting her usual grey t-shirt that had a picture of a cat on it over her black sports bra and black sweet pants with red sneakers on her feet. Her brown hair was messy from sweating in class but she didn't care because she knew that she looked good anyway so why bother fixing it up?
"Yup we miss you. How was your Halloween?", Jess chimed in from beside Sam. She had her usual attire on, grey sweatpants, a grey hoodie, and white athletic shoes. Like the goofball she was sipping out of her Hersey's bottle as she chatted, (fully enjoying the dirty looks she was getting from people passing by), her blonde hair hung down all over her shoulder.
"Let's just say eventful to say the least...and traumatizing", Caroline whisper the last part and lucky for her, the girls didn't catch it. Caroline was still in her pajamas. Her wavy blonde hair was still in its normal hairstyle but you could tell that she hadn't brushed it since yesterday evening so naturally, there were some tangles in it as well. But she had no intention of correcting her appearance.
"So how is my favorite student doing?", Alexis said walking towards the duo and looking right at the screen as she joined the conversation.
"I thought I was your favorite student", Jess cried out dramatically, to which Alexis and Sam just rolled their eyes while Caroline snickered.
"So how is my favorite student doing?", Alexis said walking towards the duo and looking right at the screen as she joined the conversation. Their faces lit up at seeing her and they all smiled. Alexis was a gorgeous woman, 5'6 tall with dark curly hair, hazel eyes, and a soothing grin that made you want to smile just by looking at her.
"I thought I was your favorite student", Jess cried out dramatically, to which Alexis and Sam just rolled their eyes while Caroline snickered.
"I am okay", Caroline said, leaning into the headboard of her bed, "A little bored. Just...tired".
The blonde had been on a movie marathon since the time she woke up, coz she had nothing better to do. Bonnie wasn't picking up her calls and she did know if wanted to talk to Elena right now. Surprisingly, she hasn't seen Damon for a while now. It felt like he had completely decided to stop dropping in uninvited and irritating her. This made her realize how she had weirdly gotten used to having him around and that kinda scared her. Almost an hour had passed since the end of the last movie and Caroline still hadn't picked a new one to watch, her eyes were starting to glaze over as she stared at the TV without really seeing anything else as she sighed which Alexis didn't miss.
The older brunette looked at her sympathetically and smiled. They never got to hear from her, except in their group chats; Jess said that she had been busy. It was obvious from the way the girl behaved that something was bothering her.
"You need to go out. Take in some fresh air. You can't be locked in your room for the whole day", she said knowingly. Caroline nodded weakly and smiled.
Alexis was the first one she called when she had a panic attack. She had witnessed Vicki getting killed that evening and it was taking a huge mental toll on her. She had to keep it together for a while but as soon as she entered her room she broke down. Alexis had tried her very best to calm her down and with the help of Noah, she was finally able to convince her that whatever had happened was not her fault. They didn't pry to know the details and Caroline appreciated that.
She didn't want to talk about it and the couple understood that she needed some space. They were still, however, the first ones she came to when she needed someone to talk to.
The couple (With the exception of Liam of course) were always the ones the blonde had called her whenever she felt like she couldn't handle something on her own. They were her shoulder to cry on, her best friends, and her therapists all in one. Noah always knew the right thing to say. It was as if he knew all the ways of the world. And her friends always got straight to the point. If she asked for advice, it was never too hard to give.
"Yeah, I might just go hang out with some friends", Caroline said after a moment, her eyes back on the laptop, "But...I will miss you guys. I wish I could be there". Alexis smiled before saying "Don't be silly, you'll be able to hang out with us on Skype", gesturing to the screen just as her other two friends entered the screen, Jess and Sam were long since telling their friend how much they missed her and how much they hated that she couldn't come to meet them.
"Okay, guys I think gonna go grab some to eat. Also, let's keep the bully JJ agenda to the minimum okay Jess", Caroline jokes.
The girl made a 'tasks sound while the other two laughed. "Alright, just don't stay out too late, and party too hard without us", Jess quipped before adding, "Bye Caroline".
