Pokémon RWBY

Chapter 1

So, this is my take on a fic where Team RWBY gets transported to another world, with the world in this fic being the world of Pokémon. They will be adventuring through a Region that is an original creation of mine with Gym Leaders that a friend and I thought up in High School.

Disclaimer: Pokémon belongs to Nintendo and RWBY belongs to Monty Oum, God rest his soul. May the legacy of his Remnant live on forever in our hearts and minds.

It had been a tiring day for team RWBY. Earlier, the team had accidentally learned that, not only was their teammate, Blake, a Faunus, but that she was also a former member of the White Fang, a group of terrorists that once had been a group of Faunus Rights Activists. Later, while searching for her, the team had ended up in a fight with White Fang operatives at the docks as the group tried to steal a shipment of Dust. The fight had been quick, but grueling and now the girls were ready to hit their makeshift bunk beds and sleep till noon.

However, Fate had other plans for them.

"Wha?" groaned Ruby Rose, the red themed leader of team RWBY, "Where am I?"

She looked around and she saw that she was not in their dorm at Beacon anymore, and instead was lying in a grassy clearing with her team on the ground around her. They were dressed in their combat gear, having been too tired to change after the fight at the docks, but their weapons and Dust were nowhere to be seen.

"What's going on?" exclaimed Ruby, "Am I dreaming? What is this place?"

"Ugh, Ruby," groaned Weiss, Ruby's white themed partner, "turn off that light and stop making so much noise. We have class in the morning."

"Actually," said Blake as she sat up, ears twitching under her bow as she blearily looked around, "I think classes are the least of our worries now."

"What are you…" groaned Weiss, trailing off as she realized what was going on, "…oh."

"What are you guys arguing about?" groaned Yang as she sat up, "…Well, this is a weird dream."

"Yang, I don't think this is a dream," said Ruby nervously.

"Of course it's a dream," said Yang, "what other explanation is there? Besides, that's exactly what you'd say in a dream."

Blake sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose before walking over to her partner and slapping her upside the head.

"Ow!" exclaimed Yang, "Fine, ok, this isn't a dream. You could have just pinched me."

"I think we have more immediate concerns," said Weiss, "such as where we are and how we were transported here without our knowing."

"And the more immediate-er immediate concerns!" exclaimed Ruby, "Our weapons are gone!"

The other three teens were silent for a moment before Weiss turned to her partner, pinching the bridge of her nose in frustration, "Ruby, how is that more important than us being spirited away to the middle of nowhere?!"

"Also, your grammar needs work," Blake put in from the side.

"You three don't understand!" exclaimed Ruby, "My poor Crescent Rose is all alone now!"

"Can we please focus!" ground out Weiss, "We've obviously been abducted and taken to some remote location for some apparent reason! We need to find out where we are and call for help. Does everyone have their scrolls?"

The other three members of Team RWBY nodded, pulling their scrolls out from pockets on their respective outfits and checked them out.

"No luck," said Blake, "wherever we are, our scrolls don't have access to the CCTS."

"But that's impossible," said Weiss, "the CCTS Towers can transmit all across Remnant. The only reason the network would go down is if one of the relay towers stopped transmitting for some reason."

"Do you think whatever force brought us here also disabled the CCTS?" asked Blake.

"Whatever is going on, we need to find a way back to Beacon," said Ruby, "and the first step is to figure out where we are right now."

"Uh, Ruby," said Yang nervously, hearing movement coming from the trees, "I think we have bigger problems. Look."

Ruby turned to see her sister pointing at several lupine creatures with black fur and orange snouts, and white bone markings on their bodies, emerging from the trees, growling viciously as they advanced upon the four Huntresses in training.

"Any idea what these things are?" asked Ruby nervously.

"They don't look like any Grimm I've seen before," said Blake as she backed away from the growling creatures.

"Well, we can take them…right?" said Yang warily as she got into her usual combat stance, albeit without her trusty shotgun gauntlets.

