"The Clash"
Please enjoy and review!
"My song does not suck!" Matt yelled at the younger teenager who was frowning at him.
"I never said your song sucked, moron!" she yelled back at him.
This argument between the two Keepers of Friendship started earlier when Daisuke heard someone singing and strumming a guitar, then followed it to the music room.
Feeling curious as to who was singing, she poked her head inside the room and found that it was Matt and she stood back listening to the song.
(A few minutes earlier…)
When he was done, she clapped in appreciation making him look over at her.
"Daisuke, what are you doing here?" he asked standing up and placing the guitar down.
"I heard music and came to check it out. That was a pretty cool song, who sings it?" she asked walking over.
"Actually, I just finished writing it." he said.
"What? You wrote that awesome song?" she asked in disbelief which made him frown at her.
"What does that mean?" he asked.
"Nothing, it's just, well, you haven't written any new songs in four years. It's been nothing but I Turn Around when it comes to a Teenage Wolves concert. If I had to hear that song or a new version of it one more time, I swear I was close to cutting my own ears off." She giggled.
Matt huffed at that as he turned around and slammed his guitar case down onto the table as he placed his guitar inside and then zipped it up.
"Yeah, well, it's not my fault you have bad taste in music." He retorted.
"Hey, what does that mean?" she asked.
"You never exactly listen to good music at all. You wouldn't know a good song if it was blasting in your ear." He placed his hands on his hips.
"What are you being so rude about?" she asked feeling her temper rise.
"Are you kidding me? You basically just told me my song sucks." He said.
"When did I do that?" she raised her voice.
"A few seconds ago! You just said you were close to cutting your own ears off if you heard it one more time. My song does not suck!" Matt yelled.
"I never said your song sucked, moron!" she yelled back.
(Present time…)
They were both standing close to each other, azure and chocolate eyes glaring at each other dangerously.
"Yes you did." He bumped foreheads with her, making her back up.
"No I didn't. I just said I was sick of hearing your band play one song for four years straight. It's ridiculous. What took you guys so long to write another one? You guys have enough talent to have at least three CDs out by now." She said bumping foreheads with him, making him back up.
Matt blinked at that as he took in her words and stared into her eyes, seeing the sincerity in them.
"So, you meant nothing bad by what you said?" he asked.
"No!" she snapped.
"Well, word your sentences better! You made it sound like you were insulting me. You'd think after all this time you'd get better at it." he defended.
"You're the one who blew up at me, hot head!" she yelled.
"Oh, this coming from you is rich." He scoffed.
"Would you two just make-out already?" TK groaned.
Both teenagers blushed as they pulled away from each other and turned towards the door to see TK was standing at the door, his arms crossed as he stared at the duo.
"TK, what are you doing here?" Matt asked his brother.
"Are you kidding me? I could hear you two through the vents." The child of Hope said as he pointed to the vent above the chalkboard.
It led to the cafeteria and everyone who was spending their free period there had heard the lead singer of the Teenage Wolves singing his new song and the argument he had with the child of Miracles.
TK had been there with some of his friends on the basketball team and had excused himself as he rushed off to make sure the argument didn't turn physical.
"I had to come here to make sure you two didn't try to kill each other." He said.
"He started it." Daisuke crossed her arms and turned her back to the 17 year old who glared at her.
"Maybe next time you should mind your own business." Matt said to her.
"Matt, first of all, I agree with Daisuke. I am sick and tired of hearing 'I Turn Around'. It's old and dead. Working on some new material is good for the band." TK stated.
Matt gaped at him in shock that he would take the 14 year old girl's side, but he let it go by crossing his arms and glaring at the wall.
"Daisuke, you did sound like you were insulting him." TK said to the girl.
"But I didn't mean to. He could've just told me instead of yelling at me and insulting me back." She responded, no longer yelling or mad, but she was frustrated.
"You're both at fault. Now, kiss and make up." TK smiled cheerfully.
That earned him a cold glare from both the teenagers which made the blond give a nervous smile as he held his hands up and backed out of the room.
Something they had in common was the glare they used on people to show when they should back off and leave them alone.
"It's just an expression." TK said.
"Yeah, like I would do that. No offence, but I think I would rather kiss a girl with more experience." Matt said.
"You think I'm not a good kisser?" Daisuke asked making TK wince.
"No, I don't think that. I know you're not a good kisser." Matt stated.