Sam and Alex said goodbye and then the girls hung up.
Caroline looked at her Laptop after turning it off. She felt a little bit calmer now that her friends were all connected to her. With the help of Jess's hilarious jokes, she was feeling better about things than earlier. It was just that Damon's face kept popping up in her mind... and she hated it. When she had gotten so used to him being around?
She turned to look at the bedside clock and realized that she had to get out of bed. It was almost 11 already. She can't stay in bed forever.
She looked at her broken phone on the bedside table. It was a gift from her dad but now it was broken all because of that stupid guy who thought that getting handsy with her was a good idea. She was glad she had the foresight to download all of her contacts into her laptop. Now she could call her friends using the computer instead of using her old, crummy cell.
Maybe she could visit the Grill and get something to eat. They never closed and they had quite a few options she loved.
She got up and started getting ready. She put on a grey tank top, a matching pleated check skirt, and some black boots and combed her hair back into low pigtails. She was pretty pleased with herself. After she finished putting on some makeup, she headed downstairs to grab her coat and purse.
She opened the door and stepped outside. The sun was shining brightly in the sky but it wasn't hot. It was nice and cool, perfect weather for walking around. And she was going to enjoy it.
Liz Forbes was working on paperwork in her office when she received a call from her deputy.
"I have Damon Salvatore here to see you," he said.
"Yeah. Send him in," she said and hung up the phone.
A few minutes later, Damon appeared in her doorway holding a huge box in his hand. His dark clothes were perfectly tailored to his tall, muscular frame. She can see why her daughter hangs out with him so much (Yeah she definitely noticed but that doesn't mean that she is okay with it. He is way too old for her daughter) His smile was warm and friendly yet there was something weird about it. Maybe she just overthinking.
"Mister Salvatore, come on in," Liz said as she stood up and shook his hand, offering him a seat across from her desk as she did so. "Please have a seat," she said with a smile of her own. "Can I get you anything?"
"No thank you," he said as he sat down in one of the chairs across from Liz's desk. "I won't take much of your time."
"I understand from Mrs. Lockwood that your uncle is out the town", Liz stated getting straight to the point.
"Yes, he is. But I spoke with Zach. He filled me in and asked if I could bring this to you", Damon said handing the box he was holding to the Sheriff
Liz took the box from Damon and opened it, revealing several vervain flowers inside.
"Vervain."
"That's all we have at the moment, I hope it's enough", he said lying through his teeth. He had plenty of vervains stored up and there is no way he was telling her that. It would be like telling his enemy where to find his gold.
Liz closed the box of vervain in front of her and sighed, "It's a small circle...Founding families, a few city officials."
"And your deputies, of course, right," Damon added with a smile. "Are we any closer?", he asked curiously.
The older blonde shook her head slowly as she replied, "I think our facts are wrong. We've always believed that vampires can only come out in the dark. What if that's changed?", she uttered
"So is that even possible?", Damon wondered, playing his part to perfection. He wasn't surprised that Liz put two and two together. From what he has heard from Barbie and the extensive folder she provided him, Liz was probably the most efficient one from this so call vampire hunting council.
Liz shrugged, "We've exhausted every other option. We have to consider the vampire may be walking around during the day. Right in front of us."
Damon nodded thoughtfully, "Hm. So what's the next step?"
"We're now looking at anyone new to town, since the deaths began," Liz responded, leaning back into her chair, "Should turn up a suspect or two."
"And I, of course, will do anything I can to help," Damon said with a sinister smile that Liz failed to notice.
Lexi was enjoying her beauty sleep, not that she needed it anyway seeing how vampires don't need sleep. Suddenly, a loud noise jarred her awake, and she opened her eyes and turned to see her least favorite person, Damon Salvatore laying next to her.
"Boo," Damon said. Lexi rolled her eyes and mumbled something incoherent before groaning.
"Hello, Lexi. What an unexpected surprise," he greeted, grinning at his nemesis.
