"An Uzumaki Christmas"
This is a Narusuke or Dairuto pairing. Please enjoy and review!
It was a frosty day that December, but the sun was high in the sky making the pure white snow on the ground sparkle along with the icicles that clung to trees and roofs.
A man with hair the color of sunshine was standing in front of a tree lot as he looked over the pine trees, trying to decide on the perfect one.
He had lightly tanned skin and ocean blue eyes, and his cheeks had three whisker marks that adorned each cheek while his body was dressed in a pair of jeans, black boots, an orange winter's coat and a pain of black gloves to fight off the chill.
Cupping his chin, the man frowned in thought as he looked over the branches of the pine, trying to find any imperfections.
"Daddy!" someone called.
The man then snapped out of his thought and smiled when he spotted a woman and a little girl making their way over to him.
The little girl had scarlet colored hair, tanned skin and ocean blue eyes that were filled with excitement as she ran over to her father dressed in a pink jacket, white fuzzy earmuffs, pink boots, a white scarf and white mittens.
"Kushina, what did I say about running on the ice?" her mother chided.
Kushina, the little girl, stopped running and yelped as she almost toppled over and gave a nervous grin over at her mother who had her hands on her hips.
She was dressed in a powder blue jacket, jeans, brown boots, had on a yellow hat, mittens and a scarf to keep warm.
"Sorry, Mommy." Kushina gave a large grin at her mother as she rubbed the back of her head in a way that reminded the woman far too much of her husband.
Rolling her chocolate brown eyes at the girl, the mahogany haired woman gave an amused smile as her husband walked over and scooped their daughter up into his arms and kissed her cheek making Kushina giggle.
"Don't worry so much, Daisuke. After, we've done the same thing when we were her age." Naruto Uzumaki-Namikaze chuckled.
"That's why I worry." Daisuke commented as she walked over.
Looking over at the trees, she took them in and then turned to Kushina.
"Okay, sweetie, which one do you think we should get?" Daisuke asked.
"I want one that reaches the sky!" Kushina exclaimed as she threw her arms into the air.
Naruto laughed at that as he set the cheerful girl on the ground and walked over to the tree he was observing earlier.
"How about this one? It's looks so lonely and could use a nice warm home for Christmas." the blonde said.
Daisuke smiled at him; she knew that Naruto would be a wonderful father when they were adults and he proved that everyday when it came to dealing with Kushina.
"Oh, it does look sad. Okay, we can take Mr. Tree home with us! We'll make him look pretty for Santa!" Kushina bounced excitedly.
"Great! Let's go pay for this guy so we can go back home. I'm sure he can't wait to see his new home." Naruto smiled as he easily lifted the tree.
Kushina cheered as she rushed over to her mother and grabbed her hand as she sang 'Oh Christmas Tree' as the Uzumaki-Namikaze family walked off to find the dealer.
(At home...)
When the family got back to their apartment, they shed off their winter clothing and started working on the tree.
Naruto had sat the pine up on a stand while Daisuke was unwrapping the red and gold ornaments from the tissue paper she wrapped them in to ensure they wouldn't get scratched.
Kushina was trying to untangle the Christmas lights, growling at the demonic tangles.
"Oh, I just wanna chop them up into bitty pieces and throw them out the window!" the redhead yelled as she tried to undo a difficult knot.
The parents looked over at their daughter and then shared amused looks as they stood up and walked over to their daughter who was sitting on the floor with a defeated look on her face,
"Now, now, Kushina. You need to be nice to the lights. They won't work for you if you're mean to them." Naruto chided playfully.
"The lights started it." Kushina pouted as she crossed her arms.
Shaking her head at this, Daisuke took the lights and expertly slipped her finger into the knots and gently pried the wires apart.
"There. You see? You just need to be gentle. Now, let's put these lights up first." the 25 year old woman smiled.
"'Kay!" Kushina chirped as she stood up and helped her mother wrap the white lights around the tree.
