"Teen Dating"

This is dedicated to Mew Spade. Happy 13th birthday!

"Remind me why I'm doing this again?" Matt asked.

He and TK were going through his closet looking for an outfit for a date that had been set up for him by the girls.

Matt and Sora had broken up, but it was a mutual situation when they found they just weren't as in love with each other as they used to be after three years.

Unfortunately, someone else had been down in the dumps since a bad break up, so the girls had come up with an idea that setting them both up on a date would help them both move on.

"Because you agreed and if you back out now, the girls will all kill you." TK reminded.

Mat groaned as he picked out a black t-shirt, black books and jeans to wear since he didn't want to make a big effort to look good.

After all, the girl he was going out with…was Daisuke.

She had been dating a boy on the soccer team, but then she caught him cheating on her with a cheerleader and then she confronted them both, breaking up with the jerk and then breaking his nose while the cheerleader ran off crying before she could get hurt too.

"Look, I get she had a bad break up and needs to start dating again, but why does it have to be with me?" Matt asked.

"Because you need to start dating too. And besides, she's your friend so it'll make things better to deal with." TK said.

"Yeah right." Matt muttered.

"Matt, she's not the same brat she was when we were younger. She's really grown up and matured. You'd know that if you actually spent some time with her." TK scolded.

"No thanks." Matt said.

TK groaned at how childish his brother was acting.

Daisuke had truly come a long way from the girl she used to be and had become a wonderful woman; it was just too bad that Matt didn't believe him.

Boy was he going to be in for a surprise when he stopped over at the Motomiyas' to pick the girl up for their date.

(At the Motomiyas…)

"I hate you all." Daisuke said as Mimi was fixing her hair.

Kari was holding out different tops, comparing them to see which one would fit for the date.

"Come on now, everything will turn out just fine." Sora said as she walked over with the make-up kit.

Mimi finished off with the mahogany hair and then let Sora work on the make-up, telling Daisuke to suck in her cheeks so that she could apply the blush.

"How do you know? Matt and I never got along that well before, but we've never spent any time together afterwards. He didn't even know I had a boyfriend until you told him." Daisuke pointed out.

"Well, he's going to want to spend more time with you after he sees how gorgeous you've become." Mimi smiled.

The mahogany haired girl smiled at that as she blushed at the compliment and then took the clothing that Kari picked out and then she changed into the blue tube top, black skirt and gold wedge shoes.

When she was done, the doorbell then rang making the girls smile while Daisuke just sighed as Mimi went over to the door to open it.

There stood Matt looking bored out of his mind and like he wanted to be elsewhere than at the Motomiyas.

"Hey Matt, Daisuke's ready. Come on in." Mimi smiled.

"Sure." He said as he walked in and the door was closed behind him.

He glanced around to see if Jun were here or even her parents, but he couldn't see or hear them.

Sora then came out of a room that he assumed was Daisuke's and gave a curious look when he saw her holding a purse that was blue.

"I thought I was going out with Daisuke." He said.

"Hmm? You are, this is Daisuke's purse. She and Kari will be out soon." Sora said.

Kari was trying to talk Daisuke out of running to the Digital World to escape this date, but Sora didn't feel the need to tell Matt the truth.

Matt just nodded at that as Kari walked out dragging Daisuke with her and his eyes widened at how she looked.

Daisuke was popularly known as a tomboy who dressed in lose fitting clothing, but right now she was wearing an outfit that showed off her grown womanly body and had her hair down from her usual ponytail and it was in waves while she wore a peach colored gloss and faint blush.

Mimi, Sora and Kari were smiling at their accomplishment of making Matt speechless from just looking at Daisuke and soon he'll be more surprised when he sees how much she has changed over the years.

When Matt just stood there staring, Daisuke felt nervous and wanted to cover up quickly, but just cleared her throat to snap the blonde out of his daze.

"So…should we get going?" she asked.

"Uh, yeah, sure." Matt said brushing his bangs out of his face.