"Unexpected surprise? I think the wrong brother went back to high school," the blonde retorted sarcastically.
"How long are you here for?" he asked, getting to the point.
"Just for Stefan's B-Day," she responded coldly. Damon smirked.
"Oh, you mean you didn't come all this way to see me?" the vampire fake pouted.
She snorted, "That's it Damon. After a century I finally realize death means nothing without you. Do me," she paused for effect, "a favor and kill yourself." Damon scoffed at her words, "Why are you so mean to me?"
"Uh, have you met you? You're not a nice person," she replied dryly. Damon laughed before replying matter-of-factly, "Because I'm a vampire."
"But you're only the bad parts," Lexi retorted. Damon raised an eyebrow, "What?"
"You're a soulless creature. A monster. You are everything that is evil, dark, and cruel about vampires," she said bluntly.
Damon rolled his eyes before smirking, "Teach me to be good," he said as he leaned in close to her ear and whispered, "If you really want me to be, that is," he said mockingly.
He pulled away and chuckled, "Or maybe you want to show me how good you are, hm?"
Lexi wasn't having any of it. She quickly moved, strangling him as she grabbed his neck, choking him with her bare hands. Damon gasped for air as Lexi struggled to hold his head in place.
"I'm older and that means stronger. Don't forget it," she reminded.
"Sorry," he replied breathlessly.
"Don't ruin my time with Stefan, 'cause I'll hurt you. And you know I can do it," Lexi threatened as she relax her grip on his throat.
"Yeah yeah whatever," Damon said, getting up and moving towards the door as he mumbled, "I got a blonde to find anyways."
Caroline was sitting alone in the park, eating her burger and fries. Her mind was somewhere else though. Normally, she would sit at her usual stop at the grill but she just couldn't face Matt. Not after what happened. She had to be strong for a little longer. She had literally witnessed his sister's murder for crying out loud! And she still had to act like everything was normal for the sake of those stupid Salvatore brothers.
Now she was sitting on a bench, looking out at the people passing by and listening to the sounds from the street, the cars driving past, and the music coming from the grill. She was enjoying the peacefulness of the place until a familiar voice interrupted her. She looked up and recognized the person right away. Of course, she knows this guy.
"Hey, Caroline!"
It was Tyler. He sat down beside her and smiled. Caroline looked at him and shrugged.
"Tyler, what are you doing here? Did you come to ask me out again?" Caroline joked.
"Oh please. That was seventh grade. I'm an adult now. I know exactly what I want and I know what I want from you." He said with a smirk.
"Well, I have to tell you," Caroline said laughing, "that it's not gonna happen."
"Well, can't say I didn't try", Tyler said playfully. "So where is your boyfriend anyway? I haven't seen him all morning."
"What boyfriend? Who are you talking about?" Caroline asked confused.
"Come on. The tall, dark hair, handsome guy that I saw you with the other night. Blue eyes, deep and mysterious. I know I've seen him before. I just can't remember where. Now I recall, it's older Salvatore's brother. His name was Damon..., wasn't it?", he asked amused.
Caroline looked at him and blinked, before breaking into laughter. "Oh my god, I can't believe you just said that", she said trying to hold back her giggles.
"What can I say? Sir William says that I need to do a better job at being more descriptive.", Tyler said jokingly.
"You should listen to him. Anyway, I'm sorry but I don't know what you're talking about. He's not my boyfriend. Just a friend who I am showing around town."
"Whatever you say, Caroline. Oh well, I gotta go. Have fun with your mystery man."
"Have fun yourself!", Caroline said sarcastically as Tyler got up.
"Thanks for the chat, I'll see you around."
He winked at Caroline and left, leaving her to continue eating her lunch alone. She turned her attention back to the street as the sounds of the city continued to surround her.
To say Damon was annoyed was an understatement. He had spent the whole morning trying to find that stupid witch Bonnie who stole Emily's necklace from him yesterday. He had no idea where she was and after searching the entire town, he couldn't find a single clue so he gave up. And now he had to deal with the vampire problem (ignoring the fact that he is the vampire problem) because the council was getting suspicious. All he wanted was to enjoy his favorite bourbon in the comfort of his room.
