"Courage and Friendship, Love and Sincerity"

This is a mix of requests done for Knight of Loyalty and LuckyVeemon. Please enjoy and review!

Yolei Inoue was looking around the courtyard for Davis, worried over where he was since he had been missing from school for the past few days.

The others were worried as well, but they were sure he would turn up soon enough and he would tell them why he was gone.

Sighing, the child of Love and Sincerity looked around for the child of Miracles yet again until finally she found him and couldn't help the blush that burned her cheeks.

Davis Motomiya was playing basketball with some other boys, shirtless and sweat was glistening over his tanned skin while his muscles moved as he jumped up and dunked the ball in the net.

Over the years Yolei had always teased the adorable boy to push away her feelings for him, trying to point out his flaws constantly to turn away her affection for the boy who was only a year younger than her, but now at the age of 17, it was nearly impossible.

The boy was kind, charming, caring and he had an amazing body that she knew many girls gushed about in the locker rooms.

Pushing herself up from her seat on the picnic table, Yolei walked over when the game ended, Davis laughing with the other boys, his spikey hair slightly longer that it hung around his face.

As if he knew she was coming, Davis' chocolate eyes met Yolei's caramel ones and the look in them made her heart beat faster.

"Hey Yolei, what's up?" he greeted as he used his towel to dab the sweat on his face.

"Seriously? You've been missing for a few days and that's all you can say?" Yolei demanded trying to remind herself to be annoyed with him.

It was very hard when she was so close to that body of his and looking into those eyes that showed the emotions inside of him.

She had once felt what was inside of his heart long ago when they fought to save the earth from evil and helped Ken fight his fear of the darkness.

What was inside his heart was pure and amazing; Kari even admitted that she had felt it along with Cody and TK.

It was so pure, kind and warm inside of Davis' heart and it gave everyone else power.

"I had some personal things to deal with. It's not a big deal. I just don't want to bother you guys." Davis said.

"Davis, we're friends. We want to get involved so we can help you." Yolei stated.

He stayed quiet at that as he looked over at the guys who were laughing and joking around with each other.

"This is just something I need to do on my own. Don't worry about it. If I can't handle it on my own, then I'll come to your guys for help. I promise." Davis turned to her with a smile.

She frowned at that as he then walked over to his friends who then started to tease him about talking to his 'girlfriend' which made Davis' face light up in a blush.

"Just what is he hiding?" Yolei asked herself.

(The next day…)

"Yolei, I hope you won't do anything dumb." Kari commented as she sipped her soda.

"But he's been acting different lately, right after he disappeared. Doesn't that seem strange to you?" Yolei asked.

"Not really. I mean, he is a teenager and a boy. They often do things like this. He's probably going through a phase." The child of Light suggested.

"Who's going through a phase?" TK asked as he, Ken and Cody walked over holding their trays.

"Davis. By the way, have you seen him today?" Kari asked as her plum haired boyfriend sat next to her and kissed her cheek briefly.

"I saw him during math and get this. He actually fell asleep. Then, when the teacher called him out on it, all he did was look at her and she left him alone. He didn't get a detention or anything at all." TK exclaimed.

"Really? That is strange." Cody commented as he began eating his rice ball.

"Maybe she just saw he wasn't feeling well and left him to rest. He does look a bit rundown. I wonder if he was sick." Ken mused as he thought over his DNA partner's behaviour.

"Can you guys not talk about me behind my back?" Davis requested as he sat down next to Yolei.

Everyone jumped in surprise from the boy's sudden appearance since they hadn't seen him walk up let alone heard him.

Usually he called out to someone in greeting when he was walking in the cafeteria or his footsteps were heavier as he walked and finally, he always sat either beside Kari or Ken.

Seeing him sitting next to the lavender haired girl as if it were natural and then began picking through his lunch was a surprise.

"Um, hey, Davis. You feeling okay?" TK asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little tired. Why?" Davis asked as he tore through his steak sandwich.

"Well, you have been missing for a few days. Where were you?" Cody asked.

"I just wasn't feeling well. I didn't wanna bother you guys with it. By the way, Yolei, are you using a new conditioner?" the child of Miracles asked.