Groaning in disbelief, TK slapped his hand over his face as he knew exactly how this would end.
Getting frustrated again, Daisuke grabbed Matt's tie and pulled him down to her face, placing her lips over the surprised blonde's making his eyes widen in shock.
TK smirked at this as he knew the girl's pride would take over and do anything she could just to make the other boy shut up.
The sudden kiss was a surprise and Matt wanted to pull away, but the taste of the girl's soft pink lips drew him in as he licked at her bottom lip, tasting sweet vanilla and strawberries.
Pulling back and denying the child of Friendship entrance to her mouth, Daisuke smirked up at him.
"Not a good kisser, huh? I think it's you who needs the practise." She teased poking his cheek.
Whirling around, the girl then walked out of the room, hips swaying sassily as she did so while the two brothers watched her; the older star struck while the younger was snickering.
"Admittedly, you had that coming." TK said as he then turned to walk out of the room.
Matt wasn't listening as his brother spoke, the 17 year old's left hand went to his lips that still had the taste of the mahogany haired girl's lips on them.
His lips also tingled a bit from the memory of her lips, surprise still going through his mind while TK turned to his brother in confusion from the silence.
"Um, Matt, you okay?" the child of Hope asked.
"Yeah, just surprised." Matt said as he let his hand drop and picked up his guitar.
(The next day…)
Matt was sitting on the bleachers after school waiting on Tai to be finished with the soccer team practise.
Looking around curiously, azure eyes landed on the mahogany haired girl as she ran across the field, kicking the ball up and then head-butted it over to Tai who stopped it with his chest and then kicked it into the goal.
Ever since that kiss yesterday, Matt hadn't been able to get the child of Miracles out of his mind and started thinking over all the times TK and Tai had teased him and Daisuke for liking each other.
It always made them blush in outrage and annoyance, but they shrugged it off with a scoff or glare at Tai and TK, or Daisuke and Matt would just get violent and punch them.
He never really thought of Daisuke as a girlfriend before, but now that he took a good look at her, he realized that she was quite attractive.
The short spikey mahogany hair she had when she was younger had grown down to mid-back length, she had a nice curvy body that was being hugged comfortably by her green tank top and black shorts and her eyes were a nice dark shade of chocolate.
Her lips were a nice pink color and were plump which made his mouth water as he remembered how they tasted.
Added to her looks was also her protectiveness over her friends and family, her loyalty and her large heart that she opened for everyone who needed it.
The coach then blew the whistle snapping Matt out of his daze as he watched the soccer players all running back over to the man.
"All right, that's it for today. Remember, our game is next Wednesday, so get plenty of rest and don't do anything stupid to get yourself hurt. We need you all to be there. Understood?" the coach asked sternly.
The group all called out their understandings that overlapped each other.
"Good. Now hit the showers." The coach yelled.
Matt watched as Daisuke walked off, a group of boys following her as they joked around and laughed with her.
He had seen her spending time with them when she wasn't with the Digidestineds.
The blonde with the tan and brown eyes was Kai, the brunette with green eyes was Rei and the younger brother of one of Matt's band mates, the orange haired boy with purple eyes was Satoshi and finally the tanned black haired boy brown eyes was Takeshi.
They always flocked around Daisuke and seemed to be her fan boys by the way they showed her respect and admired her, though Kai acted more serious like an older brother and Satoshi was very innocent.
"Hey, Matt, did you enjoy the practise?" Tai asked as he walked over to the blond.
"Yeah, it was pretty good. You guys are getting better." Matt said.
Tai stared at him, observing him carefully while Matt gave him a look and Tai then smirked.
"Okay, who is she?" Tai asked.
"Who?" Matt asked.
"The girl you like. It's kind of obvious." Tai said as he sat down next to his friend.
Matt was surprised that Tai was able to pick up this fact so easily, but he let a grin form on his lips as he looked over at his friend.
"And can you guess who that girl is?" the blond asked.
"Not a clue, but I'm guessing she's a redhead. You seem to have a thing for redheads." Tai said.
"So I do." Matt chuckled.
"Come on, just tell me. I won't laugh. Much." Tai grinned.
Thinking this over, Matt decided to tell the brunette and see what his reaction would be once he heard the news.
"It's Daisuke." He said.
Tai was silent at that, the words processing in his mind as a blank look was on his face.
"What's Daisuke?" he asked.