Sora handed Daisuke her purse and then the three remaining girls watched as the two Keepers of Friendship walked out of the apartment.

"This was a good idea, wasn't it?" Kari asked.

"Of course it is. They both need each other because they suit each other." Sora said.

"Besides, no two people argue that much unless they were covering up their true feelings for each other." Mimi laughed.

Outside, Daisuke and Matt went down to the black sports car that the blonde owned and slid into their respective seats before Matt started up the engine and then proceeded to drive off.

For the first five minutes he noticed it was quiet.

Far too quiet.

Normally Daisuke was a hard person to shut up, but there she was sitting there next to him silently as she played with the gold circular locket she wore around her neck while her eyes were watching the street and people outside.

"So where do you wanna go?" he asked.

"I don't really care." She said softly.

Nodding at this Matt decided to just go to a restaurant to get something to eat and then go out to see a movie.

TK was right about her changing over the years; in fact, he could barely recognize that kid she used to be and this came as a shock to him.

"Hey, how about we head over to the old pizza place down by the pier?" Matt suggested.

"Yeah, sounds good to me." Daisuke said turning to him for a brief second to give a grin.

Smiling at this, Matt drove off to the old pizza place the younger generation went to all the time to hang out.

They soon made it to the pizza parlor and both walked out, going inside silently and then Matt just let Daisuke lead him over to the table the younger generation always sat at which was empty, almost as if it were fate that knew they would arrive.

Dai slid into the booth on one side and then Matt slid into the other one, both picking up the menus and checking them over.

"So what do you normally order here?" Matt asked.

"Well, everyone's picky about what we eat, so we just order a cheese pizza to share since it's pretty safe for all of us to eat. Sometimes we just get a mini pizza for ourselves that we want." Daisuke answered as she looked over the selections.

"OK, well how about we get a meat lover's special?" Matt asked.

Daisuke blinked at him, but smiled and nodded.

"Sounds good to me." she said which made him smile knowing that the date was going fine at the moment and prayed it kept going that way.

A woman in her twenties walked over to their table and smiled sultry like when she saw Matt and completely ignored Daisuke's presence.

"Hi there. Are you ready to order?" she asked him.

Matt quirked an eyebrow at the woman who was obviously older than him and was pretty with her blue eyes and raven colored hair and flawless ivory skin, but she didn't seem to be his type.

"Actually, my date and I are." He smirked as he reached across the table and took Daisuke's hand.

She looked at him curiously and blushed as he kissed her knuckles while staring intently into her eyes while the woman scowled at them both.

"All right then, so what will you and your date be having?" the woman asked, sneering the word 'date'.

Chocolate eyes flitted over to the woman and then smirked as she caught on to what Matt was doing.

"Well, honey, why don't you order for us?" Daisuke asked.

Azure eyes filled with amusement as he realized she was on board with his plan to drive this woman insane by acting all flirty like in front of her.

"Gladly, babe." He said winking at her as she giggled.

It was her real laughter, not that fake laughter that most girls would fake just to make a guy feel better about themselves or when a girl flirts.

He had to say, it wasn't the best sounding laugh ever, but it was real and he liked it.

"We'll take a medium meat lover's special and two Pepsis thanks." Matt said to the woman who was red in face in jealousy.

"Of course. Right away." She said as she strutted off.

As soon as she was gone, the two Keepers of Friendship laughed at the show they put on.

"Now that was rich." The blonde said.

"I didn't think you'd come up with something like that. Weren't you worried about being rude?" Daisuke asked.

"Honestly, after dealing with fangirls of all ages throwing themselves at me, even when I was dating Sora, I don't really care about being rude anymore." Matt said.

"Hmm, point taken. But what do ya wanna bet she spits in my drink?" the mahogany haired girl asked.

Matt hummed in thought, playing with his date's fingers as his hand was on top of hers on the table.

He was a bit surprised with how well he had just adjusted to acting this way with her, but shrugged it off and decided to just act on instinct and have fun.