But instead to make matters worse his stupid brother's friend Lexi decided to high-jack his house. So here was, to the only other place in this miserable place that serves somewhat decent bourbon, the grill.
Recently it seemed like things didn't want to go his way. He had agreed to compel Jeremy, Elena's brother coz he didn't want to listen to how her brother doesn't deserve this and should not have to live with this guilt. Damon added threatening to murder the brunette on his to-do list just so she will know that he wasn't one to mess with. But he doesn't think his Blondie would approve of his thoughts. Speaking of Caroline. he's been having trouble getting in touch with her. She hasn't picked up his calls for 48 hours, and he's starting to worry that her witnesses Vicki getting staked was too much for her. Caroline is so chill with everything that sometimes he forgets that she is still a human in high school. She has barely even seen the world yet.
After Elena had successfully drained his energy that night, Damon ended just up putting Vicki's body in the coffin in their basement coz didn't want to deal with that at the moment (yes they have a coffin in their basement. Don't ask why). And since Lexi decided to take over his house, he had no way to get rid of the body. Good thing a vampire's body doesn't rot. As long as it remains intact, they can simply put it under a pile of dirt and it'll be fine.
Damon walked into the Grill, sitting down in the same booth as yesterday. He ordered another round of bourbon and grabbed the newspaper, flipping through the pages. There was nothing interesting in it. He decided to read the business section instead. In less than five minutes, he was done with the article and bored. He threw the paper back onto the table and scanned around the room. The Grill was pretty empty today so he looked around. That's when his eyes fell on a familiar set of blonde hair through the window. Yeah, there she was, sitting by herself, on a park bench, reading a book. He could see her shoulders shaking from her uncontrollable laughter. He watched her for a while, silently watching her until she began to pack up her stuff and leave.
Quickly he paid for his drink and headed outside to catch up to her.
Caroline was walking along the sidewalk, lost in thought about how weird it was that she felt like a stranger in her own hometown. She felt like she was moving through a fog. Like she was running through a dream and she couldn't quite grasp the sudden change. Mystic Falls used to be such a boring place with only a few exceptions. Now it seems like there's always something happening because two vampire brothers decided to cause havoc. The most recent incident has been the death of Vicki Donovan. It made her realize that the girl she knew all her life had died right in front of her eyes.
She turned a corner and stopped when she saw familiar blue eyes standing in front of her, gazing into her soul. She put a hand on her chest as she took a deep breath to steady her breathing.
"Damon! What the hell?!," she yelled out, "Are you trying to give me a heart attack"
He smirked at her reaction, but only for a second before saying, "Hello to you too, Blondie. Care to share some information? Like why haven't picked up any of my calls for the past two days?"
"What? You called?", Caroline asked bewildered.
"Yeah, I did. A lot actually. Where were you?", Damon asked as he folded his arms across his chest and leaned against the wall, waiting for an answer.
"Sorry," Caroline said with a sheepish grin as realization hit home, "I kinda broke my phone at the Halloween Carnival the other day."
"There's a good reason why they call it a 'broken'. You should really get it fixed," Damon said with a sarcastic look.
"Uh-huh, sure," Caroline said with a roll of her eyes, "it's fine. Anyway, why were you calling me?"
"I need you to throw a party here at the grill tonight. Something big."
"Oh, why don't you do it?" Caroline asked curiously.
"Because then Stefan and his BFF won't come. I need a lot of people. Big crowd. Invite everyone," Damon commanded.
Caroline rolled her eyes in annoyance, "Do I look like your assistant, dungeon boy? I know I said I will help you but don't remember signing up for free labor?"
Damon narrowed his eyes at her. "First off, I'm not your dungeon boy."
"Second, you keep forgetting that I am older and stronger than you. If you want something done then you do it."