As if in response to her question, one of the creatures leapt at Yang, and tried to bite down on her arm, her Aura being the only thing protecting her from its sharp fangs as she knocked the creature aside, the other members of the pack took that as a signal to attack and leapt at the four teens, forcing them to dodge away from the beasts as they were attacked with their sharp fangs and claws. The four were doing fairly well thanks to their Aura protecting them, when suddenly one of the hounds opened its mouth and spat a ball of fire that slammed into Weiss, knocking her to the ground as her Aura was depleted.

"Weiss!" exclaimed Ruby as she rushed to her partner's side.

"I'm alright," said Weiss as she gripped the area the fireball had impacted, "what are those things? They're like some kind of fire breathing wolves."

"Are they some new kind of Grimm?" asked Yang as she dodged a fireball.

"More importantly," noted Blake as the creatures began to encircle them, fire forming in their maws, "how are we going to get out of this. Our Aura won't hold forever."

Suddenly though, a figure leapt out into the clearing, landing between the teens and the hounds as he pulled out a spherical object out and threw it up into the air, "Tesla, use Discharge!"

The sphere opened up at the zenith of its upward arc and released a burst of energy that formed into a feline creature with black fur except for its face and paws which were blue along with a small mane and a yellow star on the tip of its tail. Said creature then released a blast of blue lightning that struck each of the hound creatures, causing them to cry out in pain and retreat back into the forest where they came from.

"Good job Tesla," said the man the creature that had shot lightning at the hounds landed, scratching said creature behind the ears.

"Luxio!" said the creature happily as it leaned into his hand.

"Are you girls alright?" asked the man as he turned around, allowing the girls to finally see who had rescued them. The man wore a Black vest over a red shirt and black jeans and had fair skin and silver hair that hung to his neck and was tied in the back in a small ponytail. He wore a pair of glasses on his face and had a decently sized bag on his back, "Why didn't you call on your Pokémon to defend yourselves?"

"We're fine sir," said Weiss as she dusted herself off, "but may I ask a question: what's a Pokémon?"

The man froze before slowly taking in the four teens in their scuffed-up outfits, with no travel or camping gear whatsoever, "…you four," he said warily, "you don't know what Pokémon are?"

"If you mean those things that attacked us, then we haven't seen anything like it before today," said Weiss, "are they what you refer to when you speak of these Pokémon?"

"Sort of," said the man, "they're just one species of Pokémon. I don't believe I caught your names by the way. I'm Alexander Drake and this is Tesla, another breed of Pokémon known as a Luxio."

"Luxio Lux Lux," said Tesla happily.

"Aw, he's so cute," said Yang as she leaned down to pet Tesla, but the Luxio angrily growled at her, causing her to recoil.

"Sorry," said Alex as he chuckled, "but Tesla's a girl."

"Oh," said Yang.

"Well," said Ruby, "I'm Ruby Rose."

"Weiss Schnee," said Weiss.

"Blake Belladonna," said Blake simply as Tesla walked over to her, sniffed her hand and began to nuzzle into it.

"Hey!" protested Yang upon seeing the Pokémon taking to her partner so easily, but an elbow to the ribs via her younger sister got her back on track, "Oh, and I'm Yang Xiao-Long."

"It's a pleasure to meet you four," said Alex, "though I am wondering why you're out here and how you ended up here in the forest without any Pokémon on hand."

"That's the thing," said Ruby, "where exactly are we? What Kingdom are we in?"

"We're in the Gateway Forest in the Fenice Region," said Alex, "we're not far from Daybreak Town though."

"Is that anywhere near Vale?" asked Yang, causing Alex to frown.

"Maybe it'd be best to make our way to town as fast as possible," said Alex, "we'd not want to have to deal with more wild Pokémon. Professor Hawthorn has his lab in Daybreak Town and I think he'd want to hear your story and might have some answers to your questions."

"Sounds like a plan," said Yang, "I'm all for getting out of this forest as soon as possible."

"Same here," said Blake as she glanced at the affectionate Tesla and noted a bit of a static buzz going through her arm as she scratched the Luxio's head.

"Let's get going then," said Alex, "I'd rather us reach town before sundown. The forest can get dangerous to navigate at night if you're not prepared."

xXsceneXx

The group traveled at a brisk pace for an hour or so before reaching the edge of the forest as evening was approaching and the four Huntresses in training found themselves at the entrance to Daybreak Town. It wasn't much different than many towns that existed in smaller parts of Mantle, Vale, Vacuo, Mistral or even Menagerie, but it had a strange vibe that the girls couldn't put their finger on. Almost as if they felt normal, yet out of place in this small town.