Standing back, Naruto smiled lovingly at his family.
He had grown up alone in his village of Konoha and everyone hated him simply because he held a demon inside of his body.
After dealing with the constant abuse from everyone in his village and having being almost killed by his once best friend Sasuke Uchiha, Naruto had decided to run away.
He escaped the elemental nations and had found Odaiba, a city in Japan that had no ninjas and was curious about them.
As he searched around town, he had run into a girl his age named Daisuke and they had gotten into many arguments, but became friends very fast.
When they were 16 and dating, the Akatsuki came after him, so he had to return to the village to help defeat them while Daisuke and her Digidestined friends went along to help stop the war that would destroy the world.
After Madara Uchiha and the Akatsuki were defeated, Naruto decided to marry Daisuke and she agreed happily.
She had loved him even before he became a hero and didn't care that his body housed a demon inside of him, but she refused to live in a village where he was abused for most of his life.
Daisuke had grown a hatred for the village and refused to raise a family and Tsunade Senju allowed them to live in Odaiba where they would be safe.
A year later they had Kushina, whom Naruto had named after his dead mother because of how much she looked like the beautiful woman.
Daisuke had joked that if they had a son, then they should name him Minato after the blonde's father, but Naruto had decided on naming their son after Jiraiya as a way to honor the memories of the closest thing he had to a real father and his wife agreed without question.
She had liked the old man as well even though he was a pervert and had wanted to write a story based on their relationship for his filthy Icha Icha books which she answered by punching him straight in the face much to Tsunade's amusement.
"Naruto!" Daisuke called making the blonde shake his head to snap himself out of his memories.
Ocean blue eyes then took in the room that was decorated with holly, garlands and red ribbons.
Red and white lights were also hanging on the windows and over the cieling above them.
Looking at the tree, he found that his wife and daughter had finished wrapping the lights around it and were waiting on him to help put on the ornaments.
"Daddy, come help us!" Kushina cheered as she held a gold ornament.
"All right. Let's get to work." Naruto clapped his hands together and rubbed them as he sauntered over to help his two beautiful women.
With a peaceful atmopshere, the trio hung up the ornaments on the branches, the parents checking to make sure their daughter didn't drop one or prick her finger on the hooks.
Once the ornaments were all hung up, Daisuke then opened up a box and pulled out a beautiful glass angel that had crimson red hair and wore a white dress and had golden wings.
In between her hands the angel held a gold star that held the Uzumaki spiral inside it.
"Okay, who wants to put up the Uzumaki angel this year?" Daisuke asked as she presented the beautiful doll.
"Ooh, ooh! Me! I would!" Kushina jumped up as she raised her hand up.
Laughing at this, Daisuke then held out the angel to the redhead.
"All right then." she said.
Naruto and Daisuke then both placed their hands on their daughter's waist as they lifted her up to the top of the tree and Kushina reached out and placed the angel securely on top of the tree.
"There!" Kushina grinned as her parents pulled her away.
"And now for the final touch..." Naruto winked as he handed the girl over to Daisuke who held the girl gently in her arms.
Walking over to the wall, Naruto flicked off the light switch and then moved over to where the outlet was located.
Grabbing the cable, he pulled it over to the outlet and plugged it into the wall and the tree lit up beautifully making the Uzumaki women gasp in awe.
The red and gold shone in a lovely combination and it made the angel on top of the tree look all the more miraculous.
Admiring the tree, Naruto walked over and wrapped an arm around his wife's waist and pulled her into his side as he kissed her head making her smile as she leaned her head against his shoulder.
"It looks beautiful." Daisuke sighed happily.
"It looks so pretty. We did good, right?" Kushina clapped at the sight in front of them.
"Yeah, we did." Naruto sighed as he hugged the two most important people in his life.
"All right. I'm hungry. How about I get dinner started? And no, we are not having ramen again tonight." Daisuke gave her husband a stern looking making him give her an innocent smile.