"Fine, whatever. I'll do it," Caroline said exasperated, "But why am I having this party in the first place?"
"Because you're gonna help me solve this town's little vampire problem. And I want my crystal back. Don't forget that," Damon said with a wink.
"Aren't you the town's vampire problem?", Caroline deadpanned.
Damon shrugged, "I had to start somewhere."
"Well, you can tell me when you figure it out," Caroline said, rolling her eyes once more as she turned her attention to the street ahead of her, trying to avoid looking at Damon. She felt like she was being an accomplice in his crimes.
"How are you getting the crystal back now that it's with Bonnie?"
"I know that. Get it from her," he said with a shrug.
"That's easy for you to say. Why am I the bad guy again?", Caroline asked with a raised eyebrow.
"You're the only one with higher chances that can get Bonnie to do anything seeing how she's your friend. So I need you to convince her to give it back."
"And how am I supposed to do that?"
"Ask nicely," Damon said with a smirk.
"Just like that? I guess I have nothing to lose.", she said frowning as she began walking towards the diner, leaving the raven hair vampire behind as he admired the sway of her hips.
"See you later, Blondie."
She quickly turned her head to give him a dirty look, but her face soon returned to its usual expressionless mask as she continued on her way.
Damon chuckled before turning away and heading towards his car.
"So this Elena girl. She'll come around. I'm sure of it. Have you had sex yet?" Lexi asked Stefan as she sipped on her drink.
"No," he answered honestly without hesitation.
"Why not? Sex always works. I mean you'll rock her world so hard with your vamp sex, she'll be yours forever," Lexi said with a suggestive smile on her face.
Stefan looked at Lexi as if she had grown another head. "Yeah, but see, this isn't about sex or...or compulsion or any of our other tricks. She has to want to be with me on her own terms. She has to choose me. I don't want to force her to do something she doesn't want to do."
Lexi placed her hand on his knee, "Wow. That sounded all mature and grown-up. I bet you're going to win her over in no time."
"I'm not getting any older," Stefan said with a small laugh as Lexi moved toward the bed opens her suitcase, picks up a blood bag, and begins sipping on it.
"Want some?" she offered.
"Nah, thanks."
"Relax I didn't kill anyone for it. This phlebotomist I went out with a few times, he's my supplier", Lexi said, taking another sip. Noticing his incongruous expression she continued, "Oh don't judge, ok? Listen I tried the animal diet; lasted three weeks."
"It doesn't matter. Cause if I started again...I just don't know if...," Stefan said trailing off.
Lexi sighed, "You could stop."
"Lexi, I'd never judge you," Stefan said truthfully.
"I'm just jealous of your restraint. I have none. I delight in hedonism. Speaking of which, what are we doing tonight?"
Just then the bane of their existence. Damon Salvatore walked into the room, "Funny you should ask."
"Well I wasn't asking you," Lexi said arching an eyebrow.
Stefan didn't know what to say so he remained silent.
Ignoring her Damon continued, "There's a party at the grill. You'll love it. Banquettes, Tacky wait staff, All of Stefan's friends. It's perfect."
"Yeah, I don't want a Birthday party," Stefan said flatly.
"Well, It's not for you. It's a party. No one's gonna know it's your birthday. Everyone's favorite blonde Caroline's throwing it," Damon said with a cheeky grin.
"Damon, stay away from Caroline. She's..."
"She's none of your business. She's mine to do as I please," Damon said before leaning down next to the bed and whispering in Stefan's ear, "Besides, you should focus on your own girlfriend instead of bothering about mine."
Stefan groaned, "Ugh, Fine. But I'm warning you. Don't mess with her."
"We're close it's cool. It's important for the town to see us out and about like normal folk. We need to blend. You know that," Damon said in response. Turning to Lexi he noticed the stock of blood bags in her suitcase, "I prefer mine fresh but guess not everyone has taste like me," he said teasingly before he left the room.
Lexi let out an exasperated sigh and turned towards Stefan, "What was all that about? Who Caroline?"