"Oh, um, yeah." She said twirling a strand of hair around her finger shyly.

"Smells good. Anyway, TK, wanna play a game after school?" Davis asked turning his attention to the blond.

Yolei was blushing lightly at the compliment, thinking of how the boy knew she was using a different conditioner unless he had been checking her out.

"Yeah, sounds good to me. We can head to the basketball court after school, but I need to be home by 5:00 pm. We're having a family dinner with Dad and Matt." TK smiled.

"Sounds like fun." Kari commented.

After that, they continued on talking as usual, Yolei casually glancing at Davis to see if he would do anything else different and he caught her a few times, smirking victoriously when he saw her look away with a blush.

The bell then rang, signaling the students to return to their classes and Yolei struggled with her tray and books, so Davis grabbed the tray from her.

"Um, Davis?" she questioned.

"Get to class. I'll throw this away." He smiled at her.

Ken and Kari watched the interaction between the two, glanced at each other, then giggled as they sensed the attraction between them.

Tai had gotten together with Mimi a year after Matt and Sora started dating, so it made sense that their successors would eventually develop feelings for each other.

"When do you think they'll get together?" Kari whispered to her boyfriend as they walked off.

"Hmm, hard to tell. It might be the one who gets the most impatient." Ken answered.

(Next month…)

Davis hadn't gone to school that day and it made Yolei worry as she kept twirling a strand of hair around her finger, trying to convince herself he was fine.

It was near to the same date when the boy had disappeared last month and it scared her that he had gotten into trouble.

When the bell rang for lunch, Yolei jumped out of her seat and quickly went to her locker.

She made up her mind that she would go visit the boy at home to check up on him, just to give her some peace of mind.

After grabbing her schoolbag, she left and ran off towards the apartment the Motomiya family lived in, but she had to pass her family's convenience store first.

Looking at the window, he saw that her mother had her back turned and was working on some of the taxes, so the lavender haired girl quickly ran off.

Making it to the apartment building, she let out a breath of relief and took the elevator to the 23rd floor and then ventured down the hallway until she came to the oak door that had the Motomiyas' mailbox beside it with their name on it.

Lifting her hand, Yolei rang the doorbell twice, then waited for someone to answer it.

When a minute went by, she rang it twice again, an unsettling feeling rising in her stomach.

"Davis, are you in there?" she called as she started to bang on the door with her fist.

Groaning was heard as well as the stumbling of feet coming closer to the door.

Narrowing her eyes in worry, Yolei then stepped back when the door was opened a crack and two golden colored eyes peered out making her gasp.

"Yolei, what are you doing here?" the male asked.

"Davis? You didn't come to school, I wanted to come check on you." she said.

He chuckled lightly, though it was weak as he leaned against the door, looking so tired.

"Thanks, but I'll be fine." He assured.

"You said that if you needed help, you'd ask for it." she reminded with a glare.

"I am…"

Davis cut himself oof as he gave a grunt of pain and stumbled back into the apartment, falling to the ground.

"Davis!" Yolei cried out.

Pushing the door open, she gasped when she found the boy was dressed in only a pair of old sweat pants and he also had a pair of large mahogany ears on his head.

Turning onto his side as he moaned in pain, he showed off a silky tail with the same mahogany hair he had.

"What…what is this?" Yolei asked stunned.

Moving his head to the side, Davis gave her a watery smile, as if begging her not to be afraid and or view him as a freak of nature as he groaned and writhed on the floor in pain.

The sound of his bones popping made her feel sick to her stomach, but seeing the boy she had feelings for in pain and looking for scared washed her disgust away.

Closing the door behind her, Yolei dropped to her knees beside the boy and pulled him into her arms and he clung to her, sobbing as the cracking of his bones continued.

"It's going to be okay. It's okay. I'm here." She whispered comfortingly as she gently rubbed his ears to sooth him.

"It hurts so much." He sobbed sounding so weak.

"Everything's going to be fine." Yolei assured.

She felt his ribs moving and forming under her hands, but she pushed the strange anomaly away and continued comforting him.