"Aw, but your ramen's the best! Even better than old man Teiuchi's." Naruto fluttered his eyes at her making his wife laugh.
"Flattery will get your nowhere, but please continue." she said making him chuckle as he pulled her into a kiss.
Kushina groaned as she wriggled free from her parents' embrace and rushed off to the kitchen to see if she could sneak one of the chocolate mint cookies her mother had made.
Wrapping her arms around her husband's broad shoulders, Daisuke deepened the kiss as Naruto tightened his arms around her waist.
When oxygen became an issue, the couple pulled away and stared up at each other and smiled.
"Okay, fine. I'll make ramen tonight. But we are having something different tomorrow. I'm making Italien." Daisuke said as she pointed a finger in Naruto's face.
"Sounds great." Naruto smiled as he closed his hand around his wife's hand and pulled it to his lips and kissed her knuckles.
"Now, let's go start cooking before Kushina eats all the cookies." he said.
"I am not!" Kushina yelled from the kitchen.
The couple laughed as they walked off into the kitchen arm in arm to see their daughter with chocolate covering her mouth as she rushed over to her parents, leaving the tray filled with cookies on the table.
(Night time...)
Naruto walked through the apartment, checking the windows and doors to make sure they were locked.
It was true that he was a powerful ninja, a Sage at that, but he still did the littlest of things to ensure the safety of his family.
Walking off into his daughter's room, he smiled when he found the redhead dressed in her green night dress as she cuddled up with her orange toad plush toy.
Stepping into the room, Naruto bent down and kissed his daughter's head before he then pulled the covers up over her and then checked her window to make sure it was locked.
Nodding in satisfaction, the man walked off to his room and found Daisuke already in her white short nightgown and her long mahogany hair was flowing down her back in waves.
She was sitting on their bed, brushing out her hair when he saw her husband step into the room and smiled at him.
"Locking all the doors and windows again?" she asked in amusement.
"Yes. I'm paranoid, I know, but I do this for the love of my family." Naruto said as he pulled his shirt off and trhew it into the clothes hamper.
As the blonde got dressed into his blue pajamas, he then thought of something.
"Daisuke, what would say to having another one?" he asked.
"Another what?" she asked as she pulled the covers up over her.
Naruto then climbed into bed and pulled the covers on his body as he turned over to face his wife.
"Another baby. I mean, Kushina's old enough to cook and clean. She would love to have another baby. Remember last year?" Naruto grinned.
"Last Christmas she wanted a baby brother." Daisuke smiled fondly at the memory.
The couple had tried many times to have another baby that year, but nothing had happened.
Naruto blamed the fox for it which made Kurama yell at him for being an idiot and said that they were just not ready to have another child yet.
"I think we can have another child. I want to have another baby. Although, I'm not looking forward to the nine months of preganancy." Daisuke groaned at the memory of being pregnant with Kushina.
"And the night of no sleep. Crying at all hours. Spit up on our clothing." Naruto groaned at the memory.
Kushina was a loud and difficult baby to deal with, she refused the food they gave her and always threw things around her making a mess.
Thankfully Veemon and Tsunade had been there to help out with the baby, so hopefully they would be there again to help them with another child.
"Those parts are all horrible. But holding our baby for the first time, singing him to sleep and celebrating all his other firsts." Daisuke sighed contently as she snuggled up to her husband.
"Those things are all worth it." Naruto smiled fondly as he held his wife close as he breathed in her scent of strawberries and vanilla.
"Okay, let's do it. Let's have another baby. A perfect little boy." Daisuke whispered as she moved her face closer to her husband's.
"Let's see if we can get you pregnant in time for Christmas. It'll be the perfect present for all of us." Naruto whispered as he gazed down into her eyes.
Leaning down, he captured her lips as he pulled her closer, intent on trying to create their son and lengthen their family.
The end.