"Follow me," said Alex as he led them into town, "the Professor's Lab is right this way."

"So, this professor," said Yang, "what does he teach?"

"Professor Hawthorn isn't a teacher," chuckled Alex, "she's a scientist researching the world of Pokémon. She knows a lot about strange phenomena and he might be able to better explain what happened to put you four out in the middle of Gateway Forest. Ah, we're here."

They had arrived at a large building that was built in a tall cylindrical shape with a domed roof made of glass and had a large yard stretching behind the building with all sorts of those strange creatures that Alex had called Pokémon running about. Alex led the four girls inside where a ginger haired woman wearing a lab coat and glasses was sitting at a desk in the center of the room, typing at a computer.

"Professor Hawthorn," called out Alex, getting the woman's attention.

"Ah, Alex," said the woman as she looked up with a kind smile, "you're back so soon? I thought your project in the forest was going to keep you busy until tomorrow?"

"There was a bit of a development," said Alex, "I found these four in a clearing in the forest, and after listening to them, I felt you might have more answers to their questions. Girls, why don't you explain what happened to the professor here?"

"Well," said Ruby, "we're not sure exactly. We were getting ready to sleep in our room at Beacon and the next thing we knew, we're lying in the middle of the forest."

"I see," said the professor, "and what is this Beacon place?"

"Beacon is the Huntsman Academy in Vale," said Yang, "We're students there training to be Huntresses."

"And Vale is a continent?" asked the Professor, "Or is it a city?"

"It's one of the four Kingdoms of Remnant," said Weiss hesitantly, wondering how this professor did not know this basic information, "as well as being the name of the capital city on said continent."

"I see," said Professor Hawthorn before standing up, "girls, I believe I understand what has happened, though I am not quite sure as to how. Tell me, are any of you familiar with the Multiverse theory?"

Ruby and Yang just had blank expressions at that, but Weiss and Blake nodded in understanding.

"It's the theory that every action we take, causes a number of alternate dimensions to spring forth, each based on the choices we didn't make and the actions we didn't take," said the cat Faunus.

"To put it simply," sighed Weiss, seeing the confusion on Ruby and Yang's faces, "say I flip a coin into the air and it comes up heads, several alternate dimensions are created for each option that did not happen. One for if the coin came up tails, one for if the coin missed my hand, one for if it managed to land on its edge, and so on."

"And using that theory," said Professor Hawthorn, "a world can exist that is completely different from the original due to events happening differently as far back as said world's inception."

"Professor," said Alex, "surely you cannot be suggesting that dimensional travel is involved! Such a thing is unheard of."

"Counterpoint," said the Professor, "Palkia, Giratina, and Hoopa."

"Touché," nodded Alex.

"Wait," said Yang, "hold up. You can't be saying that we're actually in a different dimension, can you?"

"I am," said Professor Hawthorn with a nod.

"That's preposterous!" exclaimed Weiss, "The Multiverse Theory is just that: a theory! There is no scientific basis for dimensional travel, or any concrete proof that other dimensions could even exist! Even Atlas's best scientists could never find any solid basis to prove the existence of a multiverse, resulting in the theory being dismissed as…"

"Uh Weiss," said Ruby weakly from one of the windows, "you might want to come over here."

"In a moment Ruby," replied Weiss.

"I reeeally think you should see this Weiss," stressed her Partner, causing the Heiress to huff and walk over to the window.

"Honestly Ruby, what could be so important that…" sighed Weiss, trailing off as she reached the window and looked out at what Ruby was pointing to, "…impossible."

"What is it?" asked Yang as she and Blake headed over to the window as well, and like the two before them, they couldn't hide how shocked they were at what they saw.

"Th-the moon," breathed Blake in astonishment.

"It can't be," said Yang in denial.

The members of Team RWBY couldn't deny what their eyes were telling them. For out the window, in the night sky, was undeniable proof that they were no longer in Remnant. The full moon, whole and unbroken, shining down in the sky.