"She's Damon's girlfriend. Or that's what he wants us to believe. You know as well as I do that Damon doesn't do girlfriends. He does conquests and blood bags. He uses them and discards them," Stefan said with a frown.
"That's quite a possessive response for someone who doesn't do girlfriends", Lexi said sarcastically.
Stefan shook his head, "He's dangerous. He's going to hurt her eventually."
The older vampire shook her head, deep in thought, "Somehow I doubt that..."
"It's Weird huh? After all This time joking about being psychic. I really am a witch. You don't think I'm a freak now, do you?" Bonnie asked Elena.
Elena's mind was racing as she tried to process the idea that her best friend had some kind of supernatural powers that she couldn't explain. They were in her room and Bonnie had just finished explaining everything while demonstrating some of her abilities. She could make things float and create tiny flames. She made a ball fly through the air and it landed between them.
"No of course not. Bonnie I just...don't understand though. If your Grams asked you to keep all this a secret, why did you tell me?" Elena asked with a perplexed expression on her face.
"Because you're my best friend and I trust you, besides I can't keep secrets from you," the witch said with a smile, conveniently forgetting about her other best friend.
"I'm almost ready," Lexi announced as she got out of the shower, towel wrapped around her body.
"I can't believe you actually think that we should go to this thing," Stefan whined as he sat on the bed and stared at Lexi as she dry her hair.
"It's not like I'm asking you to run outside midday without your ring. I mean, seriously, it's a party. People are going to be drinking and having fun. What's wrong with that?" Lexi said flicking her hair over her shoulder as she bent down to pick out her clothes.
"You don't understand. A party that Damon wants us to go to, you know? So my question is why? I think he's up to something," Stefan said gesturing dramatically.
"Don't be such a scaredy cat. Who cares what he's up to? What can he possibly of all those people in a public place? Besides, If he wants to play games, then let him. I'll show him who's boss!" Lexi said cheerfully as she moved towards the mirror.
"He knows how to keep a low profile, believe me," Stefan said with a shake of his head.
Lexi sighed, "Okay so he'll behave. Come on. One day a year I get you, one day that you're not brooding and existing in your own head. Let loose. Just one night. And if you're still feeling paranoid, we will leave. Sound good?"
Stefan scoffed, "It's my birthday, yeah?"
"It's my day. And that guy that jump naked in the Trevi fountain and got drunk on the torch of the Statue of Liberty, that guy can take a break from all of his worryings for one night and go to a stupid party. So quit your whining and go get ready."
Stefan grumbled some choice words under his breath before standing up and leaving the room.
Caroline went over the party checklist in her head as she walked down the stairs, making sure that she had everything. She was wearing a tight purple bodycon dress with a plunging neckline, revealing a little cleavage, paired with a pair of black pumps. She checked herself in the mirror as she took a sip from her glass of water. Her lipstick was nude and her long blonde hair was straightened and let loose. She looked good. It wasn't too much makeup, but it still looked sexy. She smiled to herself as she stepped out into the living room.
"Don't you look pleasing to the eye," Damon commented from where he was sitting on the couch scaring her half to death.
"Damn it, Damon! Seriously, when will you stop inviting yourself into my house?" Caroline barked.
"Your place is hardly a safe haven. You might want to move in with me," Damon said suggestively.
"My place is fine thank you very much. Now are you gonna stop creeping me out, or am I gonna have to kick you out," Caroline said glaring daggers at him.
"Wouldn't dream of it," Damon smirked looking up at her, "So how is my party planning going?"
"Eh, it's fine. But I hope you are ready for the cost coz I am not going to spend my savings on this thing," Caroline said crossing her arms.
"It's not a big deal. I am pretty much a millionaire," Damon said with a smirk.
"I don't even want to know," Caroline said shaking her head. Looking at him pointedly she asked, "So what's the plan? The party?"
"Why would there be a plan? Just show up and act like you know everyone. People are going to be drinking and dancing. Hell, I'm willing to bet there won't be a single person sober throughout the entire event," Damon said with a shrug.
