Chapter 2:

I am back! Just kidding, I literally just posted the first rewrite chapter and am now starting the second chapter at 2 AM. YAY! What time is it right now for you? Let me know and enjoy!

3rd Person POV:

It was a long night. Lois had called her father, to come before the police arrived. The DOD had taken over the investigation. Clark and Lois had been able to get a little rest in the morning, the DOD had taken the young woman's body to headquarters to try and figure out her identity. But when they woke up, they still had a set of problems to deal with that could be summed up in one little sleeping bundle. He was in Clarks' arms being rocked as they discussed him with the general.

"We took a little blood, and ran it through some tests" Sam explained, "the young woman is, in fact, his mother." The young couple sighed sadly at that.

"But there is something else… he is only half human"

"Half human?" Clark asked. "Yes, we aren't able to identify his father's half, but that boy is not normal." he informed us pointing at the sleeping baby in Clarks arms.

"So…have you two decided what you're going to do with him," Sam asked tentatively. "I know a couple of orphanages, one that specializes in cases like this…"

"No. Clark and I discussed it. We're going to adopt him." Lois interrupted.

Sams' jaw dropped in shock. He recovered quickly though. "Adopt him?! Are you out of your mind?! The risks that could come with this… his mother knew who you were Clark. THAT is dangerous in and of itself. That isn't even covering whether you two are even ready to become parents. And we don't even know what he is or what he can do. It would be better to keep him somewhere we can keep an eye on him at all times."

"No," Clark responded strongly. "Lois and I have already made the decision. And yes, of course, I know how dangerous this could be for us, and we can handle whatever it might be. And as for whether we're ready to be parents, well, I don't think anyone is ever ready for a responsibility like that. But his mother gave him to US. She trusted US. And we're gonna do our damn best to make sure her trust wasn't misplaced."

Sam looked to Lois to see where she stood on the subject and it was clear that she was in agreement with Clark. Sam's posture drooped in defeat. "I hope you know what you're doing with this."

"We do" I hope Lois thought.

"Look, he's waking up," Clark told them. Lois jumped up from her seat and ran to his side to see. There he was, squirming in the blanket wrapped around him with closed eyes. Finally, his eyes opened. Brilliant green eyes looked up at them both. And he smiled. And they fell for him.

Lois beckoned the general over. "Would you like to meet your grandson?"

It hadn't hit Sam that he would now technically be a grandfather yet. Flabbergasted, he slowly walked over to them. He couldn't help but smile at the little thing.

"Now we just need a name" Clark mentioned.

Sam's eyebrows jumped up, "He has one already I think." Clark and Lois were surprised.

"What do you mean," they asked.

"On the blanket he was originally in, it had a name embroidered on it. Perseus. It said Perseus."

"Perseus? That's an odd name." Lois said.

"It's the name of a Greek hero," Clark mentioned. "One of the very few that had a happy ending."

"Hmm… Perseus," Lois repeated trying the sound out, "I like it."

"Perseus it is" Clark finalized. "Sam, could you help us work out the adoption papers please?"

"Of course. Oh and also," He replied reaching into his pocket, "This pendant was also with Perseus. But we can't seem to identify the metal."

"Thank you general." As Sam stepped out leaving to head back to base. Leaving the young couple with their new child.

"My mom is gonna freak," Clark said with a chuckle. Lois laughed.

"We'll call her right now and tell her the good news. She's gonna be so proud of you."

"Thank you. I love you."

AN: Awesome! Took me two days to write, but I wrote it. Hope you liked it! If you read the original… spot the difference!? Anywhoo… Next chapter will see Percy a little older, at least old enough to form coherent sentences, maybe. Haven't decided yet. I have the overall plot figured out, just not each individual chapter and every detail. There will be an entire arc before we reach the show's plotline. So hang tight, chill, and enjoy!

P.S. constructive criticism is welcome!