"I'd say about 48% chance of her doing that." He answered.

"Ugh, I should've asked for a can then." Daisuke groaned playfully.

She was also surprised with how at ease she was with talking with Matt since she was expecting the worst, but now she was really enjoying herself since he relaxed first.

Just then, the radio that was playing music in the parlor switched onto a different song that made her perk up and smile as she realized what song it was.

"Like a gift from the heavens

It was easy to tell

It was love from above that could save me from hell

She had fire in her soul

It was easy to see

How the devil himself could be pulled out of me

There were drums in the air as she started to dance

Every soul in the room keeping time with her hands."

"You like this song?" Matt asked snapping her out of her thoughts.

"Yeah, actually 'Into the Night' is my favorite song." Daisuke smiled with a small blush on her face.

He returned it as he listened to the music, listening to the lyrics, the obvious guitar playing being by Santana while Chad Kroeger sang the song.

At least she had great taste in music.

"I like this song too. I actually tried to play it once before." He confessed.

"Seriously? I would've loved to see that." She said.

A different woman then came over with the pizza and drinks, setting the two closed bottles on the table and the steaming pizza.

"Here you go lovebirds. Enjoy." She said with a wink to them before walking off.

"Huh, looks like she was replaced by someone more sane." Daisuke commented making Matt smirk.

He could definitely see this date going further than just a one-time deal.

They then went to enjoying their meal and talking at the same time, then they went off to the movie theaters to watch whatever was playing which was a horror movie, but Daisuke wound up falling asleep during it much to Matt's amusement as she cuddled up into his side.

It was about 3:00 pm when Matt finally drove Daisuke back to her apartment, both walking up to her floor, laughing and talking along the way.

TK, Kari, Sora and Mimi were in the child of Miracles' apartment when they heard them coming.

"They're back." Sora said as she checked the peephole.

"Ooh, move. I wanna see what's going on." Mimi whispered excitedly.

"Guys, this is immoral." TK said.

"Oh, shut up. We're trying to find lonely people love. Let us work." Kari scolded as she pushed him aside and ran to the door.

Sighing at their behaviour, TK joined them as they all listened to what was being said by the couple.

"You know, this was actually pretty fun." Matt said with his arm around Daisuke's shoulders.

"I know. Wasn't expecting that." She said making him chuckle as she smiled and blushed.

He noticed that she did that a lot and he loved it when she blushed, it was adorable.

"So, is this our only date or what?" he asked.

She hummed in thought and smirked at him as he returned it and leaned down, resting his forehead on hers and felt a swell of happiness as he saw her cheeks darken.

"I'd say we can go for another one. Maybe you can show me if you can play better than Santana." She challenged.

"Oh, gladly." He accepted.

His hands then cupped her cheeks and he looked into her eyes, asking for permission and she nodded which was all he needed to continue as he bent down and let his lips settle over her own while her hands were on his biceps as she moved her lips against his.

"What's going on?" TK whispered.

Mimi, who was looking through the peephole, was trying desperately to contain her squeals of joy at the sight.

"They're kissing." She managed to get out without giving them away.

Sora and Kari smiled to each other while TK smirked.

"I knew he liked her." He said.

"Duh, it was obvious." Kari said.

As for the new couple, Matt pulled away from Daisuke as they both smiled at each other.

"I'll call ya later, OK?" he asked kissing her forehead.

"OK. See ya." She said as she pulled away.

Matt smiled at her as he then walked off to the elevator and Daisuke then opened up the door, jumping back in shock when the children of Love, Sincerity, Hope and Light all fell out of her apartment and onto the floor.

Getting over her shock, Daisuke then frowned at them with her hands on her hips.

"Were you guys spying on us?" she asked.

They all looked up nervously at her while she had her hands on her hips.

"No, of course not. We just couldn't wait to hear about your date." Sora said.

Sighing at this, Daisuke stepped over the pile of bodies and walked into her apartment while the four watched her.

"That went well." TK said.

The end.