"Daisuke is the girl I like." Matt told him.
"Huh." Tai said as he took in the words.
The brunette was stunned by the information he was given and wasn't sure how to handle the sudden confession.
"Would you just say something?" Matt snapped as he got annoyed from the child of Courage's lack of emotion.
Shaking his head clear of the thoughts swarming in his mind, Tai looked over at his friend he had known for years and then thought about seeing him with the girl who once looked up to him and admired him.
"This is interesting. I mean, I know I tease you two, but I never thought you'd actually like each other. What made you decide to ask out Daisuke?" Tai asked.
"Well, she and I got into an argument and she decided to shut me up by kissing me." Matt informed.
Tai laughed at that while his best friend glared at him, cheeks tinted pink.
"Oh, that's rich. I wish I had seen that." Tai wiped an imaginary tear away.
"So, her kissing you is what made you realize you like her?" he asked calming down.
"Well, it certainly got me thinking. She is a pretty interesting person and she has a heart of gold. I guess I was mostly focusing on the fact that she's younger than me that I never thought to view her as someone I'd like." Matt explained.
"Yeah, especially when her older sister used to stalk you." Tai smirked, showing off his teeth when he saw Matt stiffen up at the mention of Jun.
"Anyway, I decided to give her a chance. Who knows, maybe we'll work out better than Sora and I did." The child of Friendship shrugged.
Tai nodded at that as he looked over to the locker rooms and spotted Daisuke walking out, her hair wet from the shower she had taken while she was dressed in a white t-shirt that slipped down her left shoulder, jean shorts and blue boots that reached her knees.
She was carrying a black sport's bag over her shoulder and she waved to one of her teammates as they came out of their locker room and called out their farewells to the girl.
"Might as well go for it." Tai clapped Matt's shoulder.
Azure eyes looked up and spotted the mahogany haired girl walking off and Matt nodded as he sent a smile in his friend's direction.
"Thanks, Tai." Matt said as he stood up and walked off to catch up with the child of Miracles.
As Daisuke was rounding the corner of the school building, she head footsteps running after her and someone called her name making her turn around.
"Matt, what are you doing here?" she asked.
"I needed to come talk to you." he panted.
"Okay, what's up?" she asked.
He let out a breath as he stood in front of the girl.
"It's about that kiss." He said making her blush.
"Oh, that? Forget it about it. Don't worry; I'm not going to start stalking you just because of one kiss. I'm not one of those loser fan girls." Daisuke assured as she turned and started walking off.
She was stopped by Matt catching her arm and pulling her back which made her look up at him curiously.
"I wasn't going to say that. I was just wondering…if you wanted to try it again." He said.
Her eyes went wide at that as her cheeks were tinted red.
Leaning down, Matt locked lips with the girl, tasting vanilla and strawberries again and the girl gripped his white shirt collar as she melted into the kiss.
Smiling into the kiss, Matt pulled Daisuke closer to his body with one arm around her waist while the other was cupping her right cheek.
He moved her backwards until her back hit the building wall and she let one of her hands move up to twine into the golden locks of hair that were incredibly soft.
When oxygen became an issue, they both pulled away panting as Daisuke lay her head on his shoulder to hide her dark red cheeks.
"I say I'm a better kisser now, but I could still use some lessons if you're up for it." Matt said as the mahogany haired girl looked up at him.
"Is that what you want?" she asked with a teasing grin.
"Actually, I want a date. With you." Matt said making her eyes go wide.
"A-Are you serious?" she asked hopefully.
"Of course. You're a pretty amazing person, Daisuke. You should have an equally amazing guy to treat you right." he winked at her.
She giggled at that as she buried her head in his chest and felt a bit embarrassed that she was easily falling for his charms.
Daisuke had always had a crush on Matt when she first met him, but she brushed it off to the side since her sister was interested in the rock star and felt like she would be betraying Jun if she admitted to liking him.
Jun was now dating Joe's older brother Jim and they were happy together, so it wouldn't be betraying her sister if she decided to be with Matt.
"So, what do you say?" Matt asked as he cupped her chin and tilted her head up.
"I think it would be a great idea.' She smiled.
Matt returned the smile as he scooped the girl up in his arms making her laugh as she clung to his shoulders.
From around the corner, TK was watching this and smiled at the new couple.
"It's about time." He sighed before walking off.
The end.