"What are you not telling me," Caroline asked suspiciously.
"Nothing," Damon shrugged.
"I will find out anyway," Caroline threatened.
"Fine. Have it your way. There nothing to find anyways, "Damon said as he rose from the couch, "But I would like to see you try."
"I will," Caroline said menacingly before changing the subject, "Is that what you are wearing to the party?" She asked pointing at his outfit.
"And what's wrong with what I'm wearing?" Damon asked looking down at himself. He was wearing a black t-shirt and a pair of jeans, along with his favorite vintage leather jacket.
"Well, other than the fact that your t-shirt is stained with blood, nothing," Caroline said sarcastically.
"Oh, guess I need to change after all. I still look hot though," Damon said with a smirk.
"Sure," Caroline replied rolling her eyes.
"Well, I need to go back to my place and get cleaned up. I will meet you at the Grill," Damon said as he started walking towards the door.
As he opened the front door Caroline called out to him, "Oh, and Damon, next time you invite yourself into my house, I am going to spray you with vervain."
"You wouldn't dare," Damon laughed.
"Try me," Caroline said threateningly.
"Alright, alright," Damon said as he closed the door behind him.
Caroline huffed as she watched his retreating form, "I know that you are hiding something from me Damon. And I am going to find out what," she said glaring at the door.
"Are you out of your freaking mind?" Lexi yelled as she walked into Stefan's room.
"What are you talking about?" Stefan asked, confused.
"I just met Elena," Lexi said incredulously, watching as Stefan's eyes widened in realization. Holding up the vintage photo of Katherine she demanded, "You have some serious explaining to do."
"It's complicated," Stefan said getting up to pace back and forth in his room.
"Complicated my ass. I'm sorry but it looks like you're dating Katherine 2.0," Lexi said matter of factually as she got dressed, "You have some serious emotional damage."
"Jeez Lexi," Stefan groaned as he flopped back onto his bed, "It's not what you think. She's not Katherine."
Lexi raised an eyebrow as she looked at him, "Then they're related, 'cause they can be twins."
"I don't know," Stefan sighed as he leaned back against the wall.
"Really? That's your excuse? You don't know?," Lexi said looking at him skeptically, "You don't know or you didn't find out?"
"No. Maybe. I don't want to know," Stefan said frustratedly, "I have no desire to tie Elena to Katherine." At Lexi's disbelieving look he continued, "Ok yes, yes the resemblance is what drew me in. But that's it. Katherine and Elena may look the same on the outside but on the inside, they are completely different."
"What's that supposed to mean?" Lexi asked sarcastically, "So Elena is not a raging Bitch then, huh?"
"They're not even close. Elena is sweet and innocent and Katherine is...well, Katherine. Elena is...Elena's warm and she's...she's kind, and she's caring, and she's selfless, and it's real," Stefan said with a sigh, "And honestly when I'm around her, I...I completely forget what I am."
"Oh my god! You're in love with her," Lexi said shocked.
"Honesty, I am not sure."
A/N: Hi it's been a while
After saving for so long, I was finally able to buy a new phone , but in the process lost my socials, Wattpad being one of them. So I finally was able to log into this account but then life caught up. Now I am in my third year of college.
Anyways, I am not going to abandon this story no matter how many years it takes me. I am also going to start with one of my original stories called
"The Villainess"
It's just like your average rebirth story but with a twist. Do check it out...
Also, I decided to start a ... I am going to post chapters for all my stories on there first and you all guys can also vote for how your want the plot to go, with a bunch of other things, so do check that out if that interests you. Link in bio...
Okay, enough of my shenanigans.
What did you think about this chapter?
I decided to add a Tyler and Caroline scene at the last minute. In the show it was know that the characters were pretty children friends but the friendships always came out as superficial .
Fun fact, Caroline ends up with Tyler in the TVD books. She is not a vampire but instead a werewolf. Also she is a red-head
Things are about to go down in the next chapter. Still confused about what I want to do with the Lexi situation
Until next time