After a half hour, the pain finally stopped and Davis just panted as he rested his head in the girl's chest, his face flushed and sweat covered his body.

"I-I'm okay now. It stopped for now." He rasped.

Sighing in relief, Yolei pulled away and looked down at the boy and saw that he still had the wolf ears and tail while his eyes had settled for a beautiful amber color.

"What was that?" she asked.

"The reason I was gone last month." He answered.

He stood up and walked to the kitchen, grabbing a glass and filled it with water from the tap and quickly downed it as Yolei walked over to him.

"You're a…" she trailed off.

"Werewolf? Yeah, something I just learned about a few years ago." He said.

"How?" Yolei asked.

"Jun. It happened to her. In my family, when you reach 16, you start to turn into a werewolf. That's kind of why I always had a bit of a temper. It was my inner wolf. But I'm not a monster. Just a freak of nature." He chuckled.

"Davis, you aren't a freak." Yolei frowned at him.

"Yolei, I'm going to be going through these half transformations until the night of a full moon for at least a year. I'm going to look like this for an entire day every month for a full year. After that, I'll be able to transform at will, but it hurts. And I don't want that. I saw what my sister went through and I watched her and helped her the best I could. But she's off in college and can't help me with this." He said with tears in his eyes.

"Then I'll help you. I said I would and I'm going to. Davis, we're all your friends and the others will want to help you. Who cares if you're a werewolf? It doesn't change a thing." Yolei said.

Her fist was clenched as she gave him a determined look and he stared into her caramel eyes.

"You don't think I look strange?" he whispered timidly.

This surprised her, but she smiled softly as she walked over to his side and pet his ears making his tail wag.

"Not at all. I love the ears and tail. They look cute on you." she said making him blush.

"Um, Yolei…could you stay with me tonight? I really don't want to go through this by myself." He requested shyly.

"Of course I will." She smiled.

A grin formed on his lips, a fang poking up cutely as he pulled the girl into a hug which she returned, resting her cheek on his chest to hear his heart beat and he rested his chin on top of her head.

"Thanks, Yolei. Really." He whispered.

(A few hours later…)

Yolei was cooking some miso soup for Davis who was resting on the couch after his next relapse of the transformation.

His nails had grown into claws while his legs had transformed into wolf legs and he had a pelt of mahogany fur on his chest, his fur looking very shiny and healthy.

"Okay, food's done." Yolei said as she carried the bowl over to the boy.

She smiled when she saw him sleeping on the couch, snoring softly as he curled up.

Walking over to the coffee table, she set the bowl down and then sat next to him, petting his pelt which made him growl happily in his sleep.

"Who would've thought that like this, you'd still be cute?" she chuckled lightly.

Caramel eyes moved over his body, taking in how relaxed it now was and her eyes then settled on his plump tanned lips that had a tint of pink to them.

A blush burned her face as she stared at them and deciding to go for it, she leaned down and placed her lips over his, surprised to find how soft they were and how sweet they tasted.

Moaning at the taste of chocolate from the boy's lips, Yolei let her eyes flutter closed as she leaned down on his chest.

A tongue flicking out to lick her passion fruit flavoured lips making her jump back in surprise as she found Davis was now wide awake, a dark red blush coating his face.

"Isn't this fairy tale backwards?" he asked.

"Fairy tale?" Yolei asked confused.

"Yeah, ya know the one where the prince kisses the princess to wake her up." Davis said.

"Oh, right. Sorry about that." Yolei blushed as she stared at her feet.

Davis sat up and hugged the lavender haired girl from behind, kissing the side of her head gently and rubbed her back to sooth her.

"I like you, Yolei. I have for a while now." He confessed.

Yolei gasped lightly at that as she turned to face the boy.

"R-Really?" she asked.

He nodded at her and she smiled at that as she leaned back into his chest, kissing his chin as they both lay back on the couch.

"I like you too, Davis." She whispered, his ears twitching.

"So, will you be my girlfriend?" he asked.

"Sure. But this doesn't count as our first date." She joked making him laugh.

The end.
